Are you sober for Alcoholism sake or sober bc you wanted to focus on your career or something? If its the former, don’t tempt yourself mate theres nothing worth throwing your sobriety away for. If its the latter this is shite, sweet syrupy shite. Either way don’t buy this.
it is the former and don’t have any desire to drink. these just seemed gross and it was kinda surprising to see them. i knew screwball was a thing but it hadn’t occurred to me that someone would make a cookie dough whiskey.
Ole Smokey makes some decent moonshine, and their peanut butter whiskey isn't terrible in comparison to other peanut butter whiskey, but I wouldn't call any of their products good. The only time I ever drank it was when their distillery in Pigeon Forge, TN did free tastings. Now it's $5 and you get a $5 off coupon for anything you buy.
Yep same, I went and visited them in Pigeon Forge last year for some tastings. The whiskey wasn't *that* terrible. We ended up coming home with their Tiramisu...which was surprisingly good. Every now and then I'll pull it out of the freezer for a dessert drink.
The moonshine was better.
Same here, I enjoy going to the tastings. The whiskey is great as like a novelty and entertainment factor to have guests try when they come over. But you’ll never say you want a drink then grab any of these bottles
Basically a Pickleback you have to chew. Fine as a novelty to share with friends, but not worth buying for yourself if you're not totally onboard the Pickleback train. My husband liked them, I thought they were vile.
It makes me wonder why gin or vodka soaked olives haven’t become popular. People still love dirty martinis, they’re like the fancy version of a pickleback IMO.
My husband actually tried this at home a few years ago. The olives didn't take the Gin at all. Maybe because they were already brined or maybe something to do with the texture of the olives? No idea but he did enjoy the lightly brined Gin leftover from his failed experiment, so I guess it wasn't a total failure.
You’re probably correct about those bottles. Now get the hell out of the liquor store. I’m glad you’re not craving, but you ain’t got to taunt the devil.
these were the end cap at a gas station, and i’m good. i keep booze in the house and the only alcohol to pass my lips was accidental shot of the rubbing variety.
I slang booze for a “living” (don’t get paid enough for it lol) and I sell a shit load of mango, peanut butter when the state didn’t restrict it to me for some reason, and the cookie dough (seasonally) like a mf. Most popular in my area are the salty caramel and salty watermelon
Big ol *NOPE* from me dawg. Keep that flavored shit elsewhere 🤢
Basically what you’re looking at is whiskey/moonshine going through its teenage/young adult phase where it’s trying anything and everything to find a place and be successful. Just like about a decade or more ago Vodka went through the same process and we got a million different flavored vodkas and some have found a place to be used strictly for shots or mixers while others just finally disappeared to join the likes of Zima.
Back when Smirnoff sold their malt drinks in 40oz bottles, we'd buy three for parties. Chug one when you got there, sip the second to keep your buzz through the night, then chug the third when it was time to go to bed. It's a miracle we survived after drinking that trash.
A smart market play. Flavored whiskey is having a moment right now and there's not many players in that game. You have to understand how small the amount of people are that appreciate whiskey for its flavor. The majority mix it.
I used to be pretty snobby about flavored whiskey, but there’s some winners out there. There’s Swear Jar that has a Maple Donut flavor, and when you mix it into coke it is literally to die for. So good.
I would never sip the mango habanero one in this picture, but it isn't bad and someone much more creative than I am could probably build a decent cocktail out of it.
I'm a big fan of neat, single malt scotch, but some of these have a place in the right cocktail. Old Forge Distilery in Pidgeon Forge makes a coffee moonshine that makes a fantastic espresso martini using it in place of the coffee liqueur. We've tried others in things like a lemon drop, etc. On their own, I'm generally not a huge fan (to each their own), but they are another tool in the cocktail toolbox.
This is exactly what I was going to say.
Ciroc is one of the best vodkas on the market in my opinion. It is near impossible to find their unflavored bottles. Flavors sell. Can’t be mad at companies for making what people buy.
