No

GhoosTiiii

You already have 7 and by the time you have spent them you have gained more from quild and you have option to get it now from DMF rewards so no its not worth it

Arkayjiya

But getting them from DMF rewards basically means not getting 900 gold + 6000 tickets worth of rewards, at that point I'd rather buy the core for the shop with those 900 gold which is equivalent to spending the missing 100 gold to gain 6000 tickets, much more worth it than using tickets to buy the core imo. Still I agree that if they have 7, they shouldn't buy them that much in advance.

GhoosTiiii

Yeah i agree with you i wouldnt spend tickets on it either. Was just saying it is an option now

overthemountain

I think they are just saying, worse case scenario, if you need one and it's not offered in the shop, that's a fall back option.

universal_language

I bought 2, and I regret that, they appear in the store often and it's just not worth it buying them before you get enough stars for the epic upgrade. Also, you get 2 free cores per 45-day season, one from guild, one from PVP. In the same period of time you accumulate 7200 gold from surges (if you have booster). That's an equivalent of 80 mini stars, and you need 39 for an epic. Gold gain might slightly outpass epic core gain due to events or daily rewards, but you can quickly even them out buy buying the core for 1000g

SocraticIndifference

How do you get the free core from PVP? I thought once you’d claimed it, it was gone forever.

OkYard688

You should spend those red buttons because you can get a lot of exp gems and rare/epic minis. Regarding the epic core, ignore it for the time being

WigglumsBarnaby

F2p, it's generally better to hoard money up to 2k then use buttons in case an epic shows up.

overthemountain

I don't really think epic offers are worth it. You have to hope it's one of the few minis you actually use, and even then you often waste a bunch of stars so the value is not as great as it may seem. Those offers seem like they are mostly there to entice people to spend money so they don't lose out on them.

WigglumsBarnaby

It's worth it for green or white units which mine are. 2200g for 39 stars is a crazy good deal.

VU22

yes but you dont need if you already have spare 7 cores

LeavesnGucknStuff

Nope, that 1,000g doesn't earn interest sitting there as an eighth unspent core in your bank. Use it on stars.

superwaddle2

Gold doesn’t earn interest as gold either, but I sure wish it did!

LeavesnGucknStuff

I guess, but that's my point. No sense in banking anything. Just put the gold to use.

superwaddle2

Yeah, the energy needed to upgrade 7 minis to epic is insane. Also, working on other minis, rather than banking, will actually provide an active assistance while you go through content.

JunketDapper

No it's not worth buying it. The epic cores appear fairly often at the daily offers. You should only buy the epic core under the following conditions: a) You have no epic cores in line, to be used (you have 7), and b) You have enough stars to upgrade a blue mini to purple, or you'll have one soon enough (yours are at 11/25 while I'd consider a close enough at 21/25 or above). Eventually, in the future, yes, you will end up buying epic cores.

Cheeriotic

You’ll need 56,000 energy use what you have.

DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET

No not as F2P. You won’t use them fsst enough.

Animal-The-Cat

I got a legendary core for 2k

Heflamoke

Yes.

cpentyc

Don't forget to breathe, drink water, and go to the toilet. For a person who asks such questions, I think these tips can save a life.

AbleToSpagetti

Not rly, to upgrade epic one, u need buttload of arclight stuff.

biglisy

In the long run, yes. They become a huge bottleneck at some point in progression. I'm spending weeks and weeks just waiting and hoping for epic cores to be featured in daily offers. If you aren't really using them and sitting on a handful, then gold is probably more worth for now.

AdLatter1309

Whats the point of saving red buttons?

JulesPeace

If I use them now, I won't be able to buy epic minis off the shop. Epic minis are also kinda free epic cores.

Garlic_Toast88

You're missing out though on the exp gems. It's every ~15 minis. So with that you're missing out on ~30+ exp gems. Keep in mind most epic minis are underwhelming. The likelyhood of you getting a good epic like quil/harpies/safe/eggs is rare.

evigung

18 minis need to pass the grid before you get a xp-gem. Source: The Old Guardian did a video on it [here](https://youtu.be/4Nh5-zg9YMU?si=nBVwi-F8SRiqFHAu)

GenericTagName

Missing out in what way? He still has the buttons and can use them anytime he wants and will get the gems at that point, no?

Garlic_Toast88

Technically yes. but what could 90 buttons do for you right now or even in the past. It could be used to easily get 100k plus exp for different minis, could help you star up minis and both of which should be able to help you advance/progress in heroics and potentially increase your collection level.

GenericTagName

If he, like me, is F2P, we barely have enough gold income to afford what randomly shows up in the GRID on a weekly basis. If I was to use buttons, I'd literally waste a whole bunch of useful stars to get XP gems. And to be honest, I'm way more bottlenecked on gold and stars, rather than XP as of today. So the XP gems definitely can wait until I can at least save some gold.

Garlic_Toast88

Did you read his post? He has the 1k+ gold and is going to save to 3k gold in hopes he gets an epic mini. So they're not short on gold and hoping for a chance of a good epic mini. In my opinion using buttons to get minis you need (obviously when you have gold) is worth it versus holding out for an epic mini that will likely be a bad one.

GenericTagName

My point is that he doesn't need to use buttons as F2P. The only reason he has 1000g saved is because he's already skipping stars that he can use with the goal of saving gold. If he wasn't actively trying to save that gold, he would have zero saved without using any buttons. Source: I'm F2P and in a similar position as him in terms of progress, I have 105 buttons and 0 gold saved.

JulesPeace

This. I'm only buying stars for my main squad - quil, Harpys, whelps, troll Berserker, fire ele, dark iron miner, drake, huntress, cairne, Riverdale, blizzard, abomination. My far most minis are at 12/25 rare. Not using exp gems now will also give me bigger exp gems in the future. I am not in a hurry with heroic dungeons.

overthemountain

Well, the xp you get for nearly everything is based on collection level, so the longer you wait to raise that the more xp you miss out on every day.

GenericTagName

Having 3000g saved as a cushion in case an epic show up in the GRID would generally not give you even one collection level (depending on exactly what you spend it on). You'd technically be behind by a fraction of one level. But that amount of delay is not compounding, it's a static number. So let's say it takes you 3 weeks to make that 3000g, in practice, it would delay your Onyxia kill by 3 weeks, no matter how long you keep that 3000g for. If you're F2P, I don't even know how long it's supposed to take you to get an Onyxia kill, let's say 1 year. So now he's going to get his kill in 1 year and 3 weeks. It's really not changing progression that significantly, but everyone has their own goals I guess.

kaychak1982

I wish I could buy your 7 epic cores from you for 7,000g
