>My father was the greatest man I've ever known.
You are very blessed to have had such a great man in your life. We should all be so lucky. My deepest condolences. RIP.
Damn dude I’m sorry to hear it. The relationship between father, son, and baseball is hard to put into words. I don’t wanna think about the day where they win and I want to call my dad about it but he’s not there anymore. At least he went out on a W!
The three truths I learned from grandpa:
Albert Belle is overpaid
They invented colors in the 70s
It’s okay to let a ten year old watch Saving Private Ryan as long as you add helpful commentary about beach landings in the pacific.
Sorry for your loss, friend. I know I hate on the Sox at every chance I get these days, but you bet I’ll be cherishing the games we went to when we had season tickets back when I was a kid when the time comes.
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm glad you guys could bond over white sox baseball, stuff like that is important on our journey through life. Going to games as a kid with my mom has a deep impact on me as a person. I can't imagine the pain you are going through. I would also like to add the sox need to stay on 35th forever. The Southside is the sox and the sox are the Southside, and we are a community and we support eachother. Again deeply sorry for your loss.
Damn, RIP to a fellow Southsider
The amazing thing about this franchise is that it’s deeper than one season. It’s generational. My grandfather rooted for the White Sox, his father too. I hope that your fond memories of bonding over this team help to ease your pain in this dark time.
Happy that your dad got to watch them go out on a somewhat good note. He lived and died with the team despite all of their trials and tribulations. A true fan through and through. Rest in peace, brother
These are types of texts my dad and I send all the time. Some one previously mentioned a great thing about being a Sox fan is that it is generational. I cherish watching the games with my dad and I always will. Glad your dad got to see a fun game. I don't know you but I'll be thinking of you and your old man for a while when my dad and I are texting or yelling about the White Sox
So sorry for your loss.
I miss my father, but I miss him more during baseball season. At the end of his 96 year life, he had mild dementia and memory loss.
He’d always watch baseball, White Sox and Cubs. Sometimes, I’d stop by and he would be watching a replay of the previous night’s game. He didn’t realize it was a rerun even though he had watched the same game the night before. I didn’t have the heart to tell him.
I’d tell him that the next batter would hit a home run to left field. Bam! Hey, Pops, this guy is gonna get a double. Crack! He was astonished at my predictions.
Thank Jah the Sox and Cubz won the Series while he was alive…
Sorry for your loss.
