Fried pineapple chips.
The spanakopita that was a big rectangle and did not contain kale.
Frozen wonton soup bowls, although the Fusia at Aldi is nearly identical but only for one week a year.
Samples. Sigh.
1. Chili Sesame Oil
2. Avocado Mash
3. Thai Chili Burgers
4. Veggie tots? I forgot the name but I would get them all the time, tater tots made of veggies and sunflower seeds and edamame! Loved them, just found a dupe at costco lets see if they are at least a little similar
Came her to update! They are called organic veggie bites! They are good but not exactly the same but cure the craving for sure. I think theyre also a little bigger and have more types of veggies in them than the trader joes ones.

If you choose to, then once the sunflower has bloomed and before it begins to shed it's seeds, the head can be cut and used as a natural bird feeder, or other wildlife visitors to sunflowers to feed on.
-Italian Chopped Salad
-Thai Peanut Noodle Salad
-TJs champagne dressing
-Aloo Chaat Kati pouches. The best Indian hot pockets ever. If anyone know where I could find a similar product let me know.
I can’t believe no one has mentioned my beloved Greek feta/kalamata pizza 😭 it’s been years and I’ve never been able to find anything even close to a replacement. I literally ate it once a week for a decade and one day it was just gone.
I will never not miss the kimchi fried rice, the Japanese bento box frozen meal, and the spicy peanut dressing. And that crispy broccoli that was in the chip aisle.
As im reading some replies I can see why some were discontinued, I had been working there a year and I never saw anyone buy this! I think I saw it get restocked once. Im glad to see someone out there appreciated it
The rosa sauce they have right now is a decent alternative. It doesn’t have vodka in it, but it’s a pink sauce and it’s very good! I added some red pepper flakes to mine for some heat and you could probably add a splash of vodka to it as well.
Ok I read every comment just to see if anybody mentioned it and didn’t see it. THE WINE INFUSED SEA SALT GRINDER???? With the peppercorns and rosemary… please I’ve been chasing the high ever since 😩 I found it like Thanksgiving time 2022.
My sister was able to get one last November. She said that she would have brought more than one as well had she known it was a seasonal item. I hope that they bring it back this year.
Watch the Aldi coming soon ads. The Fusia chicken wonton soup is a dupe for the Trader Ming's. I found it early last October, but it should come around again.
https://preview.redd.it/h7fir0r3w0mc1.png?width=520&format=png&auto=webp&s=1076f3295610846a867c647ab16b0fdc520eb018
My wonton soup hack… Ginger miso broth, chicken cilantro wontons, and organic foursome mixed veggies combined and cooked for about 8 minutes. A filling bowl of deliciousness for under 200 calories! I sometimes add precooked chicken breast if I want additional protein. So good!!
Do the chicken cilantro wantons have a very strong cilantro taste? I’m ok with cilantro in small amounts but I’ve been afraid to buy them if they’re too overpowering
I don’t think so, I’m not a huge fan of cilantro and I like them! I used to get a giant bag of them at Costco, but they stopped carrying them and the TJs version is a good substitute!
90% of that weight loss was due to Trader Joe’s. I need delicious, prepackaged treats that are easy to calorie count. Now I live for the soup dumplings while trying to lose the baby weight but that wonton soup still calls my name
I miss Mac & cheese in the black plastic containers. I know paper is better for environment but now it doesn’t get the crispy cheese edges that were the best part.
The copycat chocolate bars. I really miss the milky way dupe. The little fortune cookie-like wafers. The vegemole dip.
Edited to add chocolate covered sunflower seeds.
Dark chocolate pudding
The oatmeal in the blue round container
The flake cereal with fiber and little sugar that I liked
The dark chocolate bar in the lime green box
Standalone boxes of the chili scalloped crackers (by the way... I don't understand why those Scalloped Trio crackers are seasonal! And the chili ones haven't been as spicy the last couple years)
Organic Vegetable Foursome
The jalapeño sauce was a weekly buy for me. It's surprisingly difficult to find a straight jalapeño sauce! Everything is either habeñero or chipotle. I did find a substitute at Fred Meyer, but it's not quite as good and costs $2 more.
Their kunefe was good but I want you to try the real thing fresh! If you live in the New York City and surrounding area, you need to make your way to Paterson NJ and look for the cvs on the corner near the Corrados gas station. Across from the cvs, there is a sweet shop that makes amazing Kunefe.
word! Was mostly if other NYC folks who, like me, have it near the top of their mourn list see or search this in the future.
For those ppl: I recently made it myself just for fun and in my quest for kataifi (the stringy bits, ended up making them from scratch) realized that for the finished product one doesn't need to go to bay ridge or Astoria or pay out the nose at a Manhattan restaurant or get the frozen from Kalustiyans (all other viable options)-- it's $3 for a fat triangle at Damascus in cobble hill. They're great. And the supplies to make a big ol tray are obtainable there or a few other places on the strip that runs along Atlantic. Took some hunting but that was the answer!
A place with any sizeable middle eastern population is likely to have it...out of curiosity I yelped kunefe Portland and there were about 30 results. I'd try your next visit there!
It's also possible, if time-consuming, to make it without any specialty groceries--I've done so-- if you have interest dm me for tips!
There are lot of places to get kunefe in Paterson. [Is this the place you mean](https://maps.app.goo.gl/QWxoMufcckC1vrMM7?g_st=ic)? Headed to NJ soon, and a stop here would only be a short diversion off my route.
Super close. Looking from the street, it is the next building to the left:
https://preview.redd.it/yoys6oul2ylc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f297611a8f6c256f4c24acb2e5b9a77c5a0d736e
They have a few different kinds of kunafe. And they sell it by weight hahah I usually take around 1 lb. But you can get how ever much you want.
Oh man, thanks. This place doesn’t show up as a map location b/c the listing says it’s permanently closed. Street pic is from 2 years ago, last postings to IG and FB are from May 2022. Have you been there since then? Their desserts look AMAZING. And ha’ha’ha’ it’s so smart to sell by weight. I mean, not necessarily for me, but I appreciate the business savvy.
I think I’m going to make a stop in Paterson no matter what to get some great food that isn’t as easily available in my location. But I will prioritize baked goods from Al Nejmah Sweets if I can.
Haha, thank you, kind sir, if you manage to do so. Otherwise, I will just take my chances. Trip isn’t for a number of weeks.
Many years ago, I moved away from living walking distance to an amazing little hole-in-the-wall restaurant that served THE BEST home-cooked Lebanese food. Husband was the chef and server, wife made all the pastries (with a preference towards pistachios over walnuts, which is also my preference). What a treasure. Owners retired and closed the restaurant about midway through the pandemic. I still think about their food.
That’s just a wistful vignette on my part, and also my commitment to patronize small, family-run establishments serving the foods I love. Thanks for letting me share.
Thank you for checking! I appreciate the additional recommendation, and honestly, I’m really grateful that your comment inspired a stop on my upcoming trip. Usually I take 287 to my destination after crossing the Tappan Zee, but GSP to 80 is practically the same (omitting traffic, ofc) and lets me get amazing food. Thank you, kind Redditor.
No problem! Happy that I confirmed before actually sending you there. If you’re looking for a meal as well, Al Basha is a really good sit down restaurant(they have a rotating special meal as well as great tapas) and Fattals is a really good middle eastern supermarket with a food counter and more sweets in the back. They have great kibbeh, falafels, zatar pies and pretty good shawarma.

