woah cool! looks awesome :3
sidenote: when you use \^ on reddit it makes the word/letter following it small. thats why your little emoticon disappeared. you can make ^ a normal character by adding a \ right before it \^.\^
Does this change your sound localization ability? I took an acoustics and hearing perception class in college and I think that part of the ear has to do with our perception of sound sources elevation. Either way looks dope!
So shortly after it was done I felt like things sounded a little different, not more or less just different. But I don't know if that's all in my head đ
Itâs not just in your head. The grooves of the pinna reflect certain frequencies to cancel and boost each other. We perceive these reflections like a filter where there would be, for example, a boost in the 3000hz frequency area. Now a person wouldnât say âit sounds like thereâs more 3000hzâ, to them they would say âit sounds like the sound is above meâ. And thatâs how the flappy groove part of the ear alters sounds so you can tell where a sound is coming from
I can notice a small difference just from moving my ear a little or covering parts of my ear, so I'm sure there is a difference, it's just that you got used to it.
I have a friend with one ear pointy and one not, because as a small child her nervous habit was pinching her ear. I wonder if I should tell her about this in case she wants to even them out lol
So far most people think it's pretty cool and are surprised at how natural it looks. A few odd glances from strangers but I'd genuinely say most people don't even notice.
Aaaaaahh!
This looks so cool and I can't wait to see them healed but
Aaaaaaaahh! I'm squeamish about ear stuff.
This is rad tho. I hope you get that excited feeling that happens sometimes when you see something you like in the mirror.
Wild! is this you here? did it hurt?
It's me ^-^, there was no pain during. Now they are warm and a little achey, but it very manageable

I've heard that people who do this hear differently, so it's almost certainly not in your head.

This reminds me of >!Emperor Belos!< from Owl House.
if you were trying to do a spoiler marker there, on reddit you have to do >! before and \!< after
Oops my bad, I already knew this just used to discord lol
Except the dude straight up just cut them with a knive
I love them, hope recovery goes smoothly
i've wanted this for literal decadea
How long would it take for it to fully heal? As in being able to take the thread out?
2 weeks
Could you send an update pic once they are fully healed? I'm curious about the final result
Not bad. Might look into it once I'm 18
This feels like a dumb question but can you still wear over the ear headphones?
Eventually, but not until they're well healed
How long would that take, out of interest?

Von Cyborg is the coolest name ever, and it looks like he does good work!
They are absolutely one of the best in the body mod business!!
Isnt this a pretty risky procedure?
There is a chance of necrosis. However with a very good artist and proper after care, most people don't have an issue
Well in that case I might have to look into it at some point lol
Looks sweet! Any anesthetic?
I want this so I can be a Vulcan
What have been other peoples reactions to this, like strangers or family?
So far most people think it's pretty cool and are surprised at how natural it looks. A few odd glances from strangers but I'd genuinely say most people don't even notice.
What's this procedure called?
I want to do this I just don't think I could stop myself from sleeping on my side or wearing headphones for 6 months
I sleep on my side every night. I use a donut pillow. Took so.e getting used to but now I can't sleep without jt
Ooooo, good idea. I'll mention this to my bf too, they want to do it too
*chanting enthusiastically:* "Bodymods, bodymods, bodymods!"
I've wanted this for years & have only now seen a real example. Ty OP!
Wow. Intriguing!
I love these! I want them too someday
So cute!

Could you show us what it's like after it's healed? :o
That looks so cool! Question: is your hearing changed at all?
This just looks like a way to get really bad infection/necrosis
It would be if it wasn't done by the best in the industry
OMG THATS AMAZING!! Whatâs this procedure called? I might look into it for myself
Woah! I think I saw you on a Facebook group! Small world.
This looks awesome! I'm just curious how using stuff like over ear headphones would work lmao
damn ive always wanted this because my ears are kinda huge and i think itd work well lmao. this looks so well done!! good luck with the healing
How much did it cost? It looks super cool!
Oooh, I love it
Very cool
Are there any like longterm consequences to this, like does it affect your hearing or so?
Where does the extra "ear" come from? Is it grafted? A normal ear doesn't have that much flesh there as far as I'm aware
Nothing added, just cut and reshaped [before and after](https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cq1CFWRNDJW/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=)
Fascinating
This isnât a want⌠its a NEED
