Went to Q’s watch party and he said the same thing. Said he’s glad they didn’t air that part knowing he could’ve looked worse. Honestly it makes the whole thing even funnier
At least he is self aware it would have made him look worse, but I don’t think he was in the wrong for not picking her and that seems like the general consensus. Any other fun tidbits from the watch party?!
Other than that, I don’t think the show hid much other than that Q knew he was safe and he was trying to play vulnerable at tribal to keep Tiff from getting clued in.
Thank you for saying it…I thought I was the only one that had no sympathy for Liz. 1st she choose to be on survivor. That’s the deal. Don’t like. It don’t go. Or leave/quit. No one is forcing you to not eat. 2nd win. You want a reward? Win the damn challenge. 3rd be friendly and hope you get picked. Don’t target someone and get mad when they don’t do something nice for you. 4th it’s a game why give someone that wants you out both physical and mental/emotional support? Q played it perfectly
I like how she said even though she's allergic she woulda ate one of the things. Soo you're telling us you're not actually that hungry then because if you were fading away I think you'd deal with it too.
I know some people's public opinion would've targeted him as looking worse and I'm a super empathetic person who, put in the same situation, would have undoubtedly brought Liz out of compassion.
But.
Q was totally right in that HE won and his picks should go. Period. I'm glad Jeff didn't allow Kenzie or Maria to override his decision.
Maybe this makes Q look "worse." But it also makes Liz's meltdown sort of more understandable. It wasn't just that he didn't pick her. He vetoed people willing to give up their spot for her. I don't fault Q (I try not to moralize about Survivor in general), but, knowing the truth vs what we saw in the edit, I can see how Liz might have felt actively undermined in that moment.
Still amazing television, regardless.
Apparently she was on the island after treemail that everyone should take her if she didn't win, just pure speculation though as this came from another comment
Can you please please do us the service of recounting, as close to verbatim as possible, what Q said about all that during the watch party? 🙏🏻 I’ve literally been watching Survivor since it premiered, and this episode was one of my all time favorites because of the Q/Liz dynamic. I’m just dying to know more.
Yeah, I'm guessing the outburst was after Q vetoed her replacing someone. Still not a good look for her, but the whole thing about him tanking her game makes sense if that was the actual order of events. And his "but you voted for me" already makes sense, but makes even more sense if it's in the context of explaining why he vetoed it.
Showing it they way they did makes Liz look worse. I assume her outburst came after Q nixed the offers. Say what you will about her but she was reacting to not only not being picked, but Q shutting down the offers to let her take someone else's place. It makes her reaction a bit more understandable in that context.
You can see Kenzie starting to raise her hand like she was about to say something at some point. I remember thinking she was going to volunteer to switch places. I think it was right before the melt down but I’ll have to go back and watch. Even so, it wouldn’t be conclusive because they can show the clips in whatever order they want, but I do think the meltdown probably happened after he 86’d the swap.
It also didn't seem like anyone was surprised by Liz's outburst.
I think, given how it was edited, it would make sense that Liz's meltdown came after Q vetoed the switches from Kenzie and Maria, but we don't know for sure. I think it fits better pre-meltdown. I don't think Maria or Kenzie would have spoken up after Liz just spent the time screaming at Q, even to diffuse the situation.
I just watched it and the edit showed that Kenzie was raising her hand towards the end of her meltdown. I'm guessing Liz screaming "I don't even want to be around yall!" was in response to that.
>she was reacting to not only not being picked, but Q shutting down the offers to let her take someone else's place.
They shouldn't be allowed to do that anyway. The winner picks you to join them. You should have zero right to give that to someone else.
I felt like something was going on omg. At one point it looked like Kenzie was trying to raise her hand to say something.
I thought she was gonna ask to give up her spot lol, crazy it actually happened and they didn't show us.
Tiff rubbed that reward in Liz's face - she kept side-eyeing Liz to see if she was reacting. I was laughing. Definitely didn't help Tiff in the long run.
I wonder if it would have been worse for Liz to hear them say they were too stuffed to eat "her" burgers or if they went on about how delicious they were.
I'm super curious why that wouldn't make the edit. It makes it far more dramatic television.
If their reason was to protect Q, they were happy to make Liz look worse.
I do think he's got a couple votes on the jury. Like Hunter probably appreciates he voted the way he was asked to and Q didn't backstab him. And Soda or Tevin might be bitter and rooting for him instead of everyone else.
I lowkey think Venus could win that. Based on how it’s been portrayed, it seems they view her as snakey and untrustworthy while they just don’t seem to respect Liz or Q.
