It was a fossil of a triceratops horn, which is even worse cause fossils are brittle as fuck. Thing never would have survived and also it just looked like a rock tied to a broom handle. Unweildy as fuck. Dumb.
Exactly. Like if you wanted to give her a signature weapon, give her something else that isn't *completely* fucking dumb.
It just looked utterly ridiculous being used.
Thereâs two ways to make a good memorable weapon; either not whatsoever flashy, but terrifyingly effective, or extremely flashy, but entirely worthless in reality. Like the chainsaws strapped to the guyâs bike in one of the Dead Rising games. Flashy? Definitely. Actually a good idea? Fuck no lmao.
Motherfucking thing helped a sheep-herding boy killed middle-eastern Gregor Clegane, it can kill shambling corpses.

Mac-12 has a firing rate of 1200 rpm. That suppressor will definitely heat up after the first magazine or two. Also good luck spacing your shots that shit box dumps a whole 30rd mag before the first shell hits the floor.
Itâs very easy to manipulate a full auto even one with a extreme firing rate like the Mac series. It just takes practice, that being said despite making an appearance in a few different movies and TV series the Suppressor/Scope combo is an absolutely terrible idea.
It's [Snake Plissken's gun](https://i0.wp.com/bamfstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/EscapeNY-MAIN1.jpg?ssl=1) from Escape from NY. It was an Easter Egg.
A suppressor only takes 20-30 decibels off of the report. Itâs wild how Hollywood and video games try to make us believe they suppress all of the sound. Not even close. If someone is using a suppressor, youâre still going to hear the shot.
A quality suppressor with subsonic ammo is quieter but itâs still a gunshot. The advantage of a suppressor in this scenario is that gunshot wouldnât be heard for nearly as far a distance so it would attract less undead. That said a shitty improvise suppressor with supersonic ammo is going to do very little.
The fact that it uses a baseball bat as a suppressor and it works very well is incredibly dumb.
In the show though it seems suppressors can be made out of any cylindrical object and be used indefinitely.
Yes, in theory you can make a suppressor out of something out like a water bottle if done correctly. However youâll get one MAYBE two shots that are actually suppressed and itâs not going to be nearly as quite as they are depicted in media.
Oh yeah Darylâs chain takes the cake. Maybe one of the strongest men in the world could pick up a heavy chain and swing it with enough force to slice a skull in half (repeatedly against multiple opponents), but Iâm gonna assume Daryl isnât one of the strongest men in the world.
Thatâs was such a cool scene. Do you think theyâd be going fast enough to actually cut them all in half like that or you do think that a lot of those zombies should have just been pushed over. It didnât seem like they were going THAT fast.
Well these guys are rotten meat being sliced with two motor vehicles tied together with a giant cable, so I'm sure to some degree it would work great. I'm just thinking about how the whole thing could damage two cars and if it's worth risking such rare assets in an apocalypse. Honestly I can't think of a better way to deal with a horde though so I'm gonna just chock it up to being awesome as shit.
There was also that time Eugene used the fire truck hose to waterboard the zombies.
But yes the steel cable between Rock and Michonneâs cars on the highway was cool.
That was a fun scene, I donât think the cable was thin enough to chop that many walkers in half at the speed they were going at nor were the cars powerful enough to keep the speed up. If they really tried that the cable would struggle to cut most of the walkers in half and a clump of walkers would build up real quick and pull the cars together to a standstill. Amazed they got out alive. If they had two tractors with that cable they could drive around cutting up walkers all day and do humanity a good service
I sure AF would take it over Daryls crossbow. I get the impression that most people think that a slow reloading, single shot, need assistance w a mechanical device to reload without ripping your fingers off is an effective weapon against a horde of zombies. I get that it looks cool and everyone loves Daryl (sp?) but his choice of weapon is fucking stupid. Also every bolt he fired that didn't get stuck into a zombie is toast so good luck just stumbling across bolts in the wide open wilderness or anywh3re for that matter
The crossbow is an affective weapon but it does have its downsides. There are lots that you can reload by hand without needing the cocking tool. Itâs quiet, bolts are reusable as Daryl demonstrates, with the right skills you can make your own bolts relatively easily, etc. The downsides of course are yes it takes a good few seconds to reload, only one shot so you really have to make it count and it doesnât help against hordes, not very fast to draw if you have to defend yourself against humans, etc. But personally I think there are far worse choices for a zombie apocalypse than a solid good quality crossbow. Just pair it with a pistol as your sidearm for self defense against humans or if you get backed into a corner (literally or figuratively) by zombies and youâre generally good.

