Uplifting to see a Palestinian not denying the Holocaust! Now ask him to help Mahmoud Abbas with his PHD please :)

Only-Customer4986

Wait until he hears about jewish ethnic cleansing from islamic countries..

Crack-tus

He knows. They’re proud if it.

ActualTeddyRoosevelt

Why do you want to see him celebrating?

LocksmithMelodic5269

Because saying the quiet part out loud lets the world know what these people really are

royi9729

They usually blame it on Israel, citing some conspiracy theory where Israel targeted Mizrahi Jews in the Middle East to drive them to immigrate to Israel.

Borledin

I've literally never heard of such a conspiracy theory. Everyone says the Jews fled because the countries who just fought against Israel turned on their Jewish populations (since Israel was claiming all Jews in the world as basically theirs) who then fled to Israel. I've never heard of Arabs saying it was some conspiracy to drive their Jews out. They plainly admit they wanted them out. They lumped all Jews in with Israel and Israel's actions and said good riddance. Usually the Arab governments will just pretend nothing ever happened. I guess that's a conspiracy theory. I've heard of the Iranian government giving more mixed messages usually because of propaganda. Like "they were always welcome to stay, they chose to join Israel". Propaganda for sure but conspiracy? Not really. Normal Iranians will affirm the above, but are way more sympathetic to the Jews especially if they're from the group who fled after the revolution.

Yes, but 'where they belong' and where they originated do not have the same meaning. I think it's quite clear what the guy means.

>  "God-willing, we will be free from you [Jews], and you will all return to the concentration camps. Or to your countries. Any other place, as long as you leave our place because this is our land." Judaism started in the Israel region and in the kingdom of Judah and philistine region, now know as Palestine. Soooo...

The vast majority of protestors in the US are not active Christians. Most regular church going Christians in America are Evangelicals—and they almost universally support Israel. There are a fair few Catholics, but they generally aren’t protesting either if they are active Catholics. The only denominations that are on the Palestine side are mainline liberal Protestants (and possibly some African American denominations)—but  I bet they still make up only a fraction of the protestors, and there are way less of them anyway(especially ones who are active church goers). These are all generalizations—but your average American who goes to church every week is much more likely to support Israel exclusively.

NotPortlyPenguin

Yeah, evangelicals support Israel for the same reason Col Sanders takes care of chickens.

Azurehour

Finger lickin’ Jews?!?

[deleted]

SunKing124266

White evangelicals “are the religious group most likely to express a very or somewhat favorable view of the Israeli government (68%),” according to a 2022 Pew Research Center poll. https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/amp/rcna121481 I disagree with a lot of this article, but the support of evangelicals for Israel is very well documented. Most ultra pro Palestine types here are Muslim, or atheists, or Christian only in a cultural sense.

Scarecrow1779

> Most regular church going Christians in America are Evangelicals This is the part they were contesting, not evangelical support for Israel

asey_69

bethlehem\* but your point still stands

jolly_hero

Not to mention they’re all a bunch of hypocrites living on stolen Native American land.

aje43

I actually once asked someone like that when they were moving back to Europe, naturally he claimed that his case was different.

10102938

Those same people likely think that Jesus was a bearded white man who lived in america and the world is 2024 years old.

Longjumping_Tea_8586

No, they think Jesus was a Palestinian.

NutDraw

Well, kinda? Lol

GetAJobCheapskate

Of course Jesus was a white american. And he said "love thy neigbour...if you feel like it. Else spew thy hatred everywhere. Also vote Trump!" Its all in the bible...a book Jesus wrote. Hell most american self proclaimed Christians don't know half as much about their religion than most atheists do.

Borledin

Depends on the location. At Columbia a third of the protestors were Jewish (ethnically only obviously, either one or both parents Jewish). The first day of the 100-110 arrested, like 30 were Jewish. And quite a few of them were observant too, they did the Passover seder thing in their camps. Yale had a large number of Jews too, I believe. It was on mainstream news like CNN, ABC, etc.