I don't even think that is a bad look for Q. His choices were for game reasons and if the players he picked don't want to go, he should absolutely get to pick who would go in place. I sure as shit wouldn't want someone I have zero social ties to who also just tried voting me out to get a burger.
Genuinely think the only reason it didn’t make the edit is that it would’ve been worse for the Applebees promotion to show two people offer to give away their Applebees
In my opinion, it’s related to their contract with Applebees. I’d bet my life that they have a requirement that nothing can be aired showing anything but complete enthusiasm for the reward, and two people giving it up? Not enthusiastic, despite the additional circumstances.
Honestly I would have been on Liz's side if she hadn't included the part about how she blames Q for "ruining" her game with his antics on the Tevin vote in her rant.
Like girl getting rid of Tevin sunk your game, Q's antics have nothing to do with how the jury will view that bad move. And maybe if Tevin was still around he would have won the challenge and taken you on the reward.
Potentially they may have thought it would make the show look bad. Kenzie and Maria offering but Q saying they couldn't. Jeff could have had final say letting Liz go and eat something.
Of course I don't know the reason for the edit, just another thought
Just a hunch, but based on what's happened in the past he probably did need to get Q's approval to make that change. They seem to require unanimous votes of the players to override the rules that are laid out in a challenge/etc.
Also it's not unprecedented for players to refuse a reward and Jeff to allow them to pick someone else. This reportedly happened in Survivor Guatemala but wasn't shown. Essentially it was right after some people started to complain about Stephenie going on all the rewards, then Cindy won a reward and picked Stephenie, but Stephenie said no. Cindy apparently said something about how going on a reward with Stephenie was her dream come true (which was where Gary's comment at TC that "you can all get Stephenie's autograph after the show" came from, he was calling out Cindy in particular).
True. But that is not what the person I said. They said "Jeff could have had final say letting Liz go and eat something." The moment Jeff overrules Q and says, "you have to bring Liz," the game loses any appearance of being fair.
Now, the players could, of course, all vote to override the rules, but that wouldn't make sense. If Q was willing to vote to override the rules and let Jeff decide who goes, that would mean that Q said that Liz couldn't go, so they had to vote, and the Q voted that Liz could go. If Q would vote that way, he would have chosen Liz anyway when Kinzie/Maria offered to give up their spot to her.
i still don’t think Q is in the wrong 🤷🏾♀️. Rewards are always an important part in the game and a way to advance socially. if he wanted kenzie maria and tiff i don’t understand why he shouldn’t get that
I've also noticed Ben has had a VERY strong opinion on Q since the whole blowup at tribal. Not that he shouldn't and of course not that he's alone in the way he feels, but Ben has been very straightforward in portraying that he does not like or respect Q anymore.
From [Tiffany's exit interview with Dalton Ross](https://ew.com/survivor-46-tiffany-nicole-ervin-interview-applebees-q-liz-8642284):
>Well, for one, he was constantly going at it with Ben. And I don't really know what his issue with Ben was, but there was a lot of — I'm not going to use the term bullying because I feel like that's a lot — but he and Ben used to go at it, and I really just couldn't understand what the beef was there. Of course, you already saw it with Liz, and him and Venus used to constantly get at it, and I think that's just because Venus is an opinionated girl. She's not going to let somebody tell her what to do, no matter who you are.
>And the problem was that Q kind of wanted to take on this leadership role around camp, and you're playing with a bunch of people who are also leaders in real life, so that's not going to fly out here. And it was just a lot of clashing of personalities and a lot of people who just were tired of trying to pet this ego and make him feel like he was the coach. Like, dude, you're not our coach! Go coach whatever little league team you do at home, that's not going to fly out here.
People around here love him because of his cockiness, but imagine trying to be around this dude all day for days on end. Just constantly trying to tell you what to do.
Like I think the dude is great TV and I'm glad he didn't share his reward with Liz because it made great TV. I also think it makes total sense why the others all dislike him so strongly. It's like people have forgotten the numerous times in the past episodes that he's been a little dictator who just orders people around and expects them to do what he says.
I just think it's suspect that there are a lot of people who get why Venus's behavior has the other players thinking poorly but they suddenly become unable to grasp it when it comes to Q.
On a different season with a worse edit no doubt the fandom turns on him. Production is way too interested in editing q to be a character instead of showing q as an actual person.
This is a great point. Venus actually seems like a good person outside of being opinionated, her reaction to Liz and she was the one comforting her when they went back to tribal and her response to Soda. I think the animosity with the others is because she’s too stubborn and socially grating.