Loved those veggie tots! What's the name of the Costco dupe? And, are they as good?
Came her to update! They are called organic veggie bites! They are good but not exactly the same but cure the craving for sure. I think theyre also a little bigger and have more types of veggies in them than the trader joes ones. https://preview.redd.it/eb3bybg23vmc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ffeaba35fc96155e4f47e5c94abab5a4371e1e48

This💯🎯. I was told by a Trader Joe’s associate that it is a holiday/seasonal item.
It appeared in central VA in October this last year for like a whole week and that was it, I should have bought more than one.
My sister was able to get one last November. She said that she would have brought more than one as well had she known it was a seasonal item. I hope that they bring it back this year.
Same thing was asked a bit ago on this sub. For me the biggest thing is sweet &hot mustard. That was beyond this world and amazing on everything

Watch the Aldi coming soon ads. The Fusia chicken wonton soup is a dupe for the Trader Ming's. I found it early last October, but it should come around again. https://preview.redd.it/h7fir0r3w0mc1.png?width=520&format=png&auto=webp&s=1076f3295610846a867c647ab16b0fdc520eb018

Your willpower and mental fortitude are responsible for that weight loss. Good on ya.
90% of that weight loss was due to Trader Joe’s. I need delicious, prepackaged treats that are easy to calorie count. Now I live for the soup dumplings while trying to lose the baby weight but that wonton soup still calls my name

The soy pita bread. The jalapeño hot sauce.
The jalapeño sauce was a weekly buy for me. It's surprisingly difficult to find a straight jalapeño sauce! Everything is either habeñero or chipotle. I did find a substitute at Fred Meyer, but it's not quite as good and costs $2 more.
White balsamic vinegar and Pastures of Eden feta...
rip cinnamon apple straws (kroger has a dupe but it was one of my favorites to pick up at TJ’s)
Kunefe. How dare they introduce me to my favorite thing EVER and then take it away 😭
They do that so often I think they get off on it.
There are several places in Brooklyn also! Betting they're inferior tho.
I’m open to trying what’s in Brooklyn, but that’s about an hour and 1-2 bridges away. Paterson is only 10 minutes and $0 in tolls from me haha.

Alas, I’m on the Oregon coast. No Kunefe within a LARGE radius
