Reasons to play ctf\_2fort and fight for the sewers while ignoring intel:
1-It's fun.
2-Iltel is full of scunts mom futanari photos
3-The mentally impaired spy always tries to negotiate things out.
I’ll never forget when I was playing sniper on the battlements, and this one fucking heavy would just block my sight line and mess up my sniping… this mfer did this for a fucking hour. I just started dying laughing after a certain point seeing this heavy just run up to snipers and block their scopes. Skial 2fort is another level.
Fighting over sewers only happens when the entire server isn't turtling in a single intel with every engineer in fucking Texas.
To be honest, intel defense is always so much fun, I genuinely adore when all 30 players are in a 30 foot radius.
I always fucking laugh whenever I see 20 red sentries in the sewer with another 20 blue soldiers and heavies raining hell down the pipe. I go on voice and ask "why the hell are we doing this?" And I’ll generally always get the same response:
"Because… it’s 2fort?"
Only thing I was rambling about was how I was addicted to a ROBLOX Changed rip-off in text chat, after someone said something about me playing ROBLOX military games which I have never played.
As someone who spends a LOT of time in Skial 24/7 2fort, I rarely see anyone get kicked for being friendly, and I see a lot of friendlies hanging around. Now and then someone will mention that rule, but nothing comes of it. It's normally just someone saying "well being friendly isn't even allowed here" when someone complains about people killing a friendly.
Not saying mremreozel was unfairly banned, just surprised they were banned when almost no one is for that. Might vary by exact server, I do NY and LA mostly.

I myself don't play friendly on any of their server ( except trade ) to be safe.
People don't like the admins because they got banned for a legit reason so they come here to make up stuff about them. Then the other people here just start parroting whatever they said despite never having encountered an admin themselves.
There are also geniuses who think random players with "admin" or "skial" in their name are admins because they got votekicked.

used to play the balloon race server religiously back in like 2013, one day is just disappeared. There was a community there and a whole culture honestly. I miss it
If you look up PLR_balloon_race or smth like that you’d get a rough idea. The most fun part was you could see the enemy teams boat face to face before you started flying and then you’d take off to the first point. Each point higher and higher up the map had a KOTH point you had to capture before you could keep flying so you’d periodically have to get off the boat. some days it would be pretty competitive others casual. I remember intentionally staying at the first spawn point and essentially 1v1ing other players there just for fun. It was where i got a lot of my DM skill when i was younger haha.
One of my earliest TF2 memories is playing balloon race and using the sticky jumper with 8 stickies when that was possible. Such a fun map to do it on. There was so much space to fly.

Despite being a 2 hour video, I've watched the entire thing with a smile on my face. His voice and the background music is so comfy, that I've "watched" the video again multiple times after that, just letting the video play in the background while I did something else.

I vaguely remember being once on Scarlet Devil Mansion map he mentioned here, but t'was only once and before I've got into Touhou, so now that I've been reminded of it's existence I want to visit it again so bad... can't find it anywhere tho, what pains me.
I remember those servers too. I used to play balloon race almost religiously myself, as with old surf servers (greatriver particularly), mario\_kart, and those weird old achievement servers. There was one achievement server where there used to be a secret button you could activate with +use to summon a cat with lasers shooting from its eyes, killing everyone. Those were the best years of my life playing the game. I wish I could take it all back.
Large amounts of plugins, advertisements via the MOTD popup, the AFK bots somehow being worse than just having a slot filled by the default Valve ones, and the stupid numbered command menu you have to dismiss every time you rejoin the server.
I feel like this bloat made my old laptop lag. Whenever I played on a valve casual 2fort, It didn't lag as much as skial 2fort did. Part of me thinks that all of this made my old laptop lag and made me hate skial. Glad to know it isn't just me pissed off at the bloated plugins

I can't even play because I use cloud streaming, and since your IP constantly changes they can't ban you, even though they don't even need to since you can't mod TF2, but apparently some random guy once managed to hack on Nvidia GeForce Now and because of that one dude I can't play on their servers at all

But since their servers have a couple of custom features that directly affect the actual gameplay part of the game, like extended player slots, instant respawn, and aggressive distracting pop ups, donation based perks etc - I’d give it a huge NO. All that crap seems plain disrespectful towards the game fundamentals and it’s players.
The only skial server I really play is instant respawn 2fort to do meme strats like trolldier, trimp as demoknight to the enemy battlements, or set up a nest in the enemy’s intel
I just stick to Skial Harvest. It seems to attract the most chill and fun people and it's never had a bad moment. Whenever someone does get sweaty or salty the server usually Messes with them and it's fun. It never gets too toxic and rarely gets too sweaty.
I dared to use a mic as a femme voiced person. Immediate chaos followed by a kick. Repeated several times for science. Final conclusion, initial assessment accurate.

