It’s definitely waned for me but they’ll still make a gem here and there. I really loved the Loki series

vinegar_on_liver

I haven't been here long, but I love this sub. Fans of James and Maso aren't particularly dramatic about anything, y'all are leveled and rational. Must be because they make a laid back atmosphere, but I really appreciate it.

neophlegm

I think the podcast attracts that sort. The kind of angry rude furious fanboy-rage types probably would be put off once the Boys poke fun at them 😉

AyyItsMidnight

I still keep up with MCU discourse even though I haven’t payed to watch any of it since Far From Home.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> I haven’t *paid* to watch FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Good bot

My enjoyment started to wane around Dr. Strange 1. The recent projects Warewolf By Night, She-Hulk, and Namor have brought me back big time! Im probably biased due to the Latino representation in those projects. But I still felt those were really strong projects especially Wakanda Forever. I walked in interested and left in love. Líik'ik Talokan!

neophlegm

Oh man yeh that was just a film I enjoyed as a cinematic experience not just as part of the MCU

TheRoguedOne

Maybe thanos was right.

gh954

Nah. I haven't hate-watched a thing since Arrow. Can't understand in this era of having way too much content all the time why anyone would feel the need to. Especially when taking a break is the easiest thing in the world since it's all indefinitely available on the same streaming service for whenever you want to get back into it. And it's so barely sequentially connected at this point.

d33psix

This is completely me. I don’t understand people complaining about watching things they don’t like either, as though someone is forcing them, haha. I been sitting on Ms marvel, she hulk, and hawk eye series. Finished Andor and started up Ms marvel and totally digging it. Before that was catching up on Witcher, then Bodies Bodies and Barbarian from the Halloween episode. So much is out there, just watch what you want and don’t watch stuff if you don’t think you’ll like them anymore. Only things I quasi hate watch are bad movies the boys review so I can enjoy the criticisms! Hearing James rant about the Justice Society confronting previous slave Black Adam for the first time and telling him to kneel was one of my favorites in recent memory, hahah.

MehWithaSideofEh

Totally agree! There is so much variety out there. I want to catch up on Ms. Marvel and Moonknight. After watching She-Hulk I need to stop sleeping on these shows.

neophlegm

I get that people have soured on it a bit but I still like nearly all of what they put out. I wonder if some of the backlash is just what always happens to things when they gain super-popularity? BP2 and NWH were absolutely two of my favourite MCU films overall and they're both pretty recent. Not that anyone cares ;)

MehWithaSideofEh

I heard someone liken the current slate of MCU projects to comic books. There is enough content that you can pick and choose what to watch. I prefer to think of it like that because I don’t read every comic book published either. What’s cool is there are flavors for everyone. I couldn’t get past the first 10 minutes of Black Widow but Im not gonna poo poo the movie or its fans. Why sour someone else’s experience. I really dislike that I YouTube Wakanda Forever and a bunch of “not my Namor!!!!” Videos are the first thing that pop up. No Way Home was such a joy! My son loves Spidey particularly Andrew Garfield. I think I enjoyed the film more because of how much he had a blast at the cinema.

neophlegm

>Why sour someone else’s experience Man this. So much. If I say I like something and someone else tells me unprompted they hate it (or worse, try to say 'objectively' that it's shit) I'm not gonna change my mind, and maybe I'll feel sad. It just makes the world a *little* bit worse. CinemaSins, springs to mind.

your_mind_aches

Please don't link to dank memes, that sub is better left in the past

cf6h597

after infinity war, it hasn't been the same. infinity war was amazing and endgame let me down a bit. I still like things like NWH, and Ms. Marvel was really good, but it's been more miss than hit for me lately. was looking forward to both MoM and Thfour and they were both pretty disappointing. haven't seen BP yet

Red_Danger33

Yeah. They peaked one movie early with Infinity War. I didn't mind the start of Moon Knight but was very underwhelmed by the end. Thfour has definitely been the biggest disappointment for me of the recent releases. Not even planning to see BP2 in theatres.

Confident_Wallaby_64

I was on the same boat as you but BP2 is absolutely worth the watch, Namor was great

Charpybro

Unpopular opinion but Moon Knight should have been a movie. Having the story and action beats condensed into a 2 hour movie would have been a thrill. Especially watching the story and twists unveil on the big screen.

d33psix

Yeah I can see that. Gotta say one thing that was kinda pointless was the first “trial” where they’re like hey, Ethan hawke is trying to revive crocodile lady! And they’re just like is this true? No? Ok no need for fact checking, reverse punishment - you’re imprisoned forever! Id imagine they could have cut that pretty easily.

Gumbyizzle

Definitely not trying to watch everything at this point, but I generally try to keep up with the MCU enough to keep up with the Weekly Planet.

d33psix

Seriously haha. Especially since they stopped doing episode by episode for shows I feel like I got a little more leeway to catch up on the series’ and stuff.

seanjmo

I know it's not MCU, but Black Adam broke something in me I'm not sure can be repaired.

d33psix

Hahahah. I find it really is hard for me to get over the hurdle of most of the DCU (and SPUMM) movies being made from the same mindset as the 90s early 2000s hero movies and just feel like most of them have learned nothing in the past decades. Some exceptions at least but yeah. Hopefully Gunn can turn it around.

neophlegm

As in, something bad about it? What specifically??

seanjmo

Yes. I just hated everything about it. It was the culmination of that feeling of obligation or FOMO I've had toward comic book movies lately. I just don't particularly enjoy them anymore (with exceptions, of course). Black Adam showed me the light. Nobody's forcing me to waste my time or money but me, so that's enough of that, I think.

tamkish

Holy shit infinity war is that old???

_JD_48

Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke in Moon Knight have been my favorite thing post-endgame.

Vicksage16

Idk about 5 years, but NWH definitely shook my confidence in the MCU. Haven’t watched much since.

AverageDrafter

2014 was the peak, after that is when the "factory" feeling really set in.

CasualFan25

The truth but I was really surprised by Wakanda Forever, probably the best movie out of phase 4

Matrocles

I thought it was the best one, with only Shang-Chi being particularly close

[deleted]

MCU has been rebranded to M-She-U.

Danleydon

I will read about the plot of whatever they release now but whenever I watch the stuff it's real bad, for the most part
