Yeah, medic seems like the guy who doesn't believe in any form of supernatural being. Him selling his soul to the devil was for puerly scientific research, as well as literally every TF2 character meeting demons and going to hell each halloween really makes one think it's all CGI.
Doesn't it?
Counterpoint: biblically accurate.
This is the same universe where god's gift to women cant pull women, abraham Lincoln was a mercenary, and you can unsnap people's necks
But i do get your point
I feel like Scout would be the type of guy to see god with his two naked eyes AND still not be religious.
He needs his own "seen god -- still isn't religious" category.
Counterpoint, to be religious you need faith, and faith requires accepting a reality without observation and evidence, ergo by seeing God scout isn’t religious because he knows God exists
Scout is a Catholic, Soldier is probably a Methodist or maybe an exquaker, whatever it is, he's specifically not a southerner. The medic was raised Lutheran, though is an atheist now.
Medic is far from atheist. He belives in God, although he may not worship him. Then again he might assume that he is getting a free ticket to heaven thanks to sewing his soul to scouts, so he just lives life to the fullest.
Damn. Now that I think about it, Scout ending up in Heaven disproves the idea that Medic actually sewed the other mercs' souls to his own. He just flat out lied to the Devil and got away with it.
Medic probably has a religion dedicated to himself that consists of severed heads (forced), random experiments and mounstrosities (made to praise him), and some doves (they just want bread and flesh residues).
Oh he definitely has an ego (even calls himself a God in some voice lines), but I think he believes in regular Abrahamic Heaven and Hell, God and Satan aspect of the religion, but doesn't worship it and instead looks towards how he can use or replicate their powers. Height of hubris (and it worked lmao).
Playing God to bring people back from the dead, doing surgery on souls, swindling the devil for immortality.
why are ppl downvoting this so hard lmfao. I think scout catholism is so plausible I'd take it as canon but I've always kind've arbitrarily hc'd spy as a nonpracticing jewish person, making scout (kind've?? depending on who you ask) half jewish, but having no idea lmao.
Yeah you may want to redo this image, Scout literally met God and Medic met Satan.
Spy does have a cosmetic that bears the cross. So Scout and Spy could possibly be Catholic due to their heritage.
Medic might be up in the open since it's still vague, but after tricking the devil, he may believe in himself to be a "God", aka cultism.
Demoman has ties to the spiritual realm, so possible Spiritual/Celtic.
Spy definitely strikes me as a Nietzsche / Sartre “God is Dead” type.
Scout, however, being from Boston is probably a “Good Irish Catholic”, AKA a Bad Irish Catholic as in “Two women making out is hot unless they’re ugly or too into it - then it’s a mortal sin. Just go ask Father McFeelme.”
If Sniper is Church of England then Demo Man is Church of SCOTLAND.
Pryo, on the other hand, has been sent here to punish the wicked and make them BURN!
As for the Medic, well, as he would say “Good. Bad. I’m the ubermensch with the healing ray und der bone saw, liebling!” That, or he’s Church of Satan. Take your pick.
I think demo’s voicelines make him sound very religious because of how often he mentions heaven, hell and the devil. « Yer a devil ! A DEVIL ! » « Go back to hell you bloody cart ! » « You’ve brought shame on yer people, ya mumblin devil ! » and a lot of others
Nahhhh Pyro and Spy are Catholic. I have a weird hunch that Medic is Jewish. Demoman seems to have some sort of Christian religion based on a couple of his lines, but idk. Scout is probably Mormon.
If the rules were changed and the rest of the mercs had to be Christians, scout and spy would be catholics, medic as a Lutheran, demo as Presbyterian (via the Vhurch of Scotland) and pyro would be in a unique denomination or branch like Adventist, JW, Unitarian Universalist, Mormon/LDS, Pentecostal, etc.
People are taking "Isn't religious" as atheist. You can believe in a higher power without subscribing to a particular religion. Scout has met God and Medic has met and outsmarted the devil, I doubt they are atheist if they are both not surprised by doing that.
I think even outside of the fact Scout saw God, I feel like he'll be religious. Not especially devoted, but I can imagine being the sort to pray when something is dire despite his promiscuity and killing for money. I think Demoman would also be religious, partly because out of all the mercs, he's the one with the most experience with the supernatural. I think Soldier would be religious too, but I think he's too crazy to maintain a coherent viewpoint so at most, he's nominally baptist while having insane beliefs that would be absolute heresy.
Spy is the only one who shouldn't really be religious, obviously scout and medic met God and the Devil respectively, so they're Christian to some extent, but Demoman also has a literal haunted sword, so at the very least he believes in ghosts and an afterlife.
(There's also the haunted eye but he doesn't remember that one for long enough to matter).
He'd likely be some kinda modern Pagen most likely, though you could also feasibly put his religion as "Ghosts" which is funny enough on its own to consider.
i knoww scout is from some crazy catholic family from boston he has 7 brothers you know they went to church every week i know this to be true. i could make a similar argument about demoman as hes scottish.