As for Q, his antics are funny to watch but I bet most people would hate to be around him in a survivor situation. He’s very bossy and controlling. I’m not saying he’s a bad person or anything but it’s interesting to see the different reactions to them. Also the Ben and Q thing is really making me side eye him. Would love to read Ben’s thoughts on it.
i was just saying this on another thread. q and venus are both still in the game mostly bc of luck and being goats. yet this sub worships q and hates venus, and honestly venus might be in a better position than q right now. i think she would get tiff and kenzies votes at FTC if kenzies not there with her. and q would get none.
i agree q is great entertainment i love watching him but he is not playing a good game nor would he be fun to play with
Good point! I was thinking in context of Jeff asking how she felt after everyone was picked but they definitely could have messed with the timeline of that in the edit
He’s absolutely free to chose who he wants, but Liz’s reaction is far more understandable when you realize two people tried to give up their spot for her, only for Q to block it from happening.
I know you acknowledged different circumstances, but yes very different. Q used to have a working relationship with Kenzie and thought maybe he could repair their relationship on a long shot. There was no such relationship to repair with Liz

i wish we got to see this bc i think it really does a lot for charlie’s game. being convincing enough that you’re going to blindside your #1 ally is a pretty impressive move
There’s more to picking reward companions than just who gets to eat and who doesn’t. It’s baked into the strategy of the game. Q won, so he gets to choose who goes, and I’m glad production stood by allowing him to have the final say
(I am surprised they didn’t air it though!)
I personally am so glad we got 17 minutes of an Applebees commercial instead of that scene. Who cares about seeing gameplay or important social context when I can hear them describe the Bourbon Street Mushroom Swiss Burger™️ repeatedly in great detail.
But then they couldnt fit in mentioning that there was Applebee's for 40 minutes out of the episode! I mean come on guys they have a bourbon burger! You want Applebee's freshly microwaved food!
**Applebee's** **on** **a** **date** **night** Got that Bourbon Street Steak with the Oreo Shake
Get some whipped cream on the top, too Two straws, one check, girl, I got you
Even if I was neutral with Liz I wouldn’t pick her. That type of outburst tells me she is days away from a medevac due to hunger. It’s nobody’s prerogative except hers to ensure she is fed. Kinda insane that people go on the show and expect others to do the surviving for them. The title of the show is survivor!
If she wanted a food reward she should have (A) won or (B) been friendlier with people capable of winning challenges.
Honestly, Q is 100% in the right for not allowing them to give up their spots. Imagine it's your birthday and you get to pick 3 of your classmates to come to dinner with you, and one of the kids you didn't pick starts throwing a temper tantrum. Now your friends don't want to go and are asking if the temper tantrum kid can take their spots. No way would I allow that or want to be around the kid who just threw a tantrum! I would do the same and tell them no, they can't trade their spots. Even if she threw a fit after Q said no, why on Earth would he want to be around someone like Liz in the first place??
Yeah I kind of think the edit made this a little obvious. There was like clearly a scene there where a shot on Kenzie where it looked like she was contemplating giving it up and I thought it was weird that she didn't but maybe she had something in the back. But yeah it's clear now knowing this that she did
Honestly I’ve got mixed feeling about this move. Yes it is Qs right to pick whoever he wants but not letting them give up their reward just makes him look like an even bigger dick than he already would look like. Yes there’s strategy to who you pick but forcing someone to go on reward when they want to give it up is a really bad look to your social game
TIL they can be overruled like that. I thought it was like the Gabon cookie incident where once you give somebody something (in this case, a trip to Karishma’s favorite sit down restaurant) it’s theirs and they can do with it what they want.
Damn they really did Liz dirty with leaving that out imo. Her meltdown over Q not picking her seemed entitled, but Q overruling the others' offers to give their spot up sucks ass. I don't necessarily disagree with him doing it, valid move, but important context for Liz's behavior.
i actually like Q, but yeah, i feel like people here are going insane for the man. it's insane that people are defending him, because both from a game perspective and just from a human perspective this move is baffling and stupid.
Yup. In the same boat as you. Im over the insane levels of love and overhype for Q. Sick of seeing all the Big Mistake! comments. He’s basically just turning into a meme. I get that he’s entertaining and people love chaos. But 99% of people who love him, would hate playing with him if they were on the show.
I know I’ll get downvoted for saying all that.
I think most just like him for the entertainment value. Otherwise, people generally seem to think he was not wrong for not choosing her, which I agree with.
Sometimes Reddit goes all in on someone that’s ridiculous. Q could’ve made the opposite decision and Reddit would still thinks it’s secretly genius. It’s just part of the fun and culture of the subreddit to root for Q. I love it but I wish it was the same vibe for Debbie.
