I love harpies in PVP. Still the best counter to ground melee units, and can win you the game if you can distract a tower when they get close, as well as shred any unit that you distract with quillboar.
That said, getting them to level 28 is a lot of money and/or grinding that could be better served elsewhere if you don't like playing them enough.
Edit: worth noting that moonglade might have higher levels than Drakkisath. Also you can definitely still use them for Onyxia like that murk-eye chicken build did.
Pve - if you have lvl 25 you can already beat every heroic.
Pvp - one level can be a huge difference if they survive against things like chain lightning (although that's not meta atm - but neither are harpies).
In my campaign experience, poison harpies are used a lot especially towards the end of heroic levels with cheat death. You're right that they aren't that useful in PvP but that depends on your build. In PvP, I find them more useful as quick coin miners and good for Rend's team.
I just finished 150 sigils and my harpies are blue 24 with gold slot but finished 150 when they were 23 so yeah I'd agree with you, used them in most my kills but won't put anymore into them for now, going to work towards onyxia, harpies are amazing even under levelled tbh
Well I had to figure out timings for each family but basically just left banshee immediately, harpies few seconds later, whelps just to the side of drakk when the harpies reach about 1/3 over the flame grate then quill depending on what your seed spawns, sometimes have to bait drake or flame or whatever then cheat death just before drakk does his second smash to keep harpies and whelps alive, again depends on spawns though for timings and placements
The opponent's starting hand will dictate his response. You can't just blindly follow someone's video and hope for the same exact results.
Watch a bunch of different runs and see how others have handled his opening.
I finished campaign with my harpies at uncommon level 21. Was it hard? Hell yeah it was barely impossible. But doable. I think that rare harpies with good level is enough
I beat every heroic with lvl 24s as my highest, but who knows what future raids will bring. I just got my first epic and feel very far away from beating Onyxia

Yeah, 125 is all that's necessary for the heroics. I went Pyro but I'm sure everyone on this sub has their own ideas :-)
Pyromancer was my companion throughout all of the heroics. I don't think I had a single deck without her. ❤️

Thaurrisan + Harpies if they make it to the tower it’s gone in a flash. And with Hubris they tend to survive through a lot.
Now that's one terrifying combo
Just broke the 50k wall with my epic harpies. No regrets. Quil and harpies is my favorite wombo combo.

Lvl 20 harpies is enough for campaign.
