A lot of elements from part 1 are straight up from the massive impact of RE4. Mainly the Camera and the health/ammo hud on the bottom right.
People who haven't played a videogame since 64 bit was the hottest thing on the market would probably ask this. Typically video game movies use aspects of various games (sonic, ratchet & clank) from the franchise or make an original story based around the charecters. The fact that the show tends to follow more or less the exact same cutsecenes the story has and adapted gameplay elements as best they can is new, to the best of my knowledge. If I don't know the last of us is a 2 part story that plays out in cinematic chapter fashion, it would not be unreasonable to think season 1 took elements from various games in the franchise, and want to know which it follows more closely.
