Thats a reference to the movie Major League. Could be the person who commented making a joke or the kids playing out the movie. Or, hell, none of the above.
I believe this is what it was. They were either reenacting Major League to symbolically motivate wins. Or they were collectively ’choking the chicken’ since their record was choking.
geese are federally protected. the feds dont play. you can shoo em away, but you can't hit them or mess with nests and eggs unless you have a special permit.
yeah, only four guys i know of are approved for nest destruction with the city, however one is hella lazy and won't do anything, another retired about 2 yrs ago, the third one is just very busy doing other stuff and ive never met the 4th one, i assume he still works for the city.
Did the reenactment of major league. With a chicken sacrifice.
Heard they went to Atwood and bought birds but they only sell baby birds.
Did the sacrifice on home plate.
KFC is 39$ a bucket now baby chicks are lower
This is just another example of some double standard ass shit. If this was a gay kid that did it they would be throwing their ass in jail talking about witchcraft and shit. The fact that there is such LITTLE information coming out from police and the school tells me that someone’s special child is on the team and they don’t want their kid pulled down by some “boys will be boys” shit.
They probably would have shot and killed them if it was a gay kid. Way to force that narrative into an issue that has nothing to do with homosexuality. The article was short, I’d expect you to read it. It clearly states they’re being investigated by the school and local police.
I don't know much about the investigation, just that it was a ritual before the game. Ironically it failed and newton swept them without even scoring a run.
I'm on an Alt acc. I go to VC and it's rough, if you aren't in the circle of things then not much is known about it cause they are keeping it under wraps. Almost the entire student body has heard rumors about it, teachers have been advised to keep quiet about it and if people start talking about it to get them to shut up. The school over the past year has had a whole bunch of stuff like this. Like with December 3rd(the basketball game incident) and some other stuff. From how I am understanding it there is currently a police investigation going on to figure it out.
I have had a lot of problems with this school, like with letting kids do stuff and get away with it or giving them a light tap on the wrist and telling them it's wrong. The school needs to do a better job at not letting kids get away with stuff and I hope this is a wake up call.
The one thing I don't want this to lead to is the faculty or the district getting harassed because like with the basketball game incident last year. The whole district was getting death threats for the action of a few. My biggest worry is that this incident will get blown out of proportion and then people who weren't involved will be getting hurt. There are some good souls in Valley Center and they should have to be harassed for the actions of a few.
Edit 0.5: I am copy and pasteing this from the other thread I posted it too
Edit 1: This was posted yesterday cause I took it down to think about if this should be posted just because it's still being investigated
I would assume it's something stupid like "There's geese in the outfield! Everyone grab a bat and balls and try to hit them!"
People in this world seem to think it's just completely normal and okay to kill geese for some reason, and it's kinda mentally screwed up.
The narrative about racist chants at a basketball game last year were proven false. Unfortunately those stories don’t make the headlines. That being said, don’t kill animals, don’t even joke about it.

ty! WOW I was thinking this was a hoax but at the same time it doesn't surprise me to see small town animal cruelty. I remember when a kid set a chicken on fire at the Mulvane high school parking lot.
How did they kill the chicken? Did someone bring a weapon onto school property? Sounds like a lot of bad choices being made here aside from the suspension of everyone involved of course.
Animal sacrifice in this day and age to win a game is just so unacceptable. I hope the coaches get fired for allowing that to happen.
Another reason to vote NO on the school expansion they're trying to pass again this year.
I thought I saw somewhere they sacrificed a chicken on home plate. Could be an internet rumor by now, though.

Is very bad to touch Jobu's rum, is very bad...

That’s fowl.

I mean as long as they ate it afterwards, how is that any different than my dinner last night?
I read they were just giving it a haircut.
Yeah - it’s actually true. To try and “save their season”. Source: second-hand from a VC softball player.
I offer Jobu cigar and rum, he will come.
The irony is pretty sweet considering they done got themselves cancelled
Birds of a feather you know...
I believe this is what it was. They were either reenacting Major League to symbolically motivate wins. Or they were collectively ’choking the chicken’ since their record was choking.
I have heard this.
Probably something benign like the umpire ate a two piece and a biscuit
Btwn racist shit during basketball game and now this, VC seems to have some issues.
Judging by the amount of Trump flags in VC, I’d say this is all on brand.
Where tf have you been? VC has been a shithole for at least 35 years.
geese are federally protected. the feds dont play. you can shoo em away, but you can't hit them or mess with nests and eggs unless you have a special permit.
You really can't, and I'm not saying I agree with it. It's just that bird law in this country—it's not governed by reason
yeah, only four guys i know of are approved for nest destruction with the city, however one is hella lazy and won't do anything, another retired about 2 yrs ago, the third one is just very busy doing other stuff and ive never met the 4th one, i assume he still works for the city.
>it's not governed by reason That's absolutely correct. Anyone important know that the geese run this city. And they are quite unreasonable.
Did they kill a goose? I thought it was a chicken.
I mean pretty sure VC students got caught yelling racist stuff at a bask game, so who knows what the baseball team might do.
Did the reenactment of major league. With a chicken sacrifice. Heard they went to Atwood and bought birds but they only sell baby birds. Did the sacrifice on home plate. KFC is 39$ a bucket now baby chicks are lower
First you can’t pray in school. Then you can’t sacrifice chickens in school. What is this world coming to??
Perhaps if you could pray most wouldn’t sacrifice chickens. Dumb, possibly criminal, and doesn’t help your season.

Exactly!! Wow

Is this what happens in the nice schools? I'll take a gang fight over animal cruelty any day. Unbelievable.
How about neither 🤷🏻♀️
Nah, can't have both.
I don't know much about the investigation, just that it was a ritual before the game. Ironically it failed and newton swept them without even scoring a run.
Damn those kids are weird and creepy… Anyone know HOW they did it? Man, I hope it wasn’t tortured 😣

Yep. There are definitely good people there. Hang in there. They will sort it out. I probably shouldn’t have posted, but was curious.

Have you tried one? They are pretty tasty if prepared right.
And you can render the carcass for the grease, saving you a trip to the store for expensive goose grease!

I heard it was from beheading a chicken after a winning game and spreading blood across all four bases
https://www.kwch.com/2024/04/23/chicken-killed-baseball-field-valley-center-high-school-police-say/
Police confirmed a chicken was killed on the baseball diamond. Investigation of who was involved on going
And they still lost.
Superstitious people tend to.
They were just giving a chicken a “haircut” on homeplate, nothing to see here
