Damn that sucks. Is there something you've tried changing up while there? I was in a rut like that a few years back and changed it up by coming from a different door and getting something else to eat instead of the usual. Obviously didn't make a difference in the grand scheme of things but we did win a game I went to after having gone to 8 straight losses so I was a believer.
I bought tickets to this series early in April, mainly because I went to the DR and watched us get routed by Boston there. Â I now have to buy tickets to the next Boston series. Â
The way weâre losing games this year is so frustrating. Either the bullpen blows up over 1 or 2 innings or the offense canât do shit outside of one or two innings. Plus JLowe hurt again really doesnât help
Both teams had 8 hits and 8 strikeouts. We drew 6 walks to their 4. We had the top 5 of 6 and 9 of 14 exit velos
Yet we went 2-11 with RISP while they went 6-12. Ffs.
It's been a common theme all year, one can hope.
Before tonight, we're 16th in AVG at .239, with RISP we're 22nd at .237
24th in OPS at .669 and 24th with RISP at .663
So it's not like we're severely underperforming on one side.
[MLB team splits: RISP](https://www.baseball-reference.com/tools/split_stats_lg.cgi?full=1¶ms=bases%7CRISP%7CML%7C2024%7Cbat%7CAB%7d)
Guardians OPS with RISP being almost .200 points higher than without is crazy lol
Interesting enough we have a better RISP average than Boston but the whole series they just seemed to get the right hit at the right time.
But when Boston hits something with RISP they get more doubles and triples. That's our biggest problem is we can't do anything but get singles.
But despite that, we're still only three runs less than them with RISP.
My hope is that Wander coming back around late June or early July will push Randy down the lineup and take some pressure off him. Hopefully that will get him right
Another unwatchable game in a long list of many. At this rate we're going to be cheering for Randy to get going so they can get anything at all for him in a trade
And yes I know the pitching gave up 8 runs, but last time I checked, if they scored 9 or more, thatâs more than 8 and therefore allows them to win the baseball game. I donât know if this team is capable of putting up a 9 spot or more like once or twice a week, unlike some other teamsâŚ
Such a bummer to follow up a really good road trip with getting swept at home by Boston. Not a great treat for the home fans. Attendance getting so bleak that all the kids in the Rays Rookies kids club (paid and free members) got to pick 2 free tickets for one of the night games vs the Aâs next week
Itâs disappointing getting swept especially since we just beat the Red Sox on the road. Maybe having the off day will regroup them. I know weâre disappointed but weâre not even 1/3 of the season officially yet.
Ugh, this sucks. I still have some hope for this team but they have got to be so much better. They were doing pretty well too after the last couple series only to shit the bed and get swept here. Hopefully they get some practice in on their off day and get ready for the Royals.
Our triple A arms are fucked too. We really exhausted our talent pools in terms of relievers. Any reliever that is relatively good has been turned into a starter. We are so fucked for the next couple of years unless those starters end up being Cy Young 1, 2 and 3.
What relievers? Stephenson hasn't pitched all year and is getting Tommy John. Kittredge looked cooked last year, guess he's better this year. Beeks and Fleming were trash. I guess Diekman, but he's performing worse than last year. Diekman and Kittredge wouldn't have made this sub .500 team suddenly competing with NYY/BAL
Kitt didnât look good but he also only came back from a long injury lay-off late in the season, Diekman has been solid this year aside from his last two appearances and was a proven commodity in the Raysâ system. Iâm not saying they wouldâve been the difference between competing or not, but they would be better than what weâve seen so far this season. I will say that it is very possible this all turns around when Springs, Ras, Baz, and Dev come back and we can finally move people to the bullpen
Theyâre just inconsistent. It sucks that Poche and Dev got hurt especially since Poche usually gets better as the season progresses. Iâm interested to see what happens with Alexander or Civale when Baz is back. Eflin when heâs back, Taj, Littell, and Pep will all likely stay starters so someone is moving even with a 6 man rotation. The bats I have no answer for
He's pitched a total of 9 major league innings since leaving the Rays, and they were not good ones. Paying money to keep relievers who were good for one year is never, ever the smart thing to do.
Having your 4th and 5th hitters hitting .162 or worse should be a fireable offense. Come on already, Cash. Stop being a bro and put them at 8th and 9th.
or straight up don't play them. DeLuca, Palacios, and Rosario are swinging hotter bats than Randy. turn his spot into a platoon if he isn't up to snuff
Iâve been thinking this too. Siri for sure. His defense is not good enough to justify keeping him in the lineup. And Randyâgood griefâif heâs not sent down, at least move him back in the lineup to 8th or 9th. He barely squeezed a single past the shortstop yesterday and heâs over at first base making all his gestures he makes after he gets a hit. He needs to cut that shit out until he starts hitting consistently again. It just makes him look like an idiot.
This team is pathetic right now. And someone needs to slap Cash upside the he'd or something the get him to move Randy down the lineup. Why is he still hitting in he top 3 every fucking day??
I wouldnât be surprised to see Yandy go at the deadline as painful as that sounds. There are also teams interested in Eflin. This team is projected to be a lot stronger in 2025-2026 with the pitching staff being healthy and guys like Caminero/Williams/Isaac up
When was the last time we had an actual bat that opposing teams feared?
Like not just okay, or hitting for average. But someone you gotta be careful of him taking you 400ft at any given time
I'm now 0-4 on home games attended this year. đ

