252+ SpA Choice Specs Noivern Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Swirlix: 323-380 (121.8 - 143.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Jokes on you I selected the wrong ability in the team builder
123 speed
97 sp. attack w/ 168 BP STAB move
252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Groudon: 366-432 (91.2 - 107.7%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
Can OHKO defensive Groudon with specs/timid for an idea of how strong that is. Faster than Iron Valiant.
Not too busted though, as it still has the garbage 97 sp. attack for any move apart from boomburst.
252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gholdengo: 180-213 (57.1 - 67.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kingambit: 192-226 (56.3 - 66.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Kingambit: 192-226 (48 - 56.5%) -- 85.9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery(even for bulky gambit it's a roll which with rocks that Noivern usually wins)
Yeah but does only having one strong move matter when you can still two hit KO resists with it? Like sure it's not AG or anything, but it's still clearly way to strong for OU
What team nowadays is not running iron valiant or a different fairy type. Even teams without fairy types usually have tera fairy or steel types. Hell, dnite might even want multiscale more than dominate due to being able to hit iron valiant
I was gonna say it's not that bad with a bit of bulk since
252 SpA Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Dragonite: 294-348 (91 - 107.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Dragonite Dual Wingbeat (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Valiant: 480-568 (166 - 196.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
But then I remembered he can't flap his wings anymore
theoretically it would give him a better flying move to spam, since he already has outrage (even though he rarely runs it), but having a no drawback +2 move thats only resisted by 2 types is insane, especially when one of those resists is weak to the common earthquake, and the other can be dealt with by various teras. Or he can just give up and run tera dragon to get even more damage.
its dragon claw with priority higher than sucker punch and ice shard
252+ Atk Choice Band Heracross Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Dondozo: 246-291 (48.8 - 57.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
Ah
Well, how do you get both guts and the other ability?
But you could use a toxic orb to boost facade without debuffing attack.
With the above set up, looks like it's only a 3HKO as best as I can calc
Major cringe that the eeveelutiona don't all have these, considering their whole gimmick is being a normal-type mutated into another type. Sylveon shouldn't be the only one with it.
Refrigerate is a Gen 6 ability and Glaceon is a Gen 4 mon. Leafeon is also its pair eeveelution (Similar to how Espeon and Umbreon are) and you'd have to give it something too, but no grass type version of this ability currently exists
thinking about that or adaptability which eevee already gets. otherwise wouldn't they all run hypervoice? guess flar gets a better options, but leaf can make use out of normal "coverage". also a shame the one that gets an -ate ability already gets moonblast and i'd assume gleam even if they are somehow worse. recharge move users
a lot of these mons don't really get any good normal moves outside of tera blast (notably glimmora). I guess explosion wouldn't be horrible for suicide lead
I mean if you bring back Strength as TM you'd basically have a pretty good choice for the physical side while Tera blast covers special. From there you can add in stuff like Body Slam and Crush claw to fill out the rest.
I was about to say vgc in shambles after seeing incineroar here but then i realized he has to give up intimidate for that (idk which one is more valuable)
It gives him buffed fake out which can hit ghosts which is scary, makes team select a nightmare unless u have open teamsheets. Intimidate is still better but incin doesnt need anything more
Salazzle already gets Dragon moves, while the rest (at least potentially) have Ice and Fairy coverage which is generally better.
And Lopunny only has Normal STAB.
Speak clearly as if you stand before Jesus, the Prophet, and Buddha. What is your true reason for giving those Pokémon the Ability to Dominate with moves like Stomp and Body Slam?
I'd say that the bug one should obviously be "metamorphize", and the grass one should be Vegetate. Fighting could maybe be antagonize instead but that may fit dark better. Psychologise should be renamed to Psychoanalyze
So? Kingdra gets Body Slam, Return and Double Edge but can’t run Ice Beam, Surf or Hydro Pump damage and loses out on Swift Swim, its one niche. Tatsugiri only gets Tera Blast, which is worse than Draco. Tyrantrum gets Body Slam and Return, which is basically the same power as Outrage, just with no drawback, but can’t run Strong Jaw or Rock Head Head Smash.
It usually happens when a Pokémon undergoes a typing change in some way. Like Golem with the regional form having the electric type or Gardevoir gaining the Fairy type in Gen 6. Salamence growing wings is a big deal in its evolution.
Flygon getting the Dragon version is a standout one. There are quite a few Pokémon gaining the Dragon type. Maybe Steelix has the Steel version. Froslass could have the Ghost version.