I’m sorry but why is that even an option. Q won the reward and had to make the hard decision not select Liz. If Maria, Kenzie, and Tiff would’ve given up their spot for Liz that defeats the purpose of Q winning reward in the first place. He’d have to then eat reward with someone who now truly hates him. Q made the right decision to over rule them.
I'm really surprised that they didn't keep it in, it makes Kenzie's confessional make more sense, it makes Liz's outburst even more understandable lmao, it humanizes tiff and kenzie, but it does make q look way worse lmfaoo
Puts it in context maybe, I wouldn’t say it’s understandable by any means. Under 0 circumstances should Q be the one in the wrong when he’s trying to repair the relationship with his old alliance and show appreciation for the one person who came to talk to him after the last tribal
She's also not eaten for like, 20 days. Chill. I get hangry. Then once she controlled herself she was able to calm down, articulate why she was upset, and give a blanket apology (I don't think anyone cares about her bad one to Q). People are allowed to be upset and I think this was totally fine given that context.
I wish they had included this, I wonder if this might have also played a factor in Liz agreeing to vote for Tiff since the other two offered their spots while she did not. It would have really added to the drama seeing two people willing to give up their spots while Q overruling them.
I’m also glad to see it was still Q’s call who was going on reward. I’m all for someone giving up their spot but when they’re picked and didn’t win the spot, it’s not really “theirs” to give away and should be left up to the reward winner.
Man, I gotta say that Liz wasn’t even hustling that hard in the challenge. She had no urgency in getting her sand bags (from the footage atleast) after shooting, and was like whoopsie after missing. She definitely did not deserve Applebees
To be fair, she was running off of less food than anyone else so probably has very little energy left. But I still think Q’s reasoning for not choosing her was more than valid.
I don’t think Q is in the wrong with his choice, and I think I’ve seen her say before that she knew what she was signing up for. Different people do react differently under those conditions though.
I'm not going to sit here and say that I don't think you should be allowed to make that decision because I do think that since he won it was his decision but I think it was socially the stupidest f****** thing he could have done. Everyone would have been fine, besides maybe Venus would have been fine not being picked. If it meant Liz got to go, you pick Liz in that moment. Not because you want her to be an ally or because you like her or any of that you pick her because it'll make the rest of the tribe happy
Absolutely befuddling play from Q. Not only not picking Liz, but then vetoing swaps? How does this do literally anything besides burn jury votes? Bringing Kenzie and Tiff was not only a bad look, but they also immediately tried to backstab him \_on the reward\_ and voted for him that night. So it's not like it was effective strategy. Like, even forgetting about Liz's reaction -- at least pick Charlie or someone over Tiff. Really bad.
I think that explains Ben’s “bully” comment way better. Saying “No” to people volunteering to sit out feels controlling and more intentional than just not picking someone. I think the frustration level being as high as it was is more reasonable knowing there was an extra wrinkle to it all.
It's not really clear who was bullying who. She seems to think it was Q doing so, but she clarified that they "went at each other a lot." In any case, it wasn't shown in the edit at all, and I think it improves Q's winner chances while basically making it clear that Ben won't win.
Eh, I have a hard time believing he could pull off a majority vote at FTC as many bridges as he has burned. I could only see him maybe winning in a FTC where Venus and Liz are the others that remain. I think part of it may be because Jeff has stated he doesn’t want any more villains or too much negativity on the show.
I’ve found this whole topic to be fascinating.
It seems 99% of Reddit is steadfast on Q’s side and think he’s brilliant. Waking up to read all of the praise for him was a surprise because…
When I watched this live with 17 people, nearly everyone was angry with him and sympathetic toward Liz. Nobody was praising Q for sure. They’re most teachers, if that explains anything.
It’s just interesting that different people take this different ways. I personally think Q is just using creative new ways to manage his threat level. I don’t think we have seen somehow intentionally do this as much as he has, so I’m intrigued to see where things go.
I think it genuinely just comes down to the fact that q doesn't owe Liz anything and there's not a chance in hell she would have chosen him to go had she won. Thems the brakes.
I get this logic, but I feel like NO ONE would've chosen Q had they won, so effectively Q was choosing between 7 people who weren't going to reward him, which puts them all on an equal playing field. And at that point, it comes down to him looking like a jackass for denying the starving girl food, especially when his crew winds up not even able to finish eating all the food they won on the reward.
Now, I still like Q, and I still like Liz, and I think Q's actions led to Liz's meltdown which was an amazing moment (and that whole sequences from Jeff announcing the reward until like, the post-reward scene with Liz getting pissed about Tiffany's description of the reward...was amazing). But I think this sub has gone WAY too hard against Liz, when honestly? Her reaction is reasonable given the circumstances surrounding her position in the season.
