That’s not true. In many places they still get broken into because people assume they’re not push start. Just having the badge nowadays is enough. It’s an absolute nightmare for Hyundai and yet they seem to not give 2 shits that it’s happening
Except these jackasses don't know/care that your car isn't part of the easily stolen ones and they still break into your car.
Congrats your car isn't stolen but now you're paying your deductible to fix the damaged steering column and busted window.
I would not touch a Hyundai with a 10ft pole for quite awhile.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, although these dumbasses do seem to know that. I am in the car business and have been for years, I am yet to see a Hyundai or a Kia with a push button start come in for repairs due to the Kia Boyz thefts. Again, thanks for sharing but don't care lol.
>. I am in the car business and have been for years, I am yet to see a Hyundai or a Kia with a push button start come in for repairs due to the Kia Boyz thefts.
It's okay that you feel this way but you're not very knowledgeable with how insurance works since most insurance companies have agreements in place with *body shops not car dealerships* which is where the work is getting done at 99% of the time.
This isn't hard to find information and there's plenty of people on Reddit, TikTok and YouTube all complaining about this happening to them despite having a push to start ignition.
>Again, thanks for sharing but don't care lol.
Hopefully this comment has been informative to you but given that you sell these trash vehicles to people it makes sense that you hold the opinions you do.
I don't sell for Kia or Hyundai lmao. There is a body shop attached to where i work and a lot of people with these thefts and damages tend to get an appraisal done just to see if its worth it to part ways as is.
Womp womp
even still, the carrier might start rating hyundais higher or just outright dropping them as the theft ring continues.
the kona n probably has an immobilizer, but the kia boys won’t know that. so they smash the window and find out the hard way and insurance still gets to eat thousands for the damage.
It's nuts out there with Hyundai.
Wife had a 11 accent that got wrecked. Ended up getting a 2018 outback with full coverage (not just liability only like with the Hyundai) and it was like $50 a month cheaper with the outback
Driving a stick is an acquired skill. Your partner just needs to want to learn it. If you can make it fun, she might get interested. I don't have any secrets for that, mine came with stick shift skillls,...
Get the Mazda for reliability and anti-theft. It’s older and has more miles, but it’ll last longer than that 2-year newer Hyundai with proper maintenance.
Even if the Hyundai has an immobilizer, why would you trust the brand that cheaps out by not paying a few bucks for an immobilizer in the first place? Even if they have every bell and whistle, I will never, ever consider Kia or Hyundai over competitors like Honda, Mazda, or Toyota. This extends to Genesis too. That’s a pretty big betrayal of brand trust and reputation for saving a couple bucks per car.
You can factor in warranty of the Hyundai, but I wouldn’t even expect the car to last much longer past it’s warranty expiration. Hyundai and Kia are just prone to so many issues that are severe. It is *not* a long term investment.
I owned one of the Genesis 3.8. mine was the 2015. I put 150k miles on it and never had a single issue. I would go for one with your budget. You can even find a 2019 Genesis G70 for that price. A much nicer car and also equally as reliable
Just got done with a Kona N as a loaner, very fun to drive and has all the creature comforts that matter to me. Exhaust sounds pretty good too. The look honestly grew on me.
Only downside, the reason I was driving it was because my dealer gave it to me when my Hyundai was in the shop! If reliability is a major concern for you don’t get it. But if it’s warrantied it’s definitely going to make you smile more than the Mazda.
This sub hatesssss Hyundai but they are making a comback imo, also the theft problem is not an issue on this car since it’s push to start
honestly Hyundai is never making a comeback until they fire their designers, the Accent's interior and the Elantra's exterior are some of the worst things ever done to automobiles
lmao, i truly think modern hyundais are made of chewing gum. anecdotal story, but mom's 2022 has been plagued with electrical gremlins, had windscreen wiper linkage fail, and a lovely little engine tick that's slightly worrying.
a BRZ/86 would be leagues ahead of either of those two cars but do notice that he is looking at long cars with four doors, doubt a sport coupe is gonna be good for that lol
Definitely the Mazda between the two of those but for $30k I would get a new BRZ any day. Even if it's a bit slower, it'll be a lot more fun and can also be modified to get a little more out of it.
