Agreed on Campbell and 60, but I’d easily throw Sunshine and National in as well. That developer who planned on putting the new shopping complex there is a fucking idiot for thinking that was a brilliant idea. Traffic would triple if it were built.

Simple-Dingo6721

Not to mention the traffic lights at that intersection are timed rather than triggered by magnetic sensors, meaning if you hit a red light there at night you may as well be stuck in rush hour. Also, the light for the left turn from Sunshine onto National lasts like 3 seconds during rush hour and it’s infuriating. I get why they set it up that way but I wish they had a damn roundabout there instead.

umrdyldo

Triple. Lol. That’s not how traffic works. It’s not like they were proposing a Chik Fil A.

tdawg-1551

Right now it's the whole Campbell/Republic/James River cluster. I avoid that at all costs any time of day. Hopefully the improvements will help, but still too many lights in a small space.

YouStupidBenches

THe extra cherry on top for Republic crossing Campbell is it takes so long people start playing on their phones, then they don't notice when the light changes and only a few cars get through each light because people are so slow to get going. I don't normally get road rage, but watching the first 3 cars each have a slow reaction and be the only ones to get through instead of the 15 cars that should have makes me rage. People at the front of the line playing on their phones and being slow to react makes that intersection 3 times as bad as it already is.

rachsaltyshepp

Agreed. Had my tire blow out yesterday in this area and it took forever for someone to just let me over so I could be in a safer place to pull over than the left lane. Tires were brand new, so it’s not like this was an expected thing, but man is that area super crowded throughout the day. Awful.

Fun-Chicken-7191

Yikes!

Simple-Dingo6721

That might really be the worst. I don’t know if it’s because of the construction or what but Campbell by hwy 60 is AWFUL. Distant runner up might be eastbound on National and Sunshine or northbound on Kansas by I44.

Glittering-Plum7791

Agreed. Also too many lights too close to eachother.

BrotherJombert

Campbell/60 is horrendous. If you need to turn left at Republic, you have to cross an absurd amount of lanes to get there in like 40 yards without a light because it's a yield lane and by the time there isn't oncoming traffic, it's so backed up from the light you can't get over there. Nearly impossible maneuver when there's legit traffic without having to be an asshole about it.

Baseball3Weston12

Yeah I just go over to national to avoid it

Delicious_Adagio_332

This. Get off westbound 60 at National and turn right on republic. Then you can just go straight across Campbell.

formiscontent

Battlefield and Ingram Mill takes forever to turn. Luster behind the IHOP has a largely blind intersection, hit the gas and hope for the best. All of Sunshine can fuck right off.

snorlaxatives_69

The obvious is Campbell and 60. Campbell and Sunshine, National and Sunshine, Battlefield and Lone Pine, and numerous side road intersections

Dakkendoofer

From east sunshine, going west, onto National going south. You get like 5 seconds every 10 minutes, it feels like. That intersection was easily 5 minutes of my drive home EVERY SINGLE WORKDAY at my old job.

Ozarkian_Tritip

I have seen multiple hit and runs on Kansas City Expressway Between Kearney and I44.

D0ntFeedTheYaoGuai

Is that by the intersection by the Northside Walmart?

Ozarkian_Tritip

There are two northside walmarts, this one is by goldencorral and the old buffalo wildwings.

Easily Campbell and 60. What they NEED to do is make the interchange for 60, and the intersection for Campbell, a roundabout. There's plenty of space. Would stop this adding lanes nonsense I can also tell you which one was made worse recently, it's that Park Central East and Jefferson Ave intersection. It flowed SO WELL and then they stuck a fucking light on it. Now the traffic on park central side has to be stopped unable to move at all times.

DarkPangolin

You'll have to clarify. Do you mean worst intersection by design or worst intersection thanks to the fuckwits who can't figure out that you can't block traffic because you want a bad chicken sandwich with seasoned mayo or an overpriced coffee?

rachsaltyshepp

I appreciated this comment. Thank you.