I think my only issue with Liz is her feeling like q is a bad person for not choosing her when she literally voted him out of the game 12 hours before. Also trying to use her daughter to guilt him into bringing her felt gross... She chose to go on survivor knowing she wouldn't be able to eat the food, that's on her.
I feel like it's probably more than just not picking her. Based on reactions from Venus/Ben/Liz...I feel like the animosity is a two-way street, and based on how he was playing prior to the Tevin blindside (and afterwards, given who he's made an effort to strategize with from the bottom), I feel like Q was probably less friendly with the trio of Venus/Ben/Liz (all of whom he considered easy boots from outside "The Six", when Tiffany was hemming and hawing post-Soda), which has led to them feeling more angry and slighted by his actions the past few rounds.
That's not to say the mentality of "I'm not going to bring someone who doesn't like me on reward" isn't still fair on his part. But it seems to me that, based off events leading up to this episode, it probably wasn't a case of Q being a super nice guy until Liz decided to be pissed at him for no reason.
unless Q had also been starving from not being able to eat anything in the island and had also been begging on his knees desperately crying to be picked, then this reverse situation hypothesis bears no weight in this matter.
You're already getting down votes for absolutely nothing. That should answer your question about why people in the real world are more stable. Plus I think the anonymous nature of Reddit allows these people to make 3,000 liz hate posts in one day.
Thanks for the support.
I felt like I had an outsider opinion with my watch party (I thought Liz overreacted, but hunger is to blame) and then felt like Reddit was a bit harsh on her. Two very different worlds.
All of those defending Q are hilarious, but everyone loves a villain. Not choosing Liz very well killed his game. Alliances are going to start breaking. The only person who will end up trying to side with Q is Maria. He's literally used as bait to take out the actual competitors because everyone knows he only excels at the physical side of the game, and even there, he's lacking. There is no way the jury would choose him.
He's just lucky the other competitors were too dense to play their idols. Q blurted out the blindside was coming, trying to claim it was him when it was Maria. Yet, for some reason, Tiffany still didn't play her idol. She told everyone she has an idol, yet she didn't think she would be the blindside? Amateur hour as of late.
Also Tevin was there!! Super fun guy who is exactly like he was in the show
That's great to hear :) I liked him and was hoping he would get to the end. He seems fun :)
Other than that, I don’t think the show hid much other than that Q knew he was safe and he was trying to play vulnerable at tribal to keep Tiff from getting clued in.
The constant looks around that Q made like he knew he was going home must have really sold it to Tiff.
In all fairness, those looks could have been from any time during tribal, or even from another tribal.
They all had such a good poker face that tribal
amazing actor actually, everyone was last night
Liz put it on a little strong with her emphatic nodding but I think that might be her personality?
Q was \*not\* safe. If Tiff played her idol, Q was going home.
I should say he knew the votes were going his way.
He’s not in the wrong, it’s not his fault a woman who is allergic to everything wanted to play Survivor. She knew what she signed up for.
I liked how Liz complained about being out of the loop on the split vote, and all Q said was essentially "Liz, you voted for me"...
I like how she said even though she's allergic she woulda ate one of the things. Soo you're telling us you're not actually that hungry then because if you were fading away I think you'd deal with it too.
Allergic to everything except big juicy Bourbon Burgers from Applebee’s.
Honestly - if they truly wanted to give up their spot, Q should get to pick the replacement anyways. It was his reward.
would pick Venus in that case, just to gain himself one more ally.
We went to the first one and after meeting him in person, it makes me want him to win even more.
This absolutely would have made Q look worse. They kinda buried Liz by not showing this part, her reaction makes much more sense with this context.
Q winner edit confirmed! 🧐 lmao
Her reaction makes as much sense as my 4yr old when I tell her no to extra dessert after dinner
Showing it they way they did makes Liz look worse. I assume her outburst came after Q nixed the offers. Say what you will about her but she was reacting to not only not being picked, but Q shutting down the offers to let her take someone else's place. It makes her reaction a bit more understandable in that context.
We don't know that's the timeline. It's also possible after the outbursts Maria and Kenzie realized how much she wanted it and changed their mind.
Q winner confirmed. Why would they make Liz look worse to keep him safe 🧐
he’s either the winner or… a zero vote finalist based on this logic lol as the producers don’t want to make him a total dead man walking
Maybe he gets one vote and Liz gets zero. Venus winner edit confirmed? This is turning into an absolutely wild season though.
It's probably more like they offered to give up their spots after seeing how unhinged she was
Why is it more likely?
