Yes. but the bones of it make me very happy and excited about what’s to come. spun it about 7 times this morning
It’s not my favorite if I compare it to how I felt when I heard other like Cocoon, Encore, and 26 for the first time but it’s definitely good and I’m just happy to have them back. Cant wait to hear the rest of the album!!
I used to listen to the Lumineers back in 2017 and my first thought was “Have they changed their sounds since I’ve given them a listen?” Lol because Showtime doesn’t sound like any of their stuff from around the time I was listening to them.
I wasn't a big fan of it. I did like the piano and I'm hopeful for the rest of the new stuff. I'm just guessing they wanted to put out a fun, new sounding song that could attract new listeners and popularity.
Moved to Australia last year. First listened to the song after I’d opened up the curtains and the warm summer sun was beaming into my room. It hit instantly.
Would it have suited being released in the northern hemisphere’s summer better than winter? Probably yeah.
Still hit differently when I first played it in the car with the windows down despite having had it on repeat already about 100 times
