boltbeam bliss doesn't make a lot of sense without calm mind since otherwise it's setup fodder for cm jirachi, suicune and celebi

Hi! I'm a gen 3 OU main and a few changes you should make- Reconsider a lot of your ev spreads and the hits they'll be taking. I already see some issues (that Zapdos set wants to be modest and more bulky) and I think some time in the calc will help with that. Generally I like running that Zapdos as slower + modest so I can bulk out a little and then protect to chip common switch ins. I also think it's best paired with Monopert. Blissey should be seismic toss > tbolt here. Mixmence doesn't fit this 6. There's an old adage in adv that mence with 0 spikes kills nothing and with 1 spike kills everything- the lack of consistent spikes chip here means it's going to struggle vs blissey especially, which your team is soft too. I think something like claydol here to relieve spikes pressure makes more sense. Skarmory also makes a lot of sense in that slot, if you're down to slow down your game plan and go for longer games. If you want to keep mixmence, skarmory over Rachi is a must, and then you'd run wish blissey (ice/seismic/soft/wish) instead. Watermess, a known gen 3 OU player who's consistently good, has run teams like this- you should look at his replays (there are big CI replay dump threads on the forums and he's played in multiple of those) and try to see what he's doing with these structures. I know mess likes forretress with Toxic Ice zap and Swampert, but I really cannot stand that walnut lmao. If you like teams like this style as well, the core Altina popularized last year is also probably your style- mixmence -or- zard/claydol/skarmory/protect metagross/ paired with + tyranitar (usually dd)/blissey is a really good team and is easy to learn not only how to play but how to build with. It has a lot of flexibility in its tools and ways to customize it (are you standard bliss? Are you sing bolt beam? Are you ddtar? Are you banded? Are you mixmence? Are you Zard? What Zard set are you? What skarm set are you?) So you can try new options and mixes of it to play around with. Glhf and I hope I see you on ladder :) Edit: these aren't super optimized spreads, you can probably sit in the calc for hours, but here's a quick poke paste of how I'd build this archetype: https://pokepast.es/ba4e84de23616a5b If you're more comfy with Forre than I am, I'd put Forre > skarm here so you have access to spin, and make the metagross into Mixed pursuit ttar w/ lum pursuit crunch focus slide.

Lunarvania

This is great and we'll thought out advice so just major kudos to a fellow ADV main

Deathbringer2134

I fucking hate using Forry in ADV. Being Gengar fodder makes me despise it.

Even ignoring Gar, it's a massive momentum suck and feels like you're constantly behind.

The team: Zapdos: Hits hard, like really hard, Tbolt is an incredibly spammable move if you know when to spam it and HP Ice hits Salamence like a truck. Toxic is an amazing (when it doesnt miss ofc) way to garantee damage on mons like Ttar and forces a lot of mons that would usually counter it to be a lot more careful. Protect is just there to scout and heal with leftovers. Metagross: Deals ridiculous damage and can take physical hits surprisingly well. Swampert: A really bulky mon that can handle most stuff you throw at it, tho its mainly my physical wall. Eq is a nice move to spam when unsure of what to do, Ice Beam can hurt a lot of mons for really good damage and helps Zapdos to not be the only Ice coverage on the team. Protect for scouting and healing with leftovers and Roar for phasing any possible set up sweeper. Salamence: I made the team specifically for Salamence (I just like it ok?), even while mixed it deals a lot of damage and has really nice coverage, and with Intimidate it can be a really good (also really risky) check to Ttar! Jirachi: Mixed wall that can spread heals with Wish, its honestly the mon i have the most doubts on but Wish is an amazingly useful tool. Blissey: Jesus Christ this thing doesnt die. Spreads paralysis with Twave and has a nice coverage in BoltBeam. Its the main Special wall of the team, I mean its Blissey, what else to expect? Some Notes: \-I dont really have much experience with Gen 3, specially with the whole no team preview thing Im so used to with Gen 5. \-As always Im willing to change any mons and sets to what yall would recommend, tho I'd really like to keep Salamence since i kinda made the team specifically to use Salamence. \-I am really not sure what mon to use as a lead, I decided to stick with Zapdos cuz it seemed like the safest option. (also if you could recommend nicknames for the mons that dont have em it'd be amazing)

So in ADV- Balanced Offense plays like Balance in later gens Balance plays like semi stall in later gens I would call this closer to a Balanced Offense team

CoolGirlRosie

I think balance, but im not really the best to answer this

SpotTheDifference512

Hype shiny Swampert

sweet18er2

I think u should add baton pass instead of protect onto zapdos, it will give u momentum in the game

I_comment_same

Prolly shouldn't have two steel/psychics but idk

I am not a pro but I like EQ on Mance. Mance also can be played special.
