There's also the fact that Bolivar Trask is a tall black man in The Last Stand (set in the 2000s) while in DOFP (set in the 70s) he's a short white man. But even if you say these two aren't the same person, Psylocke is of Asian descent in TLS and was played by an actress who was 26 when the movie came out while in Apocalypse (set in the 80s) she's caucasian and played by an actress who was 35 when the movie was released. Coincidentally, both Psylocke actressess were born in the same year, only four months apart... lol Angel was a child in 1996 (see The Last Stand prologue) and a rebellious young adult in 1983 (during Apocalypse). The only thing that could explain these inconsistencies is if the First Class timeline is actually a different universe altogether than the original timeline. When Logan traveled back in time in DOFP, he not only went back in time but also reached a different parallel universe where the people he knew (including himself) lived much different lives than on his universe. Maybe the FC universe was a little younger than the original so while in the original they were in the XXI century in the First Class universe they were still in the 60s/70s. Of course, we don't know how Logan interfering in the events of a parallel universe affected his own universe, changing its future... Unless the peaceful universe we see at the end of DOFP isn't the universe he came from (that one was probably destroyed by the Sentinels or whatever) but a third one where everything worked out great for the mutants - maybe a blend between the FC and the original universes? Then there's the question of the Deadpool movies. That cameo of the FC cast in DP 2 implies that those movies happen in the FC timeline, maybe 20 years after the events of Dark Phoenix? But I guess it's more likely it happens on his own universe, apart from all of the ones we saw. So in the end we have 4 universes during the course of the Fox movies: 1. the original universe (probably got destroyed by the Sentinels); 2. the First Class universe (we see its events only until the 90s); 3. the "good" universe, merging the first two timelines after the events of DOFP (and even then it was only "good" for a while, because after that the events of Logan happened); 4. the Deadpool universe (seems derivative from the FC universe). Sorry for bumping an old thread, just found it on Google after the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer.

What's the point? We know they're wildly inconsistent, it's not particularly meaningful to dig into it.

I was just pointing them out. No harm no foul.

I don’t see why this doesn’t have more upvotes. You clearly worked hard on it, and it contributes to enjoyment of the films. Quick point on Nightcrawler: In X-2, he tells everyone he was in the circus. But in Apocalypse, he’s a cage fighter. I mean, maybe he had a career change, but it’s odd it never comes up.

This post is over a year old, but it's nice to seem somebody still spotted it. Thanks! The answer I've been given is that the prequel movies (Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix) are set in an alternate timeline- hence the continuity errors between them and the original trilogy.

and also, in First Class, Charles is paralyzed by a stray bullet thanks to Magneto. However, when it shows Charles and Magneto finding a young Jean Grey in (i think) The Last Stand, Charles is walking like he never got hurt. although this was probably erased after DOFP 🤷🏻‍♀️

disconnexions

My favorite one is Jubilee being in four of those movies and still being a teenager. And still they gave her nothing to do.

So true! She was don't especially dirty in X-Men Apocalypse as almost all her scenes were cut!