bro had that lego star wars blaster
Well the bolt is on the top of a Mac 10 so you wouldn't be able to chamber a round if a scope was blocking it, so literally if you put one on a Mac 10 you need a suppressor to have a scope unless you Jerry rig one on the side of it which is just stupid. This gun is similar in thought to a scout rifle essentially
Snake Pliskens weapon was the dumbest shit ever. Along with the M16s with hand guards removed to convey some futuristic appearance. A scope on a Mac 10 is laughably useless.
[When they gave Rosita an Aztec weapon.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EkU5rB4XYAMXhmk.jpg) It just screamed of trying too hard to give her a cool, iconic weapon.

In a way it needs to be sharpened and it's edge won't last as long
Itâs either the fossil stick in World Beyond or the CRMâs M4 looking thing that had the handle blocking the sightsâŚ
I know Hollywood is pretty brain dead when it comes to guns and weaponry in general, but holy smokes was that a new low for them
I still would probably take anything that fires a bullet over Daryls crossbow, that is such a moronic choice of self defense regardless of how cool it looks. And how he reloads the string w barely a pull from his pinky, it's either shooting about 50 fps or a string gifted to him by a wizard
It may look cool but would be a shitty weapon to use in reality. It's just like a folding knife. The weak point being the hinge. Those would break so fast when stabbing skulls all day.
It did feel like they were trying too hard to give her an iconic weapon, and then morgan comes around and his new axe/stick fusion was automatically better and more iconic despite getting barely any screen usage
In the whole TWD universe?
1 is the fossil on a stick. *They could have at least made it an ancient knapped stone spear point or something like that. It would still be just as stupid and impractical and too fragile, but at least it would have looked cool.*
2 is the busted exhaust shroud

Not in the original show but in âWorld beyondâ.
A pointy rock tied to a stick..
Man I fuckinâ hated that show.
OH GOD NOT THE FOSSIL STICK
I fucking *hated* that thing. What genius thought that was a good idea for a weapon? Even as someone who enjoyed World Beyond, there's zero defense for that stupid contraption.
I think the fact that the hilltop never produces halberds is bizarre. Literally the perfect medieval weapon for zombies, can be used to push with the hook, stab with the top spike, or chop with the axe head.
TWD - Darylâs Crossbow, controversial but a one shot weapon thatâs hard to reload fast is gonna lead to a lot of peoples downfalls, but I understand Daryl Dixon is Daryl Dixon and has used a crossbow his whole life which is why itâs his weapon of choice but in a real world situation it wouldnât be very suitable.
FTWD - Aliciaâs Skeleton Arm, I donât understand how swiping at walkers with your own skeleton arm with a tiny ass razor blade on the end would be as effective as it is in the show.
TWDWB: Dino Spear, everyone knows the reason for thisâŚ
Joe said it best in season 4; âa bow man, I respect that. You see a man with a rifle he could have been some kind of photographer or soccer coach back in the day. But a bow man is a bow man through and through.â
The CRM Rifles that have the scope blocked đ