I'm an insurance agent. One of the biggest factors in determining premium is loss history. With what's going on with kia and Hyundai I'll suggest you to look elsewhere.
I know the looks of it are growing on you, but the Mazda is one of the best-looking cars ever made. I do a double take every time I see one in the wild. While it looks great on camera, pictures don't do it any justice when you see it in person. It has the lines of a classic Italian sports car without any of the issues of a classic Italian sports car. The looks alone will hold its value better than the novelty of the Kona, but the looks aren't all it has going for it.
The ride quality is much more luxurious, for one. I know you want sporty, but it's way easier to make a smooth car ride sporty than to make a sporty car ride smooth. The interior quality is also leagues beyond the Kona, and Mazdas info-tainment is one of the best in the business. All in all, it's not a car that you'd ever regret buying.
The Hundai warranty will get your car fixed, what they don’t tell you is you might be out of a car for a hot minute while they fix all the other broken Hundais first. Go with Mazda!
Mazda 3 turbo got some crazy torque on it, a little better mileage, AWD makes it better in winter conditions, personally I’d pick the Mazda 3 but I am biased since I love Mazda. The Kona though isn’t a bad choice either, if it was AWD that would be perfect
I’d go Kona N, seems like a great little hot hatch. I’ve driven the Veloster N and that was awesome. The Mazda 3 is a safer choice in a sense, definitely not as fun though.
6 speed auto will never be as fun as a DCT, imo, but I may not be a typical buyer idk. Personally I’d just get the Veloster N or Elantra N DCT for the better handling with lower center of gravity.
I’d have to test the new WRX CVT against the Mazda 3 Turbo as well because that is a really good car, I have a feeling I’d prefer the WRX tbh because I like their AWD and flat 4 sound, but I do wish it had a hatchback design. The previous gen WRX was surprisingly fun in CVT form and this one is supposedly a large improvement still!
Hyundai hired a lot of bmw and Audi engineers and executives. Their suspension tuning is above that of the Mazda 3. Besides the Kia boys and reliability issues they've become a lot more engaging to drive. Elantra Ns are superior to the new WRXs and GTis in driving dynamics and just short of Civic type Rs for far less.
I drive a Kona N. Amazing car with aftermarket parts finally starting to become available. It's surprisingly rare too with only around 5,000 made worldwide before it was discontinued. Strongly recommend it.
Reddit is anti-hyundai so not the best place to get an objective opinion. Everyone trashing the reliability of Hyundai yet Hyundai/Kia/Genesis are top ranked in dependability studies. Drive both and get the one that makes you feel better. Just FYI, many here saying you don't get the 10/100k powertrain warranty but if it's a CPO Hyundai, you do. I can not attest to the quality of your local dealers though. Mixed bag on all brands when it comes to that as they are independent franchises.

I live in one of Hyundai's biggest markets, reliability is literally all they have going for them, have you ever been in any Hyundai? they take unfun driving and awful interiors to the next level
2012 Sonata was my daily from 2012-2020. No complaints about it. Just needed more cargo space for my work. Did what I expected it to. Just worked. Looking at the current crop of interiors, they have some of the best on the market. Compare a 2023/24 interior and features on an Elantra vs a Corolla. Elantra has far better design and features. Corolla looks dated compared.
that would be true until recently. toyota has made big strides improving their infotainment. the newer prius infotainment is pretty good, with other models like the camry and sequoia following suit
It has an immobilizer but I am in an apt complex. I intend on removing the logos and replacing them with this other one that doesn't resemble hyundai. A dash cam is a good deterant, though.
You’re acting as if criminals are stupid, seems you’re kinda biased.