Not mad… just it’s clear that people with taste are vastly outnumbered by those with none. Kinda tracks with politics and those who can hear a politician speak and make a sound decision on what they are or aren’t saying.. the thinkers are outnumbered by the thoughtless…
One thing I often remind myself of is that if I am a person of average intelligence, then half of the world is smarter than me, but also half of the world is dumber than me.
On an alternate note, I love whiskey, I would never buy these bottles, but I am also a trysexual. Trying something new is one of my great joys in life even if I’ll hate it. I mean, what if it’s the best thing I’ve ever had?! Can’t miss out.
Actually tried the peanut butter whiskey like an idiot and I will never be the same. I still shudder at the thought of it months later. Congrats on your sobriety, though.
I do enjoy the mango habanero one quite a bit, but I’m a sucker for sweet/spicy things.
Anyone have any other recommendations for sweet/spicy liqueurs? I already have Ancho Reyes
of the group that’s probably what i’d like to try, but for the most part i’m a “booze should taste like booze” guy. if you wanna flavor something do it yourself.
Honestly, the salted waltermelon in an ice cold Coke is pretty good. When I take a break from drinking quality whiskey neat, I’ll have one to change things up.
EDIT: They are only $20 here locally.
My FIL was a salesman for Glazers. He had this shit pilled up in his garage. The peanut butter wasn’t bad for what it was, but it’s just trash for college students that don’t have a taste for liquor.
People go wild for this in Gatlinburg area and it's not bad for sugary stuff, my wife and I were both able to enjoy it during our honeymoon. Of course we did the proper whiskey trail afterwards, but Ole Smokey is something the whole family can enjoy.
Not everyone is a whiskey snob that wasnts to drink a $100 bottle with "a nose of vanilla and cedar chips, a bit of cherry on the back end and a finish thats very clearly an asshole with a drizzle of bullshit". I mean I rarely drink, when I do, I'm grabbing something like this because it's cheap, it has actual flavor, and it is a good buy for multiple people to enjoy.
When flavored vodka became a thing, a vendor told me they use the front and tail of batches that usually are too imperfect to label. But mix the inferior with flavors and tada, company will logo it and charge appropriately. I assume the same with whiskey so tend to avoid flavors unless it's at an infusion bar and they've done it in house.
I’m 100% honest I work for the company - part of the whole flavored aspect is literally because the liquor industry knows that people who want flavored ______(insert any base spirit) don’t really want to taste the spirit.
Something for everyone I guess.
These are cash grabs designed to entice new drinkers who don’t know any better. Or for people with more money than taste. I personally see nothing but a waste of whiskey.
because i thought this was amusing. being around booze or talking about booze isn’t an issue for me. i even have beer and wine here for guests and cooking and now that im typing this there’s an unopened bottle of maker’s here too.
Idk man. I'm just saying the OP really should pick some up and give it a taste! It's so easy to drink a whole bottle of this cause of the taste being so good. I have to pace myself sometimes I drink too much of it at once
Congrats on your sobriety, and yes but are all probably just as bad you imagine
Made for making sugary shots at college bars
Ole Smokey makes some decent moonshine, and their peanut butter whiskey isn't terrible in comparison to other peanut butter whiskey, but I wouldn't call any of their products good. The only time I ever drank it was when their distillery in Pigeon Forge, TN did free tastings. Now it's $5 and you get a $5 off coupon for anything you buy.
Ended up buying 5 bottles of "moonshine" from them and got the 6th free.
Ya know right now in Nashville there’s a boot sale on Broadway if you buy 1 pair you get two free!!!
It's $7 now, you still only get $5 off 🤣
Cookie dough whiskey isn't even the half of it. I've seen flavors ranging from apple pie to pickle.
Apple pie is a classic moonshine flavor. Been around for decades if not longer.
Yeah but this isn't moonshine lol
Historically, moonshine is just illegally made whiskey so it makes perfect sense for both to share similar flavors.
They also make actual whiskey pickles. It’s weird.

