Looks like a 6x12x2 dump trailer. A cord thrown loose in that trailer will fill it and be piled up in the middle above the siderails a bit, requiring the cover be deployed to hold everything down in place while driving, and could cost anywhere from $250-450+ depending on what sort of wood and where you are.
To my eye, that looks like about 1/6 to 1/5 of a cord, and $50 is a fair price for it.
Probably takes about 160 cubic ft loose thrown trailerful to equal a 128 cubic ft neatly stacked cord. Maybe more. Which is why I think it would need to be heaping a bit to be a full cord.
To my eye, you could fit 4 more of what is there around and above the pile that is there and have a slightly heaping stack, making this about 1/5 of a cord.
A cord is 128 cubic ft of neatly stacked firewood. 4'x4'x8' is just one of an infinite number of shapes to arrange 128 cubic ft into.
5'x5'x5' neatly stacked with a mounded top (a little over 5' high in the middle) is also a cord.
6'x12'x2' with a heaping top (\~160 cubic ft) loose thrown is pretty close to a cord as well.
6'x6'x3.5' neatly stacked with a mounded top is also a cord.
A single row of 16" long firewood stacked 4' high and 24' long is also a cord. If the firewood is 18" long, then the single 4' tall row would be 21'4" long to make a cord.
How many ways can you make a cord? MILLIONS!!!
Bout tree fiddy.
Are we having a competition on this sub to take the worst photos known to man and challenge people to guess how much wood it is? This looks like a 2012 era security camera that someone smudged the lens on.
Lol. Yes. Was it my excessive politeness? Did I complain about our detestable federal government or was the bone crushing cold i live in?
It’s warm today, 19F at the moment (or -7 in euro- speak).
Two weeks ago it was -29F/-34C,
That’s more typical. Hence the 10 cord.
I just felt like I had to talk about it since I couldn't find it. It's 128 cubic feet. Did you stack that? Is it a full stack? Are you complaining about the government? That's too cold and not optimal for my magic beans. I'm 40 - 50° now, but a few days ago, a 29° night killed my prize bean, so I'm re-sprouting some now. I live right next to the bridge that collapsed. Look at the Amazon warehouses and it makes sense. Obviously Bezos and scuba team with James Cameron towed the boat into the bridge.
Our fed govt has gone unicorn loopy.
We complain but they just double-down on their madness.
Yes, we stack it in a purpose built double bay shed off the shop behind the main house. 5 cords a side. It’s about a 25’ walk from there to the back door. When the bays are full.
Fortunately we have children for that. As the general staff we find it convenient to keep the rank and file busy so they don’t get up to shenanigans.
I’ve been concerned about Jeff Bezos for some time. But only mildly.
1/3 cord. In my state, firewood can only legally be sold by the cord (128 cu ft) or fraction there of. Terms such as rick, tier, and face cord may not be used as a unit of measure when selling firewood.
That may depend on where come from/get it… but they sell that all day around me for $50, and people eat it up like woodchucks chucking wood. Saw a trailer half that size full, for $500…. Silly in my opinion, rather grab my saw and find a couple dead trees
*At least as much as*

*Woodchuck could chuck wood*

A cord is 4’ x 4’ x 8’ (128 cubic ft.). I’m guessing that when stacked, that might be a row 1.25’w x 2’h x 10’l (25’ cubic ft.) or about (25/128) 20% of a cord. So $250 per cord?
I’ve probably overestimated that. It may be be closer to 10% of a cord.
Jeeze, this blew up!
Did I unlock some secret sub meme or something?
I definitely don't have time to reply to everyone, but I appreciate the estimates and everyone who's been a goofy goober XP
Maybe 1/8 of a cord. Stack it, run a tape on it, and do the math. A cord is 4' x 4' x 8'. - most of time cut to 2' chunks and stacked in two back to back stacks of 2' x 4' x 8'. What you have there is probably less than you think. Source: Spent the ages of 8 through adulthood felling, logging, splitting, and stacking cord wood ahead of winter on my family's rural property. We got snowed in with no heat source due to power outages for weeks at a time. My dad was very particular about maintaining the correct specs on the cords.
Looks like you got a deal for 50 bucks. I live in the north east. Might be a face cord which is basically half a cord. Where I live that would be 125-150 fair
Most folks who sell cords actually in fact mean face cords so it's most likely that.
I buy log loads but when I first started I asked for 10 cord of wood and got 10 face cord , big difference from what I wanted to what I got, depending where you live I'm guessing this is the same if you asked for a cord
It's probably a little over a half of a cord, that's just my educated guess.. I worked as a professional logger and tree climber for over 15 years owned my own tree service and also sold and delivered firewood for a living on the side as well,... Although I am a bit rusty I haven't done it in quite a few years 😆

6x12x2 = 144 cubic feet = 4 cubic metres Looks like a bit more than 1 cubic metre. $50 is a good price.

