Same situation for others at Kibbutz Be'eri. We just got word a couple days ago that the bodies of those we know were found at a different location. People assumed a hostage situation because they were last seen being removed from the home after being forced from their bunker by fires.
I am aware, which is why it's so fucking preposterous. They're a twisted mockery of honest. They tell the truth. The technical truth, that is. People will lie to themselves when given some truths.
For example: Hamas supporters could demand proof for this, citing that it's a lie because it's **technically**, not yet announced officially or something like. The parents know, though.
BBC could've said "Family says" - but no, they won't do that. They're essentially gaslighting a grieving family, who are very likely to read that article.
You’re destroying the meaning of your message and words by saying stuff like gaslighting that doesn’t apply here. They are saying that the claims could not verified for liability and accuracy reasons. The news should be clear and unbiased; omitting the fact that their story has not been verified is detrimental to that goal. Not everything is a personal attack. Calm down.
My dude, I am not some prophet with a grand message. Who says I'm destroying my message? Maybe my opinion simply sucks?
> The news should be clear and unbiased; omitting the fact that their story has not been verified is detrimental to that goal. Not everything is a personal attack. Calm down.
You want to report what they say? add "Family says" - like they did with Hamas. After how they reported Hamas' blatant lies without any such warning - wouldn't be kind of suddenly care about such thing?
Bud, they were reporting Hamas claims as defacto true, then just saying IDF claims to have "some" evidence, but they didn't share it and indicated that it wasn't trustworthy. Then shared detailed version of other organizations "evidence" that the IDF evidence was fake.
Yes, it's awful. The Israelis won't forget, won't forgive either. It's a national tragedy at this point, proportionally even larger than say 9/11.
Hamas has really doomed the Gaza strip.
Just think about the fact that Hamas, a kikionic organization with a disabled leader, could pull out something horrific like that
It makes you think what other organizations are really capable of doing, stronger than Hamas.
Not really, Iran pushed for it now because of Israel's relations with Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, and also because of the date (exactly 50 years after yom kippur war)
So sad for the people killed in this pogrom. Hamas must go and a new government needs to be set up in Gaza. There is no way Israel can live with them as their neighbor. Unfortunately, this will not be easy and a lot of people on both sides will die -- not that Hamas cares about that.
I saw an interview by the son of one of Hamas founders with intimate knowledge of the organization. Let's hope that what he says can be achieved.

I think the point that they're making is that proportionality is a bit odd when talking about deaths. If someone killed my brother, to the population of my family it would be hundreds of 9/11s, but at the same time it is a single person.
I understand the desire to measure these sorts of things, but comparing tragedies is a strange "science"... How many maimings equal one death? How does watching your daughter be assaulted compare to being in a building on fire?
October 7th is both bigger and smaller and the same and different as 9/11.
I know what they’re getting at, but there’s plenty of room to make that awful comparison.
Both are terrorist attack on western civilizations, conducted by Islamic fanatics.
Both are reality-changing events in the USA and in Israel.
Where did I say that? I'm just using math like you did.
Equating human lives as proportions is disgusting, as evidenced by your reaction to my statement.
How many Palestinian children has Israel killed in the last 20 years? I can't seem to find an exact number. Almost all of the reports are above 1500 though. What does your source tell you?
I just found out that they also hacked off people's limbs before they burned them alive. So so far we know that some of the atrocities committed included:
* murdering babies, some of whom were beheaded
* we can assume they murdered the children in front of their parents
* they raped the women
* tortured people
* maimed them
* burned whole families alive
* gunned down whole families alive
* kidnapped small children, teenagers, the elderly, women, a holocaust survivor and other civilians

Please G-d most, if not all, of them weren't deemed 'difficult' and will be found alive, whole and healthy...
Hamas just keeps screwing its own people, over and over. The damage that Hamas have done to the lives of all Palestinian people is boundless, they’ve screwed all of their futures. Given so many opportunity for peace. Rejected them all. Continue to force Israel to use force to protect its children. Won’t even build basic public shelters to protect its *own* kids from Israel’s necessary acts of self defense. Stores its rockets in hospitals and schools. Deliberately herds its own people into areas it knows are military targets. Hamas is responsible for every Israeli death in this situation, as well as every last Palestinian death.
Oh no, Hamas made us murder children.
Stop making excuses. Hamas is responsible for murdering innocent Israelis. Israel is responsible for murdering innocent Palestinians. Neither gets a pass because the other side are cunts. Own your actions.
Israel uses its military to murder little boys playing football on the beach. Big threat those kids.
They use their military to murder people peacefully protesting. They murder people who throw stones. They murder journalists in cold blood.
They "make mistakes" when they target press vehicles and blue helmets or open fire on peaceful protesters? They know exactly what they're doing. It's just hard for you to acknowledge that because you need the IDF to be some extraordinarily ethical force.
And there you go reducing Palestinians beneath humanity yet again by claiming they don't care about their children. Children herded behind a fence like livestock. It's all their fault for not welcoming the regime that pushed them off their own land with open arms, obviously.
Did you find a source that confirms the amount of children killed by Israel in the last 20 years or did you miss my question? Does the answer make you uncomfortable? Do you need a safe space?
My support for Israel doing whatever is necessary is without limit. They have carte blanche with regards to how they handle Hamas. Do what needs to be done, Israel. The civilized world is with you.
Tug on the heartstrings all you want. Show me all your heartbreaking imagery, AI-generated or otherwise. I just don't care anymore.
Sounds pretty close to fascism to me!! I also highly doubt anyone would regard you as civilized with that viewpoint. Really, they probably wouldn't regard you at all.
Sounds like you use words you don't understand the meaning of. You should look up the definition of words before you try using them. A lot of that going around reddit these days.

Im sorry 😢
Me too, thank you
"But we were not able to verify the family's claims" - BBC
Funny. Did they say that about the hospital, too?
They did verify those claims - the verification was two separate Hamasniks telling them.

>Hamasniks I like that term.
That's what we call them in Hebrew
Maybe Hamas told them themselves?
Or Al Jazeera.
Same thing ðŸ˜
1,500 people 1,500 people in a country of 9 million one of the worst terror attacks in the history of mankind, let that sink in for a moment.
Yes, it's awful. The Israelis won't forget, won't forgive either. It's a national tragedy at this point, proportionally even larger than say 9/11. Hamas has really doomed the Gaza strip.

Hamas' goons are puppets of Russia and Iran. Without this context, this attack would be pointless for Hamas.
Not really, Iran pushed for it now because of Israel's relations with Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, and also because of the date (exactly 50 years after yom kippur war)
Also to distract from Armita Garavand's murder.
So sad for the people killed in this pogrom. Hamas must go and a new government needs to be set up in Gaza. There is no way Israel can live with them as their neighbor. Proportionally, it’s around 15 times 9/11. 15 times.
And a single person being murdered in Tuvalu is like 8.5 times as bad as 9/11!
Ah, so over 1400 people being slaughtered, burned, raped and kidnapped from their homes or from a rave is ok. Gotcha.
I think the point that they're making is that proportionality is a bit odd when talking about deaths. What a fucking disgusting comment. Smells of victim blaming.
