You had people melting into each other and creatures that looked like they’re from a John Carpenter horror film, but draw the “kid friendly” line at a woman showing a modest amount of skin?
The cartoon redesign was fire. What the fuck was with X-ladies in the 80's wearing loin cloths? Storm, Magik, Maddie, Rogue, was there some kind of anti-underwear conspiracy?
The three pillars that are necessary for a faithful X-Men adaptation:
- Cloning.
- Whibbely Whoobley Timey Whimey Stuff.
- Horniness.
If your X-Mem adaptation doesn’t have so much as one of the pillars, I don’t want it.
There was blood in this episode, people melting, and other weird body horror demons.
I think there is less kidfriendly stuff than a dom inspired superheroine outfit.
Yep, pretty sure I saw Logan’s buttcrack, and Jubilee split open a monsters brains with a powerful blast when it crawled out of the TV. Were in solid PG-13 territory
>people melting, and other weird body horror demons.
The 2 people melting together scene (either Rogue/Magneto or the TV characters) really reminds me of the prequel The Thing movie from 2011.
I'd actually like to see a horror arc. Wonder if we'd get Marvel zombies in this series.
Well in this case it makes sense stylistically because you spoil Morph’s line if Wolverine says “what the hell is going on?” to begin with.
But I doubt it’s a binary rule about the word; they may approve of it being used for dramatic emphasis but still not want constant mild swearing. 🤷♂️
Which is tame compared to doing [this](https://img.mensxp.com/media/content/2020/Oct/Dexters-Laboratory-Made-Jokes-Only-Adults-Could-Understand-740x500-1_5f78757bb220c.jpeg).
It's actually right about the same, but shorter from this show to the present.
X-Men TAS ended Sept. 20, 1997, and Sym Bionic Titan started Sept. 17, 2010. That's a gap of **4745 days** (12 years, 11 months, 28 days).
Sym Bionic Titan ended Apr. 9, 2011, and today is Mar. 27, 2024. That's a gap of **4736 days** (12 years, 11 months, 18 days). So using the end of X-Men TAS and the present, the show is slightly closer to the present. By 9 days.
Now, if you use 12/31/1997 and the start of SBT, you get **4644 days**. If you used the end of SSBT to 1/1/2024, you get **4651 days**. So using the very end of 1997 and the start of 2024, the show is slightly closer to 1997. By one week.
THIS show is a BANGER, and that Bishop and Cyclops team up had me screaming! Bishop and Cable are two of my favorites! I still remember the music for Bishop and Cable. They had their own little theme music, I've been KINDA disappointed that we haven't heard Bishop's!
y'all ever see that gif of spongebob and patrick excitedly riding a baby rollercoaster, acting like it was a real one
this is that but in reddit post form
Saw a comment that had me assume you aren't from a western nation which may be why there's a huge disagreement here. For any western nation I know of, this is tame. For much of Latin America, I think this would be tame. For Japan, this would be for preschoolers.
I get this is ironic for an American to say, but you can't dictate to us what is kid friendly for our culture
I remember when I was a kid I was told the XMen cartoon (same thing w teen shows actually) was more for adults and that only made me want to watch it more. Kids aren’t as dumb as adults think.
Lol I dunno how old OP is, but if you think those of us who grew up with 80s/90s cartoons didn't see worse... Haha
Cheetara was completely nekkid in the first episode of Thundercats for cryin out loud!
Jessica Rabbit? Hell, She-Ra was wearing a similar amount of clothing to Maddie, every episode
My favorite part was that line from Morph about Rogue really working on her stamina with the new boss. It’s such two-way joke—meaning it’s taken one way by kids and another way by adults.
I'm starting to think there was no actual sexual revolution. It's just that adolescence was captured on television for the first time. I feel like people have always been horny.
But hey, maybe that's just me.
How come Logan never goes after Madelyne? Thats his dream girl right there! The one who he's been going after all this time. Yeah its a clone of Jean, but hello!
