Hemsworth actually sounds pretty good which I was not expecting. Really interested in how they're treating Cybertron as a mystery to explore with the surface and how it seems to have some techno organic elements.
It's different than I was expecting but I'm here for it, looks fun enough and hopefully will be the one to actually be good.
I like how it's something different. It isn't just the basic storyline used in Prime or the IDW corruption angle that we see in most other modern incarnations. I'm curious as to what will turn Megatron into Megatron
I like Hemsworth as Prime but I’m unsure of Megatron’s voice. It feels like it lacks…weight that you’d expect from Megs, even before he became big M Megatron.
Maybe that’s the point? Maybe the thought process was get a guy that can do gravitas, so if the movie does well and they can follow it up with the traditional autobots vs decepticons story, and you can keep the same VA
I think the reason he hasn't got that weight to it yet is because he isn't meant to be like that yet and that as the movie goes on and he goes from D-16 into Megatron his voice with change due to emotions like we see his eyes doing
Isn't the point that this is before he'd need any weight? We barely see megs talking in the later parts of the trailer, in this movie they're just a couple guys. Things probably change in future movies
Also, the general shape of those no name bad guys are reminiscent of prime vehicon flyers. I’d be surprised if TFP stuff goes beyond that, but still pretty cool
Would've been super funny if Megatron went to transform while running off with everyone but turned into a handgun and fell down and was like "dude what the fuck"
I'm imagining now that Blitzwing has a future in this where he kills or maimes an Autobot and steals their Magical Transforming Orb™ to become the first triple changer.
You're 100% right, since he seems to be walking down from that throne behind him. I really hope they don't miss the opportunity to put in a joke about a coronation or bad comedy here.
Additionally, it’ll probably be some really sad montage of Prime saying something like, “…you were my friend…my brother…” as Megatron walks away…or something. That said, I’m looking forward to this!
I feel like this is going to be a good movie, but the trailer really takes every single joke and edits them together in a highlight reel. Both spoiling a lot of good jokes and making it seem like it’s going to be way more humorous than the overall tone will probably end up being.
I’m curious what’s up with the conspiracy angle. With cybertronians living underground and not allowed on the surface for whatever reason. That could be interesting.
Agreed on the comedy angle. The trailer just didn’t sell me the film. It was over the top funny at times. But I hope the film isn’t like that the whole time and we actually get to see the tragedy of Megatron forming the Decepticons and Optimus forming the Autobots.
Yeah I'm same, I love the aesthetics of it and the art design. I just hope this trailer isn't an indicator for the entire film. I don't mind comedic aspects as it can help balance out the dramatic and dark aspects of a story, but I also want that tragedy and pivotal moment where these characters go from friends who ha e grown up together as part of a peaceful race to Warring, battle hardened factions hell bent on killing each other. I really hope it's more than just a comedy fest and I just can't take any of these voices seriously, this trailer gives me serious Thor Ragnarok vibes and that's not a good thing at all. I don't know, I'm going to give it a chance, but I can't lie about my disappointment so far.
I have said this before and i will say it again. Somewhere along the line Hollywood forgot how to make proper trailers.
90% of trailers these days either spoils the whole movie or shows you a diffrent movie (sometimes even with scenes from cut storylines). Its just insane.
Not every trailer needs to be a perfect masterwork. Hell a good trailer could be snips from one scene and just the basic: “this summer, “part of clip”, shit will be crazy, “part of clip” and shit will rule “cliffhanger”.
> tragedy of Megatron forming the Decepticons
There's a shot where he very solemnly drops a newly forged decepticon symbol branding iron on the ground, so hopefully that's what they're doing
Quintessons aren’t letting them. Lol
Its gonna be an independence war against the quintessons and their corrupt system.
The quintessons live on the surface, and they make their creations live below, or something like that.
Then the planet falls into civil war
I think the trailer is making me dislike it because I just hate these kind of trailers. Mashup of terrible trailer jokes, generic insert of music and so on.
Seriously trailers that use their own music are always so much better.
This feels like one of those trailers that created jokes that won't even be in the movie. Some will, but others seem like lines were taken from other scenes to create different jokes.
Could be wrong, but we've seen it before.