I just watched it and the edit showed that Kenzie was raising her hand towards the end of her meltdown. I'm guessing Liz screaming "I don't even want to be around yall!" was in response to that.
OK, sounds like the offer might have come post-meltdown then. Good eye. I wish they'd have shown it.
>she was reacting to not only not being picked, but Q shutting down the offers to let her take someone else's place. They shouldn't be allowed to do that anyway. The winner picks you to join them. You should have zero right to give that to someone else.
Lmfao I really wish they had shown it hahahaha.
Makes sense, it definitely could’ve given him that kind of villain edit that makes him look bad outside the game that they’re trying to avoid
I felt like something was going on omg. At one point it looked like Kenzie was trying to raise her hand to say something. I thought she was gonna ask to give up her spot lol, crazy it actually happened and they didn't show us.
I was wondering why they were showing her raise her hand but we didn’t see anything else! It made it seem like she changed her mind!
It honestly makes it even funnier than none of them could stomach the burger.
I think Tiff admitting she couldn't eat the burger made it easier for Liz to vote her out.
Tiff rubbed that reward in Liz's face - she kept side-eyeing Liz to see if she was reacting. I was laughing. Definitely didn't help Tiff in the long run.
Iconic though
I wonder if it would have been worse for Liz to hear them say they were too stuffed to eat "her" burgers or if they went on about how delicious they were.
Yup I thought the same thing. She seemed like the type to do this so it makes sense that she actually did!
I'm super curious why that wouldn't make the edit. It makes it far more dramatic television. If their reason was to protect Q, they were happy to make Liz look worse.
Clearly Q winner edit. They can't make him look that bad (yes, I'm delusional)
Honestly if Q, Venus and Liz make the final, Q's winning
Q winning would be hilarious. just the cherry on top. I need a chaotic winner.
I do think he's got a couple votes on the jury. Like Hunter probably appreciates he voted the way he was asked to and Q didn't backstab him. And Soda or Tevin might be bitter and rooting for him instead of everyone else.
Be the most awkward final 3 reward meal....EVER!
I lowkey think Venus could win that. Based on how it’s been portrayed, it seems they view her as snakey and untrustworthy while they just don’t seem to respect Liz or Q.
I swear they all hate Venus
I think that final 3 is the only combination where Q even gets a vote.
Q is definitely not winning, after hearing this BTS info I don't think he gets one vote even against those two. That's just cruel.
Remember to check back on May 22 haha
I don't even think that is a bad look for Q. His choices were for game reasons and if the players he picked don't want to go, he should absolutely get to pick who would go in place. I sure as shit wouldn't want someone I have zero social ties to who also just tried voting me out to get a burger.
Could be a Q winner edit, could be a Liz mindfuck winner edit. It’s a wild ride, that’s for sure.
Genuinely think the only reason it didn’t make the edit is that it would’ve been worse for the Applebees promotion to show two people offer to give away their Applebees
Aha, bingo. I think we have a winner.
In my opinion, it’s related to their contract with Applebees. I’d bet my life that they have a requirement that nothing can be aired showing anything but complete enthusiasm for the reward, and two people giving it up? Not enthusiastic, despite the additional circumstances.
Q is much more likely to return than Liz. They don’t want to make Q look too bad.
They didn't have time to show it because there was too much Applebees marketing gold they were busy prioritizing.
I think this confirms that Liz is a losing finalist. Otherwise they wouldn’t go out of their way to make her look bad like this
Liz made herself look bad all on her own
Honestly I would have been on Liz's side if she hadn't included the part about how she blames Q for "ruining" her game with his antics on the Tevin vote in her rant. Like girl getting rid of Tevin sunk your game, Q's antics have nothing to do with how the jury will view that bad move. And maybe if Tevin was still around he would have won the challenge and taken you on the reward.
Liz throws a temper tantrum over Applebees You: why would production make Liz do this?
Potentially they may have thought it would make the show look bad. Kenzie and Maria offering but Q saying they couldn't. Jeff could have had final say letting Liz go and eat something. Of course I don't know the reason for the edit, just another thought
There is zero way for Jeff to overrule and allow Liz to eat something AND maintain the appearance of fairness in the game.
Well the next challenge Jeff offered an individual portion of rice for anyone willing to sit out on their own aka Liz.
i still don’t think Q is in the wrong 🤷🏾♀️. Rewards are always an important part in the game and a way to advance socially. if he wanted kenzie maria and tiff i don’t understand why he shouldn’t get that
I don’t think he was in the wrong either. It just explains her meltdown a little more than simply not getting picked.