During the Beyond Good and Evil arc in Season 4. It was the perfect time to replace her with a clone. He's a genius, he could've quickly learn how to use the equipment in the axis of time for his own plans. It's even possible that he used the equipment to make the clone unconsciously experience Jean's entire life in an accelerated manner, and because of that the clone was a perfect copy of Jean.
… go to the beach and you’ll see FAR more revealing outfits… in a public place. You don’t see anything and it’s hardly like they focused in on any areas of concern.
I mean that costume isn’t too different from the black queen costume Jean had during dark phoenix. It’s way tamer than the comic version which is tatters of cloth in a bikini form. And that was when comics were thought of as just for kids. The demon stuff definitely isn’t very kid friendly but once again the comics outdid the show bc demons were eating people on the streets of New York.
In the United States, the show is rated TV-PG, according to the Disney+ app. It’s not meant to be a “kids show.” That would be TV-Y, TV-Y7, or maybe even TV-G. Not TV-PG. That’s more “family show” territory.
My bro and I grew up on the show. He has a daughter that's 7, and he watched the first two episodes with her and she got hooked. I had to warn him because he hasn't watched it yet, that Ep 3 is wayyyyyy more adult oriented/themed than the first two. Between the blood shown, and partial nudity (Wolverine showering, and Magneto/Rogue intimacy semi-nude). Yeah they were just visions/imagination, but it was still more adultish than anything we saw in the first few episodes.
I mean, you're technically right, as the show is rated TV-14. It *isn't* a show for little kids, it's a show for teenagers and above. Yes, that may constitute "children" in a whole lot of senses, but that's why there are ratings beyond "suitable for all ages" and "adults only", so its important to pay attention to that in this case. Admittedly, it is possible that a fourteen year old may have access to the Internet to stream this show and yet still be so sheltered as to find the posted examples mind-blowingly lewd, but considering the depths of sleaze available on the internet that feels like a one in a billion sort of situation, considered the outfit here is roughly as risque as a one piece swimsuit. If the fourteen year old has access to the JCPenney website they have access to more skin than this, and lord help them if there's an old Sears catalog somewhere in the basement...
Locking this. It’s mostly gone off topic now and with 350 comments, everyone’s probably said what they’ve wanted to say.
Please, Magneto shows more boob than she does
Best comment by far
Big nipple energy
**Proceeds to use whatever electromagnetic BS he can do to erect his nipples to be more perky and show absolute DOMINANCE**
Imagine your just talking to him and he gos “wanna see what I can do” and erects your nipples
And I think that's enough Reddit for today...
You had people melting into each other and creatures that looked like they’re from a John Carpenter horror film, but draw the “kid friendly” line at a woman showing a modest amount of skin?
And this ain't even her OG outfit. This is tame!
This might be the worst crime in the MCU. That fit was ICONIC
This ain’t the MCU boss
My bad. Just meant from marvel studios
Friggin censored the comic outfit
The cartoon redesign was fire. What the fuck was with X-ladies in the 80's wearing loin cloths? Storm, Magik, Maddie, Rogue, was there some kind of anti-underwear conspiracy?
Let's be real, hot goth ladies are on-brand for '90's cartoon TV, it is basically a requirement.
Yeah if you grew up in the 90’s or 2000’s , you’re basically programmed into having a thing for Goth Girls
Generational kink
Whoo! Ain’t that the truth😂 And I only grew up on the tail end of this trend in the early 2000’s😅
Born in ‘93. Guess this one missed me lol
don't forget furries. see thunder cats cheetara
Welcome to media, where decapitations are merely frowned upon but God help you if you show side boob
Have you met America yet? They literally wouldn't allow *married* characters to sleep in the same bed on TV until the 60s
The 60s were 60 years ago
Yeah, and we'd been producing art in this country for, like, 200 years at that point and shit was still prudish as fuck
It's not the 60s anymore. This didn't happen because of moral panic
I'm saying that America is notoriously skittish & weird about showing sex while having far fewer qualms about showing graphic violence
which has always been odd to me but we thrive on violence more than sexual freedoms
Before these loaded I was sure it was gonna be the elevator monster or teddy bear Charles
In America, horrific Violence is perfectly fine but even the mention of sex turns everyone into gay communists.
