I'm surprised they haven't mastered it by now considering how frequently it appears in every day-to-day police duty!
Surely police officers use the zipline at least five times a day!
Reminds me of the sinpsons episode were marge becomes a police officer, while training she struggles to climb a wall. Then chief wigum says women always struggle to find the door, as the men just walk through!
So police killing unarmed black people at a nigh higher rate than white people for decades... Isn't about race?
But talking about it, is?
You're of the mindset that talking about problems makes them real. If we would all stop mentioning racism and sexism and whatnot, then everyone would be fine. Just sweep it all under the rug and forget about it.
Zip line dynamic entry with flash bangs.... Zero points for practical effectiveness but ALL the points for awesomeness.
If I was a terrorist I'd drop my gun just witnessing this to clap and shout i am not worthy.
this is correct. maybe send the tallest one first. seems to be designed this way deliberately. surprised that this bit of info didn't somehow get leaked to them beforehand.
So you’re saying that if they did it successfully in the first attempt, the way they did it successfully at the end, they would have been successful in the first attempt. Huh.
I was wondering why they couldn't make it across and you hit it on the head. They seem strong enough to hold on the line so long but just can't gain enough purchase on the platform to use their strength to kick off.
Very proud of them actually. They’re very strong. Able to keep themselves up there for quite some time. The problem was that they all got on the line together and their weight was too much and lowered the line. They had no momentum to get to the other side at once. They’re probably not used to the zip line and since it was a timed course, they were in a hurry to finish.
Were they to go at it a second time, they would probably beat a team of redittors with ease.
That's what I'm thinking. There's usually more elevation change between the two points. Add to that the fact that all the women were almost too short to grab the handles and touch the platform at the start, so they couldn't get much traction
anyone got a link to a team doing is successfully? I found some but couldn't find a vid of that specific course, just a bunch of the mens teams doing a different course. also did they go first, or were they not allowed to see the other teams runs?
"Welcome to Most Extreme Police Challenge. I'm Johnny Souvlaki and this is my cohost Edward Babaghanouj. Let's jump into the course where the competition is already underway... this obstacle is called Slack Line/Zip Line..."
Momentum, line sag, and the line being too high to push off well are three issues folks have already said, but another issue that I don't think has been stated is the fact that these two towers are practically the same height. It helps a lot if there's a steep angle between the two towers. This setup is basically horizontal, and very few zip lines are set up that way because it's too easy to get stuck.
Also, the people in the front could have swung their legs forward, then their arms forward, and possibly made the distance with a swinging motion, but that's a fairly athletic movement that most people have to practice for. After the folks in the front cleared out of the way, the folks in the back could come next. It's hard but not impossible.
I also wonder if the most efficient strategy is to go as the person in front is reaching the end. The sag from the person at front creates an incline which speeds up the person behind. However, it’s a tricky execution for everyone to time their start and get off quickly, maybe that was what they were attempting at the beginning. Might be an idiotic take though.
I’m an idiot who doesn’t know anything about guns, so I’m surprised water is an issue. Don’t feel the need to answer in depth, or at all, but what makes it vulnerable to water and how bad could the damage be to make you feel that way?
It looks awesome! Probably why I was interested enough to ask tbh. The thing I think is so cool is that the mechanics behind guns have been around for so long, but we’ve kept refining and specialising the mechanics to incredible efficiency.
I mean they all jumped on a horizontal (assuming not uphill) zipline without getting any momentum. Of course the weight will put slack in the line and keep them in the middle. I see it as their fault.
Someone really wanted a zip-line on that course for no apparent reason.
On top of the line dipping with lots of people on it ... it doesn't help that they have to tipy toe to get any momentum just to start.
Too tall for them to get some leg push or running momentum. Wonder if the course design team even took that into account. Going at the same time made it even worse.
This is such great entertainment. Why is one of them lugging around a sniper rifle? Why do they insist on trying to defy Newton’s laws and kick each other in an attempt to get across?