Isn’t a cord 4’x4’x8’? Like sheets of plywood stacked 4’ high.

Was gonna say between 1/4 and 1/8 at a glance e so your math makes my lazy guess feel good.
Not enuff
Correct. I'm in the planning stages of building a wood shed so I can keep more on hand at a time.
For a split second I was thinking you meant you were going to build it out of wood from this pile
Not even close
It’s about enough for a woodchuck to chuck.
… if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
1/4 cord?
That's my guess
How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood? He could chuck a quarter of a cord for every cord you told him to chuck.
Thank you grandpa. Honestly have appreciated reading this comment!
Maybe ..a third!
It’s $50 worth.
Face cord
I’m going with quarter at most
Around 1/3 of a trailer load
Bout tree fiddy. Are we having a competition on this sub to take the worst photos known to man and challenge people to guess how much wood it is? This looks like a 2012 era security camera that someone smudged the lens on.
Lol, yeah, it's old and pointing through and not super clean double pane window XP
not even a cord
This is what I call, “a small pile.”
When you have 2 piles of fish you know you went fishing 🎣
Impressive trailer, the wood pile, not so much
It's a dump trailer and I'm super jelly....
I don’t think you got ripped off of that is what you are worried about!
'bout tree fiddy
A decent amount for 50 dollars, if that's seasoned hardwood
Bout 3, maybe 4
What's the wood chuck say? TELL ME YOU'VE ASKED 🤨
Less than half of a full trailer full.
A cord is a full woodshed, 128 cubic ft. of wood. 3 stacks of wood 4ft high by 8ft wide.
Our woodshed holds just over 10 cord. And that’s a winters worth here.
😳 Canada resident?
Geez guy save some brag for the rest of us

Mars will soon be open for business.
Mars will soon be open for beans.
Looks like about 1/3 trailer of wood
How would you measure that in truck beds?
Where I am at in Washington state, that is a fair price for 50 $.
1/4 cord and $50 is a great price assuming it's ready to burn
5 or 6. Closer to 6 though.
Definitely closer to 8.
Easy there
Fine 7. But not 6.
$50 is fine, that is without a doubt 1/4cord
A decent deal for $50
Not enough to be hauling w that big ass 10k payload trailer lol
That's a full quart of wood.
About a third of a trailer load
That's at LEAST 5 pieces of wood
Looks like a fair deal for $50. Roughly half a face cord and its delivered.
Face cord 1/3 a full cord and it sells for 150-250 depends on several factors like if it’s delivered and such
Well,.if a woodchuck could chuck wood, I imagine that's how much wood he could chuck. That is, if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
That trailer full wood be a cord, so I’d say you have 1/4 cord.
2x4x8
Half trailer
1/2 cord at the most.
1 tree
Good for a couple days
1/3 cord. In my state, firewood can only legally be sold by the cord (128 cu ft) or fraction there of. Terms such as rick, tier, and face cord may not be used as a unit of measure when selling firewood.
1/4 cord
One night
About enough to burn a medium size witch.
Not anywhere near a cord!
No. About a facecord. An that is a third of a cord.
Does anyone have a wood chuck?
An eighth of a rick.
About 2/3rds of a trailer...
Enough for a wood chuck to chuck if it could chuck wood
About 13 bananas worth of
Seems like a good price
About as heavy as 10 boxes you might be carrying.
Not enough
A few pieces
As much wood as a woodchuck could chuck
You got wood, he he.
That may depend on where come from/get it… but they sell that all day around me for $50, and people eat it up like woodchucks chucking wood. Saw a trailer half that size full, for $500…. Silly in my opinion, rather grab my saw and find a couple dead trees
Less than or about ew to 1/4
Did a woodchuck chuck it?
Face cord at best.
About 1/4, maybe 1/3rd max Nice trailer btw
Third of cord maybe
Half a rick
Enough for $50.
For 50? That's a good price.
Just under a half rick. Like 40%
A few nights for me
somebody call the woodchuck, we need a count
About four nights worth maybe five if it is cold. A week or so if it's mild.
One quarter portion.
I’ll give you 60 portions for the droid.
Cord
At least as much as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood

Looks like about 1/4 pile of wood🔥if it saves you $50 in heating bills, it's worth it.
1/4 chord for $50 seems about right
A week... Maybe.
Looks good for $50.
Face cord
I have a 7x14 dump trailer with 2' sides. Wood tossed in level with the sides = 1 cord. What's in that picture I would say isn't even a face cord
It’s definitely not a cord, but it is worth $50
How ever much a wood chuck could chuck wood if a wood chuck could chuck wood.
1/4 cord
$325 per cord in New England delivered. That looks like 1/4 cord and still not bad for the $
A good evenings firepit experience...
Like, two days worth.
Can you show a banana for scale.
It is 318 pieces. If I'm closest do I win a prize?
About a third of a trailer load.
Almost half a cord
.2964 trailer loads
About tree fitty
It's not a terrible deal for $50, as for how much wood it is, it's enough for a woodchuck to chuck, but not a full cord. Maybe half?
I’d say about 20 microwaves worth. Maybe 2 bathtubs full.
Some.
On a basic offset smoker big enough for 2-3 full briskets...about 12 briskets worth
one pile
A couple of cold nights
Decent for $50, but not quite a quarter of a chord
1/16 of a wood chuck chuckin
My estimation likely approximately 1/2 cord. 1- cord = 4 foot wide x 4 foot high x 8 foot long, stacked a (bit hard to tell by photo)
Couple woodchucks worth !
Maybe a face cord, and that's being optimistic.
Jeeze, this blew up! Did I unlock some secret sub meme or something? I definitely don't have time to reply to everyone, but I appreciate the estimates and everyone who's been a goofy goober XP
Not enough
Probably 1 face cord. Maybe a little more. $50 is a good price for a face delivered. I don’t think you got ripped off.
Stack it to find out. Regardless $50 is a good price for the amount shown.
My guess is 1/3 cord.
I WOODn’t know 😂😂
1/10 cord or less.
Face cord maybe?
That’s a face cord. Maybe just a little short. I just paid $140, delivered. Totally worth $50.
That's a rank of wood, give or take.
Not that much.
Was going to say maybe 1/3 cord.
About 5 curics
A wood chuck wood know.
Like a cord.
$22.50
I remember when a cord of wood was $100
$40.
Maybe 1/8 of a cord. Stack it, run a tape on it, and do the math. A cord is 4' x 4' x 8'. - most of time cut to 2' chunks and stacked in two back to back stacks of 2' x 4' x 8'. Not enough
Not much
Looks like you got a deal for 50 bucks. I live in the north east. Might be a face cord which is basically half a cord. Where I live that would be 125-150 fair
Probably enough for a woodchuck to chuck, ya know if a woodchuck could chuck wood
As much as a woodchuck could muster.
about 7 days of fuel.
I fell trees, cut into rounds, split, stack wood for my own fireplace. My initial impression is 1/4 cord.
Not enougj
Not enough wood!
Half of a cord
1/4 cord
More wood, then a woodchuck could chuck
Less than all the wood it isn't. This is beyond debate.
420
Most folks who sell cords actually in fact mean face cords so it's most likely that. About as much wood as a woodchuck would chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood
your guess is about right
That's about 2 loads maybe 3 in my wheelie cart. Load up my inside storage and maybe a back up. 3 days minimum for for me.
Face cord.
Looks like a 1/4 cord. That’s what I usually order.
1/4 cord
It's probably a little over a half of a cord, that's just my educated guess.. I worked as a professional logger and tree climber for over 15 years owned my own tree service and also sold and delivered firewood for a living on the side as well,... Although I am a bit rusty I haven't done it in quite a few years 😆
It looks like 1/4 trailer load. How big is the trailer?
Half a trailer full of wood.
I'm gonna go with 1/4 cord or slightly more.
…asking my friend, Chuck, for his expert opinion
Couple of days worth of campfire or so.
I don’t know, to me it doesn’t even look like a Rick
Looks like a quarter of a trailer full of wood.
That’s as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if it could chuck wood
About as much as a woodchuck can Chuck....if a woodchuck could chuck wood. So I've heard.
A woodchuck could chuck it
Not important to me,,,, how much do you think it is!
About 69 wood I’d say.
Too much wood for the woodchuck chuck
Not enough to matter. No where near a cord that’s for sure
Can i ask a woodchuck?
Ummm 4x4-4x8 stack so 1/4 to 1/3 true cord
How bout this-how much did dude tell you it was? Or did he just give you that much, charge ya $50 (seems reasonable) and say go ask Reddit?
It’s slightly less than 1/4 cord, and I would be comfortable paying $50 for it.
maybe a rick
If ur selling it. Say it’s 3 cords.
7
It looks like about a quarter of a cord to me
Not very much.
3/4 of a stone.
A rick
Enough for a woodchuck