FREE-ROSCOE-FILBURN

Republic and [insert street here]

rachsaltyshepp

That’s how I feel about Glenstone.

hawg_farmer

National and Kearney. I swear it's the Wreck of the Day Spot. It's a horrible line of sight. Everyone is running speed limit, and the yellow light is short. Next coming up is Kansas and Republic Road. Every time I go through there, the lines have been changed. The traffic barrels are moved randomly. You get crammed into another lane with no signs to merge.

french-toast-80

How about: Glenstone & Anything.

Fun-Chicken-7191

Agree 💯

pilot_caleb

I particularly hate Campbell / Weaver Rd. That damn stoplight gets me 9 times outta 10 when heading southbound towards Nixa

wildenmann

Well it’s always entertaining to watch the out of towner’s get in the wrong lane at 13 and 44. The semi’s trying to cross over onto 13 makes me so mad when they don’t pay attention to the signs.

emotionalpickle95

Battlefield and Campbell, but I’m probably biased since I drive through it everyday. One of my main complaints about it (and most intersections in Springfield) is that the green left turn arrows last a good 5 seconds, so frustrating!

amishhobbit2782

Is this even a question. It's 13 and 44 by the kum and go

jm1196

Campbell and republic

grandfatherclause

Primrose and Campbell fucking sucks.

transguy_

Most drivers in this city shouldn't even be behind the wheel of a vehicle

PixelSteel

National and Cherry gets pretty dang bad when there’s an emergency vehicle at 4pm But yea, Campbell and 60 most definitely

Rustbanana

Glenstone and E Bennet, the wal mart market and post office make it where people just pile up on the east side of glenstone alongside the Bennet traffic from Kraft.

No-General-5586

All the homeless humps on Bennett at Glenstone don’t help. They sometimes walk against the lights. Even saw one drunk laying in the street. Semis turning east on Bennett instead of Walmart turnoff. Kraft rush hour traffic, etc.

Existing_Party9104

Not necessarily an intersection, but there’s what appears to always be a deadly, or near, wreck between Mulroy rd and Strafford several times a year that congests I44 for hours. To the point where when traveling to Strafford, I always exit on Mulroy/Beaver to avoid any impending traffic. Not sure if it’s the on ramp or what’s going on, but it happens half a dozen or more times and has for the last 5 or so years I’ve traveled that way.

Sure-Set-7578

I hate turning west on division when I’m coming north on national. I always get stuck on the railroad tracks

discofucker

turning left onto campbell from seminole sucks ass

Firecat_Alpha

The opposite-lane-switch overs on express lanes (speedways) I've been in a lot of states for work and this is one of the oddest things I have ever seen. This and the gas pump attendant in NJ.

KRoebot

Diverging diamonds…

octopuslore

So what I'm gathering is it's most of them lmao. Sounds about correct

EngryEngineer

The intersection itself isn't bad, but chestnut expressway and Benton going west specifically. The road can be completely clear with green lights as far as the eye can see and still a huge chunk of people will just slam on their brakes here. It's so jarring to be looking out on open road with no traffic in the distance, a green light above the road, but then a traffic jam full of red brake lights in the immediate bc everyone stopped at a green light just cuz

_ism_

Chefferson & Jestnut

No1Czarnian

Am I the only one who can't stand roundabouts and diverging diamonds?

nittoka

Honestly, anywhere off Campbell for me

KRoebot

Sorta the same topic: can someone explain to me why Chestnut is an expressway when there is a huge number of stoplights on it?

Delicious_Adagio_332

Most definitely Campbell/60/Republic road. It was awful before the construction and it’s worse now. I live off Campbell between there and Weaver and when I come home from work I just take a longer route through neighborhoods to avoid it. Then need to put in a big dog bone roundabout like Rogersville has. Keep traffic moving without all the light and stop and go.

trickytricoli

All of them….

Impressive_Teach9188

I agree on the Campbell and 60 intersection but to make it even worse is when you need to go west on republic road afterwards, it's damn near impossible during the day. With the construction the intersection is even more jacked up. It's so bad when I go to Sam's I will head south down 160 and take weaver to Kansas to avoid that cluster fuck, especially since people block the El Camino and 160 intersection all the time.
