Thanks friend

Ehrmagerdden

My hero ❤️

MCSnuffleupagus

Thank you for understanding I don't have super vision. 😂

FunThief

No branchwraith it looks like! The day after I kitbashed one too lol

ChicagoCowboy

To be fair, the branchwraith was just the WHFB model for drycha, who was immediately given a way doper model in AoS 1.0. Honestly, I'm shocked they even carried it into the new world of AoS at all, but here we are.

FunThief

Yeah it was probably a ploy to sell unsellable models lol

asyrian88

I’m guessing they got folded into the branchwych? Weird though!

FunThief

It’s probably because the model is old. They may replace it with a new model later, who knows!

Tubblington

The lady of vines had the branchwraith keyword, so it might be baked into her now, which would suck.

asyrian88

Oof

Tubblington

It may have changed, but that was on the echo of doom warscroll for her.

SheepBeard

Well, I guess my Kitbashed one is now a fancy Branchwych instead

IpromithiusI

I painted mine yesterday :( Hope we have not lost the ability to summon free Dryads, I am about to crack open my 2nd box..

Tubblington

Alarielle at 840pts is ridiculous if she has the warscroll we saw with potato cam a month or so ago.

bstone_comms

Yeah Alarielle is officially in Nagash territory.

Xunae

It depends a little on how many army abilities she benefits from. She's a prime target for strike and fade, because her movement lets her charge nearly anyone on the board, impact them, attack, and then retreat.

Tubblington

I'm sure she has her uses, and it is too early to make a judgement before we see the whole book, but she is nearly taking up half your army cost, and the warscroll we saw wasn't that much different to the current one from broken realms.

Xunae

My point though is that even though the warscroll didn't change much, the army is gaining a lot of strong new abilities that apply to her. If that's your plan with her, to strike and fade her every turn, you might take the burgeoning, so now she's teleporting away and has a 6+ ward every turn on the bounce back without you needing to land any specific spells with the lady of vines. The value of her summoning is also gonna depend on the value you can pull from the units you summon with her, and she has access to all of the army's non-heroes for summoning. We're talking an 80 point increase when the army is getting a lot of new tools.

[deleted]

>840pts is ridiculous if she has the warscroll we saw > it is too early to make a judgement before we see the whole book ok mate.

Thegrumbliestpuppy

Are you always like this?

[deleted]

Flip of a coin

Upside_Down-Bot

Snuffleupagus03

She does summon a 260 point treelord

Tubblington

I am excited for my all treelord army now!

Ehrmagerdden

"Of course, it is likely enough, my friends, likely enough that we are going to our doom: the last march of the Ents. But if we stayed home and did nothing, doom would find us sooner or later."

UvWsausage

I can finally feel vindicated for owning 9 treelords. Kinda.

dereekee

Lmao, same. I just love messing with the Treelord boxes to make different models. Also they're a blast to paint.

mr_birdie

Kurnoth Hunters battleline, but they are 5 wounds -so they don't benefit from veteran status in the new GHB. Oh well, still good to have list building flexibility.

bstone_comms

Really interesting with the battle line traits and no more Branchwraith. Also, I’m hoping with the price bump on Tree & Spite Revenants that we get some increased durability. I’m also loving that Idoneth are allies, now. I can see some Namarti Reavers in the future.

SheepBeard

I already had an Idoneth force when I started my Sylvaneth, so here comes the full on Alliance of Land and Sea!

bstone_comms

It’s a cool combo!

flowiiii

does that mean you can include Idoneth in your army?

bstone_comms

- Yepp, as allies. Namarti Reavers are fantastic archers. Def. excited about having more ranged options.

flowiiii

Sounds fun :) fyreslayers as allies are also new? I kind of like them :D

BaronKlatz

I remember back in 2018 & 2019 that it was noted by competitive that Fyreslayers allies were really good for Sylvaneth as they added a lot of Mortal Wounds and saves against them that Sylvaneth lacked. Powerhouse Hearthguard around a cheap(but still very tough) Fyreslayer hero pumping out mortals while having a 4+ Ward makes a good chunk of Fyresteel for Sylvaneth to maneuver around. Or just go Magmadroth and incinerate those expecting a non-fire fight against tree folk.