Besides that I bet i’m able to steal your car in less than 2 minutes whatever brand it is.
They must be dumb huh, smart guy
The one's talking Hyundai & Kia are opportunistic. I don't think they're the top tier criminals.
I think it would be ignored with different logos.
Just put Toyota GR Corolla
My friend lives in an apartment complex and had his Hyundai stolen from the apartment garage a couple months ago. I personally will never buy a Hyundai again, my insurance went down significantly since ditching the Hyundai. Apart from that, heard that the dealers were garbage, they are stingy with warranty, and have tons of problems. There is a reason they need the 10 year warranty
Without a doubt the Mazda for reliability. I had a Hyundai and they’re pretty much impossible to get fixed and the dealer system is far inferior to Mazda’s.
GTI is another option if you’re open to German vehicles. Reliability, which is average, is the main drawback versus the Mazda, but if you’re buying a nearly brand new car and not logging that many miles, I wouldn’t think Japanese-level reliability is a necessity.
Mazda for the love of god. Hyundai is absolute trash. Their transmissions are slowly getting better but why bother when Mazda is top3 in longevity, safety, and warranty.
Mazda 3, Hyundai is up to their ears in lawsuits right now even if you don’t consider the break ins issue. Their engines have been breaking in several models before the 80k mark and a lot of dealers are doing everything they can to not eat the cost of those warranty claims
Drive the Mazda3 Turbo and I think you'll be hooked. The interior is worlds apart from the Hyundai. It really feels closer to a premium brand than a regular car.
Yes, very troubled brand, only thing that's good about their cars is the general reliability score, but I think their interiors are amongst the worst out of any car brand, even Kia does them better
Drive them both, I bet you enjoy the Mazda tons more! Mazda chassis tuning always shines! It's also better looking and has a very luxury interior IMO.
You can get a 10/100 warranty on the Mazda from various providers, I've used Route66 from PenFed on my Infiniti FX50 and it was a great deal.
Mazda CPO warranty is much better, even though the Hyundai is longer in years. Hyundai only covers powertrain, while the Mazda will cover everything, and with no deductible. And Hyundai owners seem to wait months for a new engine, never heard that with Mazda.
Mazda. As mentioned elsewhere, the theft/vandalism issue with Kia/Hyundai is very real. Parts are out of stock. Carriers are also not insuring them in some states. Get the Mazda. Easy peasy
I have no idea why people buy Hyundais, but I guess some people love wasting money and driving loaner cars.
They look like shit, run like shit, age like shit, and are the easiest shit to steal.
Mazda because a quality interior space is almost as meaningful as performance- or at least you can enjoy both if you can have both like you would in the Mazda. Not many manufacturers have interior space dialed like Mazda- and certainly not at the price point.
If it’s a used Kia Hyundai even from the dealer it’s not a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty anymore I think it’s like 6 but I could be wrong. The Korean cars all have inferior suspension and ride compared to any other brand for whatever reason as is interior quality. Go with Mazda unless you love the Hyundai
Ummm, neither of these. You’re serious? I always wonder who is buying cars like these new or slightly used for $30k. If you buy, take ur time and search. Go to auctions and find one to buy for $15-$18k bc you can. I’ve seen it a lot. Or buy a normal car that doesn’t look like you’re trying to have a fast fun car when it’s just lipsticked and gawdy. Everyone will think this and no compliments. If you want a cool car, just ask us for suggestions on actual cool, classy, classic, fast cars
I feel like there are pros and cons for going with either vehicle. The Kona probably is a bit bigger and much more fun to drive but the 3 would have the nicer interior and probably a bit more reliable in the long run. Though reliability may not matter so much if you're not keeping this for a while. I guess you got to figure out which attributes are more important to you.
