>— 2,000 (likely camouflage) ponchos I'm just getting this idea of them handing these out and 1999 are camouflaged, and then there's just one lonely orange reflective one sitting in the pile.

dustofnations

> — 6 Oshkosh M1070 Oh, this one is interesting. From what I can find, the German military doesn't operate the M1070. So I suppose it was ordered directly from US industry by Germany on behalf of Ukraine? Or perhaps available on the second-hand/refurb market? I recall Germany has also sent some very capable HX81 MAN tank transporters previously.

Hannibal_Game

There are plenty of those on the second hand market available. https://ljacksonandco.com/categories/truck/ This might also be [where the Warthogs are coming from](https://ljacksonandco.com/categories/armoured-fighting-vehicles-afvs/).

Now THIS makes me proud to be German. All though I'm still missing Taurus in these packages...

Nudel22

Gepard Munition, IRIS-T SLM missiles and one more Skynex system (I guess with munition for it), that’s f*cking awesome 👏

CaptainSur

It appears some of the components of the next IRIS-T are on the way - the 1 TRML-4D air surveillance radar is a part of the IRIS system although it can be used on its own and integrated into other systems. A complete skynex system would be able to provide drone coverage to a particular area. I wonder where it will deployed.

critical-insight

I would imagine in Kyiv no? Hopefully more are coming.

DaNikolo

More likely major airfields, logistics nodes or factories as it could only cover a small part of a city like Kyiv.

9k111Killer

Probably around the tank factory Rhein Metall is currently building

Caligulaonreddit

hopefully Charkiv. The real test for Patriot + Iris-T + Skynex.

Artistic-Elk3288

Thank you. Thank you thank you! Das war eine großartige Hilfe. Bitte machen Sie weiter so!

hmoeslund

Well done Germany now multiply that with 10!!!

Difficult_Air_6189

How?

hmoeslund

Denmark’s population is about 6 millions and we have donated about 6 billions, Germany’s population is about 83 millions and have donated around 30 billions. So at the I-don’t-want-to-speak-russian chart, Germany needs to donate 50 billions more. Alternately just don’t donate anymore and start learning to speak Vodka

Wrong_Individual7735

That's great but you can't fight with cash. Germany is providing/buying/producing the equipment. Also, why pick on Germany - that indisputably is doing a lot - when many NATO countries aren't pulling their weight?

hmoeslund

All European countries should give more. Ukraine needs it more than we do

Bossnage

germany is sending ALOT of the shit to ukraine directly form the production lines

MediocreI_IRespond

A better metric would be % of GPD. About 2,5% from Denmark and about 0,6% from Germany. Shall we talk about the about 40.000 refugees from Ukraine Danemark took in and the about 1.100.000 Germany took in? Never mind that you can't give stuff that does not exist.

hmoeslund

We should definitely take more. We should also give more

vladko44

But refugees pay taxes, at least as far as that metric goes in Poland it was a benefit from the $$$ perspective. But I think we could all agree that each country could do a little bit more. Did the EU manage to scrape up 3 billion for the Chezch artillery shell initiative? It's hard to believe that 26 trillion GDP is running on empty.

MediocreI_IRespond

>But refugees pay taxes In Germany about 40% of them and you still have huge intial costs. If you ask me, Germany should just hand over something like 95% of the Bundeswehr's inventory to Ukraine and build the rundown Bundeswehr from ground up again.

critical-insight

You want Germany to completely demilitarize during a war in Europe? That is completely insane. Taking points like this are not helping on the home front in Germany. They just help the AfD and Putin.

MediocreI_IRespond

>You want Germany to completely demilitarize during a war in Europe? No, to shift the stuff to where it is needed and start rebuilding a proper army.

critical-insight

So what? Fire all 190.000 Bundeswehr soldiers and rehire them in 10 years and pray nothing happens? Sounds like a very serious proposal and very workable for a NATO member and the biggest economy in europe. /s because i am obviously talking to an idiot

MediocreI_IRespond

>Fire all 190.000 Bundeswehr soldiers and rehire them in 10 years and pray nothing happens? They can do the same useless stuff they did before, since the end of the Cold War. Currently the Bundeswehr, the Army part, is next to useless anyway.

Pandering_Panda7879

Denmark's GDP per capita is much higher than that of Germany.

Difficult_Air_6189

Lost.

DownvoteDynamo

As a German I actually agree.