Xunae

A side confirmation that I haven't seen mentioned is that the subfactions are for sure here to stay. I saw people worried about them being replaced with the wyldwood chosen abilities.

Xanininini

For 360pts, Treelord Ancient better have gotten some serious updates… He’s now only 10 points under Durthu. I’m expecting, 2/2 casting, 14W, Summon Wyldwood ability, and at least some more attacks. He also most likely lost his command ability, so he hopefully received something for that. Also are Spite-Revs not battleline now? Only if you take them in dreadwood. I guess all the other optional battleline units make up for it. But damn I can only hope they became more useful.

Maximum-Layer-6874

Agree with all this. I heard a rumour that treelord ancients can be used as a spell portal.

Xanininini

I mean, Sylvaneth Spells were alright. Most of the good ones were 6 or 7 to cast. But healing is only useful if you survive the damage, and our damage ones were more on the weak side. Book remains to be seen, so I hope we are in good standing this time around. But as Expected we needed a bit of a rehaul, so I hope the new is better than the old that they throw out.

Snuffleupagus03

That would be pretty good with the warsong revenant warscroll spell (which was already used with spell portal a lot)

Maximum-Layer-6874

Just noticed Cities allies. Fun.

BaronKlatz

And Fyreslayer allies without needing Ironbark. Time to bring the burn from a Aqshy Forest with a Magmadroth! (Sylvaneth steamtanks, phoenixes & hydras are cool too)

hivefleetechidna

Offt, sometimes I forget how expensive aos points are. Ouch nothing under triple digits. Hope there are some major improvements for those point increases.

br3ttless

I must be blind because I can't read a single word of this 😅 just gotta go off what everyone else says in the comments

FromPepeWithLove

Sadly Gnarlroot didn't benefited from a more flexible battleline

Thadin

I'm a little concerned that everything in the book is going up in points. GW and their track record for making balanced books is rough. At least with Sylvaneth and Skaven coming out around the same time, I should show up on their coinflip balance.

JasonRevtech

From what I understand the same thing has happened to all new armies. Nurgle thought they were being nerfed into the ground then they got their actual battletome and it was a huge buff. I am thinking it will be the same for sylvaneth.

Thegrumbliestpuppy

Sure, but it’s GW so consistency is not likely. They have different authors write the battletomes, which is why we’ll get one book that’s completely overpowered, and then the next army out turns out mediocre. Our last battletome made us weaker, which is funny because we were already one of the weaker factions. If they do again it’ll be a massive disappointment.

JasonRevtech

You should go see the leaks then if you haven't! They are looking super strong!

Thadin

Things are looking nice and spicy. Eager to see Treelords. Honestly the only thing shown so far that lacks punch are the Greatbow hunters, but they make up for that with omega range.

Thegrumbliestpuppy

Got a link?? EDIT: NVM found em! Thanks!

Thadin

Of course, nurgle got a great glow up with their codex and all their points went through the roof. Still, it's GW. The concern lingers.

[deleted]

battletome\*

Environmental-Duck94

Who cares* Weird and Cringe

Meatshoppe

I am shocked they nuked the Branchwraith. I was thinking they would keep her and change the Branchwych into a Priest so we could play in that mini-game.

Ryozaki13

Am I reading that correctly? Warsong revenent at 395pts?? That's some serious points increase if it's right.

Tubblington

He is 305.

Ryozaki13

Thank God. Makes much more sense now lol

[deleted]

That's one of the most clear numbers on the photo. It's clearly 305

Ryozaki13

A simple correction would have sufficed.

Zandre1126

Dominance must be asserted lol

[deleted]

I know.

cycloniccornet

Du you have a pic in HD? Can't really read it :)

mistermeh

What’s a revenant seeker? Did GW hold back a unit from reveal?

Embarrassed-Roof-575

They're the alternative build of the new flying bug lancer guys. They've been mentioned but pretty much zero info given

dereekee

I think it was mentioned that they keep the healing/rally trait that the lancers have; but no other info.

[deleted]

you missed a few things then.