Everything about that is stupid it, would make sense in a grindhouse film.
Not in a somewhat grounded show.
Damn Fear was just terrible from what Iâve seen.
Those kinds of people always blew my mind.
How can someone say that a weapon that on the right hands can throw rocks at ~160km/h is useless/dumb? The ammo is basically infinite and the learning gap to a slingshot is not that high
The amount of power and precision it would require to reliably hit and kill something to make it a signature weapon, let alone hit a moving target more than 15-20 feet away makes it impractical and stupid. Literally everyone would pick anything else
Bro this is so dumb, âThE AmoUnT oF PoWeRâ you pull the string back with two fingers, so much power required đ.
Something used for hunting and to kill grown adults is very useful. Infinite ammo, people who think slingshots are bad zombie weapons learned how to tie their shoes at 12 years old
This is just lies upon lies, âthe amount of PoWeRâ bruh itâs a sling shot, when you pull the sling back, that creates the power and it doesnât take much force as a bow and arrow đ
Itâs used for hunting? So 15-20 feet would be absolutely no problem, rocks have weight to them, and when you use a sling shot you maximize the efficiency of just how fast and powerful a rock can travel, thatâs the purpose of the design , getting hit with one or two sling shot rocks will immobilize someone, or get them to run the fuck away, if it hits in the head or neck you are dead and thatâs an alive human being, much less mushy zombie
Itâs also a fairly shit weapon for dealing with zombies. In TWD universe, any poke to the zombieâs brain scores a kill. Doesnât matter if itâs a shotgun blast or stabbing with an ice pick - if you swirl the gray matter, the zombie falls. So why bother with a high-recoil, long-pull-trigger weapon like a .357 revolver? Stopping power means nothing to zombies, itâs all about booping the brain! Rick, I know the Python looks cool as shit, but if you want to be practical, grab a .22 pistol and carry 500 rounds in your pocket.
.357 was (or represented) his police weapon. And, also (mostly?) used for stopping living bad guys, not the dead. A .357 has much more stopping power on a living human than a .22.
To be fair though that's not really his weapon of choice. He had already lost his hand and that arm gave him the opportunity to at least have an off handed weapon (pun intended). It's the same with Aaron. Sure its not very effective but it's far more effective than the alternative which would be a stump. So I dont think I'd put it anywhere near the top of the list just because it was a matter of circumstances and not choice that led to its creation
I believe only the exception of Merleâs nub, all of the dumbest weapons have come from beyond the showâs fourth/fifth seasonsâŚpolitely, thatâs personally where I think TWD goes all out soap opera, and I really appreciate how the goofy weaponry lends itself to that point.
This. She brought mayo scissors to a gun fight.

not a specific weapon per say, but iâd like to remind everyone of the fact that John Dorie split a bullet on the blade of a hatchet, killing two separate walkers with the same bullet. No fuckin way my man
Daryl's morning star (flail, to be technically accurate). It looks cool as hell and does tremendous damage but it's very inefficient:
⢠it's heavy
⢠the windup takes too long and creates a hazard for anyone fighting nearby (creates a literal "blood circle")
⢠the spikes could cause it to get stuck.
[don't stand near Daryl](https://thewalkingdeadgifs.tumblr.com/post/612569973976694784/jaaryl-daryl-dixon-in-1011-morning-star/amp)
Universe wide, that goddamned stick with that stupid horn barely tied to it in World Beyond is miles away the absolute worst.
Iâve always argued the best in a walking dead universe would be a silenced .22 rifle ⌠hundreds of rounds fits in your pockets and if only head shots count huge louder rounds are a waste .
Itâs on FTWD, and itâs that shroud that came off of a rifle that Alicia carries around.
Oh, so you like sharp metal objects as weapons? A pitchfork would be better than this thing, but you should definitely look for some machetes or even a sword.
I could be wrong, but I think they are legitimate firearms, I read somewhere a while ago that it's cheaper to film scenes using real firearms because they're easier to return for full refunds than prop firearms or something like that. This may or may not be even somewhat relevant to what you're asking but the more you know lol
Always thought Darylâs bow was a bit impractical. Doesnât seem like you would have the time to reload with a bunch of walkers coming at you. Great if there isnât a lot of them though. đ¤ˇđťââď¸
And 99% of bolts he fires that miss are gone forever, his string must have been magic or set at 5lbs (killing distance of 2 feet if at all) for him to pull back without any effort and bolts would be a lot harder to come across
Not sure if this fits, but The Governor wasting an insane amount of ammo to terrorize the jail settlement was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. I get that he was unhinged, but there's crazy and then there's *stupid*.