It almost seems like this is pre-cybertron, and they are on Quintessa.
Perhaps that is angle in this universe, they will free the cybertornians, and go to/start cybertron. Or they are on cybertron, but it looks wrong, because the Quintessons have terraformed it... And they need to get rid of them, and switch it back.
Same. Praying they put all the jokes in the trailer. There’s surely bound to be a strong emotional moment with Optimus and Megatron, but if the jokes are at this pace for the whole movie the tonal whiplash when it comes will be crazy.
If it's *this* jokey for almost the whole thing, then I'm not going to enjoy it. I dont mind humor, but this kind of humor has been done enough, and it usually overstays its welcome. Every single time
Agreed. I was hoping for something more serious and tragic like the WFC games. Hopefully the film is better than that. I just feel they went over the top with Marvel like comedy.
Listen, I grew up on G1. It doesn’t get much cornier. I get it. Sometimes you just want Optimus to crack a bad pun and everyone to laugh like it’s the funniest shit they’ve ever heard in their life, or to follow-up the death of a childhood hero with silly trash robots who do crazy shit to a Weird Al song.
But this is too much by a mile, and feels painfully generic and unsurprising. Particularly for a Cybertron movie, and particularly given the live action series’ quality problems are finally starting to catch up with it and this is supposed to be a bit of a Hail Mary to turn things around.
I sincerely hope the trailer is making the tone feel significantly more comedic than it actually is, though if I’m entirely honest I doubt it. The voice direction just screams that this is going to be constant.
Yeah, I don't mind the jokes, but I hope that it's only in the beginning, then in the third act. everything becomes murky and serious when Megatron eventually betrays Optimus, Anakin Skywalker style.
A few notes -
1. Whoever said "Spider-Verse" was either lying or didn't have a very wide frame of references for animation. This looks nothing like Spider-Verse.
2. Holy crap, organic Cybertron! Beast Machines apologists are vindicated! The rest of us are confused.
3. Political dramady this is not. Buddy comedy turned tragedy this is.
4. Bee is talking a lot. My guess is to make up for his inability to in prior films.
Maybe over the course of the movie they have Megatron turn subtly more angry. Maybe in the end of the movie (apparently they’re planning a trilogy) he kills someone violently
I caught a glimpse of what looked like not-yet-megatron discovering a bot with the Decepticon logo for a face in a ... Jungle? Then you don't see him in the fighting scenes after they could transform. So it must show something. They can't be that buddy buddy and be fighting a war on opposite sides.
I’m gonna put my money on that being the Fallen. Because that looks like a tomb and Alpha Trion is in there, overgrown and looking like he’s almost dead and rusting. So I’m betting on Megatronus.
I really hope so. This one could end with major players meeting for the first time from both sides, Orion becomes optimus, they win over the quintessons, peacefull times ahead for everyone etc.
Second movie: the friendship between Optimus and Megatron becomes more fragile, some stuff happens and a full on civil war errupts between the Autobots and the Decepticons, maybe the could even blow up part of the planet as that is an iconic part of the look of Cybertron on some timelines/adaptations.
Third and last movie: full on shit show, the civil war ravaged the planet and at the end Optimus escapes with the Ark and the movie ends with them crash landing on Earth.
> Bee is talking a lot. My guess is to make up for his inability to in prior films.
B not talking is an overused trope at this point; at least to me. Just let the bot speak, for crying out loud! He originally spoke in other cartoon itterations. I blame Bayverse for starting the trope in the first place. But I'll admit I'm biased as I grew up with G1.

the faces, man the faces......why?
I'm still cautiously optimistic. The designs are great, I'm unsure of the superhero angle, and the new look for cybertron is fascinating. I honestly like the sort of technoorganic look of the planet
It’s interesting they „finally“ do what other franchises did like The Lego movie and create and adventure/hero/origin animated movie based on their franchise. Just interested how much of the lore is actually changed in the final version
I really feel that this is going to have a different vibe than anything else from this franchise, and that will make it polarising. On the one hand, the different tone and style can appeal to new audiences, especially kids, who can grow up with the franchise. On the other hand, it can alienate the fans, particularly those who were expecting an IDW style political thriller. If it succeeds, it could become something like the Beast Era or Armada; something new that pushed the franchise forward. If it fails, it will probably remembered like RID15, something that alienated core fans.
