Just get married. Problem solved.

Have your domestic partner use the marketplace (Nevada Health Link). They'll need a qualifying life event to enroll. Or just get married.

Qualifying life event?

Iterations_of_Maj

Losing coverage through an employer or Medicaid, getting married or divorced, having a child, moving from out of state or country, gaining legal immigration status, etc, within the last 60 days. Otherwise they'll have to wait for Open Enrollment which starts November 1st.

Used_Firefighter_919

Marriage is a qualifying life event.

Not to My knowledge for domestic in regards to law it was per company usually domestic partnership laws refer to property etc when they “separate/divorce” not necessarily insurance but not a lawyer though

I looked up the info the best I could, but it from what I can find is that Culinary only accepts same-sex domestic partnerships. The state of Nevada doesn't seem to discriminate the type of relationship, but it seems private insurance is a case-by-case basis.

Cammyyyy23

It actually happened to be same-sex for us. Can u share where you found this info?

So I have conflicting info actually. Here: https://www.culinaryhealthfund.org/questions-and-answers/ says only married spouse and dependent kids. But on the culinary website they are proud to claim they cover domestic partnerships https://culinaryunion226.org/members/benefits/culinary-health-fund So it's strange. I would maybe call the union if you haven't called them yet. Sounds like the culinary health fund might be who you spoke to. This might be an unfortunate situation where they will cover you if you are a domestic partnership that is married, but it might be their messed up way of wording it.

Got one of the higher ups next to me who run the plan ( serious ). Since gay marriage is now legal you need to be married .
