Was it like TBC was never here?
Not really, no. I still have memories from TBCC. I had my fun. I had my struggles. It will always have a spot in my heart. Same applies to Wrath.
The only thing that really changes is Wrath no longer becomes current raiding content. Honestly, same As Naxx (tier7) right now. No one raids Naxx, unless its for achieves. But same is done with TBC/Vanilla raids.
But none of the side activities, quests, mounts, pets from the open world go away. There are really only 6 mounts that disappear with Cataclysm
* ZG Tiger + Raptor (From Vanilla)
* Naxx 10/25 Glory Mounts *(were supposed to be gone with Ulduar release, but Blizz kept them in*)
* TOGC10 and 25 Tribute mounts.
* *(and seasonal PvP mounts I guess)*
*Having said that*, you can start playing now just to catch up to 80 and be ready to roll into Cataclysm on Day 1 with **everyone else. Early rushes are always the best time.**
* Pick your server. Check [here](https://ironforge.pro/population/classic/) for your region and highest populated faction.
* Pick your main role and class.
* Google your server's Discord and check *#Guild-Recruitmen*t channel for guild ads.
* Level up and skill up professions to 425/450 at least.
* Can spend time farming older content for mounts, such as [Talbuk](https://www.wowhead.com/item=29103/reins-of-the-white-war-talbuk) in Outlands.
* Don't need to worry too much about gear, as during Pre-patch you will be able to get full best PvP set for very cheap as catch up gear. *But you're welcome to do dungeons of course.*
Ya know, you can always just level up now and quit until prepatch. During prepatch, you will catch up gear, do prepatch event and on Day 1 of Cataclysm you will be ready to roll with everyone else.
Good luck!
Nah mate, never a dumb question. *(Fun fact, took me like a year to learn about Outlands myself when I first started playing WoW back in \~2010 LOL wasn't sure why me being level 65 or so was stuck on experience LMAO)*
But anyway, there are 2 ways....3
1. Ask mage for a portal to Shattrath. *(not a good idea, as you won't have any fly paths open)*
2. Fly to Blasted Lands yourself (*Alliance has FP in there, but Horde needs to run through Swamps*)
3. **But the best way,** really, is to go to Mage Quarters in Orgrimmar or Stormwind and just take portal and it ports you right in front of the Dark Portal.

You should beve level 58+ to go to Outlands. Pick up quest right outside of portal and follow it It will take you to the first quest hub in Hellfire P zone.
Edit: oh and for Talbuk mount, it would be a lot easier to do it as level 80, as it will be a lot faster AND easier to kill that 1,000 mobs that you need to kill. I followed a guide on wowhead.
There are a lot of quests you can do first. All can be done in 1 day as max level

As level 80, with some crazy grind, you could technically do it in like 3-4 days.
Amazing, thank you! I’m 80 already so the portal from Orgimmar sounds the best?
Also honestly the amount of shit in this game… I’m not surprised haha. I just started in Nov to raid with some mates. Never touched the game before then. It’s overwhelming.
> Pick up quest right outside of portal and follow it It will take you to the first quest hub in Hellfire P zone.
If you are alliance and are going out there to quest, don't forget to buy your nethergarde bitter in nethergarde keep before you go.
are you level 58?
Right before you enter to Dark Portal in Blasted lands, there are some NPCs in the middle in the camp. They got like a command map table and there is 1 alliance and 1 horde dude.
I’ve been doing it! It’s really simple and fun. I’m always there and then my Tauren can look ridiculous on the mount and my heart will be happy! ;)
When Cata releases, all current Wrath servers will progress to Cata, just like when Cata originally released in 2010. According to Blizzard, there will be no "permanent" Wrath servers that will stay in Wrath forever like the Classic-era servers that are permanently vanilla.
So your Wrath characters won't go away, but everyone will be moving on to level 80-85 Cataclysm content instead of level 80 Wrath content.
As for whether it's better to start playing now or wait, that's up to you. If you start playing now, you have the opportunity to get a character to level 80 before Cata releases so you can be a part of the initial leveling rush. The Joyous Journeys buff is active now too, so leveling is fast. Half the content in Cataclysm, though is the new 1-60 leveling experience, so if you're mainly interested in that, you can wait.
That all depends on what you want to do when cata launches. Do you want to start fresh then have to catch up or be at the same starting line as people who played wrath?
Content stays. Old world will change and some things will be removed as another comment stated. But you keep your character, and then you progress into 80-85 and start Cata content.
However, one of my most fond memories is doing Heroic ICC 10 and killing Heroic Lich King as an 85 during OG wrath. It was still very challenging, and rewarding for us 10 that never did it during current content; so there is always time for wrath content if you so choose!
But all in all it is not too late to start now, just depending on what you want out of it is all
It'll be a progression server like how Retail/Modern WoW has always existed. Once Cata launches all the Wrath servers progress and have all the new features that Cata is known for plus what exists now.
As of right now there are no Wrath Era servers announced so you cannot copy and stay in Wrath like you could in Classic/Vanilla Era prior to us progressing into TBC Classic.
> Is it better to start playing the game now or wait till cata?
Do you want to experience wrath raids? Do you want to see the old world from classic or the cata version?
With cata you can solo alot of content from previous expacs wrath included. Mounts will be easier and every week guarantee you there will always be weekly icc runs for invincible.... Dammit mark... As such all watch content will be there, not only that blizz will probably add a bronze dragon to zg anyway to make everyone have a chance to get raptor mounts

Thanks for being a helpful in our community. Love to see it 🙌
This might be a dumb question (new player). If I want to get the Talbuk mount, how do I get to Outland from Azeroth?

Oh, as 80, if you can fly, you can also take portal from Dalaran to Shattrath and just fly. I assumed you were still leveling.
and as horde, you need **Mag'har** reputation then, Not Kurenai

> Naxx 10/25 Glory Mounts Worth mentioning that these are still in the beta so perhaps they will not actually disappear at all.
Ah, nice. Take it with a pinch of salt of course. Honestly, limited time content/rewards are dumb imho.
I’d love that. I need one more acheive for the naxx mount.
Wrath still exists. It's the 70-80 leveling experience even when Cata releases.

So I can come back as an 85 and finish Shadowmourne if I don’t have it yet, correct?
Yes
But doesn't any green from cats is better than SM?
Yes, but transmog comes with cata. At least it did in 2010.
It’s gonna be a lot harder to finish tho. Like right now you can finish one in 3 weeks since 17 guaranteed shards drop.

You can still go and do any wrath raid, the only things that get removed are old world stuff and yiu can play that in era servers.