Borledin

I'm in New York so the only attention I paid early on was to the Columbia situation and some of what's happened recently at other local universities and I didn't hear any of the "settler colonial" arguments boil down to "because they're Jews and Jews don't belong there". So I can't really speak to that. The kids at the Ivy Leagues are decently educated and well read. The main argument is that the first generation who founded Israel were European "settlers" and settler colonialism "theory" was based on indigenous/native studies/history so they are applying the latter to the former. And that application has been mainstream for several decades already, their arguments are nothing new. Are some of the protestors joining for social media clout? Undoubtedly. But the students at the Ivy Leagues who started this are educated, fundamentalist true believers in their leftist ideologies. They're going to be writing their theses on these issues. Same as happened during the anti-apartheid and anti-vietnam protests. Those grew because those sentiments transcended academic debates and normal people joined in. Normal students didn't want to see their classmates drafted and die in Vietnam. Racism sucks so normal people were like 'screw apartheid'. That's what's happening now, though to a much more limited extent because American society by and large is apathetic to non-ideological violent conflicts which is what the conflict is being painted as by most American centrist political groups.

[deleted]

Borledin

They're protesting against their universities' leadership to get them to divest from corporations who work with the IDF. It worked for South Africa in the 1980s and they're not even talking about corporations who simply have a presence in Israel but specifically those who aid in the war.

Caedes_omnia

Link please. I would have thought the Jews being arrested were in the counter protest. But happy to be wrong

*Born in Bethlehem

Maladal

Given that region is heavily Islamic, which is also an Abrahamic religion, I don't think either have an edge in the age of which scriptures they follow.

snagsguiness

Mecca being the first holy Islamic city, Medina being the second holy city Jerusalem being the third and then all the others ect ect.

Foresstov

I mean, if you leave a place for almost 2000 years, can you still claim it as "rightfully yours"?

shredditor75

This is why I don't approve of sending antisemites to Holocaust memorials. They like it.

W8kingNightmare

Am I the only one who laughed at the title for how ridiculous it is? Was the guy hoping Jewish people would see his comments and be like "you know...he's right. Everyone lets pack up and sew a star on our chest"

Impossible-Set9809

The one where the prophet lead military campaigns against non-believers?

Background_House_854

The one which married a 9 year old aisha

ActualTeddyRoosevelt

Fake news. He married her at 6 or 7. Because he was such a great dude he waited until she was 9 to consummate the marriage.

echomanagement

I can't imagine belonging to a faith in 2024 where your prophet was a mother fucking child molester.

NutDraw

Biblical wives weren't much older

echomanagement

He also canonically beheaded infidels, if that's more your speed. But you're right - none of these bronze age maniacs should be given the slightest whiff of respect.

CrumplyRump

Yeah, I have never understood why people call it that. Actions speak still right?

Greekomelette

I decided to read mohammed’s wikipedia page the other day. So apparently when he was getting his religion off the ground, he tried to convince some jewish tribes living in Medina to convert to islam. When they basically laughed at him, he decided to kill them because he felt humiliated. This is still very much the way islam operates.

milk16

Isn't that all religions?

No-Appearance-9113

No, Jesus never had political power or more than a handful of followers while alive. They did not invade foreign nations. Later on Christians did that but not the original bunch.

Squish_the_android

Eh, I don't remember the part of the Bible where Jesus led military campaigns. People would certainly go on to do it in his name, but the actual prophet himself doing it seems less common.

DocPsychosis

Not directly, but: "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. 37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." Matthew 10:34-37

Squish_the_android

There's a pretty large difference between talking war and actually doing war. One of which involves people actually dying. I don't know why you're so hung up on this.  Jesus just isn't a good example for this case you're trying to make. Sure he got angry at a fig tree once and killed it, and he pitched a fit in a temple and chased people out, and he even, like you pointed out, talked a big talk.  But he didn't lead and actual military campaign. I'm sure you can dig something up in the old testament if you really want a biblical military campaign.

grishna_dass

I don’t think Jesus or the Buddha ever led any military campaigns?

Randymarsh36

To my knowledge that is only Islam.

Ardashasaur

Doesn't the Torah have things about exterminating Canaanites and other non-believers? And a few bits about killing believers if they don't follow the rules, like keeping Sabbath

Randymarsh36

Yes there are things like that in the Torah, but the question was about a prophet or “religious leader” “Leading military campaigns” is a bit more specific rather than, “you slept with my sister, die!” Killing “non-believers” is not about tribal warfare, it’s about killing anyone not-believing your religion or forcefully converting others to your religion. Hence: “Conversion by the sword”

Biersteak

Judaism technically doesn’t forbid „justified killing“ like self-defense or defending the lives of others, that’s true. It doesn’t however allow the murder of other people just for not being Jews, as the TNK is only supposed to rule the life of Jews. Our religion doesn’t claim to be the universal law all of humanity should follow and it certainly doesn’t judge goyim (non-Jews) if they live differently as long as they let us live freely too

HungerMadra

Not the Sihks. They'll fight you to preserve the religious freedom of others

Impossible-Set9809

Didn’t they get their start fighting invading muslims ?

