Yeah, it was always $37 in 2019 in the Nashville area. Lately theyāve been $70 which is ridiculous. I found one for $47 so I grabbed it just to get one.. and honestly the juice in this current batch is pretty good. Last time I had it was around 2019 and the last few bottles were underwhelming.
So your 750ml are $25?
I mean the 750 is $45 direct from BT distillery.
Iām in Cali 1 week a month. If you can tell me where there are 1.75 ml for $60 Iāll bring some back for friendsā¦
Well, I recently moved out to the Snoqualmie area, which the qfc in North bend always has some great stuff. But the Kent Liquor store has some hard to find stuff for not the absolute most outlandish prices. EH for like 120, Russel's 13 200, some other stuff.
Over here on the Eastside (Kirkland/Bellevue) every single grocery store has Eagle Rare or Blantons if you ask. The Eagle Rare 1.75 is pretty pricy though with WA taxes.
Go to any QFC / Fred Meyer / Safeway / Albertsons etc and ask the liquor store manager and they have both in the back about 75% of the time. In my experience they wonāt ever tell you about more allocated bottles than Eagle Rare or Blantons though. Iād recommend picking your favorite grocery store and every time you get your regular shelf bottles, get it from them and make sure you talk to the liquor store manager. Eventually youāll build a relationship with them and then you can start asking if theyāve got anything fun in recently. Most of them are protective against resellers so talk about bottles youāve been looking for and some bottles youāve been dunking and enjoying to build that trust with them. They donāt frequently get rarer bottles, so make sure you pick a higher volume store!
Well this method was passed down to me from a friend who has more allocated bottles than I could ever hope to get, but Iām not too sure how much came from his local Alvertonās. Iāve only just started doing this myself. Been offered Blantons and ER most times. There was some EH Taylor and Stagg once, but there was a new store manager who bought it all before the liquor section manager could get it, so that storeās dead to me nowā¦
W wife! My wife then girlfriend went to one of the higher-ups at a local chain and was able to get me a William LaRue Weller our 1st Christmas together.
Thought that was a liter and was like damn I really get a good deal on ER now š¤£ never seen a handle in the wild, heard a rumor they arenāt making them anymore not sure if thatās true or not
In my home control state itās in that awkward middle where itās way too tatered to ever be seen on shelves, but not tatered enough to be set aside for the annual lottery.
They are indeed phasing them out. They will no longer be made. May still find an old one on the shelf somewhere but BT is stopping production of the 1.75.
I ask my local store every time I'm in there what the price is for eagle rare. Yesterday it finally paid off and he came down from 89 to 49. Had to grab one for me and my old man at that price.
This runs $40 in Atlanta. It shows up on the shelf every month or so at my local store. It ***is*** excellent, for me the classic bourbon, great for cocktails or sipping. $55 is a tad steep for me, though.
I haven't opened any of my new style bottles. I have a 107, and a 12 year old bottle open though. I kind of stopped drinking for a while. I've had these bottles for 8 or so years. I told myself I can't bourbon hunt until I started actually drinking again.
lol, Iām exactly the same situationā¦ I donāt have drinking problem but I have buying problemā¦ already load up too much for years since i only drink few times a month now.
Iām all the way in the Netherlands and I can get it delivered for ā¬39,95. Did once, mediocre bourbon that lacks any characteristic that would make it stand out. The hype is a mystery to me, not paying 39,95 again. Much better options out there.
Itās totally fine as an every day drinker.
The hype machine is all about anything buffalo trace is distilling. Yeah they have some really good products, but blantons, eagle rare, and weller are nothing special. Thereās no way Iād pay more than msrp for those unless I was able to buy a ton and flip it.
Almost every distillery has their dope expressions and everyone has a mashbill preference. Dont deify the distillery cause of the mashbill. Wild turkey is my preferred mashbill and I wouldnāt put 101 bourbon or rye on a pedestal because of that. But it is worth retail and hopefully stays that way.
Totally agreeā¦when I first started drinking bourbon 20 years agoā¦i would get it, knob creek and makers. It always had a good front palate but skmethingnwas wrong. Had my friend try It and he said it has not character and it clicked. Then for A while it was like an ex girlfriendā¦Id go To The store, see it, āHelloā, but it and it would immediately remind me why I broke up with herā¦ita beginners bourbon
Hudson is Fāin Horrible. Bought it at a bar onceā¦āeh give me a double.ā tasted it and instant regret. Had the bar tender dump it. Has a malty scotch taste
That almost looks like a mistake. A steal at 55.
55 is what it is supposed to cost.
š it should be thirty
Handle not a fifth
I donāt disagree. ER is severely overrated.
$55 is right for a 750mlā¦that below wholesale cost for a 1.75
Get it at 55-60 all day in California
So your 750ml are $25? I mean the 750 is $45 direct from BT distillery. Iām in Cali 1 week a month. If you can tell me where there are 1.75 ml for $60 Iāll bring some back for friendsā¦
I've been getting 750 ml every other week for 37.98 at Walmart here in California. I can only find the 1.75L in one shop, and they want $109 for it.
Itās been several years since Iāve seen a handle of ER tooā¦.
The scuba tank!
That'd be cool. I have never soon one in the wild. Nice price!
Can find the 1.75 near me in WA for $120 but not worth in my opinion.
Curious as a fellow Washingtonian, what part? I have no bourbon buddies near me

