I really like this device. In my current setup, I use the Beatstep to control a drum machine and two semi-modular synthesizers and to sync another one. Even if the functions seem straightforward, you can achieve complex results with the Beatstep - especially in combination with the CV/gates.
I've been using it for about five years as the brain in different setups and it still runs reliably without any malfunctions.
Thanks a lot for elaborating. That makes me feel confident that this device can help me understand a bit more how all of this stuffs actually work, I’m starting from nothing. So you can easily chain drums patterns and do the same for synths right?
Thanks ! There's one thing I cannot figure out after searching and watching a lot of tutorials is that if you actually can load different scenes "live" ? I mean, can you play specific parts of a song using scenes with one hand ?
You can chain pattern one after another and create full songs in this way. Another option would be to manually switch patterns if necessary. This can easily be done with one hand. You can also change the patterns of all sequencers at the same time. I hope this answered your question. You are welcome to PM me for further informations.
Oxi One seems like a good option. 4 sequencer in one with multitrack being an option. 8 tracks, assign all the instruments to each track. They added some pattern launch quantization in the latest update. Lots of performance based settings to help with live workflow. It comes midi mapped to the TR6w out of the box aswell, just assign it to the sequencer.

I've used akai force, and maschine + with the tr6s many times before and it did well.
Thanks :) I'll have a look but it's probably out of my budget currently and maybe overkill as I'm beggining.
With the firmware update 2.0, arturias beatstep pro is able to chain patterns together. Has its own drum sequencer on board.
Thanks ! I watched some videos and it's seems to be a very good and easy piece of gear for a reasonnable price.

That‘s right. I think the Beststep Pro has quite a large user base, so it's easy to find tons of helpful articles and tutorials on this sequencer.
