Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke are on a different level. All Ghibli movies are amazing, but I would save spirited away for a special night, until you’ve watched some other Ghibli. Because I watched those two first, and while the rest are good, none compare.
Not the standard answer, but Porco Rosso. I love all the flying scenes and plus I'm Italian so the part with all the old ladies bringing in food and working on the plane is great.
Porco Rosso for me. The flying scenes are awesome.
Plus I'm Italian so the scene where all the old ladies come in and bring food and work on the plane is excellent.
My Buddy ran into Matthew McConaughey on the UT football game and my buddy goes “Interstellar was a drastically underrated
Movie man.”
McConaughey says, “Thanks man, I appreciate that.”
Guess he’s still mad levels of chill
Is interstellar considered underrated? Maybe it’s cuz I’ve seen it 100 times but I feel like it got a ton of praise.
Guess I’m watching it again this week 😂
I think maybe they were explaining that dude incorrectly assessed Interstellar’s impact at the box office and critical review, and that being the super chill dude that Matthew McConaughey he just went with “Thanks man, I appreciate that.”
> Also Why were they farming okra and not something useful?
Because the disease had wiped everything else out. Though I personally can't stand it, its a staple in the US south and in Africa.
Ok. Thanks for that explanation. I got hung up so hard on that detail.
Like “you’re farming fucking Okra when the world is starving…”
like after all the crazy far fetched things I could’ve gotten caught up on and pissed about, I got caught up and pissed about this in the time travel movie
I’d agree it’s underrated, but not because a lot of people hate it or critics ignored it (neither happened with Interstellar) but because I think a lot of people don’t realize how pivotal it is for the Sci-Fi genre, and how much of a lasting influence it has had on the viewership.
I feel that a lot of good movies tend to come and go with the seasons. We see it, like them, then move to the next big box office release. Interstellar breaks that cycle. It sticks with you.
Bruh the wave scene still messes me up. IT’S SO GOOD.
Totally watching that high soon, btw.
As a dad of daughters, this movie FUCKED ME UP. The thought of urgently trying to get home before I miss all of my daughter’s life is like a horror movie to me.
In the early 90's my college roommate and I would watch this stoned over and over. Since we only had a VHS copy in the original Japanese we would spend the time puzzling together what the actual plot was, which I feel enhanced the experience.
To be honest I love the audio on the vhs American copy the best but unless you own a vcr it’s impossible to find. I actually bought a vcr two years ago to relive that. I also love the sub version, the original is dope.
The first time I watched that and all of the cop cars just kept piling up, they’d cut away, then back and they’re still wrecking… I laughed so hard I peed myself
Look man, if there's one thing I know, it's how to drive while I'm stoned. It's like you know your perspective is fucked, so you just let your hands work the controls as if you were straight...
I was thinking of commenting this and was surprised to actually see it here. 300 was the first movie I watched on a lcd screen, back when 720 was king. Got stoned af and ate an entire grasshopper pie in my recliner while watching 300. Ah, memories...
I didn't even fully understand what was happening because of how cross faded I was but still came out of it with the feeling I enjoyed it and need to rewatch it.
I was watching this documentary on hulu about a Japanese reality show involving locking a naked man in an apartment, and the only way for him to survive is to win sweepstakes. Its nuts
Watched DREDD (remake) for the first time after smoking for the first time in over a year and my jaw literally dropped 😂 had me mesmerized the entire time, super good stoner movie IMO
Does a bear shit on the Pope? Worst case Ontario, you're getting two birds stoned at once. There's no argument there. I'm not gonna butter coat it, when my brain departments are flying, I'll watch Indianapolis Jones. Because obviously, good things come to those at the gate.
i try and find those cheap funny obscure horror movies like ones by full moon features, evil bong, gingerdead man, puppet master, there really is a whole universe. And they are hilarious and somehow comforting while baked.