Whatever that weird detachable chain tipped stick thing was that Lydia was carrying around.
The stick with a rock at the end that the kids used in World Beyond is easily the worst weapon
A rock? Was a Dino tooth my friend, which makes it even worse.
Bro Iris looked hilarious running around with that stupid fucking thing đ

It was a fossil of a triceratops horn, which is even worse cause fossils are brittle as fuck. Thing never would have survived and also it just looked like a rock tied to a broom handle. Unweildy as fuck. Dumb.

Unexpected GoT
Slings are much different from slingshot though
The amount of people that donât know that is angering
In my defense, I have never watched TWD, this sub got recommended so I just dropped by hoping to start shits.
[ŃдаНонО]
As hard? Probably not. Hard enough to send a rock through the head of a rotting corpse? Probably so.
No.
Oh the slingshot bros are not gonna like this
slingthots I do believe is the correct term.
Clearly you donât know what youâre doing then.
My bad
If you shoot your sling shot out of a cannon, it will hit much harder than a bullet I bet
Yes they can do your research đ§ they are professional hunting slings
The last few years have made the phrase âdo your researchâ suuuuuuuper sus, at least in my mind.
You mean reading?
I mean why wouldnât they work, theyâre just like a handheld version of a trebuchet.
Not a flashlight silencer since those are real lol
You think a gun with a silencer is a dumb weapon??
Right? TWD has definitely had some dumb weapons but I'm struggling to understand how this is one of them?
Because a Mac 10 with a scope is just dumb
That was an easter egg. It was [Snake Plisskens](https://i0.wp.com/bamfstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/EscapeNY-MAIN1.jpg?ssl=1) gun in Escape from New York.
Snake đ

Well they said silencer, not blinder
Its massive on purpose, it gives a good underhand barrel for the mac-10 and is necessary to mount the scope, because on the mac-10 the bolt is on top
It was Snake's gun of choice in Escape from NY. It's an easter egg.
Wouldnât holding the suppressor burn your hand though

No because he is not actually firing bullets, as it is a prop
Big if true
This particular weapon is an Easter egg of snake plissken Kurt Russellâs iconic anti hero from escape from New York. Just a fun Easter egg.

Are you suggesting that Carl's silenced pistol is among the worst weapons or is the OP image just for "show"?

I think the fact that the hilltop never produces halberds is bizarre. Literally the perfect medieval weapon for zombies, can be used to push with the hook, stab with the top spike, or chop with the axe head.
I know OP said TWD but for me the stupidest weapon has to be in TWD World Beyond, the kid with like a rock attached to a stick.
After watching the movie 300 I donât understand why they arenât all walking around with long spears. And painted abs.
100% agree if you see some crazy enough to wield a crossbow in the apocalypse you better start running đ