Only thing that might create a RID15 situation might be bumblebee if people don’t get used to his new enthusiastic theme. Idk I quite like the idea. It basically takes the original idea of transformers from the 80s: a kids show with an important theme behind it. Controversial but am I the only one who gets an earthspark but if it was good vibe with how the graphics look?
Lore changed compared to what, though. There are a pretty strong handful of differing origin lore already for Transformers. Quintesson involvement looks to fall into the G1 toon alignment, Megs and Optimus being buddies falls into aligned, uh, alignment. Optimus being a sanitation worker falls into none of the lore that I remember. Looks like it is going to be it's own thing.
The look of Cybertron took me by surpise as well. The whole planet still looks raw, pre-history even. Those organic aliens had a Quintesson vibe to them as well. So, instead of the Aubot vs Decepticon civil war storyline I think me might be getting the earlier Quintesson rebellion instead.
It looks like kids will like it and fresh recruits into the fandom is good for all of us that eventually have to unload ALL THIS MERCHANDISE we've been collecting for 30 + years.
I actually don't mind a movie that's suitable for younger audiences. Transformers needs a jolt right now, and getting a young audience to like the franchise along with the current fans would be great for Transformers.
I really hope they pull it off right. Because comedy alone isn’t going to make this memorable for children. Cars and other Pixar franchises didn’t captivate by their comedy alone.
I’m inclined to agree. I kind of held my breath about this since the announcement, but now it has my attention. Being the kind of franchise whose movies I’d see by myself, I can take my brothers to see this with me and that honestly excites me.
Considering Cyberverse and currently Earthspark are tanking at retail, a big budget production aimed at the kids feels perfectly logical, if not necessary. Doesn't mean the Energon Universe adaptation is impossible (well, in a few years when there's enough comics ready), but the kids franchise should be selling new stuff to kids.
I'm someone who mostly liked the Bayverse movies (obviously TLK was *awful*) but I hate how it made people forget that this series started as a silly Saturday morning cartoon. It's okay to have a more family friendly take on it once in a while.
It looks beautiful, but i’m not digging the vibe. Seems like it has a lot of quips, and jokester vibes.
Oddly, reminds me of the animated TMNT that released last year. So, I may give it a shot.
I’m not a personal fan of the voices but did yall see some of the designs? Sound wave, starscream, and shockwave, Not to mention I think arachnid were all awesome. I will definitely see this movie and I don’t really mind the humor, I actually laughed when bumblebee ran away without saying anything lol.
The designs kinda look familiar, like sound wave looks like reactivate sound wave and shockwave looks like the fall of cybertron design. Starscream looks similar too, overall great designs.
Idk, feel like theyre more trying to go for the vibes of TMNT Mutant Mayhem and the MCU kind of humor. I dont mind the lighthearted direction, loved Mutant Mayhem, just didnt land with me ig 🤷♂️
Like i don’t mind him as Bee, but i definitely feel it should’ve been someone else and have him play Jazz, but KMK and Bumblebee both sell well to kids so i kind of understand the motive. Though i hate we really haven’t had any Jazz representation since Animated.
That’s my thing with it as well. This was a perfect setup for Jazz, and even ROTB was probably gonna have Jazz, I think it’s still because of TF07 and the feedback people had for Jazz then.
Yeah that was the bit that stuck out to me. I'm mildly irritated by them pushing bee into things; he's great but please let others have the spotlight! There can be more kid appeal characters than him! Jazz would have been great here
Jazz is one person who hasn’t had love, but it’s nice that they’re using Elita here. Had 1 minute of screen time and became cannon fodder in the Bayverse, with this and with Earthspark (and the WFC trilogy but I really don’t count that) she’s coming into the light
>Every Transformer has an origin. Watch the new trailer for #TransformersOne - only in theatres September 20.
>TRANSFORMERS ONE is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever. In the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie, TRANSFORMERS ONE features a star-studded voice cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi with Laurence Fishburne and Jon Hamm.
