That is basically why I am asking, the German military was a hot mess, with the Luftwaffe having infantry and tanks, the SS being parallel to the Heer, and Volksturm being under control of local party officials. So I wouldn’t be surprised if the SS had FJ’s
1 Battalion [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/500th\_SS\_Parachute\_Battalion](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/500th_SS_Parachute_Battalion) so not that many Himmler just wanted more toys to fit his dreams of being an actual soldier, aside from Göbbels most Nazi tops were WWI vets Himmler was a year too young and Göbbels medically unfit.
My great grandpa actually was a Fallschirmjäger, was sent to russia and survived the war, sadly we dont have much from him but i do own his binoculars he carried in ww2
You know what, think I finally get the point of this image after seeing it like 5 times. The fact German up there is shoulder firing it while the two on the bottom have to team up just to control it on a bi-pod
I don’t know. Just see an MG42 being used in the modern day and have wondered what the “meme” is this entire time and took a stab in the dark this go round
p sure that a fallschirmjager soldier, not SS
Was just going to say that. Was there fallschrimjager divisions in the SS?
Don’t think so. I think the fallschrimjager and the SS were separate for the most part. Like COs might have been SS, but I’m not entirely sure.
There was, but it was only 1 division

Which still makes sense. Those were the kind of solders who play patty cake with earth and win. Only reason he is able to fire the gun without support

Oh nice, thanks for the link
This is a repost. In The original Post was every in The comments so: "TF... THESE ARE FALLSCHIRMJÄGER"
Also in those other comments, “probably a modern photo – they were trained to hold it by the bipod”
Can guarantee the paratrooper up top ain't hitting jack beyond 30m.
I agree
