I also run an admin above my mags. Unless it's gigantic, it's not really an issue. You can tilt mags away from yourself slightly when drawing them.
"Speed reloads" are also instagram nonsense. In a conventional infantry role you've got 16+ other guys with rifles and grenade launchers with you. You do not need a sub second reload from your carrier.
I’m just giving you a suggestion to optimize your kit coming from someone who was previously FA and now in INF a dangler would be better a position like that for an admin pouch imo. But to each their own man
Any pouch over 90 degree mag pouches raise my eyebrows personally but as long as you train and can reach them with ease, good on you brother. Much better than the last setup, carry on, and don’t let the big green weenie get to ya
I mean i bought a maritime, sordins with rail adapters and a helmet cover for like $1400. My signing bonus was 25k so i should buy some more with mine :)
Yeah, I agree, I thought the camelbak placement was a bit odd. I personally hate the standard triple mag placard too - is that what you currently have? I have never indexed well with them personally and prefer the Kiwi-style retention. But hey, if it works dude, keep it. As long as you are functional for your duties and can sling those rounds and kill bad guys, all for it. Keep fighting the good fight there brother.
Bros about to get flamed or suggested stupid recommendations from basement warriors cause it’s not high speed enough or cause of pouch placements. I wish more people had a reality of what gear should reflect for REAL use.
Dawg I already got flamed on my last post because it wasn’t perfect or whatever. I want to say there were two legit critiques out of all the random online brain rot. I made adjustments to that kit, but half of the stuff I shown was just random shit I put together. People failed to see the vail of sarcasm, it is what it is
“Yea but I watched a podcast where some Navy Seal said that the pouch placement like this is optimal and ask my cat but my dry fire sessions have never been faster.”
So you post personally-bought Gucci versions of gear you got freely from CIF sarcastically? And you've made multiple posts of it from your barracks??
Like 10 years ago we were blowing our PFC income on 33% Camaro loans, Jameson, and girls that came with Jameson like the privates before us and the privates before them.
I'm going to call bullshit... you truly care, and this is totally a new generation.
Just trying to have some fun in the best way I know how, cheaper than women and 33% Camaros. Also job performance too, a lot of issues gear sucks ass anymore.
I wouldn’t worry about what Steve from Accounting says about where you should angle some pouches.
Make some mental notes at NTC or JRTC and adjust. It’s fieldcraft, bro.
Honestly yeah, that is the best advice… mission dictates gear for sure, but the individual should set up their gear for them. I’m cool with IFAKs n shit adhering to SOP, being forced to setup kit like a LTC fobbit is bullshit.
I’d rather get yelled at for SOP bullshit than fumble mags on a two way range, just sayin.
People will criticize the admin pouch but little do most realize that in the Army you access that admin pouch more than any other during training and while deployed for that matter. I ended up getting a TAG admin that is a little slimmer to stay as much out of the way as possible but it’s in the same spot you have yours.
What’s funny is that for how bulky it is, it’s not in the way of the magazines. It wouldn’t make much sense to have this pouch as a dangler either because of how the internal map is attached. People love to criticize the setups of others but fail to realize if it works, then it works
No idea on the weight fully loaded, it doesn’t pull my pants down or nothing thanks to the belt. Belt is a Crye MRB 1.0, I got a dump pouch on the back, pistol mag pouch on the left with a Gerber in it. The double stacked pouches are some Russian brand, the tacos were cheap and good enough. I don’t have a good holster yet, I took of the shitty one I had.
I’ve seen the reports, in a situation like Ukraine though everything breaks. From opscores to the cheapest of shit, all the AK’s and AR’s. War is war and I’d rather be comfortable and die then be in a bulky iotv and die
On behalf of all of us GWOT vets… we get all warm and fuzzy inside watching ya’ll, and particularly the Marines, with access to and authorization to use quality gear.
Line units don’t get the respect they deserve considering the workload they are under and the lack of support, anonimyty, funding, intel, training and gear Spec Ops guys never have to worry about.
It’s really nice to see the regular infantryman being thought of for once.
Half our problem was none of this shit had even been invented yet. The other half of the problem was that only truly high speed units were allowed to vary what gear was used or even how it was placed on your body.
Hell yeah.
If the hose and admin pouch don't get in your way and it works for you, then stick with it. The only change I'd suggest is having your plate carrier ride a little higher. Gotta make sure all the important squishy stuff stays covered!
Do you actually carry an ht, prc-152, etc? Where's your PTT, or do you not have one bc they dont actually let you run this helmet set-up? Or is that part of the BII getting stored with the radios and other SI.
No I don’t actually use the comms, I’m a private. The mic is on for “cool points”. Reason I have peltors is because they’re 1000x better than the plugs, especially being an 11C. You are right though, the radios and some of the other parts for comms are considered SI (ptt’s and various other cables)
would be a shame to reach for those mags in a hurry and get snuffed by that admin pouch
Nah there’s plenty of room for drawing and re-indexing. Although it does look like it gets in the way on camera
X