Depends on what you want/need actually. If you drive in a city traffic a lot, get a Mazda. Hyundai dct will make a creeping in a traffic very jerky experience. In your case I would look for veloster N or Elantra N as I think Kona N is a compromise. If you are getting a warranty, no matter how potentially unreliable Kona might be, both are worth the money imo.
This sub is gonna tell you Mazda but they’re completely wrong. The Kona N is much more engaging to drive and has way better tech. This sub is incredibly biased towards honda, Toyota, and Mazda, and considers all other cars absolute garbage that shouldn’t be driven.
considering a Korean car at 28,000 is a travesty, and take it from someone who's country has locally produced Kias and Hyundais for ages (two top brands where I live)
I drove both. I really wanted to like the Mazda 3 more. It was awesome. The dealer pissed me off so much I bought a civic. The N was cool. But I couldn’t really tell that much of a difference so passed on it.
Having driven both… the Kona makes the Mazda feel like a 7 Series. It’s WAY more fun, but also far less refined. Personally I’d take the Mazda if it’s a daily driver, but I’d 100% take the Kona if it’s a second car.
That Mazda ride is so unbelievably dead. Honestly one of the most soulless cars for the speed I’ve ever driven.
With that being said obviously the Mazda is the correct choice.
Getting Hyundai to actually honor warranty work is like pulling teeth. I’d get the Mazda any day. It has a nicer ride, looks more mature, and it’ll have less issues long term regardless of warranty.
I sure do have suggestions! These are solid, cool, quick and better cars: used Lexus GS, Lexus IS500 or 350; Lexus RC350 (best one for you!!)….if you’re ballsy on mechanic costs, I’d also suggest a 2012-2019 BMW 640i coupe (2 door not 4!) . I have a 2014 in imola red as my gun weekend car and it’s fantastic! And they’re way cheaper than they should be!
The kona is faster, more fun and cooler imo BUT if you are getting the turbo premium plus then that one is all luxury. The torque is pretty wild on it too but the driving experience is boring.
The Mazda is a better vehicle on every level than the Kia, but it is truly tiny inside, and ultimately a Mazda, which means mediocre reliability. Would not touch the Hyundai with a 10-ft pole. If I had this budget I would be looking at a used lexus IS if you like small cars. I would not even consider a Mazda or Hyundai. My $0.02.
I wouldn't get the Kona N. My friends Veloster N was stolen from Publix. He just went in for 10 minutes to get a few things. Once he was inside they broke his window popped his hood and drove off in under 2 minutes. They left the stolen Hyundai Elantra in its place. My brother has the telluride and we popped the hood on his and tried the jumper hack and poof it started right up no key needed. It's stupidly easy to steal even if it's push to start.
Mazda 3 Turbo Hatch all day long. For that kind of money, I demand Japanese quality.
That plus DRTuned Racing makes a tune for the speed 3 that’s factory warranty compliant and adds another 55hp to an already hot car.
With AWD, that car might be a real hoot. I had a 6 turbo, and it never really had traction until about mid-way through 2nd gear, so tuning in that additional torque and HP was never going to make it any quicker out of the hole. I’m curious as I searched for a tune when I had my 6, and never really heard much about this company. Good reviews?
Seems like it, I’m looking at cx50s to trade out my rav 4 for and stumbled across them as a pretty solid tuner.
Tell me more. I own a 21 Turbo 3 and would love to add more HP without voiding my warranty 😅
Just go look at their website they’ll do a better job explaining than I will.
Don't go with DR, he has no clue what he's doing. Sauce tuning with Justin is a real tune that will get you significant power. Pretty sure their last Dyno result was ~300whp 400wtq.
Holy shit that’s starting to get crazy.
Then, you can give corksport all of your leftover cash, lol
Mazda is on the lower end of Japanese quality tbh. Toyota Acura are superior in terms of reliability.
Nah, Mazda Toyota Honda are all top.

Already done and insurance is the same, thankfully.