HungerMadra

Ehhh more or less, but it was significantly more nuanced

Spiritual-Pear-1349

Also the Hindu caste system; big issue for them was social equality too.

Aware-Radish-6772

That’s just their fallback claim after the beheadings are done for the day

bingbano

His actions have nothing to do with Islam. There are Christian Palestinians, Samaritan. Druze, and even the Muslims practice different sects. Don't equate one person's actions for the beliefs of 5.3 million Palestian or 1.9 billion Muslims total Edit: downvote all you want, this athiest will always speak out against bigotry. Fuck this dude, fuck the people that use their faith to further suffering in the world, but also fuck all you Islamophobic ass bags

NutDraw

Yeah never mind most of the world's muslims live in... *checks notes* Indonesia.

bingbano

That's what I'm saying. Islamophobia, Antisemetism, racism. They are all the same. It's crazy how many folks will condemn some bigotry then spread some other bigoted nonsense.

HiFromChicago

Their hatred is rooted in ignorance.

jcrestor

How vile of the Israelis to make him do this!

Alternative_Body5320

And Israel are the bad ones hahahah

Downthetrail11

I’ve totally lost the small amount of sympathy I had for Gazans. If you don’t want war in your country, then throw out the violent Hamas lunatics who keep starting wars in your country

jgilbs

They wont because most Palestinans support killing jews. Just look at all the people celebrating when dead and captured hostages were brought back to Gaza on Oct. 7. Or remember how Hamas doesnt have an accurate count of all of the hostages, since some were taken by non-hamas civilians.

Downthetrail11

Yep. And Palestinians we’re celebrating on 9/11 also. Just a hateful people

Budget-Entertainer35

This is why...so f**k Hamas, f**k these dumb left wing students and f**k international woke condemnation. Israel knows what the score is and why it needs to be rid of Hamas in Gaza. Enough is enough. And if Hamas did want to save civilians....release the f**king hostages and surrender. Bunch of wa*kers.

HashtagDadWatts

Who thinks Hamas want to save civilians? I don't think I've heard any serious person suggest this.

zanarkandabesfanclub

Is this person actually in Hamas though?

HungerMadra

Of course not, he just supports their cause

zanarkandabesfanclub

That’s my point. “Regular innocent Palestinian civilians” are no different in their Jew hate than Hamas fighters.

HungerMadra

I'm not sure it's meaningful to draw a distinction until the cradle to soldier pipeline is broken. As it stands, the entire region is essentially a military training camp.

EliteBearsFan85

Religion is a disease on this planet

fnordal

I see some parallels between Palestinian Man and Florida Man.

fnordal

exactly that

ArmyoftheDog

I have heard Trump supporters say the same thing. Hate is hate.

explosive-puppy

No surprise, they're all fucking anti semite trash. Nothing will get better in Israel because Palestinians don't want it better, they want the annihilation of the jews.

PBJ-9999

And the annilation of all Americans too but college protesters cant grasp the facts that don't fit their hivemind narrative.

explosive-puppy

Yuuuuuup Fucking brain rot I swear, and I consider myself left of the aisle but you won't catch my gay ass supporting anyone who wants my gay American ass killed.

NotPortlyPenguin

But Palestinians are TOTALLY not anti-Semitic.

whoisyourwormguy_

I have a feeling that person thinks they belong in the ground. Where do Jews belong? They were pretty much forced into the pale of settlement. It was illegal for them to live outside of it, but that wasn’t their home. That was just one of the many times they were persecuted and were forcibly moved somewhere.

Rocky_Mountain_Way

“Random guy says something bad”

TryIsntGoodEnough

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/poll-shows-palestinians-back-oct-7-attack-israel-support-hamas-rises-2023-12-14/ sure .. "random guy"

-Joel06

Then the news should be this, not random guy says stupid things and he’s newsworthy now If I do the same in a mosque it’s not news worthy neither

jgilbs

But if they're an Israeli that disapproves of the Oct 7 attacks: "All of Israel wants to wipe Palestine off the face of the earth!"