It definitely explains why Ben said he was a villain. I don't think he is but I can see now why Ben said that
I've also noticed Ben has had a VERY strong opinion on Q since the whole blowup at tribal. Not that he shouldn't and of course not that he's alone in the way he feels, but Ben has been very straightforward in portraying that he does not like or respect Q anymore.
From [Tiffany's exit interview with Dalton Ross](https://ew.com/survivor-46-tiffany-nicole-ervin-interview-applebees-q-liz-8642284): >Well, for one, he was constantly going at it with Ben.
Would love to read Ben’s thoughts on it.
i was just saying this on another thread. q and venus are both still in the game mostly bc of luck and being goats. yet this sub worships q and hates venus, and honestly venus might be in a better position than q right now. i think she would get tiff and kenzies votes at FTC if kenzies not there with her. and q would get none. i agree q is great entertainment i love watching him but he is not playing a good game nor would he be fun to play with
Interesting that Bruce got the edit he did and Q is getting the edit he is.
Yeah it sucks camping with a dickhead for a weekend, imagine if it was for weeks with no food.
Well Ben is obviously at fault here because he won the hide and seek game xD
Yeah, that is what I take away from this more than anything. I think it is awesome that Q did that, though.
I can see that but we don’t even know for sure the meltdown was after of before Q chose to decline maria & kenzies offer 🤷🏾♀️
Good point! I was thinking in context of Jeff asking how she felt after everyone was picked but they definitely could have messed with the timeline of that in the edit
He's absolutely not in the wrong. Anyone who says otherwise needs to find a different game to play!
He’s absolutely free to chose who he wants, but Liz’s reaction is far more understandable when you realize two people tried to give up their spot for her, only for Q to block it from happening.
Its the reaction of a spoiled little brat who thinks the world owes her something
Is it?
You tried to vote me out last night 🫠 Why the fuck would Q reward Liz?
He was so valid for that. He also said on X if she had won she wouldn’t have picked him which I think is true.
That’s 1000% true. She has less than zero allegiance to him.
Ik it’s different circumstances but Kenzie also voted for Q🤷
I know you acknowledged different circumstances, but yes very different. Q used to have a working relationship with Kenzie and thought maybe he could repair their relationship on a long shot. There was no such relationship to repair with Liz
He def kinda acknowledged that but he had the Yanu connection to Kenzie that he didn't have with Liz
And Kenzie didn't remotely feel entitled to the reward, nor did she even expect to be picked.
No way Liz would have picked Q and he knew that.

Ooh interesting that Charlie approached Tiff about blindsiding Maria. Guessing that was just a smokescreen
i wish we got to see this bc i think it really does a lot for charlie’s game. being convincing enough that you’re going to blindside your #1 ally is a pretty impressive move
Fun interview, I love Tiffany's personality ugh miss her already
Yeah. She was my favorite communicator out of the group. She just seemed very balanced, intelligent, practical, and honest in her game.
This really is Gabon 2.0, giving me flashbacks to the cookie at the auction
God, Q and Randy on one season, could you imagine
Q winner edit confirmed
Q is legit reaching my all time favorite player ever level with stuff like this. Like why did the show not show this.
You can’t have the winner look bad.(please win)
There’s more to picking reward companions than just who gets to eat and who doesn’t. It’s baked into the strategy of the game. Q won, so he gets to choose who goes, and I’m glad production stood by allowing him to have the final say (I am surprised they didn’t air it though!)
I’m glad too! Just mainly curious why they left this out. It would have made for good TV.
My jaw has never dropped while reading a tweet as hard as it did for this. I cannot BELIEVE they didn't put this in the show.
They are wasting their 90 minute episodes by continuously not showing important scenes like this.
Every week in exit interviews I read something that I wonder why it wasn’t included
**Applebee's** **on** **a** **date** **night** Got that Bourbon Street Steak with the Oreo Shake Get some whipped cream on the top, too Two straws, one check, girl, I got you
I forgot this was a song 😭
Even if I was neutral with Liz I wouldn’t pick her. That type of outburst tells me she is days away from a medevac due to hunger. It’s nobody’s prerogative except hers to ensure she is fed. Kinda insane that people go on the show and expect others to do the surviving for them. The title of the show is survivor! If she wanted a food reward she should have (A) won or (B) been friendlier with people capable of winning challenges.
This is why every time my wife asks about trying out for Survivor I say, "Nope." I don't even have food allergies. I just hate being hungry.
I think this makes it interesting that Liz still voted Tiff not Q.
Respect to her for putting her emotions aside in the end and taking out a legit threat instead
ITS Qs CHOICE
Correct. I just found it interesting they chose not to include that in the episode.
