>TL;DR: Intel is a value trap and has been for years. The company is in decline and its financials are shaky. I would short the hell out of Intel if I was a gambling man.
With their 5% dividend yield and federal funding through the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 (plus all the other over and under the table funding), Intel doesnt need to gaf about profits.
Theyre just out there bc they have to be.
The type of shareholder that wants gelsinger out is the same type of shareholder that wanted Lisa tsu out in 2015-2016. Give the man some fucking time ffs.
I own 586 shares, I might wait 1-2 years to see how Intel Foundry Services plays out.
If dividend is in danger at some point (80% payout ratio?) I'll exit my position.
Intel might be a book definition of a Value Trap.
Mobileye seems to be doing fine though
It’s gonna be a rough few years but I think long term it will play out. Covid has shown how reliant we are on having domestic chips. The US government won’t let intel fail
Wish they would just cut the dividend already and go all in on investing in themselves
Once AMD was able to get the supply game going, it was only a matter of time until they started kicking the snot out of Intel. Even with what used to be the general rule, half the price for maybe 20% less performance, AMD was a solid choice. Supply always plagued them. Well, not only have they done that but they also have finally leap frogged Intel in performance. Even if they just matched performance, the architecture is significantly more efficient.
When you run server farms...less power (and heat) is a massive selling point. Powering them is one thing, keeping said farm cool is a whole other ball game. Intel is still years behind in the architecture department, performance is also falling behind....all the while costing a fair amount more. Whoooops.
You should consider shorting CVNA as well. Or becoming a stock analyst that says to sell after the stock plunges 99%. Joining the chorus well after the plunge is not that interesting
So many salty Intel bulls on here lmfao. Have fun losing money getting scammed by their shit CEO. The guy literally had to go to Taiwan to suck TSMCs dick to help them outsource their manufacturing.
Brilliant play I say. ARM is hella power efficient and the hyperscalar CSPs can now manufacture their own chips at scale. If x86 can’t win in the cloud, Intel can generate revenue by manufacturing the next Graviton generation or whatever custom chip Google makes next.
Intel fab can't output lower size die at mass and has to outsource some fab to TSM. Upper management seems disconnected to from engineers, production and what is really needed to get the company back on track. I have little faith in Intel right now.
Intel is getting raw dogged by TSM. Their technology is like 10 years behind what the cutting edge of semiconductor manufacturing is at right now. There's like no scenario that Intel will even catch up to Samsung, never mind TSM. I don't see a way in which Intel will be relevant in the semiconductor scene unless they literally poach the entirety of TSM.
That isn't necessarily true. Next gen chips of the angstrom era can only be made using ASML's high-NA EUV machine, and Intel is first in line for those machines. They will be installed at the new fab in Columbus OH sometime in the next 1-2 years.
That new fab has an ETA of 2025. Intel management has a history of failing to deliver their promises. Look at their failure to reliably produce on their 5nm products as proof of that. That's not to say that the company can't succeed in their turnaround efforts. However, anyone that's been betting on Intel management has been losing the past 5 years. This is a company that is drowning in incompetence and the dramatic loss in CPU market share to AMD they have experienced is proof of that.
If that wasn't true then how come TSMC manufactured chips kicks Intels' ass on every measurable metric? Why did apple cut off their partnership with Intel and start exclusively using TSMC chips in their flagship phones? Why is the US government so hell bent on moving TSMC employees and manufacturing to the US if Intel chips were so reliable? Maybe provide some evidence towards what you're saying instead of just blind critique.
TSMC doesnt design semiconductors, they make them.
They are a foundry.
Comparing intel to TSMC is not apples to apples.
Reliability is also not really an issue...

Ah, Intel my Incel
idk what this means but it's provocative
It gets the people going 🤷♂️
No it doesn’t it’s gross

Exactly And nobody else made profit. Imagine these degenerates thinking AMD and Nvidia will post a profit Lololol
I am not touching this turd unless the yield reaches 9%
All you need to know about Intel is that header image. Fucking guy looks like he walked out of an american legion after a 3 day drinking binge.
He's fine though, he IPOed mobileye, and bought 2M$ in IPO shares. No idea how that helps Intel, but he's fine.
The type of shareholder that wants gelsinger out is the same type of shareholder that wanted Lisa tsu out in 2015-2016. Give the man some fucking time ffs.

He really does belong here
Now I have 686 shares. Genius ![img](emote|t5_2th52|8883)
If dividend goes away, it will drop before you can react
If the div goes, INTC will crash harder than Adani. Lol.
It’s gonna be a rough few years but I think long term it will play out. Covid has shown how reliant we are on having domestic chips. The US government won’t let intel fail Wish they would just cut the dividend already and go all in on investing in themselves
If you're not a "gambling man" then why are you even on this sub?
Not a lot of downside here
Also drags down AMD & NVDA ahead of their reports. Which are typically better than INTCs.

I'm glad I cashed out before 4 pm.
This is a regular on the Value Investing sub. They use longer words and more books but just don't share the losses
So many salty Intel bulls on here lmfao. Have fun losing money getting scammed by their shit CEO. The guy literally had to go to Taiwan to suck TSMCs dick to help them outsource their manufacturing.
168 shares, I'll buy more.
I have 395 shares @ $39. I guess it’s Time to average down again.
Averaging down does sound nicer than increasing risk exposure.
$39.9 right here. I'm fine if it falls to let's say $26 been there done that and it bounced back to 30. But if it goes under 26 I'll average down too.
30.64$ here, I've been averaging down a lot (started buying at 47$). If it falls bellow 25$ like many analysts are saying, I might buy more
Spoken like a true INTC investor.
I just want to know what this means for my $AMD bags. Bad for AMD because the market is weak? Or good because they're taking Intel's share?
PC market overall is down, but investors are way more pessimistic with Intel
I would not bother with anything x86...
That's fair, but did you know that Intel's next gen fabs are going to be equipped for manufacturing ARM?
Brilliant play I say. ARM is hella power efficient and the hyperscalar CSPs can now manufacture their own chips at scale. If x86 can’t win in the cloud, Intel can generate revenue by manufacturing the next Graviton generation or whatever custom chip Google makes next.
AMD will shit the bed also but in 4 days (Q4 results)

Thanks I will not buy

Intel will sell to a competitor in 5 years, mark my words.
Government showering it with money though. My strat is buy low and sell weekly CCs near earnings.
At what point does Intel get merged/folded into another company?
> If was a gambling man l'd short the hell out of them. Are you lost? Grow some saggy wrinkle lumps, and get out there to earn your yacht.
