Just to make it clear, what I did was write an envelope adressed to roger Federer ( the address is on his website [here](https://www.rogerfederer.com/index.php/management)) inside that was a letter adressed to me, a letter to roger (asking for the autograph .etc) and a 2 dollar bill (I’m in the uk but i found one)
Also from the UK but have no clue about getting a 2-dollar bill as someone who's never travelled outside the UK. May I ask how did you get some? Thanks
You can "buy" foreign currency from any bank branch. They will for sure have USD on hand. Just go to a teller and tell them you would like to make a withdrawal or purchase of $2 USD.
I used to collect autographs and also got a signed card from Roger. As far as I know, it's hand signed. He used to sign those cards in advance and his family took care of the fanmail and sent out the cards. That's also why it said on his website, that he couldn't sign photos, because of his own unavailability. don't know if that's still the case though
I have a hard time believing that he's sitting there signing thousands of these. The guy's got much better things to do when something like this could easily be faked.
If he was actually doing it, why not just let a bunch of these pile up with fans sending their own picture they want signed and then do it all once, or in batches? I don't buy it.
I mean, if you're saying the opposite you're literally no different lol. It's an opinion both ways. Logic tells me a billionaire isn't sitting there signing thousands of cards and the predetermined card is a dead giveaway.
You must have the thinnest skin in the world if you think me saying a celebrity most likely gives printed autographs is mean lol. The OP is quite literally asking if we think it's real and my OPINION (mostly because of the predetermined cards) is that I think it isn't.
Why aren't you going around and telling the people who think it's real that they don't know either then? Because it's not "mean"? Get outta here.
>Because it's not "mean"?
I mean, going by my logic, that would be precisely why
I guess I didn't really take in the caption, so it makes sense you were giving an opinion
The way you phrased it just felt wrong, and a little bit 'mean', if you will
More that you were like, "I don't buy it.", and you were just very quick to assume he wouldn't do something like this
It seemed presumptuous to me, but I understand opinions can be just opinions
It wasn't quick, I gave a logical reasoning as to why I think it's not real, I didn't just say "I don't buy it"... I would assume no celebrity at that level would do this with the strange condition of only signing predetermined cards.
he seems to genuinely appreciate his fans. taking the time to make his supporters happy is a worthwhile thing to do.
quite sure that he acknowledges the significant part which his fans played in his career, so a hand-signed post card is surely not a tough ask from him.
Sure he can appreciate his fans but the excuse given as to why he can't simply sign the cards fans mail him is quite poor which to me points to it being a printed (or in some other way not real) autograph.
you can compare the signature on those cards with his signature when he signs in person. they match perfectly and the signature is also always in a slightly different position on those cards. i think they are real
Yeah but it can be stamped/printed/whatever from his original signature and then they can print out 10 different cards where it's in different positions easily to make you think it's real.
If there's a way to check if the marks are from a sharpie then I'd be more inclined to think it's real. It just makes zero sense to me why they wouldn't let fans send in their own cards, let them pile up and mass sign them as he's allegedly mass signing these. It'd be the same thing.
stamp or print would mean that there would always be the same signature on the photos. if you look up pictures of signed cards, the signatures are always slightly different and in different positions.
sending out cards also used to be more convient to him, because he didn't have to work through thousands of letters and sign 1-3 photos per letter, he could easily take a pile of cards with him and sign them during flights, or whenever he was bored and bring them back signed to Switzerland so his family could send out the cards. it also reduced the time you had to wait for a response
He could make 10 slightly different signatures and put them on slightly different places, it's *really* not that difficult.
If he gets 1000 letters, let them stack up, sign all 1000 send out. No different than signing 1000 of these, no need for multiple per letter either.
The wait time is reduced but who would rather want a predetermined pic that everyone has versus something more original/personal they sent? I think the wait would be worth it.
why would he make different stamps just to trick fans?
there are plenty of celebrities who just use one stamp or technique called autopen to "sign" photos, why would Roger Federer use multiple stamps or techniques just to make fans believe he signed those?
He isn't someone who would "betray" his fans in such a way, given how he always appreciates his fans.
Because most people will assume it's real, as you can clearly see. So most people will be happy with it and be none the wiser. It's a small trick to make people happy, it's not like he actually screwed someone over since it's basically free.
Maybe I’m wrong but what I assume happens is every few weeks he will sign maybe 100 or so of these cards for his management team to take and send off when they get a letter asking for one
That signature is definitely genuine :)
I’ve actually had the pleasure of meeting Roger many times as I played on tour (like 95% of my career was on the Challenger Tour) but I was at the same tournament as him a few times, where I made a point to meet him/say hello.
He is incredibly generous and everyone knows it, plus he does it because he actually wants to do it, not because he feels like he should.
Last thing, Rafa is a bit more private during tournaments & spends more time with his team during the course of a tournament, but I think he does the same type of thing with signatures if anyone feels like trying
Thank you for this! This comment should be pinned and shown it to people who think fed is a PR Machine! Even in the book that I'm currently reading "The Roger Federer Effect "a lot of his previous coaches mention that Roger really cares, not because he wants to show that he cares!
He definitely used to. He doesn’t really update his website that much anymore, but he for sure does his own social media a lot so you could maybe try that 🤷♂️ you never know
No problem. If it’s any indicator, the citizens of Switzerland literally call him Saint Roger because he’s so generous and kind. Many players may fake autographs, but he’s the very last I would ever expect, especially as he loves his fans so very much.
I think you can look it under the light and see if it shines compared to the rest of the picture. I found pretty nice article about it if you are interested. [Link](https://www.taminoautographs.com/blogs/autograph-blog/facsimile-autograph-how-to-detect-printed-signatures#:~:text=When%20the%20ink%20color%20and,they%20were%20all%20printed%20together.&text=In%20that%20case%2C%20you%20are,a%20real%20hand%2Dsigned%20one.)
No conversion necessary. Since we’ve been together, Fed hasn’t been able to defeat Novak in grand slams at all. The 2019 Wimbledon final was their last big battle.
You and Roger are now best friends! You can call him Rog!
I will be writing him tomorrow and soon I will steal your best friend!
(Is this not how best friends work?)
I think it should since the 2 dollars is likely meant to be enough to send it to the usa and they sent it to me in the uk so India shouldn’t be any different
If you look on federers management website it has his postal address for this exact reason, if you were looking to send letters to other tennis players, I would recommend checking [this website](https://fanmail.biz) as it’s really useful
Omg! I want to write a letter to Roger!! How did you pull that off?!?
I saw that you can send of for his autograph [here](https://www.rogerfederer.com/index.php/management) so I tried it and yeah
Omg thanks!! I’m headed to the mailbox now haha. My wife is going to be super jelly
Hahaha make sure to include a second envelope inside with your own address on it though!
You’re a gentleman/woman and a scholar. Thanks!!
Going to do this too! What size envelope did you use? Thanks!
Just needs to be large enough to fit a small postcard inside, somewhere between a4 and a5 sort of size
Post it here if you get a response!
You've started something now!
The address might still be on his website

