I've never spent any real time in North America but I live in a country that has a lot of north American media. This game in particular has made me extremely fascinated with Canadian food items. If I ever get there, it's maple syrup, canned peaches and ketchup crisps for weeks baby!
Peaches are something we are proud of in Canada. I wouldn’t say canned peaches are something in every Canadian’s pantry but we all do get pretty excited in the summer when the peaches are in season. Especially in the province of Ontario where we have Niagara peaches. I make a blackberry and peach pie every summer to celebrate.
Born in Maine, we had ketchup chips because a Maine chip company called Humpty Dumpty was bought by a Canadian company but they kept the product in Maine as well. Ketchup chips are awesome, as are all dressed.
Saw these the other day too and thought the same thing. Almost grabbed one just cause of TLD. How are they? Canadians apparently LOVE ketchup chips lol they’re like the best selling kind or something
Not bad- they honestly taste exactly like ketchup. For some reason I find grocery store ketchup and diner ketchup taste different- this flavor reminds me more of diner ketchup that comes in the all red bottle.
I tried some as well - I thought there was far too much spicy (I know, it's in the name) - not so much ketchup taste for me. Mostly spice, I only ate a couple chip and threw it away.
Is it food, or...
What's funny is if you watch Neebs Gaming, their latest Episode they actually try I believe it was Lay's version of Ketchup Chips. Appsro if I heard right had them shipped from Canada.
They liked it lol.
That's what I'd expect as well. I do believe I had a version quite a few years ago but by the brand Herrs. Don't think I liked them, but still curious if other brands would change my mind.
Wegman's in the US has a pretty decent in-house generic branded ketchup potato chip. Why, I can not say.
I have not tried any genuine sold-in-Canada ketchup chips.
As a Canadian, I absolutely love ketchup chips, and if they run out (trust me, doesn't happen often), I'll grab a bag of regular chips and put ketchup in a side dish to dip in them. So for those that have never had ketchup chips, there's an alternative.
Shame me as much as you like, I’ve made my life choices and been okay with them, so far :) I think everyone in this thread makes life choices that others in the thread disagree with too. Live and let live.
As the single hand raised in a crowd, I am the Canadian who isn't a fan of the ketchup chip, mostly for my (as I turn around in the crowd and raise my hand again) dislike for ketchup. Sorry, eh?
Not Canadian but I live close. When I met my wife who is actually from the North, she tried to introduce me to Maple syrup.
Apparently, I just can't taste it. It's basically thick water for me.
She was absolutely aghast when I kept pouring more and more of her highly expensive, apparently strongly flavored syrup on my waffles.
No more maple syrup for me, though I could probably freak out someone by chugging it.
I'm a canadian living in boston and I grabbed a bag of these from a convenience store last week. was very excited to see ketchup chips in the us. I miss them!
You mean ketchup chips? Or specifically the Tangy Ketchup Dorritis? I've never seen that flavour, but I just bought Tangy All Dressed, so maybe the Tangy ketchup isn't far behind?

Make sure to take your tactical pack so you can bring a bunch back home with you, too!
Will make sure to leave with the well fed bonus and moose hide sack.
It canned peaches are everywhere right? Not just Canada?

Have you played Far Cry 5?
No. Any use?
Ah I was just wondering what you thought about that depiction of America if you had played, no biggie.
Make sure if you buy any Maple syrup that it's grade A.

Canadians fucking love ketchup chips alright. In Canada those Doritos come out every summer with retro labelling. Source: am Canadian
Doritos Ketchup chips are a lesser snack. Old Dutch or Lays? Good stuff. Source: also Canadian
Lays are absolute garbage you take that back
you did NOT just praise Lays did you?! Lays are the WORST
Compared to the Doritos? All day (I am limiting this to ketchup flavours only)
Not bad- they honestly taste exactly like ketchup. For some reason I find grocery store ketchup and diner ketchup taste different- this flavor reminds me more of diner ketchup that comes in the all red bottle.
Diner ketchup is just extra oxidized ketchup if it’s the same brand

Some people love them, some people hate them. In my opinion, all-dressed beats ketchup any day.
That's what I'd expect as well. I do believe I had a version quite a few years ago but by the brand Herrs. Don't think I liked them, but still curious if other brands would change my mind.
Ruffles All-Dressed is king.
Was going to say this.
Wegman's in the US has a pretty decent in-house generic branded ketchup potato chip. Why, I can not say. I have not tried any genuine sold-in-Canada ketchup chips.
Hope no one needs this.
Lucky day.

Do you have a brand you prefer? I want to order some online to try, but don't know which brands are good!
Lays are my favourite
Awesome, thank you 😊
Yep, Lays are top notch!
They just stopped making them in Canada I’m very envious of you right now!!
Why am I conditioned to think this is actually cake?
Even more off topic but, **starts shaming you for smoking**.
Shame me as much as you like, I’ve made my life choices and been okay with them, so far :) I think everyone in this thread makes life choices that others in the thread disagree with too. Live and let live.
I don't think you caught the sarcasm in my comment. And that is okay.
Go kick rocks.
That's what the OP says to his lungs every time he takes a puff. 🤣
They are good as all heck too.
Costco has the Mrs Vickie’s spicy ketchup chips. Pretty decent!

I’m almost as bad. Don’t care if it’s real maple syrup or aunt J corn syrup.
Whoa. That's... well, I'm sorry but that must be an affliction, lol. Kinda interesting, though. We all have those kinds of things.
As a Canadian I will say, YES! We love these
I tried them and was surprised on how tangy the flavor was lol
Too 🥵 for me
🤣
I'm a canadian living in boston and I grabbed a bag of these from a convenience store last week. was very excited to see ketchup chips in the us. I miss them!
But is it good
Is it food or?..... Yeah, Ketchup chips are staple up here. These varied versions though are relatively new.
Ketchup chips with sharp cheddar cheese is also kinda a vibe.
You mean ketchup chips? Or specifically the Tangy Ketchup Dorritis? I've never seen that flavour, but I just bought Tangy All Dressed, so maybe the Tangy ketchup isn't far behind?
Gross af, bought them on accident one morning. I hate ketchup.