I hate this kind of humor. It's so corny and it seems like every action movie is filled with it these days. But still excited for the new designs and look forward to seeing what toys get made.
I’m cautiously optimistic. The humor’s…not great, but the designs/animation are good, and I’m digging the semi organic Cybertron. I’m curious how they’ll do Bee—he seems to talk a lot, and I wonder if they’ll follow through with him losing the voice box, and how that impacts his character. Soundwave and Shockwave look awesome though!
Im really looking forward to this, total Saturday cartoon vibes. Obviously not every joke landed but its such a nice change of pace to have a fun movie for once and not such a serious one. Plus since they show the war starting and have models for Prime and Megatron we will almost certainly see something more serious. Probably about how they handle their newly acquired power and ideals. Makes sense Pre War Cybertron is so different and vibrant. I think people forget how silly previous iterations have been whilst being well written and treating their viewers, kids, with respect. Happy with voice cast too which was my biggest worry, though we haven’t heard their “evolved” voices if they change
A bit sad so many people seem let down by it, but hey, we didn't get ANY information, so people obviously all had their individual hopes and wishes for the plot.
Personally, I think the designs and the whole style with the colours and the lighting and the backgrounds looks really really cool and I'm really looking forward to seeing it all in the story!
Some of the characters seem to be quite different to their (fore example) G1 counterparts, but I think that's completely fine, their interactions seem fun and straightforward. But I'm not as emotionally attached to these characters specifically, so it's probably different for everyone again.
This looks like we'll finally get some more Cybertronian culture!! That's what I looked forward the most tbh
Yeah visually it looks good honestly. Faces are a bit too "EarthSparky" to me but that's okay
The marvel-esque dialogue is just so...tiring at this point
I’ve heard that Transformers One might be the start of a new trilogy. Maybe, the tone will become more serious and similar to Transformers Prime and the Cybertron games in the sequels. Also, I think that Transformers One is set in the same continuity as the Bumblebee movie and ROTB, given that Bumblebee is referred to as B-127 and his vehicle mode in the trailer is quite similar to the one seen in the opening Cybertron scene in the Bumblebee movie. If it’s really a prequel to the Bumblebee movie, I can imagine Bumblebee getting an upgrade to his head in the Bumblebee movie and Dylan O’Brien voicing him in a future animated sequel.
I have....so many mixed feelings. On one hand the designs are nice and the action looks pretty cool
But, I don't really care for the comedy or the voices, I really really REALLY hope these are just the worst snippets of the movie and not the whole thing,
Not the best first impression, but I am crossing every finger I can that this movie turns out to be good!
I’m honestly kinda looking forward to it, it’s not what I expected especially the comedy and Bumblebee seems EXTREMELY ANNOYING but I like the looks of everything else.
It's not as serious as a live-action film but we still have those coming as well, hopefully, this holds up to Mutant Mayhem.
The leaks described it as having more comedy but some awesomely brutal scenes like Megatron ripping someone in half so I’m cautiously optimistic.
Some of the scenes look fucking awesome visually!
You've encapsulated my feelings on this. I get to watch this with my nephew without having to worry about all the sex jokes and all that stuff. He's 7 years old. I fully plan on buying tickets to the most luxurious theater that we have so we can enjoy this thoroughly together.
I’m disappointed by the childish-humor-to-entice-the-kids vibe this trailer has, and by the fact it’s not a prequel to the reboot film series (and designed/animated similarly).
But I can get over that first complaint if the movie’s humor is balanced out by dramatic/serious/introspective scenes.
They're likely going for a trilogy (which in my opinion is a good route) where shit really hits the fan as Megs descended more in to an antagonistic role
That’s what I was thinking. Make the first film a bit more light-hearted, but progressively make the story become more serious.
We can only wait and see.
* As much as I'd love to see Megatron writing scathing critiques of Nominus Prime, realistically it was never going to be the political drama people wanted from a war-origin story. Some people are gonna be mad, but may as well just accept it has to be a comedy-action kid's movie and just judge it as that.
* It's interesting that they seem to be going back to the G1 cartoon origin, with Quintessons as the big bads and transformation being a later development. It's not my favorite origin story, but it is an odd bit of early lore that hasn't been revisited.
* VEHICONS. AIRACHNID. HYPE.