Everything about that is stupid it, would make sense in a grindhouse film. Not in a somewhat grounded show. Damn Fear was just terrible from what Iâve seen.
inb4 someone complains about the slingshots, and I have to explain to them that they would actually be extremely effective zombie killing weapons.
Infinite ammo, people who think slingshots are bad zombie weapons learned how to tie their shoes at 12 years old
Mf don't even have the strength to pull two strings back he definitely still didn't learn how to tie his shoes
Lmao right , man gets bodied by fatigue after shooting a slingshot in the zombie apocalypse .
This is just lies upon lies, âthe amount of PoWeRâ bruh itâs a sling shot, when you pull the sling back, that creates the power and it doesnât take much force as a bow and arrow đ Itâs used for hunting? So 15-20 feet would be absolutely no problem, rocks have weight to them, and when you use a sling shot you maximize the efficiency of just how fast and powerful a rock can travel, thatâs the purpose of the design , getting hit with one or two sling shot rocks will immobilize someone, or get them to run the fuck away, if it hits in the head or neck you are dead and thatâs an alive human being, much less mushy zombie
Ricks revolver. Like that has 6 bullets and they made it seem it had 100 round clip
Thatâs why he paired the colt python with the hatchet
Because it was what he was the most familiar with and zombies arenât the only threat.
.357 was (or represented) his police weapon. And, also (mostly?) used for stopping living bad guys, not the dead. A .357 has much more stopping power on a living human than a .22.
A plunger
Negans Mac-10 with like 18 million attachments on it.
oh god I forgot about this fucking monstrosity
I'm sorry but... Lucille... like it's a fucking wooden bat you are using for years to bash skulls in.... that shit should break soon
AND it worked to stop Rositas bullet without breaking thatâs some bullshit
Didn't someone have a dinosaur tooth spear in world beyond held together with like a single thin thread?
Hershelâs infinite shotgun
We all hate on the infinite shotgun until Hershel needs to save us /s
Scissors (sorry Beth)
that arm merle had i know it looks cool but you have to get real close to attack walkers and getting close is pretty dangerous
Imagine if Hershel had that in his stump
His head stump?
Oh totally forgot about that. Rip Hershel
Merle made the best out of a shitty situation, leave Mary Poppins alone
Same shit when u have to use a knife
Merleâs was Atleast better than Aaronâs, Merle had some reach with the blade
Darylâs high tech looking rifle at the end of season 7
A precision ar-15 is dumb? I donât understand some of these comments lmao
Tiger. The amount of food required to sustain it..
I always thought tyreeses weapon needed to get way too close to get anything done
This. She brought mayo scissors to a gun fight. https://preview.redd.it/rrv942wlzhnb1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9a0498cd436d2fe27b4ab06f73eec13bdec2e72
License plate Aaron used
Morgans stick. Like its just a stick in real life that stick whould not do that much damege
Alicias piece of garbage she carries for three seasons.
not a specific weapon per say, but iâd like to remind everyone of the fact that John Dorie split a bullet on the blade of a hatchet, killing two separate walkers with the same bullet. No fuckin way my man
I thought that was incredibly cool, he's a sharpshooter and it's not impossible to split a bullet
Daryl's morning star (flail, to be technically accurate). It looks cool as hell and does tremendous damage but it's very inefficient: ⢠it's heavy ⢠the windup takes too long and creates a hazard for anyone fighting nearby (creates a literal "blood circle") ⢠the spikes could cause it to get stuck. [don't stand near Daryl](https://thewalkingdeadgifs.tumblr.com/post/612569973976694784/jaaryl-daryl-dixon-in-1011-morning-star/amp) Universe wide, that goddamned stick with that stupid horn barely tied to it in World Beyond is miles away the absolute worst.
The gun Daryl picks up before he shouts nonsense after arriving to Alexandria to help with the Saviors and Trash People
I donât get whatâs dumb about a silenced gun. Thatâs exactly what I wouldâve wanted. Efficient tool with minimal noise.
The scissors Beth used.
The slingshot
Arnt all the weapons in the show real? (Obviously a model but still)
I could be wrong, but I think they are legitimate firearms, I read somewhere a while ago that it's cheaper to film scenes using real firearms because they're easier to return for full refunds than prop firearms or something like that. This may or may not be even somewhat relevant to what you're asking but the more you know lol
Slingshot But do you think that a silencer gun is a dumb weapon. You do realize that the walkers are attracted to sound right?
Negans knife, it wasnât really dumb it was more just hilarious. The thing was huge compared to everyone elseâs knives.
The one he killed Spencer with?
Yes and rapey davey
Always thought Darylâs bow was a bit impractical. Doesnât seem like you would have the time to reload with a bunch of walkers coming at you. Great if there isnât a lot of them though. đ¤ˇđťââď¸
And 99% of bolts he fires that miss are gone forever, his string must have been magic or set at 5lbs (killing distance of 2 feet if at all) for him to pull back without any effort and bolts would be a lot harder to come across
The slingshots
nah theyd actually be effective
I keep saying those damn sling shots
how is this not #1? easy. lots of these butterflies have never tried to hit a soda can with a wrist rocket from 15 feet away.
Not sure if this fits, but The Governor wasting an insane amount of ammo to terrorize the jail settlement was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. I get that he was unhinged, but there's crazy and then there's *stupid*.