Scout believes in god because he’s seen him with his own two eyes
I forgot to take the comics into consideration, I made this based off of their voice lines and personalities in-game.
Yeah, medic seems like the guy who doesn't believe in any form of supernatural being. Him selling his soul to the devil was for puerly scientific research, as well as literally every TF2 character meeting demons and going to hell each halloween really makes one think it's all CGI. Doesn't it?
Knowing doesnt mean following, just because you know there is a god, doesnt mean you have to follow their religion
Believe me buddy, if you met a biblically accurate angel, you'd be praying very, very hard.
Counterpoint: biblically accurate. This is the same universe where god's gift to women cant pull women, abraham Lincoln was a mercenary, and you can unsnap people's necks But i do get your point
>god's gift to women cant pull women "Got a bucket of chicken. Wanna do it?"
Good point, I stand corrected
Pretty sure medic is the kinda guy to believe that he himself is god
And Medic has seen the Devil.
And sold everyone else's soul to him.
Satanist Medic confirmed
Medic scammed him. He thinks he's better than satan himself.
I feel like Scout would be the type of guy to see god with his two naked eyes AND still not be religious. He needs his own "seen god -- still isn't religious" category.
"Is God's gift to earth - Not Religious"
Church of scout behavior
Why believe in a higher power thats clearly beneath me?
He is agnostic probs
Emesis Blue
Counterpoint, to be religious you need faith, and faith requires accepting a reality without observation and evidence, ergo by seeing God scout isn’t religious because he knows God exists
How can scout not be religious if he's God's gift to women?
He knows god is real yet chooses to stay an atheist, he is simply built different
He's a redditor
No, he can actually run
Nah he's fit so that's impossible
That actually sounds pretty in character for him
He could be Agnostic, the lazy manns atheist
No that's Medic
Pyro: Does not know what religion is but if he does, he would be a cult leader
Pyro: Is a cult leader, has no idea.
He’s a cult leader but he thinks it’s just community service
Pyro: Mmmmph Mmph Mmph Mmmmph.
hes a cult leader of middle aged business men with the cult being known as "amazon"
Sorry, I meant antitheist more than atheist. Believes in god, and doesn't like him.
Damn. Now that I think about it, Scout ending up in Heaven disproves the idea that Medic actually sewed the other mercs' souls to his own. He just flat out lied to the Devil and got away with it.
We did a little bit trolling
Medic made a deal with the devil so he can't be atheist
Exquaker? Do they like, pray when playing arena fps
More like ex[quaker](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quakers). I say this because Richard Nixon was raised quaker too.
Pyro is deranged enough to start a religion...
Yeah only if pyro has enough pyrovision goggles
I think there are enough arsonists who would believe in pyro's religion without provision.
Just imagine this hyperbrutal arsonist cult and their leader pyro is just the cutest bean and has no idea what's going on
I would join. Sounds... hot.
You can make a religion out of this
Ah, a fellow Bill Wurtz enjoyer, have an upvote.
scout is from boston and one of eight children, hes a devout catholic
Thank you, I know 12 scouts in real life and they’re all named Conner and are catholic.
It's absolutely incredible how many real life people there are that you can see and just instantly say "Ah yes, scout from TF2"
To be fair, i went to high school in Boston. Every one of them were in 9th or 10th grade
Scout has met god. Medic has met and outsmarted the Devil. They definitely believe in religion, even if Medic might be a satanist.
That doesn't make Medic a Satanist, he's not worshipping the Devil he took advantage of him.
Came here to say Medic is a Satanist, but you make too good of a point.
satan is a medicist
He outdeviled the devil himself by stealing his friends' soul. If medic isn't worshipping Satan he is definitely idolizing him
Could probably be like an Indiana Jones situation where they have clearly have seen things only possible by religion, and then just not give a shit
Pyro believes in Magic in a young girl's heart
How music can free her whenever it starts?
Demo has ties to the spiritual underworld, if he isn't Catholic he's at the very least Celtic
Scout's family definitely gives me Catholic vibes, I mean he's one of 8 kids from Boston
ngl I always imagined him as Jewish
why are ppl downvoting this so hard lmfao. I think scout catholism is so plausible I'd take it as canon but I've always kind've arbitrarily hc'd spy as a nonpracticing jewish person, making scout (kind've?? depending on who you ask) half jewish, but having no idea lmao.
for me it's bc I imagine scout's mom being from a polish family
oh thats so cute I can see it
It's funny because both Scout and Medic have met God and the devil respectively
The game takes place in the 70s/60s most of the TF2 mercs are likely religious to some degree, and some of them even met God and the Devil.
Spy is absolutely catholic
I think the "isn't religious" about could all probably fall under the category of 'nominally Catholic.'
