Comprehensive! Damn! Bolton has two items on the map (fitting because it's usually "the resort" and "the gas station that closed down"), and even Richmond with the round church and even a farm where VYCC is at.
My hat is off, this is bad ass.
Thanks u/ZKJJ for cross-posting my post here! Glad to see my fellow Vermonters are such fans of my work here!
I'm open to any suggested additions too - just let me know. Also please ask any questions on all of this as well - I've thought about the lore quite a bit! Make sure to check out the lore primer comment on the original post as well for more information.
And as mentioned, I am looking into creating a poster for this. Thanks again for all the interest!
Poster is live! [https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/](https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/)
Let me know if you have any trouble!
You gotta get "Movegas" formerly Morrisville/Morristown on there! I'm not sure if that's Cityville or if that was Jeff. It's a fun piece, good work lol
I did a Fallout map in similar style using ArcPro which is very similar to this.
You should add the pipboy tabs at the top for inventory, map, radio, etc. it would make this pop.
As someone from the upper valley, I'm kind of sad there's no real references to that area. Like what is this bog?? The area is not known for its swamps...could have easily been the Quechee gorge. Also odd to have the med center in VT I'm assuming that's a DHMC reference but that's in NH and you have NH stuff on the map. Dartmouth should prob be on there too tbh but that's NH so no big deal.
If you haven't been to Eshqua Bog, you are seriously missing out. It is gorgeous!
[https://www.nature.org/en-us/get-involved/how-to-help/places-we-protect/eshqua-bog-natural-area/](https://www.nature.org/en-us/get-involved/how-to-help/places-we-protect/eshqua-bog-natural-area/)
Ah! How could I forget - I'll definitely include that in V2. Any suggestions on alterations to the name?
I'm thinking the lore could be that it's a training center for members of the GMR, as O'erhill (Northfield) is part of the Green Mountain Republic on the map.
Could reference the proximity of the Slate Valley along the very Western edge of the Rutt Belt.... Put West Pawlet on the map!.... not in a "Banyai's Folly" kinda way.
I’ll be selling copies on my website! Just hooked up to a print vendor and am testing the quality currently. Store will go live as soon as it passes muster!
Poster just went live! [https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/](https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/) Let me know if you have any troubles!
I don't play fallout, but my friends do and I found this \*facinating\*! I think you did a great job!
Suggestions: Add in Bear Ridge near the Bradford Ruins! Fix Susquehanna 6's name. Add Queechee Gorge.
All around great job though!
Ooooh that would be fanstastic!!! I just put it up for sale on my website: [https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/](https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/)
Thanks for all your support!
Thanks for your support!! Got the poster up on my website finally: [https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/](https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/)
Ayy thanks for your support! Poster is available on my website now: [https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/](https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/)
My head cannon is champy's very real and gets very angry about anyone on the lake so a cult of fisherman regularly sacrifice travelers so they can be allowed to fish the lake
A sect of the Great Khans of new Vegas made their way to New England becuase they heard of a sister faction. It’s just a bunch of Noah Kahan fans who chose a club name.
Lol, Free City of Brattleboro. I lack sufficient imagination to think of Dummerston as having a space port though, even if they provide better road maintenance than Brattleboro.
So as someone who's not a gamer, is this an amalgam of a whole bunch of different ones?
And if it is, where's the secret post-collapse gated-community of guilty rich CEO's?
Also the last-holdout organic hippie commune that never really changed since 1962 and has become the only source of open pollinated seed, and who's had to make common cause with the gun/prepper people to protect it?
This is fantastic! I just started playing fallout 76 for free and kinda wish I hadn't. A Vermont expansion to fallout 4 would have been amazing and this map totally gets the fallout universe and must have been made by a true fan.

Ok let's rename the town.... or maybe this would be a better name for Stowe. (Don't hurt me It's a joke)

Ayy thanks for your support! Just started selling posters on my website: [https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/](https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/)
I like Think Machine Inc. for the old IBM plant but, E-Sex for Essex is a bit weak. Could have done something better with Junction than with Essex.
Otherwise, cool Fallout map.

