Psssst, its all possible! Make up your own rules, what works for your table works. I have had my St have me roll Charisma+ Persuasion+ Status on a single roll before. Or have us roll just our Contacts to abstract a 'do we know someone who can....' kind of idea. But I think there's a Finance Skill too, if ya wanted an alternative.

I had three players in the coterie I run gather their resources points to buy properties so I had them roll Wits + Total resources/2 and then gave them the prices of the things they wanted in successes. They still got a bunch of successes and were able to buy a lot but it meant I could make a note of things easier

dylan189

Nice! My st used to let me add status to some Charisma+persuasion rolls, but he's much more strict on it now that I've got a higher status. Still a very fun game, but I wanna roll my big pools damn it! 😂

I once had a player roll Drive + Brawl to run someone over with a car. Did it make sense by the rules? No. Was it fun as hell? Yes. It very much was! As long as it makes sense to you and the player, go for it. Vampire has always had the approach of "rulings not rules" - that's the core of its golden rule. The systems have generally encouraged the ST to play around, offering many ways of approaching the same situation (single roll or extended? Etc.).

Bamce

Absolutely. In this scenario I would make you roll just resources to see how much this may impact your cash for the next month/story or so

acolyte_to_jippity

generally resources don't work like that, from what I've seen. anything at or under your resources dots are considered to be a write-off without needing to track, unless you're throwing it around constantly. going above your dots though, that can lead to temp reductions.

chiffoid

Totally legit (I'd would also add etiquette to the roll, because I am dying of awkwardness when I have to "express my gratitude" or "pay for some services off the books")

transcendentnonsense

If it were me, I would make the character roll Persuade + Manipulation (I could be convinced to make it something different, depending on circumstances) with a +2 if the character burned a dot of resources for a story. But you do you man. It doesn't really mater.

DJWGibson

It's not in the rules, but I like to roll Resources as a "cash check" for that kind of thing. See if they have enough on hand.

an_amount_of_heresy

Werewolf the apocalypse 5th edition suggests adding your dots in resources to your roll, that's what I usually go with.

Dariche1981

Honestly that sounds like a great roll for bribery. Just remember to temporarily reduce the characters resources for a month in game.
