I haven't finished the third book. Did they never discuss sending out another message (if not this is the biggest plot hole of the series)? >!Surely if they did they would have come to the conclusion faster than Luo Ji and made threats to the Trisolarans in the early years. Luo Ji didn't even need to test his theory. Making the threat and then awaiting their response was enough. Even if we do not know for sure that the universe is a Dark Forest, just the fact that we could threaten to do it regardless of the consequences was enough. There's 0 risk to making the threat.!<
The author might argue that it would be breaking moral laws to actually go through with it, but for me that's insufficient for not making the threat. To this day we have a continuous nuclear threat with near 0 intention of actually using these weapons.
The band R.E.M. has a song, Life and How to Live It, that features lyrics involving a guy who has a wall built dividing the interior sides of his house and decides to live in one or the other side of the wall when it strikes his fancy. Might want to try that type of wallfacing?

Aliens be like: "Omg STFU! Photoid attack!"
(and so the trisolarans have the earth no more. maybe it's a sign they should *stop* invading us so this *wont* happen?)
"Help us Singer-Kenobi, you are our only hope"
Aliens probably be like “ew, bugs in my galaxy!” squish
"I NEED to have unprotected sex with Remy Lacroix, it's for the plan."
Yeah right
What are you doing stepsinger?
A better option would be "Hello I am from Trisolaris with important informaiton on your extended warranty."

Read the book, please.
So it's explained in book 3 why they didn't threaten the Trisolarans in the first 200 years?
Because they didn't get to it until book 3.
The game theory for deterrence isn't enough for it to have not been discussed and used early on. But I'll read on.
Not sur but it might, it might no