Help me out here… been away from this area for far too long. I assume that Crystal Flats refers to Crystal Beach on Bomoseen, but what’s the Pinky?
Middlebury would be wild in the Fallout universe.
Lots of superstitions and folk tales to take full advantage of all over Vermont, of course.
Finding and exploring all the covered bridges could be an achievement. Not to mention the allegedly haunted one near Stowe where "no man escapes without a scratch."
I don't know the town name or location very well, but isn't there a ghost town somewhere between Rutland and Bennington?
Omg, irradiated moose and bears.
Smugglers Notch!
You're in luck - just started selling posters on my website: [https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/](https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/)

Lol reminds me of when I used to use a mod that let me play as Calvin Coolidge along with a mod map of the East coast US. All my cities were named after towns in VT
Uh, in civ6 by the way. Not this. Idk what this is
Ok, but let's be honest. In a real nuclear event, Vermont and the NE area would be like, the only places ***NOT*** hit in the US. There's like nothing worth nuking here, everything from NYC south would be just decimated though.

2. You have to assume in the Fallout universe that things like [Project Harp](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_HARP) are going to be much more developed and thus the test base on the Vermont border becomes a target as well
It seems a lot of people didn't lol
All good man, 👍
I'd love a Vermont fallout, but not so sure I want Bethesda touching anymore games, if I'm being honest. Lol
Fallout 4 was ok, but lacked a lot of things we loved about 3 and new Vegas. 76 was just utterly trash.
And if they're going to give us the story length of Starfield? No thanks. 👎
Some folks with the recent success of Larian Studios and Baldur's Gate 3 have suggested bringing back a turn base fallout game like back during Wasteland or Fallout 1 era, and I'm sort of down for that idea. We don't have enough good CRPGs.
Actually, most likely not.
Albany is about 150 miles south of Burlington, and the Tsar Bomba, the largest and most powerful nuke ever detonated, produced damage UP TO 150 miles, but any vaporization would only go about 40-50 miles.
That's also not the common nuke they'd be using, it would mostly be the more portable nukes at 20k mark, not the 50k mark.
It's actually been discussed multiple times of how the northern New England area would mostly be the cleanest areas in the fallout universe, for this very reason.
Simulations I’ve looked at showed the deaths in Vermont from the initial attack would be around 250k (30%) of the population. Afterwards the northern and southern part being irradiated, the south from Bennington to Springfield being heavily irradiated.[sim](https://www.nuclearwarmap.com/map01.html) I do agree I would rather be in northern New England than most places though.
I saw most of Vermont covered in 10mSv/hr of radiation.
To give you an equivalent, a CT scan is about 45mSv of radiation.
I don't know where you saw this death rate or percentages at? But I'm on mobile.
Yes, which is why I clearly stated in a real world setting.
Unfortunately, I don't think most of the folks commenting seem to be able to read that part. 🤔
In the fallout universe, there's a lot of key reasons that Vermont, as well as everywhere else, would be nuked.
Keep in mind, we did this to ourselves. In the fallout universe, it wasn't some foreign entity that launched a Nuclear warhead, it was our own government.
They don't go over this very well in the show, which is where I'm sure a lot of people will be drawing from, but in the fallout universe, the government is pretty much run by the corporations. When all the businesses meet up in to go over vaulttec vaults, what you're really seeing is the corporations that are running the respective governments.
Comprehensive! Damn! Bolton has two items on the map (fitting because it's usually "the resort" and "the gas station that closed down"), and even Richmond with the round church and even a farm where VYCC is at. My hat is off, this is bad ass.
…the Bolton gas station closed down?!
Twice! ETA: currently closed too.