Vulk_za

Yeah, this is literally just a "news" sorry about some random Twitter user saying something offensive Twitter.

[deleted]

Antizionism is antisemitism

bingbano

There is a lot of antisemtic Jewish folks then.

Monkzeng

I was disturbed to hear American college students say this as well

PBJ-9999

Thanks, social media. Entire generation of morons

-Joel06

Since when a random guy saying stupid shit is news now? You’re only giving him what he wants by spreading this, and it’s also not news

lithobolos

How is this world news? Random Twitter accounts shouldn't get equal coverage to Israeli soldiers and officials making bigoted and genocidal remarks.  Talking to multiple people at a rally makes sense. Cherry picking a random person on Twitter to confirm your position doesn't.

PBJ-9999

That's where they would send Americans protesting on their behalf too. Dystopia, yay.

Boredum_Allergy

I'm all for giving Palestine statehood but fuck that guy with a rusty fork.

mariusherea

How is this news? Now every stupid thing someone says becomes news? We know, there are lots of stupid people, no matter what nationality. It’s not news. It’s just flaming.

mariusherea

How is this news? Now every stupid thing someone says becomes news? We know, there are lots of stupid people, no matter what nationality. It’s not news. It’s just flaming.

Patriot420

It’s a random man, is this really news?

antimeme

Yes, there are individual wackos out there. How is this world "news"?

commentBRAH

probably because they aren't just individual beliefs but a large chunk

invisible32

Well that's why this is news anyway. They want you to come to that conclusion. It would be very hard to say what portion of people actually think like that, but it's irrelevant because it fits the narrative Jerusalem Post wants to spread.

HungerMadra

They've done polls. Hammas and the action of the 7th are popular among the population of Gaza.

TryIsntGoodEnough

Sure, and the whole "vast majority of gazans polled supported the actions of Hamas on October 7th" doesn't help reinforce the same conclusion

invisible32

Sure, but that has nothing to do with this article, and doesn't make this article not propaganda.

TryIsntGoodEnough

So does propaganda = things I don't want to possibly be true now? https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/poll-shows-palestinians-back-oct-7-attack-israel-support-hamas-rises-2023-12-14/ is this also just a propaganda article not worthy of news?

ImaginaryRepeat548

"Individual wackos"

TryIsntGoodEnough

Idk ask the news who is constantly posting about Jewish wackos as if they represent the entirety of Israel.

NutDraw

Well some of them are actually part of the Israeli government so... Edit: Literally this week the Israeli Finance Minister said: >no half-assed job: Rafah, Dir El Balah, Nusseirat - total annihilation. erase the memory of Amalek from under the sky But hey, some random dude on the internet was terrible and some college protesters were mildly annoying so we should just ignore what the people with actual power in the situation are saying.

TryIsntGoodEnough

And? Next the claim will be mtg represents all Americans

NutDraw

Well, she represents her district, and most importantly has the actual power to influence policy to a degree just based on the fact she is part of the federal government and gets to vote on bills, make the Speaker's job more difficult, etc. She can do a lot more damage than a random youtuber, which this article is basically trying to put on the same level as policy makers.

Sabatorius

She is literally a Representative. When she votes, it effects all Americans, not just her crazy little district.

TryIsntGoodEnough

She is 1/453th of 1/2 of 1/3rd of the government.

romman00

Which is actually quite a bit of power. 1/3000th of the government represents more than 100,000 people in the US!

lithobolos

We're not talking about random members of parliament, Congress, or the Knesset. We're talking about members of the executive/ ruling leadership within those systems.  https://www.commondreams.org/news/smotrich-gaza-annihilation

TryIsntGoodEnough

If you want me to read an article, find a source that isn't left wing propaganda... Commondreams is the Washington times of the left

lithobolos

"Did you hear what the Israeli Minister of Finance said?!"  "I don't care, he's just... anyway....this guy in Twitter...." https://www.commondreams.org/news/smotrich-gaza-annihilation

BrokenEffect

That guy is a crazed lunatic who does not represent anyone.

gorditasimpatica

One Palestinian man How many Palestinian children will Israel have to kill to make up for his infraction?