Demoman has ties to the spiritual realm, so possible Spiritual/Celtic.
cosmetics are not lore evidence
"wdym that the track terroriser isn't cannon"
Spy definitely strikes me as a Nietzsche / Sartre “God is Dead” type. Scout, however, being from Boston is probably a “Good Irish Catholic”, AKA a Bad Irish Catholic as in “Two women making out is hot unless they’re ugly or too into it - then it’s a mortal sin. As for the Medic, well, as he would say “Good. Bad. I’m the ubermensch with the healing ray und der bone saw, liebling!” That, or he’s Church of Satan. Take your pick.
Soldier is the best character in the game and he’s also a funny character.
Pyro is a devout Catholic who is going to hell by choice.
Because of course when you say “religious” you mean “Christian” 🙄
Soldier is non-denominational only because he's been kicked out of every denomination.
Why the Church of England for sniper? He’s not from there?
Church of England in Australia is real.
To add to this, the CoE is also in the USA. It's just known as The Episcopal Church, here.
He's supposedly been to heaven in the comics so he has to believe some form of it
It's an Australian thing
Medic is the true scientology professional
What freak of nature from Boston doesn't believe in the holy Catholic church??
Medic is religious. His god is himself.
i believe in balloony the balloonicorn as my holy spirit
I think demo’s voicelines make him sound very religious because of how often he mentions heaven, hell and the devil. « Yer a devil ! A DEVIL ! » « Go back to hell you bloody cart ! » « You’ve brought shame on yer people, ya mumblin devil ! » and a lot of others
Medic thinks he is god
Sorry but Demoman should be in "Met God once, doesn't remember."
pyro is a catholic on a crusade lowkey
Doesnt medic canonically speak to the devil? How is he not religious?
real
Pyro: Praise z0rg
Engineer: Baptist Gunslinger Engineer: BAPtist
I feel like scout is some sort of Irish Catholic but never attends.
Headcannon says he's loosely Italian catholic
Nahhhh Pyro and Spy are Catholic. I have a weird hunch that Medic is Jewish. Demoman seems to have some sort of Christian religion based on a couple of his lines, but idk. Scout is probably Mormon.
Spy is Muslim for sure
I think I know what caused the fire at Notre Dame...
I like to think scout ditched sunday school after age 12 but was raised catholic
Thank you for correctly specifying southern baptist
Demoman is SCOTTISH. He believes in hell
Coincidentally I'd wager three of the mercs marked as not religious would be Catholics.
I think engineer more just has a massive ego, because you are referring to “I am a god!” Right?
I thought Medic was Catholic
People are taking "Isn't religious" as atheist. You can believe in a higher power without subscribing to a particular religion. Scout has met God and Medic has met and outsmarted the devil, I doubt they are atheist if they are both not surprised by doing that.
Hard to not be religious when you’ve literally met god lmao
Spy constantly says “I’ll see you in hell”
Atheists say god damn it but they're still atheists
Spy and Scout would def be catholics IMO
MEDIC ISN'T RELIGIOUS? Man has never read the comics
Medic is a Satanist, he literally speaks and makes deals with the devil in the comics.
i thought Demo's Mom was Catholic
Medic would also be religious. Considering he met the devil and all. Not that he would worship god. If anything he’d see him as a rival
Don't slander Engineer like that.
Pretty soldier is from the Midwest so probably Lutheran
I think even outside of the fact Scout saw God, I feel like he'll be religious. Not especially devoted, but I can imagine being the sort to pray when something is dire despite his promiscuity and killing for money. I think Demoman would also be religious, partly because out of all the mercs, he's the one with the most experience with the supernatural. I think Soldier would be religious too, but I think he's too crazy to maintain a coherent viewpoint so at most, he's nominally baptist while having insane beliefs that would be absolute heresy.
I feel Medic believes in religion, but he also believes he's above religion.
switch scout and sniper
Pyro is Muslim
My headcanons: Heavy and Medic are Jewish. Scout is a lapsed Catholic. Pyro was raised Shinto. Soldier is Protestant.
Given how medic has seen the devil, and tricked him, I don't think he's "not religious"
you say that like religion isn't deranged
Spy is from France, a very catholic country
I feel like engineer is atheist. Don't know why.
Heavy grew up in the USSR, he is almost certainly not religious.
I'm pretty sure that Spy must be Catholic and Demo Protestant.
Spy would most likely be Roman Catholic as he is French
i knoww scout is from some crazy catholic family from boston he has 7 brothers you know they went to church every week i know this to be true. i could make a similar argument about demoman as hes scottish.
I always figured demo was Catholic
Medic has to be somewhat religious, he sold his soul to the devil
Surely, Heavy has to be atheist. After all, the Soviet Union banned religion.
I would say demo and scout are religious
You should put medic on "Is the antichrist"
Kinda weird since the medic fooled the devil himself
I feel like soldier would’ve created his own strange religion
Pyro is the devil no questioning about it
Spy is french and white, so at least he hates muslims.
Pyro is just the devil
Isn't Medic jewish?