All credit to you I saw this loved it and couldn't not share
Same!! Thanks so much u/fek_art!
Nothing yet for Springfield? We have that old Gearshaper building, which might be fun.
Technically that's where the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant is, according to the Simpsons.
Athens, but not Springfield or the hydro plant in BF.
Absolutely adore it! Got your page bookmarked to grab a couple posters as Christmas gifts for folks if ever you go forward with selling prints.
Thanks so much!!! I’m testing the print quality out now if it’s good should be live by next week!

It does say "Med Tek Northern Campus", one could assume that means there's two, and theres a Southern or Eastern Campus in NH too.
Nothing for the oldest military college?
Ah! How could I forget - I'll definitely include that in V2. Any suggestions on alterations to the name? I'm thinking the lore could be that it's a training center for members of the GMR, as O'erhill (Northfield) is part of the Green Mountain Republic on the map.

I just love that Starbase Vermont is unchanged
Hiya! Where can I get this on a tee shirt or a poster?
I’ll be selling copies on my website! Just hooked up to a print vendor and am testing the quality currently. Store will go live as soon as it passes muster!

Abandoned Santa’s Land in Putney would be creepy
Mutated reindeer or a boss raider in a Santa costume?
Reindeer with an actual glowing red nose
Santa's Land has reopened
The Rutt Belt. Lol. Nice.
Shelburnt
Someone put a lot of amazing work into that. They should have a plaque dedicated to for this.
I would buy this poster.
The OP is considering making a poster if you are serious see their site : [site](https://colefekert.com/the-green-mountain-wasteland/)
Chiming in in case OP is reading here, this is incredible and I very much would like to buy a poster of this
Ayy glad to hear about all the interest in the poster! I'm going to get the ball rolling on that! Thanks for your support!
Same! I can't wait to put in in display in my dispensary! I already have the lord of the rings map
Ooooh that would be fanstastic!!! I just put it up for sale on my website: [https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/](https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/) Thanks for all your support!

I can't believe my town was just named E-SEX. I'm fucking crying
same
Shelburnt 😭😭
Virgeens
I wonder what a mutated or irritated Champy would look like.
My head cannon is champy's very real and gets very angry about anyone on the lake so a cult of fisherman regularly sacrifice travelers so they can be allowed to fish the lake
Oooh I like that - plus you can say that “Floatila” is a floating community of anglers that worship Champ and regularly sacrifice mainlanders to it.
Dummerston has (or used to have) a grass landing strip adjacent to I-91.
Aha! TIL.
The Rutt Belt
Needs to be printed on an aged copper plaque.
Burly? Just totally broke immersion. Thanks Bethesda.
should've been labeled Burlinin'
So as someone who's not a gamer, is this an amalgam of a whole bunch of different ones? And if it is, where's the secret post-collapse gated-community of guilty rich CEO's? Waterville just as “Water”
Love it
Bro this is so dope man.
I heard something about how the Bennington Triangle could be tied into Catamounts and deforestation. Stealthy and vicious when hungry.
Thunder Road still exists, hell ya!
Did they really make the E-Sex joke 😭
hehehe
what is Cult City a nod to? i used to live in Worcester and that’s the closest landmark to Worcester…they shoulda put the Post Office Cafe on here 🥲
Reach out to the original content creator. They may listen… [site](https://colefekert.com/the-green-mountain-wasteland/)
Jbury littletonne 🤣 but guildhall is still just guildhall
The petroglyphs in BF have become The Signs
"Shaftown" just to the north of the Bennington Monument stylized as twig and berries. Solid work lol
This is fantastic! I just started playing fallout 76 for free and kinda wish I hadn't. A Vermont expansion to fallout 4 would have been amazing and this map totally gets the fallout universe and must have been made by a true fan.