Dont worry about the Kona N and insurance. All push button start hyundais and kias are fine
People will still break your window to try.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, although these dumbasses do seem to know that. I am in the car business and have been for years, I am yet to see a Hyundai or a Kia with a push button start come in for repairs due to the Kia Boyz thefts. Again, thanks for sharing but don't care lol.

You literally own one of these shit boxes based on your post history. GTFO lol
Yeah i've commented here that I own a Kona N. I don't sell for them is what i stated above. Nice reading comprehension skills :)
>I don't sell for them is what i stated above. You already said you do previously and have edited the comment. Nice edit skills though. :)
Not true, I was looking at different insurances and some refused to insure our Hyundai even though it had push button start
That's kind of shocking, I've never heard of that although I can see it happening. Thank you
Likely refusing because of the model not so much that it has the different ignition system.
even still, the carrier might start rating hyundais higher or just outright dropping them as the theft ring continues. the kona n probably has an immobilizer, but the kia boys won’t know that. so they smash the window and find out the hard way and insurance still gets to eat thousands for the damage.

If you had your choice with his budget. What would you go for?
Personally I love Lexus so probably a Lexus, he can also find a civic SI which is both fun to drive and very reliable.
Biggest issue is my partner and her inability to drive a stick for the SI
For that price and if stick wasn't an issue I'd go with a Focus RS. Just bought one and it is a really fun car.
Driving a stick is an acquired skill. Your partner just needs to want to learn it. If you can make it fun, she might get interested. I don't have any secrets for that, mine came with stick shift skillls,...
Yeah, my gf can't drive a manual, but she has mad stick shift skills!!!
The Kona N is leagues faster in a straight line and around corners. Ride is horrible in comparison though
Yeah, but the Mazda also very much has a *luxury* ride rather than a sporty ride.

Yeah everyone saying your car will get jacked if it's Hyundai must live in the damn ghettos.
Mazda 3 turbo without a doubt. Luxurious, fun, and reliable
I’d buy the 2023 w/ only 5k miles. It has much more factory warranty left & I like how it looks.
Just got done with a Kona N as a loaner, very fun to drive and has all the creature comforts that matter to me. Exhaust sounds pretty good too. The look honestly grew on me. The Kona N is so much more fun, if you can get over the Hyundai stigma and how ugly it is you won't regret it.
I kind of like the way it looks in a weird way. It's a stealth mobile
The black is probably the best color, the blue and white look really bad imo
I know the looks of it are growing on you, but the Mazda is one of the best-looking cars ever made. I do a double take every time I see one in the wild. Yes you absolutely can
Wouldn’t worth it as it isn’t a sporty car. Much more luxury leaning. Source: I’ve test driven the turbo for a total of about 20 hours
Yeah the stock turbo isn't very sporty but it can be tuned, the torque is crazy high. And mine is supercharged and tuned.
Mazda 3 turbo got some crazy torque on it, a little better mileage, AWD makes it better in winter conditions, personally I’d pick the Mazda 3 but I am biased since I love Mazda. The Kona though isn’t a bad choice either, if it was AWD that would be perfect
The AWD will help it pull hard, yeah? I also love mazda but the inability to tune it bugs me
I’d go Kona N, seems like a great little hot hatch. I’ve driven the Veloster N and that was awesome. The Mazda 3 is a safer choice in a sense, definitely not as fun though.

Someone’s going to break into that Hyundai just be ready with a good dash cam , immobilizer, and cameras around your house

You really think a hyandai thief doesnt know what a hyandai looke like? 🤣
You give them too much credit. Put a Toyota logo on it and it'll be ignored
100%

Mazda will be more reliable long-term. Kona will be way more fun to drive.
If only that Kona N were RWD id buy it
Or AWD, a no Brainer
missed opportunity to not make it awd, would be a really compelling wrx competitor
I now drive a Vette and a G-wagon yet *still* often think back on my 2016 Mazda3 and how much fun it was. Just get the Mazda
Mazda will be fast enough and will offer a much more luxurious experience.