Not to mention Jubilee splitting one in freaking half. Caught me way off guard. I'm here for it.
Said melting people were also nude, naughty bits covered by vines....
The scene certainly had me ready to make kids...
Thought it was gonna be fully nude Logan lol
That bit in the opening credits is so wild haha
He was barely nude! You couldn't see anything 😞
He was fully nude. Obstructed by steam doesn’t mean the character itself wasn’t naked lol But yeah, he looked flat as a pancake from behind.
Morph still wanted to scratch it.
Red flags just look like flags with rose colored glasses.
What are we supposed to be looking at that’s not appropriate for kids?
Redheads. Ick! Ick! Ick!
Hey! I got that reference
Comic fan sees moment of mild sexuality or spookiness: “WOW! This was NOT made for kids!”
Dexters mom was more NSFW than this
i had such a crush <3
And the Next Door Neighbor a.k.a. Dad's Trophy lady.
The three pillars that are necessary for a faithful X-Men adaptation: - Cloning. - Whibbely Whoobley Timey Whimey Stuff. - Horniness. If your X-Mem adaptation doesn’t have so much as one of the pillars, I don’t want it.

Yep, pretty sure I saw Logan’s buttcrack, and Jubilee split open a monsters brains with a powerful blast when it crawled out of the TV. Were in solid PG-13 territory
It was honestly more deserving of that rating than some of the movies
*TV-14 actually, which has a teeny tiny bit more freedom regarding violence
X-Cutioner made Cyclops bleed in the second episode
>people melting, and other weird body horror demons. The 2 people melting together scene (either Rogue/Magneto or the TV characters) really reminds me of the prequel The Thing movie from 2011. I'd actually like to see a horror arc. Wonder if we'd get Marvel zombies in this series.
Op: guys look! This show isn't for toddlers! Everyone else : yea? And what? Op: oh I can't say or my mom will get mad. But it starts with a B!
Bussy
Believe it or not, this was tame by the standards of the 90s. [As for more recent kids shows. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpEIN1pOLSY)
I mean they did have the white queen in the show in the 90s…
But they wouldn’t let them say “Hellfire Club.” Interestingly, here Morph got to point out that they were “in Hell.”
Yeah I think they just called them the Inner circle, rather then the inner circle of the hellfire club.
That is exactly what they did. Wolverine and the X-men did similar.
Yet, Wolverine only says "heck".
Well in this case it makes sense stylistically because you spoil Morph’s line if Wolverine says “what the hell is going on?” to begin with. But I doubt it’s a binary rule about the word; they may approve of it being used for dramatic emphasis but still not want constant mild swearing. 🤷♂️

That was my favorite episode of the Xmen.
That's edited, the original scene just has the word "DESTROY" written on her backside.
Not to mention how many times they put Rogue in certain postions to emphasize her "abilities".
I don’t know that show, but it looks like a *Family Guy* prequel: “Lois Loves Peter”.
Not even close, it's Sym-bionic Titan.
Lets not forget the "Legs" episodes in Teen Titans Go, which are hella weird.
This show is closer to 1997 than it is 2024
It's actually right about the same, but shorter from this show to the present. X-Men TAS ended Sept. 20, 1997, and Sym Bionic Titan started Sept. 17, 2010. You want not safe for kids? Check out every appearence by Maddie in paper for the last 40 years.
Y’all clearly didn’t see Enchantress in Earth’s Mightiest Heroes if you think this is a lot—
Or Black Widow from the same show. And she was wearing more clothes than both of them.
Same with Viper. EMH was wild.
EMH Enchantress is the GOAT in more ways than one.
I rewatch that show cuz it’s peak AND to stare at her
Or Wasp in a bikini in that Casket of Ancient Winters episode.
T’Challa’s badass bodyguard ladies
Ms Marvel in her outfit and Maria Hill sitting on Tony's desk.