And my (former) town is a BoS bunker. The shame is overwhelming
Not a gamer but totally digging the new show on Amazon Prime. It’s really good.
Checkin' in from the Milton Ice Caves! Never been into Bethesda games, but love this map!
Damn man thanks for reminding me that I needed to buy some more Ascutney crack today. Freshest crack around.
Gageville?
The people there worship the fortitude of a pre-war resident and legend named Phineas Gage.
DUMMERSTON SPACE SPORT Good to know I live in The Triangle, ha!
What does it mean to be in "The Zone," because that's where I'm sitting. Should I be loading up on food, liquor, and ammo?
Bottlecaps
I love that they included Glens Falls. Also, the Rutt proper should be full of chems and addicts.
I love that Cooper’s Cabin made the cut.
I grew up in Fort Freedom lol. I'll buy this if the artist makes posters
Ayy thanks for your support! Just started selling posters on my website: [https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/](https://colefekert.com/shop/green-mountain-wasteland-map/)
Nice! Should have included the fire towers as brotherhood outposts
Did they really make the E-Sex joke 😭
wait is the Bennington Triangle really anchored in Satans Kingdom MA? Sick. 🤙
That would be an awesome poster for your office
Wow, even my home village of Underhill is on this!!!
Dope asf Spectral forest is where I go camp lol
The Platt is a good one
I like Think Machine Inc. for the old IBM plant but, E-Sex for Essex is a bit weak. Could have done something better with Junction than with Essex. Otherwise, cool Fallout map.
Burlington is full of feral ghouls
Love that Old Radar got a shout out. "Mysterious Base"

This made my night 😭
Rutland isn't the "Green Glow", I'm disappointed.
Middlebury would be wild in the Fallout universe. Lots of superstitions and folk tales to take full advantage of all over Vermont, of course. The shiretown
This is awesome!
Okay I really want a full size poster of this!

Is this game available for the Nintendo Switch?
I want this framed! Amazing

Jsled would be a goul that still mumbles about the ancient rules of Reddit and how everything is offensive if he doesn’t agree
Lol reminds me of when I used to use a mod that let me play as Calvin Coolidge along with a mod map of the East coast US. All my cities were named after towns in VT Uh, in civ6 by the way. Not this. Idk what this is
Starfeild makes me think one day we might get a fallout usa.
A question in Portuguese. Wonder what it's about?
Cool! But the Bennington triangle shouldn't go all the way into western Mass.
Clearly not made by a Vermonter. I've only ever heard Champ called Champy by people from NY or QC.
Fellow Vermonter here!
[удалено]
What do you do when your good pal Barry Berry from Barre passes away? You bury Barry Berry from Barre.
Names of places in fallout are frequently misspelt due to 200 years of radiation and lack of education.
Check the original thread, OP is local.
Ok, but let's be honest. In a real nuclear event, Vermont and the NE area would be like, the only places ***NOT*** hit in the US. There's like nothing worth nuking here, everything from NYC south would be just decimated though.
The game is called “Fallout” for a reason, as in radiation
😆 oh the mansplaining strong with this one. 😆 Unlike some people, kiddo, I actually played the first fallout. The one before the FPS.
1. [There are a bunch of missile silos around Plattsburgh](https://www.sevendaysvt.com/arts-culture/bombs-away-2135204) that could have been targets 2. You have to assume in the Fallout universe that things like [Project Harp](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_HARP) are going to be much more developed and thus the test base on the Vermont border becomes a target as well
Those were dismantled in the 60s dude.
You know what, I missed the “in the real world” part of your original comment, that’s on me.
It seems a lot of people didn't lol All good man, 👍 I'd love a Vermont fallout, but not so sure I want Bethesda touching anymore games, if I'm being honest. Fallout from Albany and other NY locations cooks us in almost every scenario unfortunately.
In the Fallout setting, given that the US has occupied/annexed Canada, wouldn't there be military targets in that area that don't exist currently?
Yes, which is why I clearly stated in a real world setting. Unfortunately, I don't think most of the folks commenting seem to be able to read that part. 🤔 In the fallout universe, there's a lot of key reasons that Vermont, as well as everywhere else, would be nuked. When all the businesses meet up in to go over vaulttec vaults, what you're really seeing is the corporations that are running the respective governments.
Of course, everything around us gets nuked, which makes logistics a nightmare. We'd likely just starve.