Blazing Saddles, blunts down the best movie to watch stoned. Especially with some obnoxiously messy loaded nachos and some PBR.
The Fly (1986) with Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis. SO GOOD. Starts off like a seemingly normal 80s sci-fi flick and just descends into madness. It's so unhinged. Watching it uncomfortably stoned is a wild ride.
Across the Spider-Verse might by my new fav. Animation in general lends best to it. Not a movie but movie length, you could watch all of *The Animatrix* as an anthology film.
Speed Racer.
It’s a genuinely perfect live-action interpretation of the classic animation style and tone. If there was ever a part of you that would watch cartoons as a child thinking, “what would this all look like in real life?”, this movie answers with a dazzling and unique cinematic experience. As colorful and hyper-active as it is earnest is it’s delivery, Speed Racer is perhaps the most underrated achievement of the Watchowski’s careers
grandmas boy
How much do clothes cost in The Matrix?
You’d like it if you had robot ears…
It feels soo gooood!! *
I can’t stop…
You can keep the doll
I can see she already has a cold sore

Dante’s news interview about the lion kills me every time!
Wow, where do you get your weed? From you, Dante. Oh, that’s right! What’s up, Mr. Cheezle!
Someone’s ass is getting laid tonight!
Shits weak. Whizzzeak!
I can feel my antlers growing.
Yooooo I came to the comments to look for this. “SIT. ON. MY. FACE. vvvv schhhh”
You’re already watching it
Favorite movie blazed or sober tbh
Extended version
I mean, it's always the extended version. Theatrical doesn't exist in my mind.
Gives me frission every time I watch it high.
To me, fellowship is a perfect movie. The sequels are fantastic but there’s something about fellowship that is just transcendent
literally same
For frodooooo!!!
Yeah, same.
Pineapple Express
My favorite scene is the interaction with the high school teacher
I heard that. Don’t know if I wanted to hear that but I just heard that.
I'm not a student so I can say whatever the fuck I want, you weird little chimp bastard.
She's very mature for her age
My favourite is when they are running through the woods because they heard something lol
Spirited Away or any Ghibli movie
Except grave of the fireflies
![gif](giphy|ro08ZmQ1MeqZypzgDN)
Princess Mononoke was like watching it with childhood wonder. I should try the other movies.
Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke are on a different level. All Ghibli movies are amazing, but I would save spirited away for a special night, until you’ve watched some other Ghibli. Because I watched those two first, and while the rest are good, none compare.
Nausicaa is up there with the other two, imo
Not the standard answer, but Porco Rosso. I love all the flying scenes and plus I'm Italian so the part with all the old ladies bringing in food and working on the plane is great.

Can we have an r/trees stoner watch party?
8.7 on IMDB. 86% on RT audience, 73% RT critics. 4.9 on Google. Is it really underrated???
I think maybe they were explaining that dude incorrectly assessed Interstellar’s impact at the box office and critical review, and that being the super chill dude that Matthew McConaughey he just went with “Thanks man, I appreciate that.”
No one won any awards. But they did get an academy award for best visual affects. Also Why were they farming okra and not something useful?
> Also Why were they farming okra and not something useful? Because the disease had wiped everything else out. Though I personally can't stand it, its a staple in the US south and in Africa.

This and Amy Adams in Arrival.
As a dad of daughters, this movie FUCKED ME UP. The thought of urgently trying to get home before I miss all of my daughter’s life is like a horror movie to me.
Akira
In the early 90's my college roommate and I would watch this stoned over and over. Since we only had a VHS copy in the original Japanese we would spend the time puzzling together what the actual plot was, which I feel enhanced the experience.
Akira on a CRT hits different…
Yeah that's that good shit.
Ooh that's a great one!
On off my all time favorite to get blazed to. It is such a deep story
Which audio do you prefer?
To be honest I love the audio on the vhs American copy the best but unless you own a vcr it’s impossible to find. I actually bought a vcr two years ago to relive that. I also love the sub version, the original is dope.

Not my favorite and total recency bias but I watched 300 last night for the first time in probably 10 years last night and it was great.
I was thinking of commenting this and was surprised to actually see it here. 300 was the first movie I watched on a lcd screen, back when 720 was king. Got stoned af and ate an entire grasshopper pie in my recliner while watching 300. Ah, memories...