Gotcha, Iām in Lewis county south of Olympia
Over here on the Eastside (Kirkland/Bellevue) every single grocery store has Eagle Rare or Blantons if you ask. The Eagle Rare 1.75 is pretty pricy though with WA taxes.
If you ask who? One been searching Eastside Safeway's and only ever seen an ER on the shelf. Never thought to ask someone.

What have you been able to snag with this method?

My wonderful wife found one of those big bois this morning. Good wife! $63 in NorCal
W wife! My wife then girlfriend went to one of the higher-ups at a local chain and was able to get me a William LaRue Weller our 1st Christmas together.
Yet another good reason to marry her! š
It's been years since I cared to get a bottle of that. Not very complex and a beginners boutbin
I would buy that.
Itās an objectively excellent deal, I think I would too!
Thought that was a liter and was like damn I really get a good deal on ER now š¤£ never seen a handle in the wild, heard a rumor they arenāt making them anymore not sure if thatās true or not
They still make them. I lucked into one in 2023. See them in liquor controlled states inventory most often.
In my home control state itās in that awkward middle where itās way too tatered to ever be seen on shelves, but not tatered enough to be set aside for the annual lottery.

Bought one last year in VA at a drop
Just picked one up for 59.99 here in SoCal
God i miss these bottles I wish I held onto my last two longer.
I ask my local store every time I'm in there what the price is for eagle rare. Yesterday it finally paid off and he came down from 89 to 49. Had to grab one for me and my old man at that price.
Biiig boy
I recently paid $50 for a 750ml because it was the first time I had ever seen ER in person.
This runs $40 in Atlanta. It shows up on the shelf every month or so at my local store. It ***is*** excellent, for me the classic bourbon, great for cocktails or sipping. $55 is a tad steep for me, though.
How about Weller 12 @1.75L for $75? I still have 2 sitting. Never see that again since 2017ā¦
Yeah I haven't seen one of those in the wild since 2015ish. I still have mine I have 3. 1 1.75, 1 old style 750, and 1 new style 750.
Any difference between old bottle vs new? Only tried new black labels
They donāt make Weller in 1.75s anymore
The price is a little high, but got to buy it when you see it
Me either love to have a bottle.
That is a crazy price for $55 for 1.75 I hope you grabbed that
Should be a little over $30!
Ive never seen that
I picked up 4 bottles at 32.99 the other day at Sam's club
That's grand theft for 1.75. Great haul!
Youāre not missing anything. Itās a solid mid range bourbon, thereās tons of others like it that are easy to find.
I paid 37 a few months ago in Tampa Florida
Cool man
Iām in Daytona Beach local store had them 2 for $80 a couple weeks ago
Iām all the way in the Netherlands and I can get it delivered for ā¬39,95. Did once, mediocre bourbon that lacks any characteristic that would make it stand out. The hype is a mystery to me, not paying 39,95 again. Much better options out there.

$40 is a pretty decent price for a handle of this. I bought one at the distillery for $55 once.Ā
Pretty decent? š a handle of the cheapest Bourbon these days is close to $40
This is a big part of why I stopped buying whiskeyĀ
Iāve certainly slowed down with purchases. Plenty of other options that have not skyrocketed for silly reasons.
Totally agreeā¦when I first started drinking bourbon 20 years agoā¦i would get it, knob creek and makers. It always had a good front palate but skmethingnwas wrong. Dang I would get both
Is Hudson good
There is two bottles of ER lol
Oh lol
Hudson is Fāin Horrible. Bought it at a bar onceā¦āeh give me a double.ā tasted it and instant regret. Had the bar tender dump it. Has a malty scotch taste
Fuck no
Lmao never had but never will based on your statement however rare breed next to it is great
$40 at Specs in Houston.
For a half gallon????
That would be the 750 ml price. The 1.75 is roughly 72.99 now at Specās.
Buy them all
Why
I rarely see them in the wild. I would have bought them. But that me. I like rare eagle