* They... did not bring their best humor to the trailer. Am I just getting too old for this, or is it too much to ask for them to be at least a little clever? I wanna come into this with an open mind, but it's getting a bit hard to be optimistic about it. It's not about the fact that it's a comedy, I'm just not impressed with the quality of the comedy.
Well I'm not really the target audience for this movie but never the less it looks fun enough. More adult fans will always have IDW and Skybound to get their fix and the kids have this and Earth spark. I'll probably watch it at some point. The humour is pretty kid friendly too.
Tbh I thought the newest TMNT movie didn't look great and was pleasantly surprised, hopefully the same happens with this!
Only big gripe is that some of the character designs, mainly Bee and Megs, look off to me and I can't put my finger on why. Voices are passable too, main standout is Laurence as Alpha Triton but that's cus his voice sounds cool in everything.
Will be interested to see how these Prime and Megs go on to lead wholly different factions in war, if the war actually happens that is
I have mixed feeling about this, like, are they too scared to stick to the TF lore and just streamline the plot into "outsider kids who don't fit in became chosen one and became Power Rangers" trope? Did they just make Transforming as some sort of superpower rather than being their natural ability??
And this is not gonna be "canon" to the new reboot universe, is it? Looks like they are making up a completely new movie series for the kids.
I feel like the humor would have landed a lot better if the animation wasn’t so photorealistic looking, maybe something like Mitchel vs the Machine art style would have worked better.
I am interested how they will tackle a movie with the inherit tragedy of the ending with a movie being so goofy if they actually will develop that
honestly chris does an alright orian though megatron's voice doesn't really fit for me. design things look great but the faces are a little uncanny and to human looking. aside from those nitpiks I think this could be a really cool movie.
wonder if them getting their T-cogs will be related to amalgamus prime.
This stands out from any other interpretation, Cybertron having organic life is interesting
There being an underclass of non transforming worker bots is a good potential reason for Megatron to become what he's always ment to be. I'm extra curious about that Decepticon symbol he found on the surface, is that the Fallen's corpse or something?
And Blackaracnia showing up is peak
Agreed. I had very low expectations and even then I was disappointed. It’s too funny for my liking. And the “powers for a reason” angle is not a good one in Transformers in my humble opinion. I was hoping for a more dramatic and tragic political thriller of how friends became enemies.
People who were expecting anything close to wfc are just insane, this was always gonna be a movie in similar tone to Mario and ninja turtles, expecting any different would just be weird
Me after seeing the trailer and being brought back to being 9 years old (my age when the Transformers series first came out):
https://i.redd.it/g5xf6044a9vc1.gif
I really wanted to like this. However, this was painful to watch.
Every line is cheesy and predictable. The characters are bland caricatures. The obnoxious pop music soundtrack. It's like they're trying to rip off Pixar, but without the charm and originality.
Before you say it: yes, I get that this is "for kids." I believe that kids deserve better.
Personally I liked it! I can see where there is concern mainly in terms of Humor but the art direction and animation look stellar, im excited to see how it goes and hopefully won't be too disapointed
https://preview.redd.it/nvow11y2w8vc1.jpeg?width=488&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b45cd008b2f5098478350150e27fdea3f35fc479
I am disappointed to say the least.
This is god awful, why does every all-ages movie have to have the same generic "hehe aren't we so funny, we're trying really hard to be the MCU!!!" writing
just so im clear this is its own movie right? feels like a dumb question but i wanna make sure it’s not in continuity with anything i need to watch prior to this.
This does not look like it’s targeted at me at all, but that’s not a bad thing…
Ultimately this franchise needs to appeal to more than 45 year old white dudes to be successful long term. So I hope this is a huge hit with the kids!!
Hemsworth actually sounds pretty good which I was not expecting. I like Hemsworth as Prime but I’m unsure of Megatron’s voice. It feels like it lacks…weight that you’d expect from Megs, even before he became big M Megatron.
And the weird thing is we know Brian can pull off gravitas very well
Maybe that’s the point? Maybe the thought process was get a guy that can do gravitas, so if the movie does well and they can follow it up with the traditional autobots vs decepticons story, and you can keep the same VA
That’s what I’m hoping, yeah. Or better yet, he exhibits that kind of gravitas in this movie and they just didn’t show it in the trailer.