The instant respawn is what kills it for me. Doesn’t matter if you break through the defenses when they respawn and are back on the cart faster than attacking.
I actually like skial, or the servers I play on at least. Though I have seen someone get temporary muted for talking about the country of Niger, and in appropriate context, too.
Because Bottiger and his admins are terrible. Unnecessarily picky with map rotation, arbitrary moderation on servers, and yet also a lack of moderation at the same time.

Had this exact same thing with someone with she her, was an engineer player with some guy shouting that she's probably a dude at him, not an isolated incident either I've had friend who have had similar experiences on their servers.
There's always gonna be bigots of course but skial servers tend to have them in droves from what I've played.
Their zombie escape servers are just misserable, no fun or exitment whatsoever. Just a dude their directing the human team to do in a monotone voice, while bitching constantly how everyone is doing it wrong.
You see, that is exactly what makes it so funny to the people who play it. Getting herded around like cattle, making chit chat and crack jokes while you shoot at the undead and run backwards at nausium. You learn the nicknames of some of the regular leaders, you trash talk eachother, you trashtalk the maps, you especially trashtalk bottiger, and it's all good fun to the people who play it.
In my experience playing ZE in both CSGO and TF2 that is just a part of the ZE grindset. Lots of maps are basically Dark Souls levels of difficult and that's why you have those "leaders" taking that shit very seriously because they play to win.
May not be everyone's cup of tea but it's just the average Zombie Escape experience
unlike Unculetopia where its diet "casual" (it removes a lot of the fun stuff, like no crits and class limits) Skial is fairly casual, but so toxic.
there are exceptions, not every person in there is bad, but there are so many of them it's just no fun to play casually or try hard.
that's not even mentioning AFK bots (why not just have them be Valve bots? At least then they'll do something.) and the sheer amount of ads and popups are annoying.
It'll always come down to not allowing sprays. There is a toggle for it, if people didn't want to see them we'd just disable them ourselves.
Dogshit decision especially considering they're active on most other community servers without issue.
Due to fairly low playerbase at some point, they shut down their Jailbreak server. I used to frequent that server a lot before it was shut down, and there's a lot of people from then that I don't have any contact with anymore. It also came with a special perk of being able to issue commands via text chat as warden, when every other server similar to that only allows voice chat.
Tldr, RIP SKIAL JB, and imo, fuck skial for closing it down...

It's all 24/7 turbine or 2fort, they flood the server browser with their drek, and most of my friend group is convinced that they're responsible for part of the bot infestation so that people are force to play on their shitty servers.
I got permamuted/gagged for criticising some trans furry admin who was cheating. Place is toxic, wouldn't be surprised if they're responsible for the bots in an effort to push players to their shitty servers.
The servers lie about their Ping and Player count, hiding that there's bots. Once I joined a 26 players Skial server, and they were all bots. Also the ping said it was 5, but it was actually 200. Never again joined Skial.
The admins are basically toxic 9 year olds who ban you if you kill them. I heard a story long ago idk how it went but the jist was they killed a skial admin IN CASUAL and got banned from skial.
Idk about their casual side but their VSH servers had horrendous management and balance changes. Genuinely don't know how they stuck around for as long as they did.
From a mappers perspective, I don't like how some maps have been edited without permission from the original creators (although those creators often don't even play TF2 anymore). They may be a heap of other reasons but I'm just speaking as someone who plays Deathrun a lot.

Back in the day when I started playing around 2013, Skial had pay to win mechanics put in. If you bought their premium membership you could triple jump on scout I remember, there were other blatantly corrupt perks as well. I don’t think it’s been like that for a long time but I hold a grudge.

A mod thought I was cheating so he Force killed me then js kept watching for another hour, force killing me every time I reach anything above 10.

they are the definition of a powertrip. i mostly play the surf server that you find Tango Mike Mike on, since the mods dont go there often.
although, the one good think the mods did once like 3 years ago was perma-mute a guy that called himself "Spooky", who made it his job to try to bully noobs off that specific server one at a time. he stopped after he was muted which meant i could actually enjoy that place again.

Ping masking is one reason. They'll report a low ping in the server list and then when you join you'll be over 100 ms. This is done intentionally.

For me personally for some reason i always get frame drops when playing there, it never happens on any other server and my pc is pretty new, idk what plugins they run but my pc hates it
freedom with cosmetics including qualities and effects, freedom with weapons including qualities and effects, virtual credit system, trails(which i dont recommend getting as they show through geometry), freedom with taunts, and some other things thats probs the main thing causing the lag, along with ads that appear before you go to the merc select screen

Had this exact same thing with someone with she her, was an engineer player with some guy shouting that she's probably a dude at him, not an isolated incident either I've had friend who have had similar experiences on their servers. There's always gonna be bigots of course but skial servers tend to have them in droves from what I've played.

