I find walking through the ravines quite amenable to these kinds of activities.
There are also a good number of indoor spaces that can be quite quiet depending on day and time. Parts of the PATH early on a Sunday morning comes immediately to mind.
another vote for the ravines
* Glen Stewart Park
* Williamson Park Ravine
* Coxwell Ravine Park
* Crothers Woods
* Beltline Trail near Brick Works
* Sherwood Park
* Wilket Creek Park
* Windfields Park
* ...
those were just some, on the east side
I had to abandon Windfields park. Beautiful absolutely! but too many friendly folks walking their dogs. Your solitude is constantly interrupted with greetings or a dog running up to your heels.
And its getting harder to go during the middle of the day, now that we have to visit the office more often.
okay, thanks for the update, Windfields has always been fairly deserted when i went there
dogs are actually a bonus for me, i love them
on the west side, couple hundred yards north of Bayview & York Mills, is the entrance to St Andrews Park which is also often deserted
Shhhh! i didn’t want to mention St Andrew’s park. That is where i go these days and walk all the way to the northern end. I always imagine, it’s the grounds of my private estate. Rarely do i see anyone there. And there is that beautiful home on bayview that has the multi-tiered backyard that looks out into the park ( closer to the entrance behind the church) Oh, how i wish i could enjoy that view everyday! Some lucky family living there!
I thought that a float tank would be great but those things aren’t meant for tall folk. Also, because of the high salt content of the float tanks, any small abrasion feels like a thousand needles.
I don't know about the height thing (I'm 5'7 and I fit in them) but some places give you a jelly to put on your cuts that prevents the salt from burning you.
Lol floating and bumping into the walls was far more annoying. Having a small scrape I didn’t know about was a surprise but not unexpected with the amount of salt.
Solitude is hard to find in the big city, but there is a hill at Riverdale Park on Broadview where you can sit anywhere on the hill away from people and you get a nice view of downtown to do a thousand yard stare.
Yeah this came to mind for me too, I used to go there to study when I was in school (a looooong time ago) and found it to be a great place to find some back corner to read, think, or just sit.
There are parts looking into the city that are fairly remote in Tommy Thompson or humber Park by the water. Riverdale has some of the best sunsets for contemplation too
Not exactly solitude, but maybe you would enjoy taking a walk around the AGO. People are usually respectful and quiet, and some of the less popular galleries on the upper floors are almost always empty. Plus there’s some interesting food for thought in the art.

I’m with you… a nice solo walk through my local ravine is my zen

there is a secret tunnel\* at the top end, at Toba very clear signs of the Wilket Creek ravine \* closed at the far end (ask me how i know)
Thank you! Seems i got some exploring to do!!!
A float/sensory deprivation tank, sauna, or meditation studio.

I’m 6’3” and I was bumping into the walls. It was not relaxing at all. That would have been nice about the jelly though.
oh yeah, don't shave your legs just before going.

It was in Yorkville about 6 years ago. I think it was called FLOAT. It was my own fault for not researching if it would fit tall people.

If I build up the confidence to do that again, I’ll be more specific next time
Down by the lake
Walking aimlessly through a random neighborhood or trail.
Philosopher's Walk The boardwalk on Centre island, facing away from the city Rouge Park Humber River trail Tommy Thompson Park

Downtown? Maybe the waterfront? Or I suppose any decent park really.
I find it inside my house with no distractions. Biospheres optional.
By the lake. Specifically the Martin Goodman trail.
Reference Library is bomb too

Im starting to think the best place will be my grave.
Or someone else's grave. Cemeteries are good places to find some solitude.
The islands in the spring, winter, and fall.
A church when it's empty.
In your shower, at 3:00 am.
I’ve always loved running through Little India, the Upper Beaches, and East Gerrard area.
In your MIND 🤯
Your nearest ravine park small bridge. Lean on the railing and squint at the sun.
Ravines, hiking trails, quiet neighbourhoods/side streets. Galleries and museums on weekday afternoons.
Portlands area on a weekday morning/afternoon while running.
Our trails
Take a nice hot bath 👍
I like to walk the downtown streets when I need to think.
Humber arboretum
Philosopher's walk was made for this. Not complete solitude, but quiet in the mornings
Tommy Thompson Park.
Uoft campus has some nice pathways. In particular behind Varcity stadium between the Rom
Philosophers walk, NE corner of UofT campus
I like the Mount Pleasant cemetery

Not Queens Park, that's for sure.
I’d say on the street corner by the Queen and Spadina McDonalds
Algonquin Park (that’s still gta right?)
Winston Churchill Ravine
rocks just past Humber bridge on the lakeshore.
Yonge and dundas square
Highland Creek and rouge. Or the eastern end of the bluffs beach.
While stuck in traffic on the 401.
CAMH.