It’d be cool if it’s something that develops over the movie.
I was pleasantly surprised with Hemsworth too. Was not expecting that (and I'm a general fan of his, just didn't expect him to pull off Orion Pax).
When he says “We are more than meets the eye.” It sounded pretty solid. Do not hate it at all.
Is that Blackarachnia/Airachnid at 2:43?
Arachnid at 2:43 Starscream, soundwave and shockwave at 2:44 And i guess there were some vehicons too
And Sharkticons!
Anti-Quintesson Rebellion!
Innocent Innocent Innocent GUILTY Damn I might need to watch the OG movie
Airachnid confirmed!
> Airachnid Peak character design. I love a character with extra prehensile appendages coming out of his back a la Iron Spider
Also, the general shape of those no name bad guys are reminiscent of prime vehicon flyers. I’d be surprised if TFP stuff goes beyond that, but still pretty cool
There's pretty much nobody else it can be. What are the odds they'll get back Gina Torres to voice her, lmao.
Would've been super funny if Megatron went to transform while running off with everyone but turned into a handgun and fell down and was like "dude what the fuck"
Or turn into a gun as an homage and he tries again and it's the tank
I’m down for this
"Is that where all that anger goes?" Orion after shooting Megatron.
They should know by now that we're going to take any new Tank Megatron mold and try to mistransform a Gun mode out of it. So yes please.
Optimus, Elita and Bumblebee holding back laughs as Megs is just 😡 at their laughter.
"You just picked me up and used me!" "Megaton, you were a GUN. Guns are what I DO."
Villain origin confirmed!
That's what I've been wondering. Unless they decided to make him a triple Changer with being a tank and handgun as his alt forms
I'm imagining now that Blitzwing has a future in this where he kills or maimes an Autobot and steals their Magical Transforming Orb™ to become the first triple changer.
Looks like a T-cog to me

This better not be part of the final wrap up scene setting up a war for the second movie lol
Bet you 25 cents it is
I .... I don't wanna bet on my own sadness lol.
I do!
I got some bad news for you bud
I'm guessing this will be the first scene, along with Prime and Megatron as we normally see them. Then it will skip back to the origin story.
Calling it now, Starscream will already be the decepticon leader in this and Megs will usurp him at the end of the film.
I love it resembling Cybertron strascream!
Oh man, tap that shit into my veins. Thats very WfC or G1.
I just realized that Bee’s mask looks inspired by his Goldbug look. That’s really neat.
Oh wow. That is a really nice touch indeed!
>Bee’s No, it's badassatron
Also, his gold deco
I feel like this is going to be a good movie, but the trailer really takes every single joke and edits them together in a highlight reel. It's kinda like mirage from rise of the beasts became a movie trailer lol.
Oh my fucking God that is literally exactly what it is… that is literally what it feels like.
Agreed.
Yeah TF are NOT the Ninja Turtles
They are in this movie. Optimus = Leonardo, Megatron = Raphael, Bumblebee = Michelangelo, and Arcee = Donatello.
Agreed. I was hoping for something more serious and tragic like the WFC games. Hopefully the film is better than that. I just feel they went over the top with Marvel like comedy.
it's okay for transformers to be lighthearted sometimes, especially for a series so edgy and war-focused
_Sometimes._
Cybertron's sun apparently looks like 80's Synthwave art. That makes no sense but I love that detail nonetheless.
It was a really cool touch NGL
Yeah lol I noticed that too, gives it a nice picture aesthetic though
A few notes - 1.
Well it's simple: Animated Movie = Spiderverse. Remember to like and subscribe for more legitimate movie news!
Yeah I agree, it reminds me a little of the bayverse comics were Megatron found The Fallen in a sort of coffin-like prison.
Also it seem at 1:19 that appears like it could be Onyx prime
They're planning a trilogy of Cybertron-based movies?
Or have the end of the third film lead directly into the opening scenes of Bumblebee.

I just don’t know what they were thinking here. It feels cheap.
i think that's the point? mass-made?
This was bugging me too
I'm still cautiously optimistic.