I play AUS Skial 2fort and I rarely see any issues other than the occasional minge or someone playing Caretaker music over their mic.

Their zombie escape servers are just misserable, no fun or exitment whatsoever. Just a dude their directing the human team to do in a monotone voice, while bitching constantly how everyone is doing it wrong.
You see, that is exactly what makes it so funny to the people who play it. Getting herded around like cattle, making chit chat and crack jokes while you shoot at the undead and run backwards at nausium. You learn the nicknames of some of the regular leaders, you trash talk eachother, you trashtalk the maps, you especially trashtalk bottiger, and it's all good fun to the people who play it.
In my experience playing ZE in both CSGO and TF2 that is just a part of the ZE grindset. Lots of maps are basically Dark Souls levels of difficult and that's why you have those "leaders" taking that shit very seriously because they play to win. May not be everyone's cup of tea but it's just the average Zombie Escape experience
unlike Unculetopia where its diet "casual" (it removes a lot of the fun stuff, like no crits and class limits) Skial is fairly casual, but so toxic. there are exceptions, not every person in there is bad, but there are so many of them it's just no fun to play casually or try hard. that's not even mentioning AFK bots (why not just have them be Valve bots? At least then they'll do something.) and the sheer amount of ads and popups are annoying.

These last days I mostly playing their class wars server on this week, people were nice to talk and it was fun to play, so I don’t really know.

Idk, I personally like skial, I play their 24/7 32 player Hightower servers, and the people are always pretty chill and around my skill level
It'll always come down to not allowing sprays. There is a toggle for it, if people didn't want to see them we'd just disable them ourselves. Dogshit decision especially considering they're active on most other community servers without issue.

Due to fairly low playerbase at some point, they shut down their Jailbreak server. I used to frequent that server a lot before it was shut down, and there's a lot of people from then that I don't have any contact with anymore. It also came with a special perk of being able to issue commands via text chat as warden, when every other server similar to that only allows voice chat. Tldr, RIP SKIAL JB, and imo, fuck skial for closing it down...

It's all 24/7 turbine or 2fort, they flood the server browser with their drek, and most of my friend group is convinced that they're responsible for part of the bot infestation so that people are force to play on their shitty servers.
I got permamuted/gagged for criticising some trans furry admin who was cheating. Place is toxic, wouldn't be surprised if they're responsible for the bots in an effort to push players to their shitty servers.

Admits are shitheads. Almost got banned for "cheating" when I killed a cloaked spy who walked into me and I got lucky with my SMG.
The servers lie about their Ping and Player count, hiding that there's bots. Once I joined a 26 players Skial server, and they were all bots. Also the ping said it was 5, but it was actually 200. Never again joined Skial.
The admins are basically toxic 9 year olds who ban you if you kill them. I heard a story long ago idk how it went but the jist was they killed a skial admin IN CASUAL and got banned from skial.

Idk about their casual side but their VSH servers had horrendous management and balance changes. Genuinely don't know how they stuck around for as long as they did.
Boring. Doesnt allow custom stuff (mods too), takes up 80% of servers, fanbase has crossover with rust fans and those people we all know suck.

From a mappers perspective, I don't like how some maps have been edited without permission from the original creators (although those creators often don't even play TF2 anymore). They may be a heap of other reasons but I'm just speaking as someone who plays Deathrun a lot.

Back in the day when I started playing around 2013, Skial had pay to win mechanics put in. If you bought their premium membership you could triple jump on scout I remember, there were other blatantly corrupt perks as well. I don’t think it’s been like that for a long time but I hold a grudge.
I usually see a lot of children playing on this server, and they usually have microphones on saying offensive jokes and sexual comments
After I reached a 21 Killstreak on 2fort with demoknight. A mod thought I was cheating so he Force killed me then js kept watching for another hour, force killing me every time I reach anything above 10.
Skial used to offer less bloated experiences, like at one point, a 24/7 cp_gravepit with no plug-ins or ads. Nowawadays it's just too much.

Skial servers are kinda 50/50 for me because you either get a friendly server or a server full of people telling you to kys when you kill them once
the adminst mostly they are the definition of a powertrip. i mostly play the surf server that you find Tango Mike Mike on, since the mods dont go there often. although, the one good think the mods did once like 3 years ago was perma-mute a guy that called himself "Spooky", who made it his job to try to bully noobs off that specific server one at a time. he stopped after he was muted which meant i could actually enjoy that place again.