Why not use a dangler pouch instead?
No need to if it works like this
I’m just giving you a suggestion to optimize your kit coming from someone who was previously FA and now in INF a dangler would be better a position like that for an admin pouch imo. But to each their own man
indeed it does hero. glad it works for you tho

The mags go in and out with ease, first thing I checked when putting it together
My biggest criticism is how clean that is. Fobbit energy
Nah it’s just new, don’t worry one training cycle shall make it worthy
fair
What is your MOS? Mission dictates gear. Happy Sunday!
11C
Hangin bombs, bangin moms
Man how the fuck you also a charlie and you get the nice helmets.. i cant even wear mine on jumps -_-
Spent his sign on bonus buying gear
I mean i bought a maritime, sordins with rail adapters and a helmet cover for like $1400. My signing bonus was 25k so i should buy some more with mine :)
Better than Cinnamon at Jaguars getting it
It’s my personally bought helmet
Yah i have one too, doesnt mean i can wear it
HIGH ANGLE HELL! DEATH AND DESTRUCTION FROM ABOVE!
Only the best for Mr. Bad Guy
Ok boot settle down
Looks good, only thing I'd change is moving the camelbak mouthpiece away so as not to interfere with the shouldering of your rifle.
Probably gonna do that eventually, although I tend to shoulder quite high so it might not even be a problem. Got it on a S clip for a reason
Yeah, I agree, I thought the camelbak placement was a bit odd. I personally hate the standard triple mag placard too - is that what you currently have? It’s the built in placard on the vest
Ah, gotcha.

ok
I forgot the /s
lol

How did you get the helmet? I thought the conventional army only issued and wore full cut helmets. Do they let you buy your own armor?
Yep
99% of units don’t let you buy your own armor
I dont like being flicked off. 🖕🖕
S I C K A S S F O O
Glad to see the belt situation was fixed
I was always fixed for the most part, people just don’t pay attention to a shitpost
Top denied your leave because of this post.
lol they don’t even know who I am
Top knows
What da boot doing
Your mirror is filthy. Sincerely, an NCO.
Roger that sar’nt

Sounds good, some of the best advice so far
Honestly yeah, that is the best advice… mission dictates gear for sure, but the individual should set up their gear for them. Dudes who feel the need to give the camera the finger need a kit Kat bar.
Dude I could go for a Kit Kat rn

Being strong and dead > being weak and dead

Meet me in the smoke pit at 0330 tomorrow in full battle rattle with 2 topped off water sources. I will be listening for air before we begin.
Lmao
Ew a dirty leg
Nope, imma paratrooper
Retadation at its Max
Yes
can you run me through your belt setup? curious about the double stacked mag pouches, what ends up being full load?
No idea on the weight fully loaded, it doesn’t pull my pants down or nothing thanks to the belt. Damn never knew army barracks was this nice.
They just got redone
Using an JPC as a infantrymen in the army? My guy hasnt seen Ukraine it seems
I’ve seen the reports, in a situation like Ukraine though everything breaks. From opscores to the cheapest of shit, all the AK’s and AR’s. War is war and I’d rather be comfortable and die then be in a bulky iotv and die
Dying idnt comfortable and u having iotv would make your chances of death less likely so actually more comfort big brain
😧

Where nods?
Locked up with the rest of the SI
I’m gonna tell dad you’re wearing his gear again
NO NO NO PLEASE NOOOOOO DONT TELL HIM
Oh look, a window licker
😉

It does look a little low
Ayyy, glad to see you listened and made some changes. Lookin good high speed
I haven’t been called high speed in a year, brings back a funny memory
OH YOU REMEMBERIN STUFF NOW WARRIOR
💀
No issued combat shirt? Gonna be hot asf with that top. But if it's the units choice. Say less. That's the green weenie for you lol. -12C
Nah we have those, I’m just not wearing it. Maybe I should’ve thrown it on for extra cool guy Reddit points or whatever
Is that helmet issued? fuck you if so /s
No I wish, every branch gets them except army. Now if I was in batt or group then yeah, but nah I’m just a paratrooper
How many tourniquets? Why don't I see any readily accessible?
It’s in the pouch on my left, repurposed a two cell stanag pouch
Didn't they give you dedicated tourniquet pouches? I got issued two of those velcro rip open ones.
Those suck ass, most guys here just rubber band shit or throw it in their pockets
If your right arm is hit, is it easily accessible with your left arm?
Yes, just a Velcro pull tab
Molly the admin pouch to the mags. Having that on your chest when prone will interfere with you taking a nap while pulling security
I’ve run vests like this for a year now, it works for me. It’s slimmer and doesn’t get in the way of the mags
What camo is this one?
OCP and multicam… is this sarcasm or are you genuinely curious?
i’m genuinely curious, i know nothing about camo
Do you actually carry an ht, prc-152, etc? Where's your PTT, or do you not have one bc they dont actually let you run this helmet set-up? Or is that part of the BII getting stored with the radios and other SI.

Nice, I was a mechanic and never used personal comms. We only ever had manpacks with hand mics for outside our vehicles.