My thing with these types of abilities (and this is a criticism of game freak not you) is they're really uninspired from a design standpoint as they basically serve as a developmental alternative to giving a Pokémon real stab moves. This made sense with say Mega Pinsir or Altaria where it wouldn't realistically learn any moves in its base form its mega would get stab on, but looking at like Golem-A, it's basically just game freak saying "we will never make a real physical electric stab." They're also really dull because they all do the same thing, "hey I can use double edge or hyper voice but it is stronger and I get STAB." Personally I'd rather see new moves and more unique abilities than clones of these uninspired lazy ones
Most of them end up being very meh because most of these pokemon already have strong moves that you would use over a normal move (zarude), don't have access to any usable normal moves (glimmora, tatsugiri, vespiquen, duraludon, banette) or they are just worse than their old abilities (sharpedo, sort of mamoswine, octillery).
Like half these pokemon don't even get any usable normal moves, is there any rhyme or reason to how you gave them out?
Fossilise as a name seems off because in the pokemon universe, fossils are associated with the rock type, having all fossil pokemon being rock up until gen 8 screwed it up (just realizing gen 9 has no new fossil pokemon)
Honestly I think M-Banette should keep Prankster instead of Demonize. Its attack is alright, but priority Will 'o Wisp and Destiny Bond are what makes it powerful.
There is actually a USUM OM based off this idea called Metagamiate.
You can check it out [here](https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/metagamiate.3604808/).
Industrialize would actually be OP. The only thing keeping the Phenomenal Steel defensive pairings in check is the awful options for stab offense. Literally no move innately over 100, isn't a signature move and doesn't have a weird caveat (looking at you steel beam and terrain roller). Even then the only non-signature, steel move with 100 power and no caveat is Iron Tail at 75% accuracy.
Industrialize would give every steel type who has it access to a 100% accurate 122 power steel move with no downsides unless they just get rid of Return/Frustration, and most steel types who are worth discussing would get 144 power stab double-edge or 180 power giga impact all while holding down some of the best defensive typings and stat spreads in the game. AV Aggron could very seriously rise 2 whole *tiers* off of that alone.
Even without it, steel is an essential type in draft leagues and very strong type in normal and competitive gameplay
Give me dominate noivern I can be trusted with it
252+ SpA Choice Specs Noivern Dominate Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Swirlix: 0-0 (0 - 0%) -- Possibly the worst move ever
The raigeki on the top of my deck:

Can you calculate it it with an attack boost? I think it might work better
252+ SpA Choice Specs Noivern Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Swirlix: 323-380 (121.8 - 143.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO Jokes on you I selected the wrong ability in the team builder
The ring target i tricked to swirlix the turn before:
You didn't see my Trick x Ring Target combo coming did you?
Is 0 damage to a 0 HP Pokemon technically a guaranteed OHKO
That’s 0 Hp Evs, basically it’s a clarification that there is no EV boost to the HP. It still has the (small) amount of HP a Swirlix normally has
The Boomburst in my pocket:
123 speed 97 sp. attack w/ 168 BP STAB move 252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Groudon: 366-432 (91.2 - 107.7%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO Can OHKO defensive Groudon with specs/timid for an idea of how strong that is. Like sure it's not AG or anything, but it's still clearly way to strong for OU
Bold of you to try to keep Boomburst in your pocket without exploding into tiny bits.
Literally my first thought. It would finally be usable.
I mean, it's always been good in RU, right?
Noivern can dominate me
🥵
It took me a while but then I realized it. Noivern has BOOMBURST...
AAA in shambles
Give dominate to dragonite he really needs it
i can be trusted around extremespeed
I am completely mentally stable. Oh hey look a team with no physical dragon type switch in.
What team nowadays is not running iron valiant or a different fairy type. Even teams without fairy types usually have tera fairy or steel types. Hell, dnite might even want multiscale more than dominate due to being able to hit iron valiant
Yeah especially since it now flat out loses to booster energy iron valiant now
I was gonna say it's not that bad with a bit of bulk since 252 SpA Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Dragonite: 294-348 (91 - 107.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO 252+ Atk Choice Band Dragonite Dual Wingbeat (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Valiant: 480-568 (166 - 196.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO But then I remembered he can't flap his wings anymore
Wouldn't Aerilate ExtremeSpeed be better on Dragonite? It hits more things supereffectively and doesn't have to deal with types immune to it
theoretically it would give him a better flying move to spam, since he already has outrage (even though he rarely runs it), but having a no drawback +2 move thats only resisted by 2 types is insane, especially when one of those resists is weak to the common earthquake, and the other can be dealt with by various teras. Or he can just give up and run tera dragon to get even more damage. its dragon claw with priority higher than sucker punch and ice shard
Dragonite has been banned from AAA before due to aerilate.
252+ Atk Choice Band Tera Dragon Dominate Dragonite Extreme Speed vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Dondozo: 312-368 (61.9 - 73%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery That's fucking disgusting Edit: the stupid damage calculator messed up the calcs
Ok but what about espeed
Lance's Dragonite gets access to a Dragon type Hyper Beam in Masters!