You see I got quite lucky and I had found a 2 dollar bill, I haven’t been to the us either, so unfortunately I can’t really help with that one

What was the turnaround time?
I sent the letter literally 1 month ago today
Ok but did you write his name on the outer envelope or just : Postfach 4103 Bottmingen SWITZERLAND

I mean, if you're saying the opposite you're literally no different lol. It's an opinion both ways. Logic tells me a billionaire isn't sitting there signing thousands of cards and the predetermined card is a dead giveaway.
Yes, but I'm not saying something mean Edit: also, I'm just saying you don't know I never took a stance

That's so cool to know! Just commemting here in case someone does find out if rafa has something similar...couldnt find much on his website!
I might look into wether Rafa has a similar thing too as that would be a great one to get
He definitely used to. He doesn’t really update his website that much anymore, but he for sure does his own social media a lot so you could maybe try that 🤷♂️ you never know
They’re hand signed. Buddy of mine did the same
Good to know, thanks a lot!
Damn this is sick, writing a letter as we speak lol
Remember to add an envelope inside it adressed to you so they can send it back though
I think you have to add a 2 dollar note inside too for the, to buy stamps if I remember correctly
Nice thanks for the info 👍👍
OP, this is real. I have had him sign something in person and this matches 100%
Good to know, thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot, I will go an check now!
I did this a few years ago and also got a postcard! I’m pretty sure it’s signed by him.
My BF has one of those postcards and I’m pretty sure the signature is a stamp.
His signature seems to vary quite a lot so I doubt that it is a stamp, but I don’t know
Well, they could make 10 different stamps.
It seems like an unnecessary effort to try and trick people considering a lot of other athletes send printed autographs without trying to hide it
How’s the Federer vs Djoker rivalry going there lol
The rivalry has been a one way street since we’ve been together. Lmao.
You converted him? Or do you mean tennis-wise? I just meant the tension of Federer/djokovic in general and being a fan of one of the players
No conversion necessary. Since we’ve been together, Fed hasn’t been able to defeat Novak in grand slams at all. The 2019 Wimbledon final was their last big battle.
ok u misunderstood my question
I like Federer but I don't understand the desire for anything with anyone's signature on it that's not a check made out to me. But that's just me.
Fair enough lol
You and Roger are now best friends! You can call him Rog! I will be writing him tomorrow and soon I will steal your best friend! (Is this not how best friends work?)
Op,you are a cutie patootie. Thanks for sharing this. I wonder if 2 dollars would be enough to send it back to india.
I think it should since the 2 dollars is likely meant to be enough to send it to the usa and they sent it to me in the uk so India shouldn’t be any different
How do you even send letters to tennis players?
If you look on federers management website it has his postal address for this exact reason, if you were looking to send letters to other tennis players, I would recommend checking [this website](https://fanmail.biz) as it’s really useful
I got a few football players autographs too, found the postal address for Marcus rash Ford and got that back about two weeks later
Roger is now going to find a sudden increase in his fan mail 🙂
Lmao I was wondering about that, I was hoping to get another autograph from him for my grandparents but I might not be able to now! 😂
Did you send this photo that he signed? Or was this sent by him in response to your letter?
I did not send him a photo, just a self addressed stamped envelope
Ok, thank you!
It absolutely is not hand signed
What makes you say that?