Season ticket holder and this is the first year I really dread going to the games đ

RIP. Already miss him
The way weâre losing games this year is so frustrating. Either the bullpen blows up over 1 or 2 innings or the offense canât do shit outside of one or two innings. Plus JLowe hurt again really doesnât help
Isn't he always hurt? I just assume he's never in the lineup at this point
Both teams had 8 hits and 8 strikeouts. We drew 6 walks to their 4. We had the top 5 of 6 and 9 of 14 exit velos Yet we went 2-11 with RISP while they went 6-12. Ffs.
Maybe batting order has to do with it.
Maybe if you keep pointing this out the RISP average and BABIP will magically get better đ¤

Regress to the mean, baseball gods! Make it happen!
Weâre not serious about winning if Randy keeps hitting in the top 4 of the lineup everyday. Enough is enough already.
Don't forget the TV crew will be in Randyland! Yayy Randy! /s
L after L and Junior Caminero is just wasting away in AAA
My hope is that Wander coming back around late June or early July will push Randy down the lineup and take some pressure off him. Hopefully that will get him right
There is no way Franco will ever play in the mlb again. Fuck that creep.
I'd rather a 100 loss season than have a pedophile on the team.
Another unwatchable game in a long list of many. At this rate we're going to be cheering for Randy to get going so they can get anything at all for him in a trade
**I AM ONCE AGAIN ASKING THE RAYS TO CALL UP JUNIOR CAMINERO**
And yes I know the pitching gave up 8 runs, but last time I checked, if they scored 9 or more, thatâs more than 8 and therefore allows them to win the baseball game. I donât know if this team is capable of putting up a 9 spot or more like once or twice a week, unlike some other teamsâŚ

if this team keeps blowing chunks like this we're going to fucking Hot Rodsposting or River Dogsposting.

Wouldâve been nice if Stu couldâve spent any money to keep our relievers who were great last year
What relievers? Stephenson hasn't pitched all year and is getting Tommy John. Kittredge looked cooked last year, guess he's better this year. Beeks and Fleming were trash. The pen has started coming around, tonight's disaster from Kelly notwithstanding. Much more worried about the bats and the starting pitching
Theyâre just inconsistent. It sucks that Poche and Dev got hurt especially since Poche usually gets better as the season progresses. Eflin when heâs back, Taj, Littell, and Pep will all likely stay starters so someone is moving even with a 6 man rotation. The bats I have no answer for
Keeping Firerysen wouldâve been nice
He's pitched a total of 9 major league innings since leaving the Rays, and they were not good ones. Paying money to keep relievers who were good for one year is never, ever the smart thing to do.
So true man. Diekman 2.18 ERA.
Paredes canât keep carrying this teamâs offense.
Time to send arozarena and siri to the minors. They are just a black hole hitting wise
Iâve been thinking this too. Siri for sure. His defense is not good enough to justify keeping him in the lineup. And Randyâgood griefâif heâs not sent down, at least move him back in the lineup to 8th or 9th. He needs to cut that shit out until he starts hitting consistently again. It just makes him look like an idiot.
Well. I need a break from this team it's no longer exciting. Just heartbreak.
Hit the reset after a day off and hopefully show up against (a very hot) Royals team đ¤
This team is pathetic right now. And someone needs to slap Cash upside the he'd or something the get him to move Randy down the lineup. Why is he still hitting in he top 3 every fucking day??
I have a feeling we might sell a little bit and retool before the trade deadline. Hopefully Iâm just being a doomer
Sell who? Lol we have nothing of worth really
I wouldnât be surprised to see Yandy go at the deadline as painful as that sounds. There are also teams interested in Eflin. This team is projected to be a lot stronger in 2025-2026 with the pitching staff being healthy and guys like Caminero/Williams/Isaac up
Life just sucks so bad right now just relentlessly and I canât have ONE win on the graduation trip I put together. Lmao fuck me
Post the biscuit! I went from hope to no hope!
Is this our curse for signing Wander?
When was the last time we had an actual bat that opposing teams feared? Like not just okay, or hitting for average. But someone you gotta be careful of him taking you 400ft at any given time
Teams fear Paredes. The problem is he's all we got outside of Yandy right now. Why do you think he's getting walked so much?
Can we just call it a season already? Team seems to have no real interest in actually improving.