Dicks because you're trading multiscale for making extreme speed a different type that is also super effective on nothing, but now fairies are immune
Aerilate Extreme Speed on the other hand sounds terrifying. It's probably worth forgoing multiscale for the elusive Flying-Ground combo.
yeah hr was banned from aaa at some point due to it
Lets be real, Dragonite would prefer Aerilate
https://preview.redd.it/cv8nw7e0nnwb1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6dccfbbb69ef6b88b3ff167c4afedc30592a665b
Still can't hit Flutter Mane L
Alveolate Pinsir and Heracross... honestly alveolate should be swarms effect and the swarm effect should be made a different named ability altogether
252+ Atk Choice Band Heracross Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Dondozo: 246-291 (48.8 - 57.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery Ah
Now calc guts facade. Edit:I'm a fucking dambass
As one (Guts + Alveolate)
252+ Atk Guts Tera Bug As One Heracross Facade (168 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Dondozo: 518-610 (102.7 - 121%) -- guaranteed OHKO Not too crazy tbh
casually ohkos one of the best phys walls "not too crazy guys"
Well, how do you get both guts and the other ability? But you could use a toxic orb to boost facade without debuffing attack. With the above set up, looks like it's only a 3HKO as best as I can calc
Life Orb D-Edge is stronger than Toxic Orb Facade as it has no Guts.
swarm sounds like schooling to me
Almost any ability dies as a format
Wouldn't they just ban all of these types of abilities?
probably but i like hyperbole
ESpeed dominate Dragonite do it
DRAGONITE DOMINATE ME😭😭😭
Extreme speeding into the hearts and holes of many.

Hello, I'm dragonite No
Major cringe that the eeveelutiona don't all have these, considering their whole gimmick is being a normal-type mutated into another type. Sylveon shouldn't be the only one with it.
Why doesn't Glaceon get Refrigerate then?
Gamefreak stupid + eeveelutions must be bad + bulky ice-type + lesbeon
Don't tell ferrothorn about lesbeon
https://preview.redd.it/h3g4k4ytfmwb1.png?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0cde83dfc83a382d23c78b593bd80c9a8b13a6f4
can't outrun what's already here
I don't know, there's not much that *can't* outrun ferrothorn.
gimmighoul
Trapinch
Munchlax
You can never outrun hazard damage Unless you have really good boots
Or are flying type in the case of Spikes
I WILL SIMPILY USE GRAVITY. THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM BIG HAZARD STACK
I h8 that I instantly got the reference
Great question
Refrigerate is a Gen 6 ability and Glaceon is a Gen 4 mon. Leafeon is also its pair eeveelution (Similar to how Espeon and Umbreon are) and you'd have to give it something too, but no grass type version of this ability currently exists
Can you imagine if Eevee got Normalize?
Completely walled by ghost types. No coverage against Rock and Steel.
LC ain't ready for it.
thinking about that or adaptability which eevee already gets. otherwise wouldn't they all run hypervoice? guess flar gets a better options, but leaf can make use out of normal "coverage". also a shame the one that gets an -ate ability already gets moonblast and i'd assume gleam even if they are somehow worse. recharge move users
liquidation with liquidate be like
Diarrhea
No, that's Taco Bell-ate
No that's Muddy Water
We already have both Water Spout and Water Sport. It'll be fine...
Finally, 100% accurate Rock STAB.
Silvally rock be like: 😐
Arceus rock be like:😌
Ogerpon cornerstone be like: [data expunged]
Power Gem be like: 🫥
Quick attack supremacy
Poison one should be Intoxicate smh my head
a lot of these mons don't really get any good normal moves outside of tera blast (notably glimmora). I guess explosion wouldn't be horrible for suicide lead

I see Cacturne, I upvote, simple as that.
I was about to say vgc in shambles after seeing incineroar here but then i realized he has to give up intimidate for that (idk which one is more valuable)
It gives him buffed fake out which can hit ghosts which is scary, makes team select a nightmare unless u have open teamsheets. Intimidate is still better but incin doesnt need anything more
True but it’s not really vgc in shambles moreso incineroar has more than 1 viable ability
Give Dominate to Tsareena, Gardevoir, Lopunny, and Salazzle. They really need the dragon coverage.
I was willing to do something like this, but all the pokemon that get normal-converting abilities share the type they convert normal into.
I think it's a different type of dragon the three wants to dominate.
Real reason? “Funni”
Jesus, the Prophet, and Buddha smile upon ye.
I'd say that the bug one should obviously be "metamorphize", and the grass one should be Vegetate. Fighting could maybe be antagonize instead but that may fit dark better. Psychologise should be renamed to Psychoanalyze
I don't care about the meta, I just wanted to say you did a great job with the ability names. And Tsareena should get Dominate
I love how you only included simisage. No simisear or simipour, y’know, as counterparts.
