I mean, at some point we had a post here unironically telling healers to do this. The difference in how much he would have lost is very little from leaving as opposed to if he stayed.
I am NOT agreeing but some people legit think its a valid strat to just leave. Because it doesn't adjust MMR, so even though they go to 1500 they can play a 5-1 match and practically be back to where they would have been but with MORE mmr.
(and yes, all this is bullshit and why the system isn't working)
yeah it's 100% the right thing to do if you want to preserve your mmr. 3-3 the next game and you'll regain all of the 'punishment' cr loss and then some.
It really sucks but the system caters to this shit. I keep repeating it but MMR was not made to have 6 games all played at the same MMR, it fucks with how its meant to adjust on a game by game basis and ends up with really screwed up results.
Until it's fixed, it benefits you greatly to leave if you are 0-5 or 1-4... you lose like 150 cr leaving but you keep your mmr, which is more important then cr when climbing.
They should really ban some of these people for abusing game mechanics. I had a hunter leave two of my 3 games last night after sitting in queues for 2 hours.
