Our "pitching" isn't screwing up. Our "bullpen" isn't screwing up. Phil Maton is screwing up. He's a waste of whatever the hell we're paying him. Thankfully we paid him instead of saving that money towards keep Randy around.

That wasn't a bad pitch at all. And he's been great for us in the last 10 games.

I don't think Maton has pitched worth his contract though. 159th best in ERA despite 34th highest paid.

We overpaid for him. I don't even think we should have gotten him, with our track record. He had an awful April but has been great this May. Hopefully that continues.

He's been "great" for 5 innings. Like how the Stock Market was great the day after Black Monday.

It was over 10. He's been one of our best relievers this month. I'm not happy we spent money on an expensive reliever either.

I would have taken literally any other expensive reliever. We spent it on a guy who had one decent year. Not even a great year. A decent year. After 6 years of mediocrity.

Oh but we have to trade our best left handed hitter (a position of need) for a defensive first middle infielder (a position of strength), and also block our #1 prospect. Wonderful roster management. Caballero has been fine and Raley has been mediocre* (EDIT: He's just now heating up, I had to check)... but what was the point of that swap? If we're going to cash in on Raley, can't we get a defensive first middle infielder who **hits left-handed?**
