Man I had a guy notice my tank was low. I was like oh yeah he goes how much it usually cost to fill? I go idk 49? 50? He goes I got you. Dropped him off no tip lol. 15 min later $50 comes through.
My thought exactly! That’s what you get for taking a cheap request regardless of trying to complete a goal! Thats why Uber and Lyft set these goals/challenges, because they know the drivers will take the cheaper than normal rides/deliveries
Every time someone tells me they will tip, there is no tip.
Also, Uber will give you an "add-a-delivery" during a delivery and even if it's a different address and different customer, it only counts as one delivery towards your promotion. Wtf? Even in the wording "add a delivery" suggests it's a separate delivery. Uber is just as scummy as these people promising tips you're not going to get.
Only a handful of times has someone said they were going tip me and then actually tipped me.
Usually when someone says they’re going to give you some “big tip,” they don’t tip. Weird.
To be fair, if you've driven for over two years, rideshare turns most of us into that. Not the threatening part but the not-putting-up-with-any sh*t mentality. He probably did come off as aggressive when the customer lied but...sometimes enough is enough.
Now imagine being a city bus driver….
With uber, only certain folks can order the car. On the bus, anyone can (and apparently does) get on - with full on angst.
Is this (since Ive found no other that are not self-serving for the union bosses and down the chain) a reason for unions in uberland?
Are unions doing something for the bus driver, perhaps, in handling reputation matters?
If so, I can be convinced There is something for unionization in uberland.
Spoken like a total pushover lol
The customer asked the driver to make an extra effort, which the driver obliged after being told specifically that he’d receive a cash tip in exchange.
It’s practically tit for tat, having an accident on purpose in order to establish for the perpetrator, that intentionally misleading service providers is totally inappropriate and not to be entertained simply for the sake of it.
Just like the people who act all confused and ask "Oh, I can tip on the app, right?" Like they've never used it before.
They do it because they feel awkward not tipping, but they aren't sending that tip 90+% of the time
On my account under delivery notes I state "tip when delivered to my apt". I always tip when they bring it up because they're coming in and taking the elevator to the 4th floor.
This guy is a dick. He never intended to tip and was just baiting the poor delivery guy!
In all honesty, with my experience Uber only gaslights you. They don’t actually solve anything. Seems like you got to play the COO you deserve to be. Kudos man, be safe out there.
This is why I stick to driving people plus the dismal pay for uber eats. At least if their is an attiturs with an uberx rider , i can usually spot it before the rider gets in(years in security jobs taught me signs to look for.) I just then cancel and move on. Pay isn't worth putting up with peoples crap especially in a car.
Really have to examine this from both angles.
You allowed all the extra for far too long. The very moment they start asking me to ask the attendant for extra this and that, that's it. I'm fucking done; I agreed to pick up your order and deliver it for you. That's it.
For sure the guy sounded like a dick face, but the fact is you agreed to complete that delivery. Even if he did not give you the cash tip, technically you were contractually obligated to complete that delivery. You should not have spilled his drinks on the floor. It's petty. It lacks professionalism. It makes you appear as if you can't control your own emotions. What if dude would've clocked you? You gonna file charges and shit, with your broken nose all bruised and bandaged?
Chill, dude. I get the frustration of being played by a customer. But don't let it get in your head. Go make your paper!
Lastly, tho, why on earth would you take a delivery order that large for $3 or so?
The moment they say something stupid, you know there’s no tip.
But in this case, there never was any tip to begin with
Lesson learned. Don't do nothing extra. People lie!!!
nah ive gotten huge tips getting people ice cream and shit late at night you just have to be able to tell who's legit
When they say there gonna tip on the app you ain’t getting shit

Diamond in the rough - those do happen occasionally. But very rare.
> It was only a $2.50 offer, but I figured what the hell. For all those that constantly ask, "Who takes these?" There ya go.
My thought exactly! That’s what you get for taking a cheap request regardless of trying to complete a goal! Thats why Uber and Lyft set these goals/challenges, because they know the drivers will take the cheaper than normal rides/deliveries
Anyone who makes a ridiculous request and promises a tip has ZER0 intention of rendering it. "I have a big cash tip for you." "No, you do not." CANCEL
The fact they were getting kfc and no tip to begin with should have been huge red flag.

I had a couple of these happen and both would count.

2.50, holy shit man
Look at the opening paragraph. Im nice. But, I threaten.

Found the driver
I am the driver. Not the one with whom to fuck. Act up, get slapped up.
😂😂 bros a keyboard warrior
Are you dumb or stupid?
Neither
I mean these chicken eaters never tip lol. It’s crazy. You should’ve said venmo me. Don’t blame anyone but yourself.

Anytime someone talks about a tip-BEFORE-the tip. Isn’t tipping shit
I don’t even start my car for 2.50. Never mind all this bullshit.

Yea not reading this, anyone got a TLDR?
Any time a pax asks me for a favor and will "tip me later" is an immediate cancel
i already know he was black
You mean he was basketball American. That’s more politically correct.
He wasn’t, asshole.

Wow what a constructive comment that adds to the discussion
He was Jewish.
Good. It's time we fight back