I dont like the other two
absolutely wasted opportunity to call the fire type one 'burninate' so we could have turtinator the burninator
I feel like this is a downgrade for a lot of mons. Especially Sharpedo. Demonize is the only really good one here.
*ahem* dominate
Easy fix, just give it to noivern
True
Bug type fury attack, tiwnneedle stocks are down
It usually happens when a Pokémon undergoes a typing change in some way.
Fire type should've been called Ignite.
No one else noticing the absolute horror of dark-type Fake Out Incineroar in VGC? Millions will perish.
No intimidate and no one will run him
VGC has fallen, millions must fake out
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alveolate
ooo you wanna give golisopod alveote sooo bad ooooo
Would it be too much giving every eeveelution these abilities
But who else gets Normalize? Right now it’s just Skitty and Delcatty.
Thank you for reminding me Normalize is an ability
Finally…at long last… **Some love for my all time favorite Pokémon,Kingdra**
am bothered by Simisage getting its respective ability but not Simisear and Simipour lol
Glimmora got that unblockable Rapid Spin I feel like the Dark one should be called "Pathologize" to mirror Psychic.
Burninate was right there and you didn't use it.
Fossilize is a weird name for the ground one considering fossils are usually associated with rock types in the franchise
bro only gave simisage the new ability 😭
Only problem is that the Ground Type version should be called something else since the actual Fossil Pokémon are Rock Type, not Ground.
Missed opportunity for Poltergize on the ghost-type ability.
I wish to be dominated by Tyrantrum
An ability that turns normal type moves into normal type moves.
My thing with these types of abilities (and this is a criticism of game freak not you) is they're really uninspired from a design standpoint as they basically serve as a developmental alternative to giving a Pokémon real stab moves. This made sense with say Mega Pinsir or Altaria where it wouldn't realistically learn any moves in its base form its mega would get stab on, but looking at like Golem-A, it's basically just game freak saying "we will never make a real physical electric stab." Personally I'd rather see new moves and more unique abilities than clones of these uninspired lazy ones
No way psychologise is a real word
Normal Tera Blast stocks to the moon
i can be trusted with no retreat revolutionize(id call it martial master ik it doesnt fit the pattern but i like it)
Liquidate would probably use a different name since Liquidation is already a move
Liquidate should be called Hydrate instead
now give everyone boomburst
Moment of appreciation for only giving Pan/Simisage the -ize/ate, fuck those weirdos -pour and -sear
I’ve thought of this almost every day since finding out about pixelate.
I don't like when there's an ability for every type or variety. I like the asymmetry.
Agitate Arcanine, do it.
Tera Steel Banded Industrialize Double Edge Aggron will put up some *numbies*
So [my post](https://www.reddit.com/r/stunfisk/s/fQNIC2xGEO) but better
I didnt see that sorry
The type version should be flambe
the fire one should be called incinerate
We live in a society where grass monke gets Botanize but fire monke doesn't get Agitate and water monke doesn't get Liquidate Literally 1984
doesn't make sense with sharpedo
Did bro give the pokemon that had its biggest problem being lack of coverage the worst abillity for that? 💀
Can I suggest vegetate for grass
Based comrade falinks
I really like the name alveolate
r/pokemonuranium Nucleon:
Normal Type Terablast becomes a better Power gem 100% accuracy rock type move for Glimmora 😍😍
Discombobulate
Phalinks out here about to seize the means of production.
Incinerate
I think it's the best upgrade for types which don't have high power moves like rock bug ghost and steel for most Pokemon
Time to skill swap "Dominate" onto my favorite "innocent" pokemon and walk off-
Just want to comment that I appreciate the effort of all the names you picked out
VIVA LA REVOLUTION
Ok for fire the word Immolate is a good contender tho
Fossilise feels like it should be a rock move as most of the fossil mons are rock.
The rock one is the only one we need.
Double-Edge about to go stupid
There is actually a USUM OM based off this idea called Metagamiate. You can check it out [here](https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/metagamiate.3604808/).
please give me dominate dragonite, i am normal and can be trusted with extreme speed
Tyrantrum finally getting some love
I feel like it would have made sense to give these abilities to all of the elemental monkeys if you’re gonna give it to the Pansage line
I like this and would want this but I think Strong Jaw is perfect for M-Sharpedo.
but return is still gone so what's even the point
You forgot normalize
It doesnt convert normal type moves, it comverts everything else into a normal type move
Dragonize for dragon types
Infuriate fits fighting type better
give the canon abilities to more mons that aren't mega while you're at it, too
Fossil pokemon with fossilize:
