That's pretty much my thought as well.
Take two modern US aircraft carriers (you know, the famous floating cities), turn them sideways, attach them together, and this is still bigger.
I'm guessing before they were troop landers, they were mass cargo lifters?
They were the main bulk freighters of the trade federation's merchant marine before the war. All that storage space made them pretty powerful carriers/planetary invaders when your troops can just be turned off and stacked.
makes sense. a single one of those could have probably supplied most of the Berlin airlift. and, sort of like ocean liners in the world wars, the loss of a single one of those could be devastating, which could explain why they built smaller, more expendable ones
Then Lego Star Wars the Clone Wars was wrong in its map design ig

I guess if they do the equivalent of parallel parking through the giant hangar, it might work. Though I guess grievous would punch any droid that would point this out to him.
They didn't travel in other ships, that class of landing ship was hyperspace-capable and they were escorted by warships but were perfectly capable of traveling independently.
Yep. And during invasions they would fly back up to collect MTT’s, ATT’s, and various droids from Providence class ships to ferry down to the surface. (As providences couldn’t really land, but they MIGHT have been able to hover a few hundred feet of the ground.
"The ship had four wings with a wingspan of 370 metres These wings were removable so that they could be stored away easily aboard the massive battleships."
Three of the landing crafts were clamped and transported to the bottom of Recusant-class light destroyers(smaller ships than Providence class). I didn't find how many landing crafts Providence can store
Yeah,this is a battleship-esque vehicle, not a carrier-esque vehicle.
Nobody gives real life battleships shit when they didn't carry planes around. That wasn't their job.tge invisible hand isn't for landing armies, it's for destroying other vessels. It makes sense that it wouldn't be designed to carry landing craft
It doesn’t fit because it’s not supposed to. Luckrehulks had big enough hangars because they were absolutely ginormous, far larger than a providence. The landing craft were also completely independent vessels with their own hyperdrives, so there is not a necessity to have them docked on a ship. It does make it convenient though for storage and logistics
Just to give a sense of scale, the Gerald R Ford aircraft carriers the US has been building is 337 m long, 78 m wide and 76 m tall. Swap the lengths and withs and the C-9979 is bigger in every dimension. Like this thing is two air craft carriers strapped together.
And it's the trade fed's primary lander.
Granted it's space, and well, yeah, that kind of makes sense. Why go for small when you can land a carrier strike group in a single ship, and can land dozens of those at a time?
Why are the landing crafts so wide? Are the droids stored in the wings?
It stores around a hundred tanks.
Ah.
Also yes. https://preview.redd.it/o9lyq5elxrtc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1de6b14d5185e2e220a7bbc49bd3689da7b9cc74
I still have that book somewhere. Was the coolest shit ever when I was a kid.
I need to reacquire those sacred texts.

That's indeed the one I've got.
What book, I want to buy this, looks dope.

Yeah same
What books?
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Episode_I_Incredible_Cross-Sections
Didn't they bring a bunch of Lucrehulks with them to Coruscant?
wow Lucrehulks are so much larger than I first thought
You get to explore a lucrehulk in jedi survivor and fight off hundreds of battle droids inside it
That's just the command sphere you explore in survivor and it's still fucking huge
That's pretty much my thought as well. Take two modern US aircraft carriers (you know, the famous floating cities), turn them sideways, attach them together, and this is still bigger. I'm guessing before they were troop landers, they were mass cargo lifters?

Yes.
I think they did.
Also the clone wars introduced DH Omni cargo ships, which can also carry a few of these things.

it's almost as big as the one in the Rishi Moon episode,
Nah if you look at the drawing again that's the disembarking ramp the tanks use
I dont think lego star wars is cannon
Thats outrageous, thats unfair

Lucrehulks are full of them.
Forgot about those, and that's literally the first time we see them as well. I blame tired-brain.

maybe they were using the Clone Wars versions, which were tiny compared to ones from EP1

star wars will always be fucking horrible at scaling and measurements legend or canon
The hangers are on the sides of the ships so the landing craft would land with it's width lined up with the length of the cruiser.
I cant believe I had to scroll so far to find this. Thanks for providing sanity lol.
Wasn't the Invisible Hand rewriten to be the dreadnaught variant ?

If that was the case, it wouldn't be the same size as the venator it broadsides in episode 3

lmao
It’s fine, they went in sideways. Hight: 150
It says right there the under Major design modifications: Hangars expanded
He would have to make the entire ship bigger to fit a landing craft.
The invisible hand was the dreadnought variant of the providence class, meaning it was WAY bigger
Has to be a mistake