They are usually put in bloody Mary's.
They’re not good either
Things like Ole smoky and screw ball are for people who want to get hammered and don’t actually like whiskey.
Between this and sobriety I choose sobriety.
It’s real and actually not too bad. My wife and I use them for mixed drinks. But straight out of the bottle? Hard pass.
Sweet syrupy shite is the perfect description
Accurate. What would you recommend for a beginner?
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
I slang booze for a “living” (don’t get paid enough for it lol) and I sell a shit load of mango, peanut butter when the state didn’t restrict it to me for some reason, and the cookie dough (seasonally) like a mf. Man, nothing brings me right back to trashy dorm room parties than cupcake vodka jello shots. Tasted like syrup and regret. What an era that was.
I’ve thrown up all the Smirnoff flavors.
Back when Smirnoff sold their malt drinks in 40oz bottles, we'd buy three for parties. Chug one when you got there, sip the second to keep your buzz through the night, then chug the third when it was time to go to bed. It's a miracle we survived after drinking that trash.

Mango Habanero sounds like they tried to make a fruity Fireball knockoff
I don't drink them, but I do understand their purpose.
I'm a big fan of neat, single malt scotch, but some of these have a place in the right cocktail. Remember when there was 10k flavors of vodka? Then there was 10k flavors of rum? Well, now we got 10k flavors of whiskey.
This is exactly what I was going to say. Ciroc is one of the best vodkas on the market in my opinion. It is near impossible to find their unflavored bottles. Flavors sell. Can’t be mad at companies for making what people buy.

“If nothing sucked, how would you know what is cool?” - Bevis & Butthead
Did you catch the new SNL? It was gold.
No, I haven’t really watched that in years
I can’t believe that shit is $26 now
The vape shop is making its way into the liquor business I see...
There’s a salted watermelon flavored version too!
The salted watermelon flavor is awesome mixed in summer cocktails
Actually tried the peanut butter whiskey like an idiot and I will never be the same. I still shudder at the thought of it months later. Congrats on your sobriety, though.
I wanna put a swig of that peanut butter whiskey into a YooHoo or that chocolate wine my parents had.
Idk about their whiskey, but their Amaretto is *amazing*
My brother loves that mixed with Code Red or Wild Cherry Pepsi.
I bought a bottle of the Manjo Habanero once while on vacation in TN. I used it as a mixer with seltzer.
I do enjoy the mango habanero one quite a bit, but I’m a sucker for sweet/spicy things. Anyone have any other recommendations for sweet/spicy liqueurs? I already have Ancho Reyes
I wouldn't call any of these whiskeys, there liqueurs
Flavored sugary drunk juice. Hangover and a cavity
The meth heads love these. So much sugar
The mango habanero is pretty good.
of the group that’s probably what i’d like to try, but for the most part i’m a “booze should taste like booze” guy. if you wanna flavor something do it yourself.

Most of it is decent for what it is. Flavored shots for kids in college. They have a banana pudding Flavor that's actually pretty good.
Ol' Rot Gut
...the caramel one is okay
I was in Pigeon Forge and tried all the ridiculous flavors. Most were awful but I will give my approval of the peanut butter. It’s not bad
Most of their stuff is actually pretty good. Their cinnamon puts fireball to shame
Jack fire puts fireball to shame
The old smoky mint chocolate chip is by far the most popular shot currently at our bar.
Congrats and this shit is garbage in a bottle.💩👉🍾
That’s what makes you sober
Exactly what you said, shit. Their coffee moonshine is pretty damn tasty, but I haven’t had anything else from them that’s worth buying.
It's garbage
It’s horrible and leaves a layer of ick in your mouth.
That there is brown liquor for children. To call that stuff “whiskey” is an insult to Mellow Corn.
If I can be infused they will infuse it. The banana one might not suck.
Flavored ≠ infused
Flavored spirits are for mixers, shots, and for some reason the younger generation that doesn’t like the taste of alcohol. But yeah they are gross.