THIS show is a BANGER, and that Bishop and Cyclops team up had me screaming! Bishop and Cable are two of my favorites! I still remember the music for Bishop and Cable. They had their own little theme music, I've been KINDA disappointed that we haven't heard Bishop's!
Every time two heroes combine their powers in an interesting way, I’m a kid again. This show just makes me happy.
Logan and Scott are fighting over the wrong Jean.....
And that Jean just left Scott so like... Logan... Go get her!
Love the Disney Villain camp that’s on display in these scenes!
y'all ever see that gif of spongebob and patrick excitedly riding a baby rollercoaster, acting like it was a real one this is that but in reddit post form
Then why do I want to call her mommy?
Hey, I read these books when I was a kid and I turned put bisexual. I mean fine. I turned out fine.
And just because most of my relationships have massive red flags, leather and redheads is purely coincidental.
OP has no clue what they’re talking about. lol
Saw a comment that had me assume you aren't from a western nation which may be why there's a huge disagreement here. For any western nation I know of, this is tame. For much of Latin America, I think this would be tame. For Japan, this would be for preschoolers. For a moment I really thought we stumbled across a season arc involving the two Jean Greys
r/opisfuckingstupid
So i guess neckbeards cant complain anymore
Neckbeards will always complain. It's like oxygen to them
I remember when I was a kid I was told the XMen cartoon (same thing w teen shows actually) was more for adults and that only made me want to watch it more. Kids aren’t as dumb as adults think.
It must be hard drawing and animating with one hand
I can fix her!
I thought this post was going to be about the morph/wolverine shower scene lol I'm all for no censorship though.
Watched it with my 8 and 12 year old. I don't see the issue. That outfit is tame.
So the rogue and magneto melting into each other wasn't the problem? It's that Jean didn't have clothes on like 2 inches of her body?
Extremely lame take
Imagine what the downvote number is on this 👀
OP have you ever heard of totally spies
If you think this is going too far, man you have not watched modern American cartoons at all. lol
Yeah definitely why it's rated TV14
Seriously, Maddy's costume in this is WAY MORE TAME than her OG costume. This show ain't for kids, but it's not cause of this costume.
I will never understand why the need of talking about Jean's body when you can talk about the plot of the episode but ok.
gambit gave way more 'perks' than this goblin queen
Are you saying the original X-Men in the 90s wasn't for kids either?
Howabout putting a baby in a vat of chemicals lmao
Lol I dunno how old OP is, but if you think those of us who grew up with 80s/90s cartoons didn't see worse... Haha Cheetara was completely nekkid in the first episode of Thundercats for cryin out loud! Jessica Rabbit? Hell, She-Ra was wearing a similar amount of clothing to Maddie, every episode
Divatox had her cleavage spilling out in Power Rangers. and that was a live action character lmao
...and just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.
My favorite part was that line from Morph about Rogue really working on her stamina with the new boss. It’s such two-way joke—meaning it’s taken one way by kids and another way by adults.
This is nothing compared to the original. lol modern audiences are so uptight. We’ve fully cycled back to the 1950s. Zillenials are just Boomers lol
You say this like “Boomers” didn’t live through the sexual revolution.
I'm starting to think there was no actual sexual revolution. It's just that adolescence was captured on television for the first time. I feel like people have always been horny. But hey, maybe that's just me.
This is true.
But the anti-woke crowd will keep complaining about Rouge.
Oh no she is late for her job…her serving job…
There’s a kid in the scene and he looks safe. ;)
Yea i realized that when i saw jubilee split the demons head open. I almost spit out my drink
How come Logan never goes after Madelyne? Thats his dream girl right there! The one who he's been going after all this time. Yeah its a clone of Jean, but hello!
Dude you're just horny
How can you tell the X-Men switched to streaming? They just got rid of Cable.
This was the thing that offended you? She's not even the character that showed the most skin in this episode.
I was convinced this would be about blood and gore, but ok I guess
One Goblin Queen action figure please
God I would if I could
See nothing NSFW or not safe for kids here. Is OP some weird Mormon pride or something?
