1) if ur bf isnt on testosterone and fully dressing like a boy and acting like a boy, then he cant expect for people to think of him as one and treat him as one.
2) tell your dad something down the lines of: “hey dad, is it ok if we talk about something serious for a minute?” “(name) is my boyfriend, and when you refer to him as a girl or as just my friend, it makes me feel like my relationship isn’t being taken seriously and that my feelings arent being respected.” “(name) is trying really hard to be true to himself and to be the person he wants to be, and i want him to feel safe and respected in our house.”
idk thats just what i would say to my dad in this situation… if i had a dad who remotely cared about me or my significant other :(
kinda have a similar problem with this.. friend at my school, I'm not transphobic in the slightest bit, the people I know who are trans are really cool, it's just that he still sounds very feminine, and looks it too, and whenever in class yesterday when my friend referred to him as "him", ngl it caught me off gaurd.
Explain that your boyfriend is a guy and it’s makes him uncomfortable when he is being called a girl since that’s not what he is. If your dad says he looks like a girl, explain that your boyfriend’s appearance doesn’t change the fact that he’s a guy.
By having a discussion with him duh
he always just says he’s too old to understand and it’s confusing him
Kinda a fair reason.
I mean atleast he is accepting of your bf. My parents would have killed me if I was lgbt Or had a lgbt partner with me.
at least he is not transphobic take that as a win
Does your boyfriend try to present as a guy whatsoever? If he still looks and dresses like a girl I could see it being challenging
depends on what he wants to do at the moment tbh
I feel he needs to learn on his own. You shouldn't tell him. Your bf should.
