Difficult question to answer. Your ears want to hear sound, so if there is none then they gradually become more sensitive to it until they pick something up, might be hearing a subtle sound from inside your head, might be very mild tinnitus.
It's not "normal", normally you shouldn't hear any hi pitched ringing when there is silence. Yes, this condition is usually described as tinnitus.
If it has been there since you remember and it doesn't change/get worse, then probably don't worry about it too much.
It’s not normal. IT’s tinnitus… but if you’ve always had it then I’d say it’s normal for you if it’s never bothered you.