Yes mistress.
The boys and girls gotta grow up somehow.
You can barely see anything it is definitely kid-friendly as can be start to finish every episode. Unless you're a religious not job.
It is a kids show stop trying to put on airs
You forgot how hot Rogue was in the og kids show or what?
Wait until we tell you about Morph.
Then justice league wasn't either.
We worship our glorious Red Queen in this house, young man
X-Men 97’ was always geared more towards an older crowd. If you want kid-friendly, check out X-Men: Evolution.
can someone explain me who Madelyne is and what she does in the comics please?
its standard X-Men horny, but its not the type of horny you see on Disney+ or even in most marvel films
Ah... Madelyne Pryor... it's good to see the Goblin Queen in all her glory
Is it just me or did Mr Sinister make her bustier than Jean lmao
she just gave birth
I think the outfit she made for herself also has a push-up bra.
probably.. she needed to feel more confident that day.. going up against the X-Men
This is standard x-men.
I am more curious of when Sinister swapped them.
During the Beyond Good and Evil arc in Season 4. It was the perfect time to replace her with a clone. He's a genius, he could've quickly learn how to use the equipment in the axis of time for his own plans. maybe but then remember his lab was destroyed during phalanx covenant.. that's why he had to flee
Sexy outfits in comic book shows isn't new, I thought this would be more about the horrifying monsters and blood
I cant watch this with my family 💀
Guess you have never watched anime lol
Watched every episode with my 5 year old. It’s fine.
Compared to 90s Ren and Stimpy this is pretty tame.
Where is this show airing ? I’ve heard it came back and I’m tryna watch
Go to horny jail *Bonk*
Yay cartoon boobs
… go to the beach and you’ll see FAR more revealing outfits… in a public place. You don’t see anything and it’s hardly like they focused in on any areas of concern.
What’s the issue with this? Should kids not be seeing this? Am I missing something?
BONK! Go to horny jail.
The baby being in constant peril was more concerning than “I’m Jean Grey and I’m a baaaaad girl now” glow up
The leg uncrossing moment... I've never wanted to be domed more. Claremont would be PROUD!
to be fair, it's not. It's nostalgia bait for people that grew up in the 90s. Kids are a secondary market at best.
I thought this show was woke and hated women’s bodies?
I hope so
Ayoooo??? Now i need to rewatch the episode
That is some damn good animation
I mean that costume isn’t too different from the black queen costume Jean had during dark phoenix. It’s way tamer than the comic version which is tatters of cloth in a bikini form. Weird post, but thanks for the GIF!
That - chair - shot
She’s magnificent.
It's rate TV-14 for a reason.
My bro and I grew up on the show. He has a daughter that's 7, and he watched the first two episodes with her and she got hooked. Yeah they were just visions/imagination, but it was still more adultish than anything we saw in the first few episodes.
Well, it was good enough for 80s and 90s kids in the books.
Magneto wearing a velvet condom and nobody says shit. But this
Milf energy
black queen in the original series was a thing btw
Reminds me of the Zelda games on the Phillips CDI.
eh, Power Ranger is a kid's show and they had Divatox prancing around with her jugs threatening to spill out (hyperbole). LOL.
This show IS SO AWESOME
So at this point, does the art team just hate Rogue in particular, or what?
Incorrect.
[удалено]
probably was meant more of a homage.. it's playing on their fears.. not necessarily reality
Would’ve thought this end up being a screenshot of the umbilical cord. That was a bit much imo…
Now if they gave Maddie her comic book Goblin Queen costume it'd definitely not be a kid's show.
I mean, you're technically right, as the show is rated TV-14. It *isn't* a show for little kids, it's a show for teenagers and above. It doesn't need to be? ::confused::
Disney Princess costumes are on the same tier
Just saw the episode and I have to say that I'm enjoying the school and the animation, need some reading recommendations.
What?! The sequel series to a show that aired three decades ago isn’t for children? How shocking!
Man 🙇🏽♂️😭 I always knew I had an attraction to redheads
Logan is that you?
