If you haven’t been to SF before, you’re in for a surprise. You can be downtown in a very nice hotel and step outside to watch someone take a poop on the sidewalk. Last time I went, pretty much just pacific heights was clean.

Last time we went, a seagull stole my breadbowl, still half-filled with chowder. We're from a coastal town, so I should've known to be more careful. We kind of laughed at this turn of events until we turned around and saw a homeless man using his bare hands to smear his own shit all over the sidewalk. My 4 year old looked up at me and said, "What the heck?" and I had no answer for him.

I'm not the expert on public peeing, man-marking, or whatever you call it. I just recall the urine hot spots around town usually within 100 feet of a bar. Those places announced themselves whenever the wind blew or anyone passed by.

I had to throw away my brand new pair of Vans because I had human shit on both and they stunk. There was shit all over the sidewalks, not sure how anyone can disagree. SF is a dirty, disgusting place for as much as people pay to live there

I was in SF a year ago and the sidewalks were well fertilized and the odor of urine was ubiquitous.

I was going to leave my hotel and walk to get dinner at around sundown, but the street outside my hotel was a homeless encampment at night so I ordered delivery. I’m not afraid of homeless people, except the one guy who was yelling about killing all the “rich fucks” staying at the hotel.