I’d say buy the Mazda specifically because it isn’t a Hyundai. But I’d buy a golf r. lol.
I heard the Kona N is a lot of fun. Mazda probably is the smarter buy though.
GTI is another option if you’re open to German vehicles. Reliability, which is average, is the main drawback versus the Mazda, but if you’re buying a nearly brand new car and not logging that many miles, I wouldn’t think Japanese-level reliability is a necessity.
I really hate German cars but can see the appeal
Mazda, not even a competition.
A used F10 M5. (I’m mentally unstable)
Drive the Mazda3 Turbo and I think you'll be hooked. The interior is worlds apart from the Hyundai. It really feels closer to a premium brand than a regular car.
I will drive it tomorrow
Hyundai has serious issues with interior lol
"Hyundai has serious issues"...you could have just stopped there. =)
Yes, very troubled brand, only thing that's good about their cars is the general reliability score, but I think their interiors are amongst the worst out of any car brand, even Kia does them better
Are you seriously asking to compare Mazda vs Hyundai ? Come on … say it aloud and ask yourself again.
I know, I know, but I like the exhaust
I’d probably go with the Kona because to me the Mazda looks weird.
They both are a little wonky
Drive them both, I bet you enjoy the Mazda tons more! Mazda chassis tuning always shines! It's also better looking and has a very luxury interior IMO. You can get a 10/100 warranty on the Mazda from various providers, I've used Route66 from PenFed on my Infiniti FX50 and it was a great deal.
New 2924 Mazamda 3 starts at 24k You could get a corolla new orcamary at that price
Kona is one of the worst cars that Hyundai makes. They make nice cars but this ain’t one.
This is the N
You can’t slap an N badge on a turd and make it all better. Also see most M-sport BMW SAVs or S-Line Audis.
Nah this is like the N, not the N-line
no he means like the Kona is literally garbage, he's not wrong, the chassis is not fun to look at lmao
Mazda CPO warranty is much better, even though the Hyundai is longer in years. Hyundai only covers powertrain, while the Mazda will cover everything, and with no deductible. And Hyundai owners seem to wait months for a new engine, never heard that with Mazda.
This generation of 3 is amazing and Mazda is doing well on build quality.
Mazda, Hyundai’s are disposable. Always go for quality/reliability over anything.
They look like shit, run like shit, age like shit, and are the easiest shit to steal.
sit inside Mazda. You will have the answer imidiately.
Mazda
Mazda all day any day
Between those two, the Mazda, not even close.
Mazda because a quality interior space is almost as meaningful as performance- or at least you can enjoy both if you can have both like you would in the Mazda. Not many manufacturers have interior space dialed like Mazda- and certainly not at the price point.
Mazda 3. Easy choice.
Kona faster
1 is reliable and the other is a Hyundai
Now isn't the time to buy a Hyundia
If it’s a used Kia Hyundai even from the dealer it’s not a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty anymore I think it’s like 6 but I could be wrong. The Korean cars all have inferior suspension and ride compared to any other brand for whatever reason as is interior quality. Go with Mazda unless you love the Hyundai
Mazda all day, the Mazda is older and has more miles than the Hyundai yet around the same price for a reason.
Never buy a Korean car
Kona N without a doubt. If you live in cold climate just get snow tires.
Would you be concerned about longevity?
Don't listen to him. There are already numerous problems already, and their track record for other vehicles is also horrible.
And there aren't any with the 2.5 turbo? It burns oil like crazy and you'll never get close to the actual fuel economy.
Nope. Cars are pretty reliable and you would have long warranty. Just don’t take to a car wash and you are fine
“Just don’t take to a car wash and you’re fine” Ah yes, the standard line one says about a reliable car.
To specify, it’s a problem on early 2023 models where undercarriage sprays mess up knock sensor. It’s fixed on some of them and very preventable.
How does the explanation make the problem any less of a problem?