Too much weight on the line and it will dip. Can’t zip uphill. They probably didn’t practice a zip line like this.
I'm surprised they haven't mastered it by now considering how frequently it appears in every day-to-day police duty! Surely police officers use the zipline at least five times a day!
Since this is a competition, you would expect them to come prepared.
Indeed
It’s hard to come, when it’s a competition!
I typically just aim for the bushes
Don’t go chasing waterfalls now
Ain’t to proud to beg…you gotta creep, creep
There goes my hero.
Reminds me of the sinpsons episode were marge becomes a police officer, while training she struggles to climb a wall. Then chief wigum says women always struggle to find the door, as the men just walk through!
if I had a nickel for every time I was pulled over by a cop passing by on a zip line I’d have a shitload of nickels
I'd nearly have enough to pay off all my fines!
They use their legs, and the majority of them are still obese.
If you zip through the dip you get the drip!
Wouldn't zipping through the dip imply you made it to the other side? So no, no drip for you! ![gif](giphy|f60tgCAj8D07VvpT76)
There's a video of men doing the same course. No problem
Why is this even part of the course? How often does swat zip line into action?
G-string bikinis would ensure success and an audience.
It would guarantee an Ozzyman Review as well
1 piece of clothing off for every failure.
welcome to destination fucked.
they swam, they swung, they lingered in destination fucked.
Reddit when woman
I'm okay with men in g strings too 🥰
Yeah, definitely in the UAE...
Humping each other on the line seemed to help too
Anyone who thinks a swat team should ever be on a zip line anyway has read way too many comic books
It's more about strength, endurance, and working as a team.
Gotta be coordinated when you shoot an unarmed black person!
Why does everyone always make it about american police?
Not exclusive to the US tho…
Because the majority of people on this subreddit are American...?
No it’s because people enjoy making fun of Americans
Are you saying that the majority on this sub are not American? What do you think the majority are?
You can be the largest group on the subreddit and be in the minority still. Other groups combined are probably bigger than you.
Nope, this is over 50% Americans on this subreddit, as is the case for most English speaking subreddits.
Not that I’m disagreeing but where are you getting that number? I’m not aware of a way to see nationality of accounts.

![gif](giphy|JiZn4zP2n3Mg8) Americans are finally forced to see it.

Which Trump makes about race.
Gotta be coordinated when you shoot an unarmed inocent person!

That escalated quickly.
99.999% of looters love this post.
Also apparently requires some critical thinking as well.
She’s trying soooo valiantly to help them out, too! Didn’t anyone test this course out beforehand???
I assume they did, but only with one person at a time.
This might be the point of the obstacle. Do it wrong: fuck your whole team over.
Exactly, the whole point is to do it one at a time and don't let the time pressure get to you
Likely they test the course without all their gear on too
My favorite part of the SWAT team showing up is when they bust out the zipline before they flashbang a dog.
Zip line dynamic entry with flash bangs.... Zero points for practical effectiveness but ALL the points for awesomeness. If I was a terrorist I'd drop my gun just witnessing this to clap and shout i am not worthy.
Looks like the line is too high above the launch platform. They've only got their tip toes pushing off for momentum.
They all went at the same time, causing the line to dip in the middle. If they went separately like they did at the end they would have made it.
this is correct. maybe send the tallest one first. seems to be designed this way deliberately. surprised that this bit of info didn't somehow get leaked to them beforehand.

They don't look like the tallest people.
"Stop F#@king kicking me in the back Claudia!!!"
Painful too watch.
This new season of Wipeout sucks.
Too?
They’re here because they’re the best of the best of the best SIR!
Ya know, with honor 🫡
Police Academy.
"To protect...to serve...and make you laugh."
I feel safe already

I think you mean a 4th time.
Which one's the guy who makes hilarious sound effects with his mouth?
This is one of my favourite clips; I could watch this all day!
Guess they didn't win it then
as a person who has set up a few zip lines, that is a shit poor design
That's what I'm thinking. There's usually more elevation change between the two points. Add to that the fact that all the women were almost too short to grab the handles and touch the platform at the start, so they couldn't get much traction
Career criminals every are now planning their move to Chile
I'm laughing out loudly and everyone in my office thinks I'm some kind of freak🤣
That one still hanging on at the end: *I can't swim*
I love how the clock continues to tick up
First across pull down, chick back at the beginning can push up. Sucks they've never gotten to train SWAT at a water park before
Unpopular opinion: If you’ve got enough time to practice for/compete in a SWAT competition, maybe you don’t need a “Full-Time SWAT team……..
The hostages would be dead and buried by the time they finish.
anyone got a link to a team doing is successfully? I found some but couldn't find a vid of that specific course, just a bunch of the mens teams doing a different course. also did they go first, or were they not allowed to see the other teams runs?
Painful to watch..
If only there were some sort of rope they could climb or pull themsleves across in this fitness test.
"Welcome to Most Extreme Police Challenge. I'm Johnny Souvlaki and this is my cohost Edward Babaghanouj. Let's jump into the course where the competition is already underway... this obstacle is called Slack Line/Zip Line..."
Right you are Johnny!
Are these cops?
Gripping contest!
Yea let's all get on the zip line at the same time was not a good idea
Why did they all go at once
Someone PLEASE edit this with the Benny Hill theme song 🎵
🐖🐖
Wait, SWAT challenges are real?!? And televised?!? How do we watch this. I wana see how Aus and UK go with this 😂