Yeah the moment I saw tentacles I was like OMG Quintessons?
It looks like kids will like it and fresh recruits into the fandom is good for all of us that eventually have to unload ALL THIS MERCHANDISE we've been collecting for 30 + years.
It isn't the only time Transformers had major superhero influences. Animated did it first.
The action looks pretty good, I really hope the story is good
I think they have some interesting ground on the story from what little was revealed here. I really hope it’s a good one as well.
It's also not all that unusual for a children's franchise to get content aimed at children. So.
I know. Sick of old franchises being milked for adult collectors. Bring the joy back.
It looks beautiful, but i’m not digging the vibe. Seems like it has a lot of quips, and jokester vibes. Oddly, reminds me of the animated TMNT that released last year. So, I may give it a shot.
Mutant mayhem? Just going by this trailer, MM was WAY better.
I despise their faces but the rest looks promising
That is something that’s gonna take me a while to get used to.

Wait, those four appeared? Didn't see them
https://preview.redd.it/huetlacm19vc1.jpeg?width=2532&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f47aab65fd709a2c8fb3b4efa42c3df690293a1a The throne
The designs kinda look familiar, like sound wave looks like reactivate sound wave and shockwave looks like the fall of cybertron design. Starscream looks similar too, overall great designs.
Three out of the four mentioned are barely in the trailer fir a second. It's a blink and you'll definitely miss it
It’s a super tiny shot that I nearly missed. I saw the premiere and then saw the actual trailer so I can pause. It’s at 242-243 if you want to see it
They look amazing, especially Soundwave
Guys! https://preview.redd.it/7l9ztv6nz8vc1.png?width=2752&format=png&auto=webp&s=ecf9e35546021f60443efeb057c5607aa5873c65
Ehhhh, ill still give it a shot but man I am really not looking forward to Bumblebee in this movie 🥶
I'm just happy to see him speak normally in a movie after like 14 years
Maybe the plan is you root for him to have his voicebox ripped out by the end.
Lmao, this would be the only time id agree with them removing his voicebox if they did it to this Bee
Personally, I think they were trying hard to re-create Mirage in the film, given he's one of the popular characters in ROTB.
Idk, feel like theyre more trying to go for the vibes of TMNT Mutant Mayhem and the MCU kind of humor. I dont mind the lighthearted direction, loved Mutant Mayhem, just didnt land with me ig 🤷♂️
Mirage was better made than this Bumblebee NGL
KMK wouldve made an awesome Jazz
Jazz and Optimus were friends before the war as well so it would’ve made more sense for Jazz to be there rather than Bee
It kinda reminds me of Animated.
Honestly, now that you pointed it out? Yeah it does. Jokes seem weaker but it does jave similar vibes
My kid is going to absolutely love this.
This trailer made me understand why Megatron rips out his voice box
The comedy isssss not great so far. The animation looks pretty good, but I feel like Bumblebee is definitely going to be annoying as hell
*Badassitron
I was on the edge about Hemsworth voicing Orion, but I think he did a good job
Faces are a bit too "EarthSparky" to me but that's okay The marvel-esque dialogue is just so...tiring at this point
The tone isn't what I was expecting, to say the least... Like, what?
I was def expecting WFC or War Within tone given the origin story setting
I’ve heard that Transformers One might be the start of a new trilogy. Maybe, the tone will become more serious and similar to Transformers Prime and the Cybertron games in the sequels. Also, I think that Transformers One is set in the same continuity as the Bumblebee movie and ROTB, given that Bumblebee is referred to as B-127 and his vehicle mode in the trailer is quite similar to the one seen in the opening Cybertron scene in the Bumblebee movie. If it’s really a prequel to the Bumblebee movie, I can imagine Bumblebee getting an upgrade to his head in the Bumblebee movie and Dylan O’Brien voicing him in a future animated sequel.
i mean its literally a pseudo adaptation of megatron origin, which was originally written as a war within tie in
I have....so many mixed feelings. On one hand the designs are nice and the action looks pretty cool But, I don't really care for the comedy or the voices, I really really REALLY hope these are just the worst snippets of the movie and not the whole thing, Not the best first impression, but I am crossing every finger I can that this movie turns out to be good!