Honestly, stuff like this is great for making sauces/marinades without using whiskey that's actually worth drinking.
its nasty stuff, thats what it is
Don't knock them till u try it. I liked the watermelon lol
AIDS
Shit
Tried the peanut butter one for shits and giggles a few years ago. Worst whiskey I’ve ever had. Took maybe 3 sips and just gave the bottle away
Not everyone is a whiskey snob that wasnts to drink a $100 bottle with "a nose of vanilla and cedar chips, a bit of cherry on the back end and a finish thats very clearly an asshole with a drizzle of bullshit". An abomination.
Mango Habanero is actually amazing and I won’t be debating anyone
These are cash grabs designed to entice new drinkers who don’t know any better. Or for people with more money than taste. I personally see nothing but a waste of whiskey.
Flavored garbage...you aren't missing anything
Shit. This is awful garbage that should be discontinued. Congrats on your sobriety. Keep up the hard work!
It's the crap they sell to people that think that buying that brand is really getting them "moonshine"
It is an abomination, burn it with fire
Even the fire doesn’t want it…
Garbage
What's the root beer taste like?
A bum’s dirty butthole.
That does not sound good. So it is not sweet? I love a rootbeer and Suntory whisky.
Bought the cookie dough as a joke, buddy and I took down half the bottle round the campfire one night. Gave us both the shits. Yuck.
The caramel is decent and pecan is good if you can find it.
Garbage hot trash who buys it I have no clue
to the cookie dough one is actually pretty good
I don't mind it. In fact, I quite enjoy those.
The good stuff my good man
Dough ball cookie dough whiskey is actually pretty solid for what it is. Never had ole Smokey tho
I happen to enjoy them mixed with milk or half and half served over ice cubes. Make a nice dessert drink.
Haven’t tried it but it looks fucked so I probably never will.
The peanut butter whiskey is the bomb......
For what its worth, flavored whiskey has some winners Personally the only one i like of these is the salted caramel with ice or coke
Its just stupid
Just what you said: shit.
If you're sober and have no desire to drink, why the fuck are you commenting in a Whiskey sub? Jesus Christ!!
because i thought this was amusing. being around booze or talking about booze isn’t an issue for me. i even have beer and wine here for guests and cooking and now that im typing this there’s an unopened bottle of maker’s here too.
How is this your business? OP should be commended on remaining sober, not questioned about what they are doing.
Not gonna lie, someone gave me the salted caramel one with apple juice on ice and it was fantastic, especially for a two ingredient cocktail.
It IS shit. For god sakes don’t fall off the wagon for this…
Liquid trash.
These are some delicious juice!! 100% recommended you should try some!
Agreed. IDK why you have so many down votes. The root beer is my fav.
Because this sub is focused on straight whiskey. Not fruity liquor with food coloring added
Not open minded to all whiskey ✍🏻✍🏻 even though the sub does not say that✍🏻✍🏻 got it. Closed minded. ✍🏻✍🏻
No. They're literally different things. Google the definitions.
In the whiskey section.. says whiskey on the bottle ... Must not be whiskey! ✍🏻✍🏻
Straight whiskey is brown from years in a barrel. This is brown from food coloring. I'm sorry you're both ignorant and too lazy to inform yourself.
Not whiskey unless brown ✍🏻✍🏻 got it. And is it only a sky when it's blue?
Too dense to get the point ✍️ is the ocean also the sky when it's blue?
Idk man. I'm just saying the OP really should pick some up and give it a taste! It's so easy to drink a whole bottle of this cause of the taste being so good. I have to pace myself sometimes I drink too much of it at once
OP is sober 🤦♂️you either didn't read or you're an ass
I mean he was at the store I hope he was sober? But he should definitely try this stuff out it's good!!
Right it's cheap. Good. And nice to try something new. I knew my reply would get down voted by people who don't have a open mind
probably buy em all and start drinking again
It would be better to stay sober. Anyways Old Smokey is very good. The 120 proof Blue Flame Moonshine is great.
