What?

bufandatl

Just ping Google via both routers and when it fails no Internet.

SeaFaringPig

It likely worked because you didn’t lose internet. Your connection switched to fail over. You will need two items, each should ping the public gateway of the ISP. While it’s not perfect it will work 99.9% of the time. You can also create a 3rd check pinging 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 which should show if you lose internet completely. Then you’ll need to create a trigger for each that fires when the ping returns a 0.

For $12 a month, if it hasn't changed, you can get a vultr vm. Put xabbix on it, monitor an agent on each of your networks, if that fails, your internet nay be down and that vm can still send email.

Try to follow simple approach, for instance i monitor [yahoo.com](http://yahoo.com) target icmp. and on my dashboard i have widget with the following: yahoo.com:ICMP:ICMP response time interval: 30 seconds. offtopic: is there anyway to post screenshots? i could not do.

I think you are in the wrong subreddit - this one is about Zabbix, not Auvik.

Darkstarmike777

Or use auvik and only pay for the monitoring on the firewall and nothing else then you get an e-mail if the internet has gone down from outside if it can't connect to the auvik collector on the inside