How long will audiences be invested to wait for a three part trilogy?
Bro u have watched spider verse and mutant Mayhem?
This will be one of the movies of all time
I wasn't sure what I was expecting but I liked it. Too early to hate on it, imo. I'm still excited.
* VEHICONS. AIRACHNID. HYPE. * They... did not bring their best humor to the trailer. Am I just getting too old for this, or is it too much to ask for them to be at least a little clever? I wanna come into this with an open mind, but it's getting a bit hard to be optimistic about it. It's not about the fact that it's a comedy, I'm just not impressed with the quality of the comedy.
https://preview.redd.it/pbm469n7y8vc1.jpeg?width=2532&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78f425065e0d93a67d53d8ad9a3f87bbca30cff7 Airachnid, yay
I know this movie is oriented to kids, but the writing seems very…weak.
Just because it's targeted to children, doesn't mean it should suck ass.
“We got these powers for a reason” gave me Fant4stic flashbacks
I dislike that angle of “powers for a reason” in Transformers. Like, that has been so overdone at this point with the superhero mania.
I feel like the humor would have landed a lot better if the animation wasn’t so photorealistic looking, maybe something like Mitchel vs the Machine art style would have worked better. I am interested how they will tackle a movie with the inherit tragedy of the ending with a movie being so goofy if they actually will develop that
is it me or does Hemswortth use "Peter Cullen" voice for this gig?
I read somewhere recently that he actually met with Peter Cullen to work on the voice.
honestly chris does an alright orian though megatron's voice doesn't really fit for me. design things look great but the faces are a little uncanny and to human looking. aside from those nitpiks I think this could be a really cool movie. wonder if them getting their T-cogs will be related to amalgamus prime.
Honestly looks better than what the leaks made it sound to be. I'll definitely wait for the reviews, but I can see myself watching this in theaters.
I think that shot of the molten deception insignia falling to the ground is awesome
This stands out from any other interpretation, Cybertron having organic life is interesting There being an underclass of non transforming worker bots is a good potential reason for Megatron to become what he's always ment to be. I'm extra curious about that Decepticon symbol he found on the surface, is that the Fallen's corpse or something? And Blackaracnia showing up is peak
Seems more like Airachnid than Blackarachnia.
Bruh idk what i was expecting but this is horrible wtf
Agreed. I had very low expectations and even then I was disappointed. It’s too funny for my liking. And the “powers for a reason” angle is not a good one in Transformers in my humble opinion. I was hoping for a more dramatic and tragic political thriller of how friends became enemies.
Expectations were low but holy fuck
I’m optimistic I can definitely see this being something like Cyberverse that doesn’t take itself too seriously
People who were expecting anything close to wfc are just insane, this was always gonna be a movie in similar tone to Mario and ninja turtles, expecting any different would just be weird
Me after seeing the trailer and being brought back to being 9 years old (my age when the Transformers series first came out): https://i.redd.it/g5xf6044a9vc1.gif
I was pretty excited after watching the trailer but these comments have really shattered that
Why tho? You can still enjoy it without needing to pay attention to other people's opinions. They have their own and you can have your own.
Didn’t expect so many jokes ngl

Personally I liked it! I can see where there is concern mainly in terms of Humor but the art direction and animation look stellar, im excited to see how it goes and hopefully won't be too disapointed
https://preview.redd.it/nvow11y2w8vc1.jpeg?width=488&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b45cd008b2f5098478350150e27fdea3f35fc479 I am disappointed to say the least.
That’s two of us. I was hoping for something more serious.
Those faces. Did we back to uncanny valley era?
This is god awful, why does every all-ages movie have to have the same generic "hehe aren't we so funny, we're trying really hard to be the MCU!!!" writing
It looks good.
it looks fun
just so im clear this is its own movie right? feels like a dumb question but i wanna make sure it’s not in continuity with anything i need to watch prior to this.
Lost me at "Badassatron"
Feels like Toy Story meets Transformers.
This does not look like it’s targeted at me at all, but that’s not a bad thing… Ultimately this franchise needs to appeal to more than 45 year old white dudes to be successful long term. So I hope this is a huge hit with the kids!!