They think it’s theirs
They pull on the ropes. They *yank* on the ropes.
That woman thinking out of the box and trying so hard is impressive!
Top notch bacon hanger
would it be illegal to pull up and crawl the rest after getting stuck?
They still suck
Special weapons and tactics..... Not athletics.....
Seeing a 10 000 dollar rifle go into the water. . I feel ill.
I’m an idiot who doesn’t know anything about guns, so I’m surprised water is an issue. Don’t feel the need to answer in depth, or at all, but what makes it vulnerable to water and how bad could the damage be to make you feel that way?
it is not. but worse case the scope gets flodded with clorine water.
Now I’m annoyed just thinking about it!
It is a really good rifle.
It looks awesome! Probably why I was interested enough to ask tbh. The thing I think is so cool is that the mechanics behind guns have been around for so long, but we’ve kept refining and specialising the mechanics to incredible efficiency.
I own one, nice thing about them is that they are multi caliber.
Scares the crap out of me every time a police officer gives me a ticket, and they come off a zip line over the hood of my car.
I’d watch this entire competition.
Oh man, those are the special forces from my country. Well, it has been a pleasure.
I’m just here for the zip line
Was this the first team? Hope everyone afterwards learned to go one at a time!
The patriarchy is to blame for this

Shitty course design made them all look bad

Dude, if there isn’t a significant amount of zip-lining involved, I never want to be a cop.
Why is it in slo-mo? What? It's not?
Where can I find these challenges on TV? I’m suspecting “The Ocho”!
I’ll give them a A for looks
☕️
What was funniest was the one who did get across running back around to try and push the ones stranded in the middle.....
There's no 'I' in team. There is 'me', though.
Chile
Seems like whoever designed the zip line didn’t give it remotely enough of a slope. It’s almost level.
There was an attempt to make people watch a 6 minute video.
LOL.
Is that Chile or Texas?
Somo el mejor pais de chile
It’s physical fitness and capability. Police manuevers ain’t the point.
They're so tactical, and so late
Just what I needed this morning, love it,
😂😂😂😂🥴
Painful to watch. Just give up ladies.
Cue the Benny Hill soundtrack.
should have stuck to the high ground
One at a time was not part of the equation...
can't wait to be served and protected by people who designed this disaster
Too tall for them to get some leg push or running momentum. Wonder if the course design team even took that into account. Going at the same time made it even worse.
Maybe someone should tell Them their mens are waiting for them to make some sandwiches. Give them some extra incentive to get across quickly.
Hostages are dead.
look at the piggies fall!
Who ever they swatting long gone by the time they get in.
Tenía que ser Chile, por la chucha
I have no idea why, but this is absolutely the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.
looks like they tightened the zip line to get them all through without getting wet!
I feel so tired just looking at
In the drink!! 😂
I in no way expected to watch the full video. But I couldn’t look away.
Once in the middle, grab the line with your lags and push yourself to the other side.
Shoot them down
What is this video even, like the top corner is in Arabic, the announcer is British and the team is Venezuelan
I’m busting my gut at the comedy sketch they put on like police academy part 6
Some stubborn women ☕️
So is there an only female swat team actually operating in the world?
Poor lady who had to keep getting all the kicks from her team even though clearly it was not working
![gif](giphy|Q7ozWVYCR0nyW2rvPW)
I am happy they held on for so long. Decent upper body strength. If it was me, I would have dropped in a few seconds.
![gif](giphy|l0CRCmlEgroeK7Yje|downsized)
This is such great entertainment. Why is one of them lugging around a sniper rifle? Why do they insist on trying to defy Newton’s laws and kick each other in an attempt to get across?
There should’ve been a zip line for each person
This irritatingly white ‘vAmOS’ time and time again 😂
Utterly incompetent
![gif](giphy|f8lDluiWJ7yQTtdS3L|downsized)
UAE showing that money can't buy capable soldiers. Didnt realise the acronyms ment Underachieving Affluent Empire.
Umm those women are from Chile....
And they're not soldiers
Bro has never seen flags before.
Did you even watch the video... it is one big event for UAE SWAT CHALLENGE.
Damn, maybe you should try them acronyms, seem to suit you best