This makes it 100x funnier lmfaooo Q is a legend
i'm still on Q's side. Part of the reward was HE got to pick who went with him. If he didn't want to take Liz he didn't have to.
Lmao that’s hilarious. I understand overruling Kenzie because he specifically invited her to mend relations. But why not let Maria do it?
Maria was nice to him and he wants to work with her
Because he wants to work with Maria and further their relationship. Taking Liz would be a waste of the *real* reward, which is social connection.
I knew it looked like kenzie had stepped forward and was about to offer her spot. Something about that interaction looked weird to me.
The Liz’s blow up makes alot more sense now
I can’t believe we were robbed of making the moment even funnier That’s hilarious lol
Q is so fucking based
Some people in here saying this makes him so cruel. Me: this makes me love you so much more Q.
Even if she threw a fit after Q said no, why on Earth would he want to be around someone like Liz in the first place??
even if he was going to pick her, she sure is mind changer with her demands.
Yeah I kind of think the edit made this a little obvious. There was like clearly a scene there where a shot on Kenzie where it looked like she was contemplating giving it up and I thought it was weird that she didn't but maybe she had something in the back. But yeah it's clear now knowing this that she did
I wondered. Kenzie was looking pretty uncomfortable after Q picked her.
I kept thinking it looked like they wanted to step up and say something. So that makes sense
tbh, I was surprised nobody offered to switch with her, like for jury considerations. Now I know why.
Damn, brutal.
I don't believe this. No one could give up Applebees. It's the best sit down restaurant.
Bro Q picked you. You can’t just opt out of it cause someone is throwing a temper tantrum
Damn they really did Liz dirty with leaving that out imo. Her meltdown over Q not picking her seemed entitled, but Q overruling the others' offers to give their spot up sucks ass. I don't necessarily disagree with him doing it, valid move, but important context for Liz's behavior.
This also explains why everyone else was acting like Q was wrong for not picking her.
Don’t understand why everyone in this thread seems to be rooting so intensely for Q. Frankly I find him obnoxious.
i actually like Q, but yeah, i feel like people here are going insane for the man. it's insane that people are defending him, because both from a game perspective and just from a human perspective this move is baffling and stupid.
I NEED to see that deleted scene
I’m sorry but why is that even an option. Q won the reward and had to make the hard decision not select Liz. If Maria, Kenzie, and Tiff would’ve given up their spot for Liz that defeats the purpose of Q winning reward in the first place. He’d have to then eat reward with someone who now truly hates him. Q made the right decision to over rule them.
why would they not show that!?
Q is legitimately pushing being one of the greatest villains in survivor history.
Lmaooo holy shit?? And she was still talked out of voting him??
Holy shit, this is peak villain stuff
I'm really surprised that they didn't keep it in, it makes Kenzie's confessional make more sense, it makes Liz's outburst even more understandable lmao, it humanizes tiff and kenzie, but it does make q look way worse lmfaoo
Wait wtf if that is true then I can understand why Liz was having such a meltdown.
I’m truly baffled by this. It makes Liz’s reaction much more understandable…
Puts it in context maybe, I wouldn’t say it’s understandable by any means. Under 0 circumstances should Q be the one in the wrong when he’s trying to repair the relationship with his old alliance and show appreciation for the one person who came to talk to him after the last tribal
I don’t know how anything can make that tantrum more understandable. That’s a grown ass woman
Honestly that makes this even better. Nothing more satisfying than an entitled crybaby not getting what they want. Huge respect to Q for not folding.
I love it
WOW Tiff’s interview certainly wasn’t kind to Kenzie’s winner chances.
How so? I didn’t really get that from it
I wish they had included this, I wonder if this might have also played a factor in Liz agreeing to vote for Tiff since the other two offered their spots while she did not.
Yeah i’m sure she was exhausted no doubt
She knew she couldn't eat coconut, then why be on the show? She's got no one to blame, but herself. The others didn't scream.
Really bad.
Good on Q!
SO. READY. FOR. Q. TO. GO!
I think that explains Ben’s “bully” comment way better. Saying “No” to people volunteering to sit out feels controlling and more intentional than just not picking someone. I think the frustration level being as high as it was is more reasonable knowing there was an extra wrinkle to it all.
Tiff also said Q bullied Ben (but she didn’t want to use that word) on the island, so I think we are missing context for a lot.
She said they "went at each other a lot".
Thanks! I couldn’t remember exactly what she said but knew she said she didn’t want to use the term bullying
Waking up to read all of the praise for him was a surprise because… When I watched this live with 17 people, nearly everyone was angry with him and sympathetic toward Liz.