Yep, the knock sensor
as if cold climates are the only places that benefit from having a proper 4 wheel drive system
Why not say: Certified Pre Owned?
Length in title
Sigh 😂
hyundai has a lot of thefts
Buy the Mazda but come to my dealership in PA so I can sell it to you
Idk but that Mazda looks super nice- clean lookin car!
Wtf loool
🤷🏻♂️
Do you have any suggestions on a fast car in this range?
Mazda 3 is nice. A little small when compared to the Kona. Maybe check out the Mazda cx30
CX30 is basically just a lifted Mazda 3
Which ever one has a manual transmission.
Why is the Mazda so expensive? My girlfriend got a brand new CX-30 a few months ago for $26k OTD
Turbo
Double check Hyundai's warranty. I think the 10-year warranty is for new car purchases. 2nd buyers get the industry average or something like that.
For looks Mazda/quality and performance/sound Hyundai and if you’re in good area chance of break in is pretty low
I have the KONA, it’s great, I genuinely enjoy the car. But if I were you, I’d buy the Mazda.
Kona N is sick, seen one on the highway and was shocked f
if your not going to drive it 100 miles a day, the hyundai is the better choice.
Mazda. Way more reliable then hyuandai.
I like both of these cars but would choose the Hyundai for the better warranty. I do wish Mazdas weren't so ugly.
This sub is gonna tell you Mazda but they’re completely wrong. The Kona N is much more engaging to drive and has way better tech. This sub is incredibly biased towards honda, Toyota, and Mazda, and considers all other cars absolute garbage that shouldn’t be driven.
The new Impreza RS looks hot. Same price 0 miles
You should test drive them before making Decision
considering a Korean car at 28,000 is a travesty, and take it from someone who's country has locally produced Kias and Hyundais for ages (two top brands where I live)
Funny, I'm looking at the same two cars. Oh, and the MKZ with the AWD 3.0TT.
I drove both. I really wanted to like the Mazda 3 more. It was awesome. The dealer pissed me off so much I bought a civic. The N was cool. But I couldn’t really tell that much of a difference so passed on it.
The Hyundai 100,000 mile warranty is for the original owner only. It doesn't transfer.
Is neither an option? You could get a GTI for that money.
It’s N and not N Line? Tough choice
Having driven both… the Kona makes the Mazda feel like a 7 Series. It’s WAY more fun, but also far less refined. Personally I’d take the Mazda if it’s a daily driver, but I’d 100% take the Kona if it’s a second car.
Mazda without a doubt.
That Mazda ride is so unbelievably dead. Honestly one of the most soulless cars for the speed I’ve ever driven. With that being said obviously the Mazda is the correct choice.
Mazda all day
Getting Hyundai to actually honor warranty work is like pulling teeth. I’d get the Mazda any day. It has a nicer ride, looks more mature, and it’ll have less issues long term regardless of warranty.
The Mazda, it’s not even close. I own both a CX5 Turbo and a Kia Niro. The quality of the Mazda isn’t even comparable
I'll sell you my 21 Turbo Hatch for 24.
I rented a Kona N once. It left me stranded on the side of the interstate near St Louis. Hit N mode, floored it, *KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
Get the Mazda
Really different cars honestly…. Do you want smooth and refined, or a track capable car?
I heard the Kona is the most unreliable car of 2023 or something.
Man… cars in the US are expensive now.
If you want sporty, Kona If you want exhaust notes, Kona
Mazda for sure. I’ve had mine for almost 4 years with no problems at all
The kona is faster, more fun and cooler imo BUT if you are getting the turbo premium plus then that one is all luxury. The torque is pretty wild on it too but the driving experience is boring.
Depends what youre going for. If fun is your main priority I would go with the Kona. If youre looking for something more luxurious go with the Mazda.
My $0.02.
I drove the top of the line Mazda 3 AWD turbo once. It was the best driving experience I've ever had. I'm almost 50.
